you must have never seen Rosie working
but it looks promising, you are right. would be nice to have it on the blackstone.. but i am not convinced it will happen. :/
m900's UI looks disgusting
you already posted this same topic in all the Blackstone sections, why?
Looks bad imo, kinda like a beta for touchflow a couple of years ago. Also designed badly from a ui standpoint, most options like the album are full screen but effectivly only use 30% of it which is really inefficient and a waste.
Then again, nice find. Even tho to me its a failed attempt its good to see other manufacturers than HTC working on "fixing" WinMo.
it's definitely from the same authors of manila... lok at icons, shape and animations...
but really ugly
I quite positively hate it, seems awfully counter-productive to me. Manilla is pretty quick to get to your essential items like sms, contacts, email, weather etc, but you have to click all over the damn screen on that.
Anyone have a CAB of this

Looks terrible I would prefer to use titanium and I hate titanium quite a lot.
Manila for me please
The globe showing the location is alright but a novelty. On the whole I would say the interface is crap.
it s*cks bigtime
I like the concept, and quite like the design!
Without wanting to change the topic, I've begun - after trying perhaps 20 ROMs - to begin to wonder what's the point? Shave a bit of memory here, add or remove a program there - they are all much of a muchness (and that's not to give any disrespect to the aptl-named chefs, I am very much in love with some of them!)
But what I would like to see is more innovative attempts at changing the GUI, and I find this a good alternative to TouchFlo/6.5/PointUI/Spb etc etc. and this would be a fun port!
It sure is innovative but...
Its design looks a bit crappy to me. And not really that productive/fast to use.
So up to now i'd stick with TF3D still... Having tried pointui's home2, TF3D, iphone, spb mobile shell 3 i'd say the top two in productivity and looks are iphone's and TF3D.
Spb mobile shell pretty close too but some stuff really turned me off about it.
This one doesn't get close to any of these overall in my personal opinion...
Has anyone tested this SPB Shell 3D launcher (the final version) with our Fascinate phones? Is it worth the $15?
Check it @: http://spb.com/android-software/shell/
Let me know what you guys think? Will customizations be coming??
Looks way too fancy for me. I think the "neat" factor would wear out pretty quick. But that's coming from someone who used to use HelixLauncher. Besides, $15 is a bit outside my budget for an Android app, especially when it offers no additional productivity.

There are a few people in this thread that have tried it.
Tried it with the setup in my sig. No luck, blank screen then fc.

SCH-I500 - EB01 - SuperClean 2.9.2/JT's EC10 Voodoo/Nitro's Ultimate Honeycomb 3.12/Zeam Launcher
I used the beta for a bit, it was alright - definitely not worth 15$ in my opinion.
I like having an app drawer and just 3 homescreens to keep things clean and simple.
The coolest things in it were the animations/graphics and adjustable widgets. The novelty wears off pretty quickly and I went back to good old launcher pro after a few days.

I tried the beta for an hour or so. I thought it was kind of neat that you could reorder home screens pretty easily, but mostly to me it seemed like eye candy only. I do remember SPB being the bomb for other folks in my Omnia days, but that was comparing it to Winmo...
LauncherPro + is $3. SPB is $15. Hmmm...
$15.... and does not make coffee? Thats a shame.
Too expensive for me plus im sure its loose its flavor in a few days or weeks like everything else.

adw ex is a much better option and you could buy it 4x over
or use free launchers
its neat but at $15!?! that screams steal me on 4chan or something
I'd rather put $15 toward helping a dev hack it. I used the beta and it looks cool but...
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
Spb will cash in on the former winmo user base though. Not from me though.
good day.
I used the beta for a few hours. It was pretty cool but got old fast. There is no way I would pay $15 for it though.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I used it on my Omnia 2 in my winmo days. With so many good alternatives available now in android, no desire to use it in my droid days.
Not very good app.
First load is very slow. take very long time.
Really cool, but not $15 cool. Maybe if it were $4.99.
Alternative agenda..
Everything I've read points to the fact that they are hoping to get picked up by a manufacturer as a UI like Sense, Blur etc. This may be more of a feeler effort to see what the community thinks. But the $15 price tag is a bit over my beta testing tolerance lol. I mean really...15 dollars? (not to mention most people around here bellyache over apps costing a dollar or two so I don't understand their reasoning as far as pricing goes.) It is "pretty" but as far as increased functionality I don't see any benefit and all that prettiness has to be a resource gobbling monster. I'll stick with LPP does all I need and more.(especially when fede is doing a complete rewrite to LP )
pretty cool, no where near being worth $15 imo. The fact that you cant delete other screens as far as I can tell is really a deal breaker for me. I have no need for more than 1 screen though.
Guess I'm the only sucker who bought it. lol.
They made a lot of improvements over the beta. You now have 5 buttons on the bottom, two are changeable. There is an app drawer finally, and they fixed the screen reorganization and renaming issues. They also added a few more widgets, and the boot time is faster.
There's a lot I like about it, and a few I don't care for. Will be interesting to see what improvements they make from here.

From what you said, I can not imagine how slow the beta version is, as the release version is still too slow!
Hey guys, there a new 3D launcher available called Regina. It looks really amazing, and puts SPB mobile shell to shame. Best of all, its FREE!!!!. ill test it and post a feedback very soon. in the mean time do give it a try
"Regina 3D Launcher
A launcher that uses pure 3D graphics has arrived.
Regina 3D Launcher has exciting and dynamic 3D effects for your pleasure.
Browsing workspaces, creating shortcuts, and removing widgets have gotten a little bit more fun.
And that's not all, we have more great features that you might be interested.
Now experience the excitement and fun you can have with all the cool features in Regina.
Video demo of Regina Launcher can be found on YouTube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXhtxecPHr8
* Highlighted Features
- Intuitive 3D workspace browser
- Separate wallpaper for each workspace
- Secret workspaces where you can hide some of your app shortcuts and widgets for your privacy
- Regina widgets (full 3D widgets)
- All widgets and shortcuts can be positioned freely without much restrction in workspaces
- Uninstall apps from workspace directly
- Pleasant visual effects
* Notes
- First of all, select "Version x.x.x" item in Regina Settings menu and update all app in list.
- Supports Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread and tested on Galaxy Tab too.
- Live Wallpaper is not supported because of performance issue.
- Because Regina 3D Launcher is pure 3D graphics, your device must have a decent graphics chip to gain usable performance."
EDIT: Here's a video of some of the other improvements that the developers are working on:
http://www.youtube.com/user/NemusTech#p/a/u/2/HQu53fuzarE
first impressions are really good. the transitions between home screens are brilliantly fluid. the flipping of the digital clock is smooth most of the time but sometimes it does get a little choppy, but its easily overlooked. some niggly bugs, but they are easily overlooked. excellent eye candy. not many add-ons yet, but the available ones are brilliant with superbly smooth transitions and good animation. unfortunately everytime u launch an app ie text messaging, and go back to your home screen, it takes a while (ie a brief lag) before u get there. slightly annoying, but its nt sthg tht'll make u uninstall this otherwise magnificent launcher.
the weather application does not have very many cities yet, but im pretty sure all these minor things will be fixed in newer updates. the menu is a horizontal style transition with numbered pages, as opposed to the standard android style vertical scrolling. the translucent menu means the home screen is visible in the background...a rather nice touch
the theme application has some very pretty wallpapers to it. sadly though, i cant seem to synchronize the theme of the home screens with the lock screen, and unfortunately i cant seem to use the wallpapers that are already on my phone for the home screens. not a major issue, but a lil annoying.
all in all, i think for a free launcher, it certainly gives launcher pro, and SPB mobile shell, which are both paid apps a run for their money.
there is also word that it is open source, for themes and such, so devs take note
Final Word: in my personal opinion, i find this the best launcher i have used so far. and i do hope that the updates and bug fixes will be released sooner to make it even better.
EDIT: This application is especially brilliant for people looking for a good launcher but are unable to purchase applications from the Android Market due to the fact they come from countries in which google does not distribute applications just yet: ie Malaysia, Indonesia, China etc.
Thanks I'll test this

This home replacement looks just fine! I like it very much. The almost best feature is "hiding" shortcuts and widgets - very useful!

You can find the weather widget, calender and to-do list on the marketplace already. If u search for more products under the devs name you would locate it. However you need Regina launcher to be able to use those widgets. Regina widgets will not work with other launchers.

from what i hear this particular launcher is open source. so you could very well design your own widgets
I tried it...but it was slightly slower than Motoblur and LauncherPro. It is ok to live with but gets annoying after a while.
hi I'm currently using spb shell 3.5 but I saw that there are very beautiful skin also for wad2. so my question is which is better between this two program??? i saw spb shell is more expensive than wad, but I want an opinion from those who have used their which is the most customizable? which is the lightest at the startup?
thanks a lot
I used both. Each of them can be customized and there are plenty of themes floating around for both of them (a bit more themes for wad). I sticked to spb mobile shell cause it seemed a bit faster on my device (HTC Touch HD WM 6.1) and i think it's more eye-candy than wad

going back to the main question: WAD is very good customizable but SPB mobile shell is faster.
I have been forced to live SenseUI free and have returned to some of my old skinning apps that I used pre-Sense. One of those is Wisbar Advance, made by Lakeridge who also makes WAD.
My recent experience with Lakeridge is they are dead. I made a few posts there and received no replies. My last post was a request for updated skinning info which has been there, unanswered, for more than a week. The forum is flat, there is no support there anymore and no one is skinning it anymore. Worse, all the links to old skins are all dead. Only a small pittance of skins that have been posted to Lakridge's forums are still available for it.
Because of this I created a skin myself, ironically enough. I actually released it today. Its here. Gratuitous plug: here is the promo flyer for it. But, I think no one is interested given the lack of activity around Lakeridge's site itself.
So a big caution with WAD. Its a dead end. Personally I've never liked WAD, I found it very buggy, but this was like 2 years ago. I have always liked Wisbar Advance though, and used it extensively before I got a HD2 and Sense.
That is not to say that SPB is any better, though. The difference is SPB abandoned their customers long ago, so nothing much is different. See the conversation I had with Vostradamus in his thread towards the end. Maybe because of this, the skinning community for Mobile Shell is very much alive here at XDA.
Now that I have been using Mobile shell for a few months, I have to say, thanks to the great artists at XDA, I find I like Mobile Shell far more than I like SenseUI. I will never be going back.
i like both...especially SPB mobile shell
So I've been using Go launcher ex, and like it. I've used in the past LP+, and liked it.
I was pondering on purchasing SPB shell 3D launcher after the couple of highly regarded reviews.
So I started looking at some videos of other launchers. I found Nemus launcher and Claystone launcher to look pretty cool. I tried Regina launcher after watching a video and didn't like it at all.
Would like to see other launchers others have used that they have liked or didn't like.
modded TW launcher for all devices.. MY FAvorite... one of CHoice... recommended
QQLauncher.. pretty good
MIUI LAuncher 3.1.. just like miui no app drawer dont like the style... but runs well
netfront lifescreen.. cool idea... not super useful or intuitive
he Launcher 1/ he launcher 2... can make it look like stock GB or Froyo or any flavor of sense or Touch wiz
Itching Thumbs... like web os with task switching and killing
just to name a few.... just google em... to lazy to provide links and pics... haha
I'm using Go Launcher Extreme right now and think its the best thing ever.
SPB Shell 3D is a serious waste of money. Its all eye candy with limited features and I regret buying it every time I go to the Market.
LauncherPro was nice for its time, but feels and looks outdated.
ADW is similar to LauncherPro in this regard, but the EX version shows promise.
lol i use the spb shell 3d launcher and its juuuust fine for me. smooth and fast and very cool.

Free:
Adw- great dependable launcher. Has improved so much in performance. My recommendation for free launchers. If you get into the settings this launcher will go toe to toe with any free launcher.
LauncherPro-was my launcher of choice for a very long time but its developement has slowed almost to a halt. Still probably one of the smoothest launchers on market, especially for lower end devices due to the memory settings.
GoLauncher-eye candy. Its smooth and has plenty of nice animations and has themes. But, it lacks in performance compared to some of the others. Buts it not so bad that you shouldn't give it a try. And its a Go app, so you wont have to worry about support. These guys put in work.
Payed:
LauncherPro Plus-same thing but adds ability to resize Widgets and adds some nice themeable Widgets built in.
Spb shell 3D: $15!!!! But hey, think about it this way, it basically has a handful of apps you MIGHT have otherwise payed for with a different launcher built in and integrated seamlessly. Its beautiful and its super smooth. It puts itself in memory and appears to stay there so there's never any lag. If you're a constant themer or on a ramen noodle budget , avoid this one. I personally love it (and I went in skeptical about it).
A final note: those are just the ones I've tried for any amount of time and can remember. try em all. Mess around with em. On a high end device like this you don't need to worry about which one uses a little more memory. If you had a lower end device and a launcher you tried before didn't run so well, try it again on this device. The Thrill is beast enough to run any launcher well. If the launcher doesn't run well on this phone then its just a poor app. On my Aria I had to run launcherpro to get the best performance because I could tweak its memory setting to optimize it for that device and it actually out performed adw. On the Thrill adw blows lpp away performance wise. All these are better than the stock launcher IMO.

I just downloaded that SPB 3D launcher and it is QUITE sexy. It's more than I would ever need at one time (world time, weather with current temperature, recent texts in a rolo-dex form, etc) but it was quite responsive. It DOES take up more memory than some would have you believe (try 60+ megs).
Go Launcher EX seemed to be everything I wanted in a launcher. Responsive, able to customize anything, and the ability to skin widgets was very nice.
I've tried it spb launcher for free..
I suggest to download it from a torrent.. put it in your sd card, turn on airplane mode, and then play with it for a while.. see how you like it.. The reason why you turn it on airplane mode is because the android market will detect that you did not buy the item so you wont be able to use it.

Ahhh, the use of the word warez is waning. Nice to see it again. Hi warez how you been?
But, yeah, this is not a place for warez or warez guides. We develop and release open source and free only, I am sure everyone would like to keep xda as clean as possible since this is sort of our playground. No broken bottles of warez by the slidez please.
i REALLY like qq launcher, its fast ans looks more sophistiacated than the any of the others. regina is too, but it takes up a LOT of memory so its kinda laggy on the thrill.
I think the Guy who mentioned downloading spb for free was just suggesting a way to try it out so it wont be such a huge waste of money if you dont like it, as someone else had mentioned before because it is a bit expensive at $15 for a launcher
