[Q] Volume not loud enough in Android ICS - TouchPad Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running on ICS alpha 2 on the Touchpad and the maximum volume is much lower than it was in WebOS with the volume patch. Is there anything similar for Android?

There are several apps in market that will help. Do a search for 'volume' and take your pick.

Increasing ring volume

Does anyone know how to disable the Increasing volume ringtone, I work in a loud enviroment and I dont normally hear the phone till its to late, and I can never feel the vibrating ringer either.
So just wanting to know if there is anyway possible to have just instant max volume ringtone
Anyone?????? ;-)
What you can probably try is look for after market apps which increase the volume on your ringtone but I'm not sure if that is capable. You could try different vibrator apps which vibrates in different sequences.
Doubt if any sound managers will help..the speakers are not so great..even the vibrate is mild compared to other devices..
Don't really know what u can do..

The same problem here. After flashing DjangoManouche 1.1 - Final Release. (EXT3 Stock + 95Mb Compcache No Overclock), I have the ringtone gradually increase for a couple of seconds before it reaches the full volume. Is there a way to fix it? Some MOD or app to deal with the issue?

The solution when using stock roms is to use this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...p.disableincreasingring&feature=search_result
It works like a charm on ICS Stock or modified. :good:
Use kowalski kernel and there you can increase more the speaker volume and the headphone volume than the stock is
you may also use alsa mixer from the Android market, with kowalski kernel works great
I have best volume now with dm 1.5 and kowalski kernel :good:

[Q] Asylum CM10 - max volume at 50% volume

I'm running CM10 (Asylum, standard Kernel) when watching a video or listening to music the volume doesn't increase after 50%, it seems like it hits max volume at 50% and is loud enough for me at this point but it's just annoying as it reduces the steps between volume levels below.
I tried searching XDA and Google but can't find anything on this. Anyone experienced the same thing - is there anyway to rectify this?
Currently running Asylum CM10 v5, issue was also present on v4 and a previous CM10 ROM I tried (can't remember which - think it was BlackCNA / Utacka's PA).
Thanks
sorry forgot to say this is when listening with headphones plugged in, the volume increase is linear using the built in speaker
I got same problem on CM10 ..

[Q] Low volume CM10

2 days ago I switched from another custom rom (forgot the name..) to CM10 (Fresh install).
I used the most recent version back then (24th September).
But I've got some audio problems, the volume is way too low.
I used volume+ to boost it a bit, but it barely helps, because it distorts the clear sound.
I haven't had any volume problem on any other rom.
Anyone that can help me out?
Yup compared to the volume quality of cm9 that is almost like an iPod. Do not use any equalizer it only damages phone speaker and your headset.

[Q] Loudness Patch?

Hi,
GNote's speaker volume is okay but not loud enough for me. Is there a patch that I could flash to increase the volume everywhere (ringtons, songs etc..) like there is one for Galaxy Nexus?
Thanks
You can try flashing an equalizer like Awesome Beats (search the forum for it). It will for sure improve the quality of the sound output, but not the volume itself. Try it and see if it's enough. If it isn't, you can try flashing a different ROM, specially non-Samsung ones (e.g. CM9, CM10 etc.), because since they probably use different sound drivers, there could be a difference (if it will be better or worse, I don't know, and it may be overkill to flash a new ROM just for it). Other option would be to use an external speaker, there are many models available.
Anything that "improves" the sound will most likely reduce the volume than increase, I suppose.
CM10? Its a nightly and I'm a bit reluctant to use something thats not stable yet.
External speaker at all times? I mainly need it for the ringtone.

Nexus 7 volume solved in CM10?

Just landed here tired of the low volume of my Nexus 7. It sucks. With the original software one could install apps that increased the volume (Volume+ etc.). After updating to 4.2.1, these apps don't work anymore (Is Google caring about my hearing habits and becoming more like Apple?). The thing is that for the use I give to my, otherwise lovely, Nexus 7 I need a higher volume !!!
My question is does anyone know here if rooting the device and installing CM10 will allow the old apps (Volume +, Volume booster) to be effective again into boosting the volume of the device?
Thanks
