Macbook syncing - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am trying to sync my macbook pro with my Note and cannot seem to find the answer.
This is my first post so maybe I am not looking in the correct place.
I need to get my photos from my phone to my computer without purchasing Missing Sync or other 3rd party software.
Thanks

Enable debugging mode on your note then start using adb commands. Work on win/Mac/Linux.
Alternatively enable debugging mode then go connect it via micro USB and from the notification bar select usb drive then "mount usb storage". The notes internal storage should then pop up.
Hope this helps

I have KIES AIR pre installed on my phone, is that better or worse than the airdroid?
I guess I just do not know how to properly use it. I have had an iPhone for a few and have not done any cool phone things since my HTC touch pro2.
SO once i get past that fact that all of my phone mods are not nice little CAB file hook ups and learn how to change the ROM on this bugger I have to deal with the stock boredom
THanks

I do not see my note after doing that
I tried that before and did the bluetooth route as well
I just want to sync files and photos and this seems to be such a major task.
Part of why i got that stupid iPhone for ease of use, but could not make calls for crap on that phone.

Working
Figured it out, thanks

App that securely mount the tab as a network drive.

For mac users, its a pain to connect via usb, as mac osx does not support mtp connection.
Mac users who wish to mount your galaxy tab as a network drive via macfusion (http://macfusionapp.org/).
You can get the following app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=berserker.android.apps.sshdroid
This app basically setup a ssh server on your tab.
Now i can stream music/video from my tab wirelessly to my mac, as well as access my files use any native mac osx application.. ie using Preview to look at pdfs.
PC users who wish to use this might want to look into how to mount remote ssh server as network drive. (http://dokan-dev.net/en/).. which i havent tried yet.
I would recommend SSHelper as well, at least it doesn't force you to enable ads.

What is the best app for Note 9 to Windows 10 PC connectivity? MS Your Phone, AirDrd?

What is the best app for Android to Windows 10 PC connectivity? MS Your Phone, AirDroid?
The features of Your Phone or AirDroid look fine but are there more robust ways to connect and work with my phone during the business day?
Are any of the TeamViewer products good at this?
Samsung Sidesync used to be good but the new version is very stripped down.
Have now switched to Dell Mobile Connect. Works very well, and has all features - notifications, mirroring, calling and texting, document drag and drop.

samsung flow works good between my S3 tab, SB2 and GN9. give that a try.
Dell mobile connect is great. Phone companion is great as well.
You could also have a look at vysor.. works over wifi aswell as wired
But pro version needed for all features
I'm looking for a good PC <-> Android Sharing app too (mostly for sharing link, text, files etc) . I used to use Pushbullet but ever since they went "Pro" the free version is useless.
Try Your Phone Connection by Microsoft if you have a Windows PC
Vysor seems really cool, especially if can do over wifi
Is it the best of that type (literally an emulator of your phone in a window)?
Android File Transfer?
Simple & reliable.....
WiFi File transfer Pro. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smarterdroid.wififiletransferpro&hl=pl easy to use and i have this for long time now.
I Found an app called "Join" (by Joaoapps the Tasker app developer). So far seems very good...
Can I make calls with Note 9 and Your phone on Windows 10 with bluetooth dongle?

My Phone Explorer is the best I've found
https://www.fjsoft.at/en/
I have an Airdroid subscription, but lately I use Join.
I havent seen any better app than KDE connect/GSConnect
I started using File Manager by Mobile Clean System Lab. I feel like I get a lot of ads on it, but I just BACK out of those.
With it, there's an option to start a FTP server, which I do. Prior to this, you have to have your Wi-Fi turned on, and connected to the same network as your Windows 10 PC. Then, on your Windows 10 PC, you navigate to your phone's IP address (preceded with "ftp://") to view your phone's folders (i.e. ftp://192.168.1.23:2211, where 2211 is the default port number). I still haven't figured out how to navigate to the MicroSD Card, and I'm not sure there is a way without root. Basically, though, you would use Windows Explorer to navigate to this window, and then open up another instance of Windows Explorer to Copy To/From files.
Mind you, this solution works for me, from home. Not sure how it would function within a business environment, considering you'd have less control over port access/firewall settings.

Usb on P30 Pro

I want to start using USB OTG on my P30 Pro which has EMUI 10.0.0. I have ordered a suitable cable and while waiting for it went to set it up in settings. I understood I should be looking for it in 'more settings' or 'additional settings' but my main settings menu has neither of those. I enabled developer settings but couldn't see anything there. Is OTG enabled by default or is there a setting I'm not finding?
what do you want to use the OTG for?
standard storage appears after connecting (similar to memory card)
OTG is enabled by default, there's no need to change any additional settings. Once you connect a USB storage device, it should show up under the file browser app.
My father has a Huawei p30 pro.standard storage appears after connecting,He likes to store photos
Same for other USB-OTG features such as GPS dongles, HDMI cables and so forth. Just plug and go. Welcome to the 21st century.

Question Howto use DeX to connect to PC on S8

Question: How does one use Samsung Dex to connect Galazy Tab S8 to the PC like one does with the Samsung phones.
Objective is to make the office laptop redundant and do most of the work on the Tab and then synchronize the tab data to the laptop (Files etc..) so that the same can be put on the office NAS.
Further, is there any way files / data form the laptop can be accessed via the Samsung phones / tab so that the need for carrying the office Laptop is eliminated.
You can access files on your pc via smb and a supported file manager. The default file manager on tab s8 has a network manager option, just set the ip and it will connect to your smb share folder.
You can access files remotely via vpn if you are away from office/home.
Thanks Vangry. I tried the above, but was unable to connect to share folder of PC. Was able to connect the shared folder from another PC but not from the Tablet. Also tried Android SMB client like AndSMB.
The company IT team also tried and we used our office Linux machines to check SMB connects which worked but not the Tablet.

Try FX file manager app from playstore. No issues connecting to Windows 11 PC via smb.
