Proclip holder sales! - Droid Incredible Accessories

Hey guys I wanted to point out that ProClip has been having off and on sales on their holders for the DINC and some other older phones since they need to empty their stock. A couple sales have been half off and it's well worth it.
If you're looking for a holder with the built in charger PM me as I have an extra since I upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus.
Just wanted to let you guys in on it, though!

I posted this yesterday, but just saw your post today...
How was your experience with proclip products?
Did the mount fit securely on your vehicle, or did it wobble some?
Did the device fit in the holder securely, or did it wobble some?
How was the quality?
Would you buy again?
I'm probably going to pick up an Incredible 4G when it comes out next week (assuming it does come out next week)... I wonder how long it will take them to come out with a holder for it.

Hmm, Pre-order and the pictures are faked (charging lead plugging in the left hand side?). Best wait till after their September due date and check again, it looks like it will be a nice solution if it arrives.
I bought a universal car dock from ebay and whilst the phone fits (kind of) the streak is just so damn heavy it shakes about A LOT. It's usable, but very irritating.
Not sure what these 2 will be like though, but watch out for shaking
saving seller for future use.
Now they are on i am sure their will be more to follow ie China
ah, the chinese. good food, attractive women, cheaply made, cheaply priced inferior products we just cant resist. gotta love em
Yep that is all True and Yep We never Learn and we BUY BUY BUY dont we just love em
Considering the car docking kit from Dell is perfect, I don't see why anyone would consider a third party car station.

Sure... aside from the over-inflated price. I bought mine from a local Wireless Wave here in Toronto and it works just as well for $20 taxes in.
Dell car kit far from perfect
I bought the car kit from Dell, and no matter whether the device is hanging from the windshield or off the dash, the Streak bounces around like mad when I am driving. My car is nowhere NEAR that bad - it is a heavy device and an awkward mount.
I just ordered a GPS t-mount from ProClip that might work well. I will take the sleeve the Streak sits in on the gooseneck and mount that on the ProClip mount, then attach that to the vehicle mount made for my car. That should lock the device down.
It's an expensive solution, but I spend about an hour each way commuting daily, so it is really a necessity for me. My mount should be here on Wednesday, and if anyone is interested I will write it up and post a picture or two if it works.
pictures would be awesome.
Do you see anyway to have the adapter attached (jerry-rigged) to the mount so that it plugs in when you insert the Streak?
I am looking for a way, as plugging the cable in is extremely tempermental, and a pain, to be honest!!
I suppose you could do something on the bottom of the Dell sleeve to hold the cable. I will have my cable secured on the console and the mount, so it is no problem for me to plug it in the bottom of the phone when I put it in the stand.
The mount comes in tomorrow. Can't wait. Had to slam on the brakes on the way home today and it looked like my phone was on the business end of a trebuchet...

In the US it is only 39.99.... not too expensive if you ask me. Plus this car docking kit really is perfect for the Streak. The sides are flexible rubber that hold the Streak and on the back there are rubber pads so absolutely no plastic is touching the Streak resulting in no scratches. Plus you get a a cable with it.
Perfection is worth the 40 bucks. Although I would love to see images of the one you purchased and seem pleased with.
I have the Dell car kit and I like it. It seems reasonably priced at $40 since it comes with a cigar lighter-USB adapter and USB cable as separate items. One can never have too many charging cables or options. The mount does jiggle a bit however this can be cured by positioning the mount so the cradle rests on top of the dash rather than suspended in mid-air.

I'm looking to use the dell case inners for a car holder. I have some garmin mounts that will allow me to fix to the dash.
The issue with the ones from ebay (original post) the holding part is covering the power pdmi connector.

Anyone thinking of making their own car mount should make clearance for the camera lens so it can be used as a dash-cam. Dell did not do this and it would require some cutting on their kit.

I acutally brought one of these:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/clingo-universal-in-car-holder-p25398.htm
The arm is solid but since it still sticks out a fair bit and the phone is kinda heavy, it does bounce a little (nothing compared to the flexi arms you find on most other phone holders). And since the Dell has a flat back, it sticks pretty well too (though I have had it drop once but I think that was cos my brother didn't put it on properly and due to the weight, it slowly peeled itself off). The pad only covers a small area of the back of the phone so you can use the camera, and there's also no clamps that would obscure the charging port or the buttons on top.
If the docking station was cheaper, I'd seriously consider getting another one for the car, that way I can easily put it on and take it off with super easy and I can leave the cable plugged in and just tuck it away (saves so much time when I do multiple deliveries and stuff).

I've seen the Dell car mount kit, and it seems to have a snugg fit to the dell.
my question is... can you use it with a case over the Dell, something like the form fit case from Dell.

How good is it really? does it pad really grip the device. I'ts an interesting concept, but does it hold onto the Dell through a long journey.
would you recommned it?
thanks

Ebay car mount - be careful!

I bought this car mount a few weeks ago and have been very impressed with it, even in my old suzuki 4x4 which rattles like a can there is no vibration with the mount.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380292361164#ht_3536wt_1158
However, I have just noticed where the clip hooks the phone at the top, there is that much tension in it, well it has started to lift the top part of the phone away
So I'm going to try heating it up a bit and pulling the tab back a bit so it reduces the tension.
Something for others to watch out for!
Cheers
Todd
For those that have a defender case and want a car mount there are Rocketfish and Bracketron mounts that have the same attachment.
Google shopping results - for rocketfish
Google Results - for Bracketron mounts
These will work with the Dell car mount bracket or the clip on the Defender case.
Interesting feed back Todd, thanks. I was just about to order on.
Hopefully you can answer a question for me then. I was looking at getting one with the belt clip as well, Would the holder for the streak be sufficient that I could just get the one holder and swap this to the belt clip and then back to the windscreen holder? or would I need two holders and swap the Streak between the 2?
Thanks in advance.
Stuart
Can't really answer your question on that Stuart as I do not have a belt clip as well.
If it helps I can take a photo of the holder if you like.
I've got one of these and have not had the same issue.
I've been using mine for about 6 months now and the phone is still perfect?....
Lucky you
I'm not saying it's a bad mount, far from it, the post was just to make folk aware of a potential issue.

Todd
Nope, that's fine
Just reread my post and it makes it sound like I don't believe
Anyway, mines fine, seems like you had an issue with an over zealous clip.
Although we've only commented on 2, so that's 50% are good and 50% are bad!
i have the same mount for car and also have a belt clip....
These are the two best accessories that i purchased for my phone...
Hi, I have this one called Clingo I bought from ebay.
That is very nice, you can put any phone on that, I'am courier ran about 300 miles day, diesel car, my van vibrate a lot and the phone still there hehe.
I cannot put external links yet, but search for clingo on ebay, that's a good one.

Tetrax X Way car mount

Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to share a great mount I've been using the last 3 months. The tetrax X way is great for mounting your Dinc to the a/c vent. Comes off easily but holds like none other. Plus it's small and stays out of your way.
I've had no problems with damage to the vent and it has proven to be worth the cost. BONUS: it also comes with extra mounts so you can use them on your other devices you might wish to mount to the air vent.

Replace [dot] with actual "."
Note: I receive no monies from the Tetrax company, just thought I'd share.
Cool idea. Thanks for sharing.

if you watch the verizon stores you can purchase an OEM carmount really cheap due to clearance.... with the clearance discount and then my 25% discount ontop of that i was able to pick up the mount which also has a belt clip for around $12... it works great
Being from Europe, I spent ages trying to find one that didn't crucify on shipping. Found it on Tetrax Ireland with free postage. Thought I would share for anyone from this side of the Atlantic!!
Right now I have the OEM car mount, which I absolutely LOVE, but ill need to buy a new one every 2 years when I get a new phone. I like the fact that with this Tetrax one you can buy once and use it for multiple devices. What I'm not so wild about though, is the idea of having to attach small metal discs to the back of my devices.

[Q] Decent HD2 Car Windshield Mounts?

Looking to purchase a windshield car mount for my HD2 (TMOUS). I've seen a lot of posts raving about vent mounts, but not too many for windshield mounts. I found this product that seems like it should be able to do the job, but before purchasing I was wondering what other people have bought/think about it.
I'll only be using this while I put my phone into GPS mode, so I can get around the city easily.
Thanks!
just go BRODIT... I know it is not windshield but it fits perfectly... both the car and the phone... besides that I hate having something in the windshield while driving... in some states it is even forbidden....
From the photos, it doesn't seem like a good choice - I feel like the phone won't be secured enough, and even if it secures it, you don't seem to have a lot of options regarding angle tilt.
For the normal HD2 (not sure if it would fit the TMOUS) I recommend this from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310314688415
The mount is rock solid.
The tab on the cradle normally breaks off after a year or so's use with all the other versions I've had so I expect it to do the same, but I just buy the cheapest one I can find and swap over the new cradle.
The cases and other bits as well make the £11 an absolute bargain.
Definetly a steal, so sad there's no shipping to my country

I'd contact the seller and see if they can sort something out.
Don't bother, I'll jusk ask some friends who are studying there, and they'll just bring it over home when they return for the holidays

ProClip

Do you guys have a lot of experience with ProClip mounts?
I came across them the other day and it seems like a much better alternative to hoping/waiting for Verizon to release their own crappy suction cup mounts, but I wanted to see what people who have used them think.
Are the vehicle mounts as easy to install as they make them seem?
Is the device holder high quality?
Does the mount/holder combo stay firmly in place, or does it wiggle a bit?
Does the phone fit firmly in the holder, or does it wiggle any?
Any other thoughts?
I'm probably going to get one of these for my next phone (Incredible 4G), unless anyone has some negative experiences to share?
