Just curious who in here has tried one of these newer ics roms...or both?
DK is on newer firm 4.0.4 I believe and slim is still 4.0.3? They both report to be quite fast.
So if you've tried and have any feedback or opinions, please post. Thanks

Why don't you try them both and make up your own mind?
That's the great thing about roms...if you don't like one, they are more just a flash away.

Ya ya I know and I will but also like to hear feedback from what others are saying as I always find out things I wasn't aware of even after I've tried myself.
Outside of that what is the difference from ics 4.0.3 and 4.0.4? Minor stuff I'm sure and mainly 4.0.4 doesn't have a lot of kernels and mods for it yet I assume

Slim has a LOT more memory available. I can multitask this sucker to death and it doesn't break a sweat or start closing apps.
If you want feedback on the roms....read their respective threads, I'm sure there is plenty in there.
I totally second Time_Zone. SlimICS doesn't know the definition of lag!

I've been reading a lot of posts lately of people wanting to go from CM7 to stock 2.3.3. Why would someone do such a thing? Am I missing something??

They don't want to use or don't know about the Dewonkificator and because of the wonks are willing to go stock. They think battery life sucks on CM7 and want better battery life with stock. They want the latest Android version. They use only RC or Stable versions of CM and therefore don't know about the improvements in the nightlies after RC1.
I would like to try stock for few days just for comparison and most likely go back to CM7 after that.
I have never heard of call wonks. What are they?

Gremlins that inhabit the CM7 ROM. They often run amok when you make or receive calls.
I think it only affects the stock dialer though. I use CM7 for daily use and have for a while now, and have seen a wonk once. It was ugly.
Dialer One didn't have any issues to my knowledge.
I've been using the stock dialer more on CM7 then I have in the past with little to no issues, although I don't call that often.
Cyanogen is the best
Hmm when i flash an other ROM then Cyanogen it feels wrong for me.
Imo Cyanogen is for me the way how Android must looks like.
I've been thinking about buying myself a new device but then i thought: "There will be no Cyanogen on it and maybe they wouldn't support it". So i wait for the next Googlephone.
My N1 will survive another year.
Great thanks to the Cyanogen team for this great job no one make a better one!!!
where's the tutorial of CM7 to stock 2.3.3..
i want to try it.. anyone please copy the link..
Backup followed by flashing the GRI40 zip from the development forum.

Good to see you back around the Vibrant community Brick'd. What are the main changes in this firmware upgrade? I understand the browser, as the standard GB browser that's been floating around sucks. Just curious as to the benefits, and perhaps users will want to know the difference to help them determine a ROM to use as a daily driver.
Thanks a lot
Oh I almost forgot to mention, I do plan on putting out a stockish GB theme to go with this, its not in the works quite yet, but will be soon.

The differences in between XXJVQ and XXJVR are superb. It runs smoother and faster from what I've been experiencing. I am talking about my own personal builds here. I was running my own JVQ since last week, and this JVR puts it to shame. You have to try to it and see for yourself really.
As a daily driver, my phone has to be functional 100 percent for work. I have my email on an exchange push profile, and I need everything else to work without fc's. What I post out here is exactly what I run, and I hold it to a high standard for my own use, and yours as well.

Nice ROM, love the simplicity and hey any time you get over 3000 on a quad score is nice. Only problem i have is this new market, getting the same error on other ROMS with this new market ,receive the not enough space error .
UPDATE ON MAY 29, 2012: I'm sorry guys.
I won't be releasing my project. I'm actually stopping the effort to port the rom. I can't do it, it just is way too complicated to complete.
This means, until I decide to work on something new or find something worth porting, I am not developing for the D3 or Droid Bionic anymore.
I won't be picking up Motoblur + Android 4.0.4 either, so eliminate that question as well.
I hope you guys won't get mad.

I'm all for options, but Sense just isn't my cup of tea. Not to mention it would be Gingerbread based (I don't believe any HTC device currently has ICS), and many people (myself included) would see it as a step back.

What exactly has you hung up, as far as ICS is concerned (just a question)? Everything works, with the exception of face unlock, and some spotty bluetooth issues. Granted, I'm not overly familiar with the GSM builds and their respective bugs, but most people really seem to be enjoying the 4.0 builds...

My hope is that we see something completely new...not a port of an existing Galaxy Nexus ROM, but one built specifically for the D3 and other Moto devices. I would love to see something fresh and original, yet streamlined and efficient, that we can all enjoy.

The HTC One X has it Actually, I think all of the new HTC One series phones have it.
it's will be great if it contains a RTL & BIDI languages as well.....
I'm definitely interested. I prefer having full functionality for my phone, so the ICS ROMs are out for me for now, and I prefer the GB ROMs to be unthemed. It seems that all of the themed ROMs have something that I think looks mediocre (bad fonts that make it difficult to tell normal from bold, or that flow badly; on screen button elements that do not work right; mediocre battery indicators on the status bar; unattractive notification pull-downs; etc.)

i really hope its a good, multi-lang, gb 2.3.7 rom liek cm7.2 without any bloat like sense.
maybe even the hw-codecs and such are working?
btw. if you need a gsm guy for testing, msg me.
Here's an update:
This rom is a pain in the ass. It really is. So the chances of me completing this, with school and other things have gone down to about 20% from 70%.
But here are some details:
Gingerbread 2.3.6
Later Software from another device (I'm not naming it)
No GSM compatibility
Sorry GSM users, there isn't a way GSM will work on the rom until the device I'm porting this from is updated later this year.

Are you using the Bell or Chinese ROM? I worked on the Bell 2.3.6 port, and it worked, but my modding/theme-ing skills are weak, so it didn't move much past stock appearance with some build.prop tweaks.

Hey everyone,
There are probably a bunch of threads like this, but i'm limited on time that i spend freely on the net.
I'm currently running Temasek's 135.1 and his latest kernel....and well i'm getting, for a lack of better words, bored a bit...
Don't get me wrong, everything is running great and smooth..., i love it.
But, i dunno... my eyes want more candy i guess. Ice cream sandwich's, jellybeans....
Moving from Temasek 135.1, running ADW EX..... can anyone suggest something as stable and nice?
I've been tempted to try the CM9's and CM10's, but the lack of HWA is a bummer.
Is there anything worth using daily?

Try different ones see what fits you and what you like, it's not so hard changing ROMS
Thread Closed, try some and see which one suites you best.
I know that there are many experienced people her like Nooby, huexxx.. (that i know, maybe there are others too..)
I wanted to ask there are many users that have experienced both of them, in your opinion which one is better for normal use. Plus what is comparison between them

Let's say experianced noob ^^ well for a basic user, you can in fact use both... more battery, stock stability and compatibility are on zeus side. About more features and feeling cool and wanting the latest, take CM10 But you really should at least try both or even more. It took me really long to decide and in fact i am still changing quite often, to check out new features and development. Just install one, set it up to your needs, try/test it, back it up, flash another one, try it and decide whats best for you. You should also try ICS repack. If sms works fine for you, it should be one of the best daily drivers available till now (at least I liked pretty much, but sms doesnt work for me...) so have fun

I used zeus for performance and stability.. now im using cm10 for the looks and new feeling
I've already tried both and I can honestly said that Zeus is my fav. CM10 is still very buggy...
I used Zeus untill Aokp ics was released and now i'm on Aokp jb and i have tried cm10 to.
If you want stability use Zeus.
If you want to be up to date use cm10
well said by nooby and romwiz
zeus is more stable and cm10 is still a little buggy
i personally stopped using zeus since a week and am pretty happy with miui and cm10
if you don't game much, go cm10
if you game, go zeus and it has the same looks
I have tried both of them.
personally, i think Zeus is more suitable for me. It has a better performance and stability.
However, if u want to try the new functions, just go for cm10...
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk 2
I think ZEUS is for daily use (6.4 or 7.03) and all ICS, CM10 or whatever, you'll have to make some compromise in using your phone (no gps or no video, not being able to install the apps you want...).
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change the notification bar's function shortcuts in zeus, like in cm??
