Battery you're using and the life you get out of it - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all. I'm curious how many of you are using your stock Captivate batteries or have purchased different higher capacity ones and what kind of life you get from them? (Particularly those running an ICS from with and without oc/ov/uv)
The stock battery is supposed to be a 1500 May capacity but there are many others out there.
I was lucky to get a full day or get into a second day without charging on stock battery. I then found a great place online with good replacements at different capacities for good prices and got some backups.
Just the 1750 May I got first was decent and was noticeable improvement and I just recently got a new 2200 May that came with a new back cover cuz it was tiny bit thicker to accommodate the higher yield and that one is great for getting two days plus...more if I UV, battery save profile and don't over use.
Battery life on my SGSICS on stock Platypus kernel was great and 1-2 days but once over to Glitch kernel that dropped dramatically until I got the new battery. But now that v14 b5 is out it is better on battery life and I now run it at 1.54Ghz beautifully and have found good voltages and battle life is easily into 2nd day again.
Curious to hear what some of you have for batteries and life cycles u get....

Seidio Innocell 2000mAh questions

Hi there I've been looking around for a good extended battery for the mytouch so far but there seems to be a lack of reviews for many of them. The one I am considering is the Seidio Innocell 2000mAh battery in the following link, Price aside, does anyone have this battery and notice a sizable difference in the performance and life of the phone? Any thoughts?
Well since nobody seems to know about this extended battery I'll be purchasing one soon and doing a full text and video review for anyone interested in sticking to their mytouch but want a longer battery life.
You didn't provide us with a link D: But i'm pretty sure it makes your phone thicker. As for improved battery life, i have no idea. It'll probably give you a few more hours? That's my best guess.
I only tried the Mugen battery.Almost the same capability as stock one, only slightly more.
I could feel btw it lasted a couple hours more than the stock battery.
The moment of the truth with that came months after purchase: it began lasting the half of its usual time. Hope that from Seidio it's not the same.
Anyway I can bring it along with me on journeys and use it if I need more juice.
What I say is: reviews in my case where flawed and useless, you have to wait some months to discover its quality, and of course use the battery wipe function on the Amon Ra recovery.
Cheers.

Here is a link, the company seems to get pretty decent reviews
So I just received the extended battery yesterday, first impressions are pretty favorable. It increases the size of the phone about 33% (guestimation) but nothing to bothersome after awhile. For comparison it is about the same thickness as a sidekick 08 that I found in my drawer. So far the battery life does seem to be improved but I can't be sure until I run it through a few cycles and use it for awhile. More in-depth review coming soon.

[Q] Batteries: Extended and Kernels

So I have been running two 3500mah batteries from 2 different vendor and one hold a lot more charge than the other, probably a faulty one. Went ahead ordered two more extended for longer usage.
Does anyone have really good experience from ebay seller that you get the same consistent quality every time you order or is it a hit / miss situation?
Can the kernel play any role on a different capacity battery?
People that run multiple 3500 mahs, do they run relatively same? do you wipe battery stat every time you swap?
I can get 40-50 hrs with light wifi radio use
I got a good battery from http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260798018307&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
a bad one from http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220771384257&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
It's only bad because it doesn't hold as much charge, and when you use it for a a few task the battery would drop 1-3% just because maybe using it updated the percentage? but this happens a lot after it goes on stand-by.
It could've just been a bad batch.
The kernel definitely doesn't effect battery capacities; however, I do believe it can effect the rate of consumption depending on the coding, if I'm not mistaken. During my experiences with eBay non-oem batteries is that they aren't great quality and fail a hell of a lot faster than oem batteries. I do a lot of research before I buy so that's saying something...hope this helps
Theoretically the battery can last longer or shorter depending on that setting.
The oem does pretty well holding its charge.
How long does your battery last and which rom?
Where do you get your supply from?
Model : EB575152VA is what I'm seeing being sold from a few places and what came with my phone.
Wonder if that's what you have?

[Q] New Battery

How soon should you change a battery for the I9000.
I have my phone over a year and a half now and I'm starting to notice a bit of a drop off in the battery performance. I'm lucky enough that I'm almost always near a charger so I can plug it in when it gets low but I have noticed that the battery is starting to get tired.
Just buy a new battery. They only cost 5€ at Amazon.de
I have 3 batteries now after a year and two chargers one that is close to new is samsungs 1 ampere, my first battery original 1500mah wasn't used much. I'm pretty sure battery lasts no more then 6 months and after that they just start on dropping power.
jetpack101 Do You really use 2.3.3 firmware ? if that so pretty please flash 2.3.6 as fast as You can because 2.3.3 was the version that destroyed my Andida battery, it is the worse in battery usage ever, whole 2.3.3 family was!
By the sound of it, I got lucky with my battery
I would definitely agree, you got pretty lucky to only now begin noticing a drop off in capacity.
They're so cheap for our device though, thankfully. I was shocked when I first looked them up.
Only updated to darky 10.4.2
Firmware 2.3.6 last sunday.
Have to say, it's pretty sweet

sure.. lithium batteries degrade after a while... buy an extended battery and never worrie about your battery again.
what if battery status is reported as good health?

I changed mine after 1.5 years (would consider myself a medium user) to the official samsung 1800mA battery, and it was a great change. Depends how much longer you are planning to use your phone (a while for me). I also wouldn't change it if its any earlier than 1 year old

eCell extended battery

I recently bought one of the eCell Gold 4500mah extended batteries from Amazon. When I looked this morning they were no longer in stock. It is an extended battery that uses the stock battery door. Just barely. It is a very tight fit. But I had my doubts as to it really being 4500mah. I just finished my 3rd charge cycle on it and I must say that I am impressed with the results so far. The majority of the screen on time was using FBReader to read a book. I also did some gaming, interenet browsing, texting, and made a few phone calls. I don't know how long it will hold up. I will report that after a month of use.
Does NFC work?

Is the battery physically larger than the stock one? If it isn't I doubt it's 4500mah...as many "gold" batteries claim much more life but use the same size.
Could you post pictures of this battery side by side with the stock one?
Do you have a link to where we can get one?

I don't think you should trust that "Battery Management" app to actually give you the capacity for the battery you use. In that app, you actually type in 4500 mAh for what you think the capacity is and then the app just estimates drainage around that number. It's not reliable to measure the mAh for a battery this way.
From looking at your Android battery usage breakdown, it doesn't look any different than what a stock battery would do. Your on screen time looks particularly low for a 4500 mAh battery should provide and looks in line with the battery stats in the battery stats thread where people use stock 3100 mAh batteries.
Don't know about NFC as I don't use it. Physically it is slightly larger than the stock battery. I don't know where you could get them now. I got mine from amazon. As far as the capacity, I doubt it is much better than stock but for me it is getting about the same or a little better on screen time as my stock battery did. Maybe the stock battery I got wasn't that good but I couldn't get 8 hours of screen on time from it. The eCell was only $20 so that is not a bad price. For a gold battery the performance is pretty decent.

[Q] Help discover version and stock rom - battery n performance horrible

Hello People, here's the deal. I've just bought a note 1 n7000 used. The guy who sold me it said he was using another rom and that he had returned it to stock rom.
I'm having serious battery issues, my battery is lasting around 2 hours with light use. At the same time that the performance of the cell phone is not that good.
When I bought it it came with a strange setting for the letters on screen. everything looked like comic sams, I ran quadrant benchmark and it scored 4400 so I factory reset it trhough the settings menu. Then I felt like it wasn't the same perfomance and ran quadrant I got 3900 I installed all my apps and stuff felt it wasn't running nicely and reset again, now through recovery mode and did cache wipe. ran quadrant again and the score was 3600.
Then i looked forward to install a safe and root kernel from the beginners guide here in xda... it's now rooted, but then I realised that the kernel I'm using is from mexico (N7000UBLS4 - TCE) and my cell phone is actually from Brazil (I'm from Brazil). Inside the battery case it says SSN: -n7000GSMH (which is not an option in philz kernel list)
Well now I'm in doubt if these performance and battery life issues are relative to this and what should I do to have it completely stock with, let's say a brazilian stock. Or if I can just flash another rom.
Just one more thing: My n7000 was saying that my battery was at 70% I took it out and tested with a multimeter and it checked 3,94v. I found it really strange since the battery was supposed to be 3,7v and it was at its 70% ??
Is this the case to a battery stats wipe?
Thank you a lot
------
Edit
I have installed sweet v10.5 black and the performance seems a little worse... the battery too, now if I'm hooked to the notebook and using it, it goes all the way down to 0%.... the only possible way to charge it is with the phone off.
I'm seriously thinking about returning the phone... Although I really enjoy the idea of having the note... the big screen is awesome. But with a low performance and 2 hour battery... come on.
The batteries on these things only last 6mo-1yr really
I'm on my 3rd battery after less than 2 years.
You should get one day with moderate use on JB..2 days on ICS and 4+ on GB
That's with just moderate use...
2 anker batteries on amazon.com is $20US
