Hi,
I moved some larger games from the USB storage to SD card, and next thing I noticed is they're all corrupted - icon turns into grey color.
Some will keep their name, while some will display (I'm guessing) the codename in the background.
I've tried re-formatting the SD card from the phone but the corruption continues.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Have you rebooted your device and reinstalled the apps?

Hello ,
Same issue overhere , was thinking it was the app : app2sd or a bad memory card.
It got even worse with a very hot NOte at the place where the simcard is, even got the screen in bad colours, read ,light colouring where red is pink .
So i did a hard reset ,all programs wiped out ,formatted the storages and now no problem at all anymore.
Even the battery isnt empty after a day.
I am so anxious to install any new apps ,so its now an empty note .
What's worth an empty note without apps?
So i am wondering too what's wrong.
kernel has xxla6.
greetz.

Yes, I've tried rebooting many times (my Note crashes occasionally causing auto-reboot too).
Must I wipe the entire phone / re-flash? I'm just unsure how good the Kies backup/restore is... it's a hassle to re-install everything back.

Every once and a while my apps that are installed on my sd card will mess up, usually after a reboot. By mess up I mean that the icon on the launcher will be the generic android logo and it will be listed on the sd card with a name that looks like com.rovio.angrybirds.
Uninstalling the apps and reinstalling them fixes the problem temporarily, but the apps will still disappear eventually plus I lose all my saved data.
I've seen similar topics that talk about launcher pro causing the problem, but this is different: the installation of the apps is actually messed up.
I'm using a Nexus One with stock 2.2.1 build FRG83D. Thanks for any help you can offer.
When you reboot, give it an extra 30 seconds before you unlock and start using the phone. This will give the phone time to read your card...
Might wanna try a faster card, also.

I tried resetting the phone four or five times and waiting about a minute each time and the apps still didn't show up correctly.
I'm using the stock card, is it really that slow?
Your SD card might be at fault. Reformatting the SD card might help.
I tried doing that a few days ago when the same problem ruined almost every app on my phone. I did a factory reset at the same time and reinstalled every app that I had, just to be sure.
Hi guys!I was just wondering if any of you guys ever had you're galaxy note randomly restarting by itself? It happened to mine a couple times, and just happened again today, right when I just finished downloading the update. The screen turn black right away (at first I thought out was the auto screen off, but it actually restarted). Kinda upset about it

You can read about my own journey down this path on this thread...

My phone also have this random restarting issue. It is :
Gingerbread
Rooted
It's got 16GB sd card
I don't have app2sd installed (but I do have titanium backup and Gemini app manager installed, and have some apps moved to sd).
The last time my phone restarted by itself was on phone network NOT wifi. I was downloading update for an app that is stored on the sd card.

Hi everyone,
I have dug through the forums a bit in search of Galaxy note issues especially in relation to the microSD. I am running atm a 4.0.3 ICS stock (downloaded from the samsung update), I have rooted the phone and all was great.
However, the past couple of weeks I have gotten to the stage were the phone just freezes, force closes a random app and when I come to close it it freezes even more and gets reset to the lock screen menu, with all my status icons on my notification bar getting cleared and restarting. Now this happens regularly every 2 minutes restricting me from doing anything.
I took out the microSD card and it works quite smoothly, my microSD is a 32gb Adata, class 10. I formatted it and it worked clean, I then returned the stuff I had on it and voila problem returned. Now I removed a ton of apps on it and it started working well again for 2-3 weeks. Anyhow again I have the same issues and I really don't want to go through the hassle of the above. I just figured to see the take of the various members here perhaps some would be more convenient.
Thank you in advance for any help provided.
Kind regards,
Once when I had been to Samsung service centre there was one guy who had come for this same problem
The Samsung guys factory resetted his device and again installed a fresh copy of software.....and things started worthing for him
Although he lost all his data
But beware to factory reset because of brick bug issue...

Thank you very much for your report.
I have actually formatted my microSD card and factory reset my galaxy note and tbh (I think the biggest issue is cleared a majority of my apps) and yah it's running smoothly for the time being day or so now, which is good news.
Hi
I have a i9305 rooted, with TWRP recovery and Rix rom v3.0. I have tried diferent versions and an other custom rom.
One week ago, every time my mobile is locked for at least 10-20 min, when unlocking it say "Cards was removed"
and then "Mounting SD-card". Its so anoying.
But the worst symptom is that the SD-card issue is making my phone hang after longer sleep times.
Example: In the morning when the alarm rings (and wakes the phone) the screen becomes unresponsive.
The sleep/wake button works but screen, back, menu and home button are unresponsive.
I have read in other forums about S3:s and other phones that are "eating" sd-cards. I dont hope my phone is one of those.
Any one have heard of this?
EDIT 1: The problemative SD-card is Sandisk:s latest 32GB microSD. I now changed to my old cheap-o-brand 8 GB microSD. And so far it seems to work flawlessly. I will continue the test.
EDIT 2: So far i have discovered that tha hanging of phone more likely depends on some thing else then the Sd card. With my "new" 8gb sd card the hanging occurs anyway despite the unmount problem now is gone. I have now uninstalled jkay delux app cous i think its the problem.
We will see soon.
Regards
Jonas
I have the same issue as well
using persus rom reduce the problem but not all
Now i get another sd-card

Hi all,
Have been flashing roms for a while now, using slim bean in wife's i9000 and I have just changed over from ADC team 10.1 to unofficial liquid smooth on my i9001. Flashed a lot of roms on my i9001, often just due to small lags or glitches. Maybe the number of flashes could be part of my problem so here goes.
Quite often and randomly, so different ROMs etc, internal SD card becomes unmounted and I don't know how to fix but I think I usually just reflash. Sometimes whole apps will disappear too, ironically xda always seems to be the one and it occurred to me this morning could the missing apps be due to the unmounted sdcard, as in apps installing to SD card go missing?
So questions:
Why does SD card unmount?
Are apps disappearing related?
Can I fix without flash?
Is this a prelude to SD card failure due to too many flashes?
Thanks all, need to use up data quota by tomorrow so going to update ROM thought I should pose questions first as will have an impact on what to do next.
Eagerly awaiting your expert responses.

Just to update all, switched phone off to swap to my wife's full battery and phone was off a few minutes. Switched phone OK and SD card is back, since I wrote the first post has happened a couple if times, a reboot doesn't clear out but leaving the phone off for a minute or two with the battery pulled seems to fix it. Also does seem to be the missing apps is related to sdcard.
Should I worry about hardware failure?
Still awaiting any responses!
