Yeah, it's really common in WM phones, I used to use HTC touch pro.
And I heard, in some third party roms like CM and modoco etc. they have this function default in their roms, I just wondering if it's too difficualt to migrate to unrooted stock rom?
I know 2.1 had this feature.. But since 2.2 the feature is gone.. Maybe in the official update..
I want this so back so badly. Especially when I am calling and it would vibrate when the other person would pick up and also when they hang up.

yea i had this feature on cyan 2.1 but not on froyo. a minnor feature that is nice to have.
I have posted this same message in different forums, but no one answer. Since this function can be realized in third party roms, why there's no one bring it to stock rom? has it to be rooted to have it?
Can anyone answer this question?

I tried it on a broken beats Rom - Joelz TwoPointThree 3.5.
It flashed, the boot initially took a little longer but I went to try it and no sound. Should I try a different player instead of stock or a different Rom? I was thinking of switching to ICS momentarily because Newts 3.5 has gone broken on me.

Just flashed this on a new flash of the official CM 7.1. I haven't had any trouble with music playing or clipping. Just pure sound. Albeit I did not do a comparison so I cannot say if I hear a difference in quality but I am happy with it and will continue to flash it.
What is really Beats by Dre? Sorry

well if the rom didnt have working sound before its not going to give it to it now. so i guess it needs to be cm7
Can someone else confirm that this works on another GB incredible build???

did you try it?
Can i get a link to the original post? I dont feel like making an account on another site just to get a file.
edit: nm with googles help i found the file, i can confirm it works on miui
Joelz new 3.5 had a broken beats file allowing it to not work. Now I switched to cm7, listened to the music first. Very shotty headphones (ifrogz) as my latest earphones died on me.
The sound was eh.. flashed this beats zip and came back to hear it, the clarity and quality increased so much. Should note there is a tolerable difference when not using headphones as your speaker phone may actually sound like bass. Well at least I can gear it, I will try it on Joelz 3.5 again. Cause there is no notification or anything say it works its difficult to pinpoint if it only works on stock players or various ones.
I am hopefully getting new earphones tonight, JVC Xtreme Explosives is what I'm looking at.

I've been using this mod since I saw it on the portal the other day. (or twitter. I can't remember)
It really does make quite a bit of a difference. For you guys trying it out, use nicer headphones. The difference is marginal on $15 skullcandy buds, but on high end speakers, it's really noticeable. Definitely worth the flash.

Here's the file, no need to register somewhere else....
Just flashed it, does this add a menu entry/some new setting to the interface or no?
Can anyone confirm this working (and making a difference) with Gingerbread-Inc-Deck?

May i send to my ladies phone, sir? I have tested side by side with same phone using same ROMs (CM7 newest nightly) using 115 by Treyarch (yes the Black Ops zombie song) and quite a noticeable difference. Also not sure, but I had tested started with volume at 50% and my phone with the zip was louder by 2 notches (decreased volume to regulate) and her phone at 100% was to mine at 80%. I do not use DSP manager as I get a weird noise from it after any sound from speaker ends. Anyone else experience similar volume performance?
is there any Spirit like FM radio for icssgs build available?
i had flash my sgs i9000 with icssgs and trying to listen the radio but it is not working.
everything is working fine in icssgs but i need FM radio.
thanks in advance
You can use spirit fm on all roms, but it's the only well-working fm for non-stock roms.

So, I read warnings on this forum , and complaints of some users that the speaker is broken, I gave up after! Otherwise, I used it a short period, and never had a problem! Which version Spirit you use?!

That's impossible without tw framework. There are a few ics roms using it, I beliefe stock fm works on them.

So much rage again I Like it )
When you enable overclocking (so useless) in a rom, you're a god ... but when you criticize overclocking because it's USELESS and optional for a rom ... you're an evil guy ... LOL ...
FM Radio = USEFULL
Overclock = USELESS
But people here like burn their battery for some Mhz LOLLLLL
I personnaly find OC usefull and FM soooo useless .

I also killed my speaker with SpiritFM
Now its still works but with crackle and distorted sounds come from it on maximum sound volume. So don't use SpiritFM with Samsung Alsa settings. It's really dangerous!
bump... so any chance for a decent fm radio app for ics?
I'm felling lucky I use Spirit FM on AOKP (build 28) and my phone's speaker still working
I don't know why the developer of Spirit FM don't use the same way as any Music app to output the sound

what op says is right
I have tested spirit FM in spice mi410 with cm7.2 it works flawlessly... but only in loud speakers with head phones connected. crackling sound in ear piece.
tried even in ICS. some times boot loop after granting su. to avoid boot loop ,grant superuser permission individually (don't tick while granting su permission) for spirit to work
current version of spirit(compatible with HTC one X) fm works even without su permission spirit receives signal but no audio output.in speaker /ear phones. spirit dev mike did quoted it should work in our device. where the fm receiver of one X and u9000 is similar. but unfortunately not working...

Well mate some people just done know how things are done right.
Mike has updated this app and the latest version has settings for this handset related hardware aswell. You must be aware as you seem to keep a follow up.
In settings he has mate this handset and chipset variants available so that FM related issues are solved. Those on CM 7 also have options. Just proper tweaking is essential.
Hope you have tried that? Do update us with your views on it

Just for clarification, some people have reported Spirit FM breaking their phone's speaker, very small percentage mind you, but enough to not risk it...
In short, don't use Spirit FM with your phone speaker and you'll be fine.

The FM radio drivers are closed source drivers from Samsung and thus very hard to port.
You may use Spirit FM but it can break your phones speakers so I wouldn't use it.

Nobody has ever explained why this is. Does it somehow magically force the speaker voltage to go ridiculously high or somehow bypass the maximum volume? Can any care to explain how an app can physically break your speaker
