[Q] G-sensor problem with GingerXperia||ESPECIAL EDITION|| nAa kernel - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi again.
Well I was able to solve my previous problem with the wifi, by full resetting before installing the ROM, but now other problem occur. After booting the orientation sensor works ok. But when I launch a app like google skymap it works fine but when I quit the app, the orientation sensor stop working. In general. No matter what app I launch. After rebooting the sensor starts to work, but when I launch Google SkyMap the story starts all over again. So, any ideas. I am using GignerXperia V25 nAa kernel edition.
Edit: In addition, when the senor stop working, this message starts to pop up form time to time. "The application Call log extension (process com.sonyericsson.eventstream.calllogplugin) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Edit2: I've flashed my kernel to, nAa v11 and reinstall google skymap, but situation is still the same.

Is there any way to reset the camera module?

I'm not sure what went wrong but my camera and flash suddenly stopped working. It would give me an error if I tried to use the Torch LED app and would say no camera detected when I use a camera app... This has been recently FXZed and is now running SlimKat. And no amount of rebooting is helping

[Q] [Troubleshoot] Compass and Maps crashing.

I'm having a couple of wonky issues that recently presented themselves.
First, the compass is acting up. It always points in the wrong direction in Maps. It is usually about 45 degrees off, but lately it seems to only want to point south. It also points in the wrong direction when using GPS Essentials, but I haven't tried anything else.
Second, and the more frustrating issue: Maps is not working. First issue with maps: When I search for a destination and look at the route (before I start the route guidance), if the screen shuts off the phone will not wake up. I will have to reboot the phone. Second issue with maps: Route guidance crashes the phone. Specifically, when the voice talks, maps will freeze, causing me to have to reboot the phone. The really strange part is if I turn the volume all the way down, I can navigate just fine. It is only when the voice talks that it crashes. However, as you can guess, a voiceless guidance isn't all that helpful.
Things that I have done in the past that may or may not have any affects on my current issue: I have used faux's kernel, but went back to the stock kernel. I also use Viper's audio fix.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try to fix this??
*sigh*
The only time things work correctly is if you ask for help, right? I don't know if I have a permanent fix, but the compass and maps issues have subsided.
Here's what I did: I tried to use GPS Essentials multiple times to calibrate the compass with no success. I then tried GPS Status and Toolbox and that seemed to properly calibrate the compass, so that issue may be resolved.
Concerning the maps crashing: I tried disabling Viper audio for the phone speaker (I hadn't had this issue when the voice guidance was through the bluetooth), and it seemed to act normally. Since I only used Viper for the phone speaker I decided to totally uninstall the driver and app.
I don't know if this is a perma fix, but I'll try it out for a while and see what happens.

Facial recognition issues anyone?

Anyone else getting face unlock issues? It works fine then suddenly stops working. Says it can't recognize a face. If I try to delete and re program the facial recognition, an error shows up saying the feature isn't working and the phone needs to be restarted. After restart, it works fine again. Happens now once daily.

yes, I am having the same issue though it's perhaps once every three weeks.
I tried clearing the cache and data in the App manager but did nothing.
I am thinking it might be the app that scans for apps and it they are not used within three days it puts them to sleep. But that shouldn't cause it not to even run.
I think this is why Samsung put an option in the settings to auto restart your phone weekly or what not.
Mine acts up once in a while, so just switched back to IRIS. Anyone notice that there is no Preview Screen now? Just text at the top of the screen with instructions. (I like it better without the preview screen, thought it was tacky).
Have had this problem intermittently from day one, on this and another note. It's not so reliable. Fingerprint still the fastest.
Seriously facial recognition is garbage
Sent from my SM-N950F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
there is a setting which lets you make a less secure faster facial recognition. I use this with no problem...

General Fingerprint Sensor Stops Working

Hi all.
I have a Motorola Edge S Pro with the Polar Star Pure Edition ROM by @ilia3367 installed for more than a year now. For the past month, my fingerprint scanner would randomly stop working, and I would have to restart my phone. I have now cleared all cache, done a full factory reset, and updated to the latest version. I don't think this is a hardware issue, because it still works perfectly most of the time.
The error I get when it stops is "Fingerprint Hardware Not Available". It's as if a single application is crashing it, and it does not restart. When I restart the phone, everything is working again.
Any advice?
Did you manage to fix it?
