Q, need help with OR for stock 2.1

And friend gave me his milestone for an update, I plan using cm7
I need to install OR but What sbf file should I use (from guides i understand that it's needed) ?
The phone is stock 2.1

[Q] How to upgrade to ICS from Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread

I m new to this.
My phone details are as below and I would like to update to android ICS.
Model Number: GT-I9000
Firmware version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: I9000XXJVO
Kernel Version: [email protected]#2
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XXJVO
Can someone please assist me.

1-just make full wipe (3 wipe)
2-root your device with CF root or by semaphore kernel 2.5 not 2.7.4
3-download cm9 to your sd card
4-flash it through cwm
5-then flash your favour ics rom

I am tempted to say RTFM.. There are plenty of tutorials, with all steps described. Just read a little, you'll be learning by yourself

Hey Guys ! i recently updated my phone to ICS 4.0.4 via KIES , why my baseband Version & Build Number is changed ? em in pakistan..

Kernal version : 3.0.15-1068447 [email protected]#3 SMP PREEMPT Thu sep 6 21:49:19 KST 2012
Build Number : IMM76D.XXLRT ( isn't it should be IMM76D.XXLRK ??? )

LRT is the latest official samsung ICS firmware, LRK is the latest radio, so your fine (I think). I am still learning!

[Q] Galaxy I9000 Froyo 2.2 to Jelly Bean the right way

cousin of mine is unsure how to proceed from a rooted 2.2 Frojo to Jelly Bean, here are his questions:

I need your help because I don´t know the next steps to flash
my Android.
I rooted my international Galaxy S I9000 with vodafone branding.
(I flashed the "CF-Root-XX_XEU_JPO-v1.2-Busybox-1.17.1" kernel)
Then I installed the ROM Manager app to install CWM 2.5.
I have still e2 Recovery but I can load the zip in this mode
every time.
All data is already backed up and saved (IMEI/EFS Backup is done).
I used the Root Explorer for this step.
Now I´m not sure which steps are needed to install either
Gingerbread, ICS or Jelly Bean. Which roms/kernels are compatible?
My final version should be Cyanogenmod Mackay Jelly Bean.
Now I have Froyo 2.2
Does anyone have appropriate info or links that may help me
because the forum search didn´t serve the right infos for me.

Hey
You first need to have official gingerbread (provided by samsung) bootloaders as some roms need these..
You can follow the update and root guide below..(Works for the Internation Version Only!! Model No: GT-I9000)
After succesfull booting flash the macky rom with the given instructions in his thread..

Hi i have a Gt N7000 and my version is 4.1.2 nd baseband is N7000DDLS6 ND KERNEL IS 3.0.31-906407. i WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH KERNEL I SHLD USE TO ROOT my phone .Thnks

You need to look at the build version. Judging from the baseband it seems you have an Indian rom. So Philz ddlsc kernel.
