Hot to root and install recovery on n7000xxlb1?
Download and install a firmware before LA*. Than root that and run Mobile Odin Pro. Update to the latest firmware and select Everroot.

I have owned a galaxy note for about 4 months now. But i have not been able to root or install custom ROMS because I can not get any PC to recognize my NOTE (therefore I cant use ODIN).:crying:
When i connect my note to any PC via a USB cable I get the message "USB connected - MTP connected" on my note but my computer does not recognize the note. I have installed the latest samsung note PC drivers , the latest KIES software.....it has been so tiring.:crying:
If there is any one that can help with a way i can root and install custom ROMS on the note via putting the files on the memory card (because I can sent files to the note from my PC via Bluetooth) i will be very happy. Also, if there is something i can do to make my PC recognize my note i would really love to hear it:cyclops:.
You do not want kies on your computer. To use Odin, the phone needs to be in download mode.

You can use 2 simple ZIP files to root your Note now. See Dr Ketan's thread in the dev forum. (Edit: reading the thread, Entropy has said the touch-CWM zip isnt safe as it still has the brick bug, so you probably don't want to do it that way after all!)

You can leave Kies installed - that's not your issue - but the phone does indeed need to be in download mode... Hold volume down, power and home buttons at boot up to enter download mode. From there you can connect your phone to the PC and launch Odin to connect.

Just a few rows beneath your question lies the answer [Locked Bootloader]CWM recovery 6.0.2.8 for locked bootloaders v4[25-03].
Kindly do not post questions in the developer forum. Only things of substance here.

Wrong section but with locked bootloader you can only install stock based roms. Aosp based roms wont work.
I have to send in my phone to the service center and there are only a few days left of warranty.
I am sorry if this is a totally worn-out question but I couldn't find a thread that addressed both of my concerns.
I want a way to unroot and flash a stock firmware. ( I am running a custom rom and kernel as well)
Links to guides would be much helpful. Keep it simple cause I am just a layman
So a simple guide to unroot and flash stock firmware/kernel, please. And thank you.

Yeah no need to post a thread for this. Read @dr.ketan's sticky thread.
Why should a new guide be given to you here when there is already a comprehensive one?

If you flashed ics then flash GB rom and then go into recovery and wipe data and cache. Do the same if on jb.

Follw through the guide it will help you...
http://dottech.org/147327/how-to-root-moto-x-on-android-4-4-kitkat-guide/
The only way to root 4.4.4 is if you can unlock your bootloader.... And if you can, go to the One Stop Shop root thread in general and follow the unlocked bootloader section.
