Does fm radio active
The official specs page for the Droid 4 doesn't list FM radio but this old leaked image from a few months before the phone was released suggests that the hardware is there:

No idea how to enable it though. I tried installing the MotoFMRadio.apk but it force closes.
This does work with the proper app. I just installed Spirit FM Unlocked and it works. It's 10 bucks, but it's worth it, imo. There is also a light version that costs a little over $2 if I remember right. There's another app by the same name. What you want is one of the ones by Mike Reid. Root is required, btw.
Do you have to have headphones plugged in to use as an antenna?
Yes, it will not work without headphones in my experience. The app will start but will not find any stations.

Does to FM radio work only with ICS roms? Does newer builds (Marshmallow/Nougat) have support for FM radio?
It works for me on both CM11 and my own LineageOS 11 build using Spirit FM so it is definitely not limited only to ICS build or to stock based ROMs.
I haven't tested it out with newer Android versions, though.

Thanks for that info! I have tried with Lineage OS 14.1 build with Spirit2 but I get ERROR: "Tuner API did not start or stop. This device may need a kernel with a working FM driver". Maybe newer builds doesn't have kernel support for FM radio anymore?
I have tried Spirit FM (aka Spirit1) only, not the Spirit2.
Beside that, the Spirit2 has fewer models supported (or at least had when I have read about it a year or two ago).

I tried both of them but same error. I also tried MotoFMRadio but I wasn't able to install it.

Possible FM Radio for 2.2 tattoo Roms

"we talk with cyanogen and have submitted our FM app together with changes in kernel and framework blah blah into CM code tree, which is first 3rd party FM app not depending on HTC sense. CM has more platform support comparing with us, so by doing this, our FM will benefit users on more platform. "

now i will try it on stock rom.,.
edit: impossible to install
MIUI FM Radio APP can NOT run "alone".
It's needed to run it over MIUI Rom or one of the latest releases of CyanogenMod... so maybe the next step is compiling one of the latest nightybuilds of CM for our Tattoo.
You can read more about this app porting in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8583299
I've tried to compile it in SPQRom but it doesn't work, the code tries to search /dev/radio0 which we don't have. The FM firmware is not equal for all htc phones or we need some mod to our kernel.
Better port MIUI rom in all ways... hmm ?
is it possible to get the MIUI ROM run on tattoo? maybe the cm & FM can be work on this ROM
The problem is that we need drivers. Otherwise any app or rom is useless for getting functioning fm and camera.
i install app on spqrom 0.6 cm6 rom. But app crashs after first run.
Sent from my Tattoo using XDA App
The App starts and turns bluetooth on. Next time it FC. But if you turns bluetooth of then the app starts and FC right after.
Hope We get this working
For LokkoHTCMANIA developer of htcmania.com, and i've got to run the radioFM in CyanogenMod for Tattoo.
Coming soon the rom with fmradio

Have you allowed superuser for this to run? Such a bummer if it doesn't work on HTC One.

Is there a better place to look for information on this? Fixes/development/etc?
Sixaxis is probably the number one reason I root.

I've read that any AOSP based ROM should work. Can you guys confirm that you are using an AOSP based ROM and this has not worked?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37115490&postcount=12
The screenshot is from the stock ROM. I can confirm that it works without any issues on both the CM nightlies and AOKP nightlies.

PS - how have the AOKP nightlies been? I just noticed they posted the first official build on AOKP.co last night(tonight, depending on where you live).
I've been using it since the 21st, and literally the only problem I've encountered personally that wasn't fixed was an audio bug while listening through headphones. There are probably more that you can find in Roman's thread.
It'll be nice if this ever gets working. I don't necessarily mind going to stock (as I've had it on all my devices), but for some reason I actually am quite a fan of Sense 5 and feel I would miss it on my phone. Ha...
Maybe when HTC releases 4.2+ for our phones they'll use the right Bluetooth stack.

Download and install build 12. But maybe some versions have problems, I did not use that ROM. You can read its thread, and see comments. Maybe if you want just kernel, you can download version 12, get boot.img from its ZIP and install it with Universal kernel flasher.
What is FM? Radio? CM based ROMs does not have FM radio, you need to install Spirit FM.

You must setup Spitit FM, there is no other way to have FM radio on any CM based ROM.

For home screens, you must have some icon or widget on every screen. So put some on the one you have, and add icon. Transfer icon to left or right - and you will get it. Or simply install NOVA or APEX launcher.
Custom 10.2 Android unit bought from this link for my 2014 Nissan Altima. Some specs on this site are incorrect.
https://www.agdcustoms.com/products/agd-customs-10-2-inch-android-navigation-head-unit-2013-s
I attached screenshots of correct specs below. I already rooted with Kingroot and installed Viper4Android, a few other root apps, and pushed Team Black Out cleared apps to system. I am considering a custom ROM and definitely want to look into replacing the stock Radio apk.

What type of unit do I have? MTCB, MTCC, something else? Then I can find specific forums to post in.
From there, what ROMs are available and can I keep factory backup camera and steering wheel controls with any? I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Unfortunately, yours is not a MTC unit. While there are a couple factory ROMs around, haven't seen any custom ROM yet.
Best chance to find relevant threads is to search by MCU substring, they are kinda scattered.
I appreciate the quick reply and info. Not sure too much why Android Auto seems so much more complicated than Android in general with so many more reports of bricked devices...

Hello there guys, as many of you have noticed, the XDA thread for the Sprint HTC One M7 is not well organized as we expect and some many users may not find or understand the forums at all, so I made this thread regarding about the availability of the old build files of some Stable ROMs without bugs and some "Stable" ROMs with the Bluetooth, wifi drops, Kernel Panic Reboots, Freeze, and Ugly camera, etc. In this case I've stated what builds are with bugs so you're testing at your own risk, these builds are not mines and all credits goes to their respective developers, in this case I just wanted to bring this files at you guys if you where not able to find them or want to go back to something more stable, for example, CM 11 Snapshot build is most stable and free of bugs, no issues, and right now I'm using it again.

Since we have no official maintainer, we need to get one, right now I have 2 devices at hand of HTC M7, which is the M7vzw and M7spr, these are already bootloader unlocked, if you would like to see official support happens and come back again, feel free to donate me and start a project, building for official builds requires a great hardware, no matter what other says, this requirement is a strictly part if you want to succeed on official builds, people who is interested in donate, I accept computer parts instead of money in any case, since we need great hardware for this project, in any case you want to donate with money contact me at messages here on XDA only, I'll be online when I get a free time or when a notification arrives.
