Do you know if it's possible to change language layout on this english keyboard? I want to use it to type swedish character like åäö.

i know the OP said he sent it back, but if anyone else is curious, I have this same keyboard (i have Q1u UMPCs i bought this for) and it works fine w/ Android. I have it connected to my Galaxy Tab 7.7 via the OEM 30-pin to USB adapter.

QWERTY Micro USB Keyboard?

Since i'm thinking about buying an HD2 but would really like an hardware keyboard (most for writing and playing games), does anyone know if there is some kind of attachment designed for this phone? i don't mind if it will make the handset bigger, since i think the HD2 is actually pretty slim.
Not that the software KB is at all bad on the Leo, but an external Keyboard would be very useful for typing out large documents indeedy.
As far as I know there is no USB host controller on the phone so there are no devices that can be connected to it (Other than a device that has a host controller such as a PC).
There is an alternative though, bluetooth keyboards. The smallest and nicest Ive seen is Logitech DiNovo
...not cheap though. There are a few others out there .freedominput.com have a few nice keyboards. Google around might see a few more
Bluetooth keyboards
I read that somewhere, that there is no USB hc.
Logitech DiNovo Mini looks nice.
I have the full size version, which I love.
I got my Thinkoutside/Stowaway bt keyboard to work with it.
Works well.
No key sound though.

looks usefull but have you tried this with an HD2?
i thought the posts above said that there is no usb driver inside?
I just posted the URL above in case someone needed a small USB keyboard. I don't know about the HD2, but it is probably like my N1 running CM7 with no native USB host keyboard support in the ROM. I have ordered one of these to try with my tiny Archos 28 tablet which does haveUSB keyboad support.

Samsung USB adapter

After update for Gingerbread I can use a bluetooth mouse which helps me navigate quicker when I have a long story or several emails to respond to. Works well when the GT is docked on the keyboard station.
Wondered if anyone has used the Samsung adapter for USB with any success on the seven inch tab. I know it says for the 10.1 version but those updates were before the Gingerbread release. I have seen a few comments where opinions vary on if it will work.

[Q] Best keyboard for a Galaxy Tab?

Hey, guys! My Galaxy Tab will be here on Wednesday (very excited). I am looking at accessories for it now, and I'm kind of stuck at the keyboard option. Here's what I'm after.
- "Real" keyboard. I spend my life in front of a computer, and I don't care for the soft touch keyboards at all. Just don't feel right to me.
- Small, but not micro. I really just want a keyboard that's essentially the same as a laptop keyboard, but without the laptop.
- I don't want to go broke buying a keyboard. I don't have to tell you guys how much the tablet already cost me, and I don't want to spend a huge chunk on an input device for it.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thank you so much!

There are alot of keyboard that work.
I use my Ps3 keypad. Once CM7 comes for me, I'll be using the controller and the keypad as a combo.
I never used apple's mouse. I doubt they will run on my tab.

Microsoft Mobile 6000 Bluetooth Keyboard for me - it works perfectly and you of couse can have your Tab in portrait or horizontal position.
Hi, I just bought an apple wireless keyboard today. It is light, elegant and well-priced for its quality. I am glad to report that I got it connected to my tab at first try.
Switched on Bluetooth, found the device, typed the passkey that appears on the tab screen with the apple keyboard, press enter and I got it! it works together with Samsung on-screen keyboard. Nothing to complain except that caps lock doesn't work. But I assume you could always download a driver from the market to make it work. I am happy for what I got for now.
Lastly my galaxy tab is an international model - in Australia. Hope I have helped those who were as anxious as I was while deciding whether to get the apple wireless keyboard.
Logitech keyboard for Android 3.0
This keyboard works pretty well for me. I liked this one because it has android shortcuts. Some of them do not work since it was designed for 3.0(HC). Cant wait to see HC on the 7in GTab! Then all the shortcuts should work.....

What is about leather cases with small keyboards that can be bought on Amazon or elsewhere? Do they do a job, are they worth for money? Many thanks.
I'm using a bluetooth keyboard with my Verizon Tab 10.1 (Model SCH-I905). The keyboard, which comes in a case that holds both the keyboard and Tab, is called:
eWonder Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard Case for 10-Inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
I purchased it on Amazon for $44, and it was very simple to setup (under 1 min), and has worked like a charm!

You can consider Aluminum bluetooth dock keyboard for GALAXY Tab 10.1, model should be P7510. but a little expensive as it looks very cool, $50.35. The online store 's name is Casesinthebox, you can google it to find the keyboard.
Well, this bluetooth keyboard is just what i use now, this one is pratical cause it is a case meanwhile, so my tablet is well protected from the dust with the multi-functional keyboard.

Keyboard dock for Nexus 7?

Only thing holding me back from getting a n7 is no keyboard dock (not bluetooth keyboard) and no microsd slot forcing me to buy the 16gb version which is still not enough. I know there is a workaround for the storage issue with otg but I would like a keyboard dock.
Ideally if there was a keyboard dock that has an sd card slot id buy it in a heartbeat.

There isn't a dock I'm aware of, but the logitech bluetooth keyboard for Android works really well on the N7.

LOL... You purchased it a day after saying the lack of a keyboard dock is holding you back.
I've searched everywhere I know of in hopes of finding a Keyboard/Dock for the N7, but there is not one sadly..
I think it would be a little hard to work with the 1 input options (the microUSB) when building a dock.
Specially since its positions on the bottom of the tablet (portrait style)
I'm currently waiting for another OTG Cable to arrive.. I'm then going to rip apart my wifes Tab2 7.0 keyboard, and see what I can do about wiring in the OTG cable, replacing the docks current Samsung Connector with the mUSB on the OTG cable. Won't be a microSD option, but I'll have a keyboard dock (hopefully)

Because the point using the Samsung Keyboard Dock.. is the "Dock" part of it... the Nexus fix relatively well in the slot. Might need to carve it out a bit to adjust for the corners..
Going off your suggestion why not just buy a Bluetooth keyboard? Wait, no dock there either...

I'd advise seriously against that. I bought it, and in addition to being rather huge, the keyboard gets more awful with use. It's not even the size -- it just doesn't register keypresses sometimes.

the product Nexus 7 Keyboard Cover – Nexus 7 Bluetooth Keyboard Leatherette Folio Case from u Play (White Label) $49.99 is good and useful for the people who work with time management.
I'm using a Microsoft wireless keyboard (Model 2000) and it works perfectly, even at faster speeds (70 WPM). I just plug the wireless receiver into my OTG cable and it automatically starts using the hardware. Though this doesn't work if you want a smaller portable keyboard as this one is full sized, but I use it at home mostly so that's not a problem (I prefer having a full sized keyboard). These special keys even work: Mail (brings up Gmail), volume controls, pause/play, home, and some others that I can't remember.

Just picked up hip street with keyboard yesterday, was looking for something thick for protection more than anything! The case is heavy, bulky and the keys are cluncky. That being said it connects very well with Bluetooth and all ports and speaker are open/ accessible. Haven't tested to see how long battery for keyboard lasts ( charges thru USB ) overall I'm happy with this purchase.

I use an apple bluetooth keyboard and a blurex case to prop my n7 at the right angle.. I've found no disadvantage to this and my N7 anctually fits right in the gap under the keyboard so I can wedge it in between books and what not. It seems to be the best route right now.

Mini bluetooth keyboard problem

Hi ive just bought a mini bluetooth keyboard from ebay. Its a great little device it has a full querty keyboard and a touchpad its made by ipazzport I think but its similar to the rii one.
My problem is its range is terrible it says it will work upto 33ft/10m but mine only works 1ft away from my phone any further like if I lean back in my chair and it becomes unusable.
Could it be faulty? Or maybe a flat battery? Or interference with wifi? Or maybe a setting im missing
I hoped there might be someone with knowledge on these mini bluetooth keyboards who might beable to shed some light.
My plan was to use it with an hdmi cable but I cant as it is. Im gonna leave it on charge all night and ive contacted the seller already about a refund but its a shame as it would be perfect if it worked properly.
Any info appreciated

Hello, I just can tell you my Bluetooth keyboard RT-MWK02+ works fine with Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and "Android External Keyboard helper" up to about 3m !
I have the Rii Mini and it works up to about 10m away.
Do you have a laptop or something else you can test the keyboard with? If it has the same problem with another device then it's probably a faulty keyboard.

Hi guys,
Which one of those have you got? Is it Rii Mini N7? Could you please provide a link to buy? I am interested in getting one as well.. I have a diNovo Edge which I love but I hate to have to pair-unpair it with multiple devices we have at home.. These look like good htpc (n7100.. hehe) companions..
Do you use yours also with your pc? How does it perform?
I have the Rii mini.
I originally bought it to use with the Note 1.
It works, but I found the office apps on Android not all that conducive to the type of editing I mainly do (using track changes and adding comments). So, I don't do as much editing as I expected I would.
I now just use it with my laptop.
It has replaced my Targus presenter a it has the laser pointer, and I can control power point press.
But the cursor keys and keyboard mean I can also use it to navigate pdf files on the projector and do simple text entry whilst standing up away from the laptop.
I use a lot of pdfs in my classes and type and draw over the top of them to fill in answers, highlight things, underline, circle etc. . It's great for that.
I wouldn't want to use it to type a whole paragraph.

I also teach and was thinking that this could be something that I'd use both at home and in class. Laser pointer is a plus too. Though I like the other model which also serves as a learning remote; it does not have a pointer. I think I'll get one with a pointer...
Still.. there are different varieties.. one that has the touchpad in the center of the keyboard, one that looks rectangular with touchpad on the right.. and another one that has the touchpad on the right and the lower right corner rounded.
I wonder if there is a difference in quality as well as the shape..
I have the one with the touch pad on the right and the lower right corner rounded.
The model # is RT-MWK02 it might have some more characters, but the text on the sticker is faded.
The touch pad is OK, but it's difficult to do any delicate movements. I can put the cursor into a text entry box on a web page, for example. But, it's a little fiddly. I find it easier to use the cursor keys to navigate around most of the time.
