[Q] How open is GNote realy? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings fellow XDAs.
Currently I'm using a LG Optimus 2X, and I'm considering buying a Samsung Galaxy Note.
I'm more or less satisfied with the o2x, but I'm am getting sick and tired with the lack of support for the open-source community from LG/nVidia.
The main problem as I understand it is drivers, so it's allways a challange to get all the hardware working.
I'm no developer, so I'm not sure if I ask the correct question here, but is the Note a proper open system phone? does developers have all the necessary information to create driver for new versions of android?
Thanks in advance
Christian

Christian the SG Note has invaded the scene quite with a bang... Developers have been giving us support on pretty much all that we asked for!
We have :
Custom Roms (You just have to try "Rocket Rom" , "Darkys Rom" , "CheckROM Revo" and tons more)
Leaked ICS (early stages but a solid built ! Thanks for all the guys working hard!)
Custom Kernels (AMAZINGLY improved battery life + performance)
My personal opinion about the Note ?? Its on its first steps... Not everything is perfect!!!! overclocking is a bit unstable so you need to watch out and some other minor glitches need to be fixed but on main view i think the open-source community is supporting this device wonderfully and i am 100% sure that there are much more features to come
P.S. if you do get a Note , watch out !!!!!!!! THIS PHONE IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE + YOU WILL NEVER GOING TO BUY A SMALLER PHONE!!!! EVER !!! hope i was helpfull ! have a nice day

Thx great input.
Do you know by any chance, how good Samsung been at feeding the devs. what they need?
Sendt fra min LG-P990 med Tapatalk

Samsung recently organised a contest that will give $205,000 in cash and prizes for those who will develop the best S-Pen apps
So developers are in a way even motivated by Samsung
If you wana check it out go here

But remember that flash counter!
In other devices like Motorola, HTC, and etc we don't have to worry about that, so Samsung is really not that open. Yes the are ways to avoid the counter but the fact that Samsung has that "feature" makes me think it's not that open at all.

Yes it is very annoying...

Driver developers don't get much from Samsung, though. On the other hand, there are other sources for some of what we need on the Note from here: http://www.malideveloper.com/developer-resources/drivers/index.php
So it is a very "open" device with a good community and some good devs.
Just follow the instructions here to root without increasing the counter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784
After that you can install what you want using CWM and it won't affect the counter, either.
The hardware is awesome.

True, but this can be (mostly) avoided by showing PC Odin the middle finger. Don't use it if you're not going to flash a stock ROM.
PC Odin = ONLY for stock ROMs
CWM/Mobile Odin = Custom ROMs
Easy peasy.

Thanks you alle for sharing your knowledg.
I'v allmost convinced my self to buy the GNote.
But as I read it. When Android 7.0 is released (I know I know ), driver devs might have a tough time making driver for the kernels, because the chipset/platform isn't "open". Or an I wrong?

Galaxy S has Android 4.0 which was not released or supported by Samsung.
So even if you are correct, the devs overcame those issues on Galaxy S.

Why does it take 6 months for LG to give us gingerbread?

Can someone please explain to me why it takes LG 6 (or more...) months to ready gingerbread for O2X?
Isn't android ready from google? All that LG has to do is to install the drivers for tegra and so on?
I know that all others as slow with updates from google, but WHY?

Maybe because they have a lot of work to do with porting an android version to our phone which is not in pre-alpha state...it's like a new experience for them..they should take their time if its worth it..
Do LG have to port android 2.3 to O2X?? Dont understand how android works at all. Isn't it finished by google and LG only have to install bloat and drivers????
please
If they wanted, it would run 2.3.4 already, that´s 100% sure.
If you think it is that easy why don't you do it by your own. There are mods out there with gingerbread and guess what they have bugs! Why is everybody so keen on gingerbread. My phone does an excellent job!

You misunderstood a little..or you did not read..
Who said it´s easy?
LG is not a modding company
LG is not cm teamduche..doing things for free
LG is a huge-huge company, who can afford to PAY
And from a selling point: you want the latest android? - get the new flagship
Edit: of course, it´s just speculation

No it doesnt do an excellent job - besides the obvious problems with bsod and rebooting which many are facing, it also has a number of other very annoying issues which everyone are effected by and which everyone hopes gets resolved with Gingerbread. Your phone are no different than any other O2x and your phone has exactly the same issues as everyone elses. Just because you may not be experienced enough to recognize these issues, doesnt mean your phone does an excellent job - it only means your standards are less than others.
If we ever do get a properly optimised Gingerbread fixing these issues, then you will perhaps have a better understanding of how this phone should be running, considering the hardware.
Man even if there would be no reason for 2. 3 i just wanna have it , only the custom ginger roms that were gonna have is more than enough as a update reason . Dude we are like frozen atm stuck at optimated stock roms and thers not much left to "optimale "
I too have no bsod or reboots not even once. The only problem i have is poor battery but this is also the case for all android phones. Other than that. Been very happy with my phone and I'm sure gingerbread will make me happier.

The answer is easy... that's because they are LG !!
Try to sell as many as possible
So they spend most of time to promote their products, not spend time for software..
Don't you see? How long they spend for reboot fix...and yet not solve it
But why is it so hard to port android from google to the different phones?
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
Too big HW diversity, crapy HW designs, bug-plagued drivers..
From my opinion, they need their own unique.
if the software is the same (standard from google)
the market share would be seized by Samsung, HTC, Sony.
However, LG still lack of professional to solve most of problem that the end users are suffering (like us, freezing/rebooting problem)

'cause each company has to adapt their drivers for each phone. That's why it's hard.
And here is why it take so long : because they all feel forced to add a stupid brand layer (LG Home, LG apps... But that's true with most of the companies).
We want gingerbread ! Waitin so long for it ...

Hmm... Can't understand that either... Drivers for tegra 2 is made by nvidia right? All LG has to do is add the driver to google's android? Other HW in the phone is not developed by LG either so they will have a driver from the manufactor wont they?
All i see that LG have to do is to develop the awful crapware they ship the phones with. That would perhaps take some time... but 6!! SIX!! months???

+1, I believe so, and they are on the DEV forum, but it looks like the roms are specific to the version of tab you got!!
So be very careful, the WIFI only tabs are "P1010" so make sure you the posts/external websites lnked on the forum of the ROM you are considering to ensure that it works on P1010.
As I almost started the install OVERCOME when I checked the external site, its states specifically not for WIfI Only.
But keep looking.
Good luck
I have a tab wifi -p1010 ,it was a present and it stays on dust because is no usefull.Samsung just wanted to sell to stupids people like us ,their interest are just money,so we will have no updates to gingerbread,honeycomb,etc...I saw in tab development a lot of custom ROM and i am sure that is possible to put in our ,,cheap tab,, a custom rom, but,as long our place is just in in Q&A section,as long we don.t talk with devs ,we will not succed.I am pretty sure that samsung sold a lot of wifi tab so, we should find a way that someone (devs/chefs) see us..

Yes. Buy yourself a proper tab. I will. And it will not be Samsung again.....
having search high and low there seems to be nothing for this tablet - ;o(
I do not understand why this can't be ported - it is on the same TI OMAP SOC that other gingerbread devices use.
See my technical question about this posted at this URL:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357414
It can be ported, but devs does't bother to do it. They prefer new shiny superduper tabs, our is packed with old HW.
Well shoot, lets offer them some kind of gift then. Since it should be a matter of removing cell modem and sim drivers, shouldn't be too much work right?
I am willing to kick up 20$ to the dev group for a CM7 or GB update. Any other P1010 owner's want to chip in to such a fund?
Any dev's interested in some holiday bucks?
I would throw in £10 for a gb/cm port

not buying samsung ever again

i did not want to open a new thread so here are some excitment news that i have written in the third page of this thread:
"well i gues it will be easy for me not to buy a samsung phone ever again.
motorola and intel sign on a long term agreement and medfield really kicking ARM a** at least in the few benchmarks that were published and with lower consumption according to the benchmarks.
so my next phone will be a motorola phone with intel inside it.
goodbye samsung and yours sh*tty support.
i hope many of you will do the same as me. show them the power of the customers. i hope samsung will lose all their customers to motorola!!!!!!!!!!!"

not only they don't release the drivers to help developers like onecosmic and cyanogen, they stop their support on a phone who sold millions of units world wide.
i have this phone only for a year, and 2.3 is the last version i'll get.
but maybe we need to blame google because other company also dropping their support after a year.
maybe it is time to consider microsoft and intel combination. if they are doing such a great work on pc, and intel is about to release their cpu for mobiles, that combination will kick android a** i hope. i can't believe that this is the last update i will get, i have 2.3 for months, i dont care about crappy face recognitaion in 2.3.6 i want hardware acceleration.
i am staring to hate android. open source is great, until you are not getting anymore updates maybe the middle between android open source and ios is the answer like microsoft.

fact is, Samsung is a company that is only interesed in your money, just like all other companies out there. They're not a charity organisation. They want you to buy their phones.
the SGS has gotten 2 major firmware updates. eclair to froyo and froyo to gingerbread. There's not alot of phones out there that have gotten the same luck.
Of course it would be nice to receive an ICS updates but frankly i don't care. There's already a good working unofficial ICS rom and official Gingerbread rom does it's job more than pleasant.
I would say it's your loss since samsung always make better phone with better price compare to apple made in china trash. I know the software is not too good buy you have plenty developers here that can help the phone runs better. If you want ics just used one cosmics rom.

Do tell me where I get support for my original iPhone (2g) so I can up date the thing to v4 or even v5 iOS.
At the end of the day the SGS is near 2 years old and seeing as the SGS3 is around the corner I would consider the SGS old!
Anycase there is a ICS ROM for the SGS, just used that and be happy!
onecosmic and cyanogen can not fix the camera and other minor things without the drivers from samsung and i have 2.3 almost 6 months. so no i dont consider one year of updates to be that good. you want your phone, to be updated for a year and then throwit to the garbage?.
one year of updates for a phone who sold millions world wide is not enough and because of people like you it will coninue.
i tried 20 different roms so dont try to sell me that i can try onecosmic rom. the camera and other minor things not working correctly i am on cyanogen mod and i am ont happy with the camera and the battery life, tv out is not working and other minor bugs.
edit: not that i have any bad things to say about onecosmic and cm7 developers i know it is not their fault, they dont have the drivers. so thanks to all the developers out there for their best efforts.

To be honest i'd be happy with a good Gingerbread (stock), I don't think it's been as good as the last Froyo 2.2.1 update, which suddenly made the phone work properly.
I think its a shame that there isn't at least a two year life span (a lot of phone contracts are 24 months) in terms of updates, but I also understand this technology is probably one of the fastest moving.

Samsung didn't design ALL components in the SGS, they have bought many from THIRD party (like audio part from Wolfson, etc. etc.). You have open source drivers for SOME devices and many of chip-makers sell Chips + Closed drivers with limited support. It's not the Samsung's fault if they don't want release drivers, Samsung use only BINARY drivers for some devices ! Blame some *****ng chip-maker firms. I used to fight a lot with Adaptec to have some source code to make working some $500 Hardware Raid card for FreeBSD some years ago, many chip-maker are VERY reluctant to give drivers code, and it's not a new story in Linux world.
Windows and Intel will make better ? Are you serious or just blind ? Why Vista was so "unstable" in his debut ? Drivers, Drivers and Drivers.. like Android. iOS ? Another joke ? Apple use ONE hardware and chip-makers are forced to give the code (or they're excluded from Apple, so they give all Apple want), iPhone is a very well sell and Apple is one of the richest firm in the world, chip-makers aren't totally stupid if they want to sell million and million of their chips.
And for your information : First ROM for SGS are build in March 2010, latest is Dec 2011, what a poor support..
I can see Samsung absolutely ****ting themselves reading the op. Dumb thread.

This is, IMHO, the main Android drawback.
Android is not really "open". It's a marketing hype.
Producers like Samsung make heavy "modifications" to their phones and do not relase their drivers.
We're lucky that SGS has an hardware similar to the Nexus S, otherwise I doubt we could have a stable ICS porting for our phone.
My next phone, if I'll chose again Android, will be a Google Experience One.
Bye.

[Q] opinions about Samsung galaxy s advance

Hi everybody. I've already checked the various threads but the answers don't satisfied me. I want the Samsung Galaxy s Advance and I've the chance to buy it for 250 euros. The device is perfect for what I have to do (the only drawback is the RAM, because I wanted it to be 1 gb). Anyway, my question is: is it good to buy it now? I fear that it will not be upgraded anymore. I've another question: should I wait for new devices coming at the MWC? Any release date? My budget is limited to 250 euros.
Thanks in... advance
Sorry for my bad English
Look Bro.... SGSA may not be that popular or might have some bugs but what it does have is a damn good processor and gpu
...... Given the price range..... Also we have a small but good developer team which have released kernel and roms which are brilliant...... Also SGSA HAS RECEIVED JB update and it runs like butter....
This is all I can say the rest is up to you as you are the one who is gonna buy it not us.... But if you buy this device you won't regret that you invested in this piece

thanks. I think I'll get the Advance. So I hope xda developers will continue rocking on this device!
I don't mean to discourage you or anything but if you are looking for a phone with atleast 1 GB RAM then you do have an option to get S3 Mini instead... its 250 EUR now and it has the "same" hardware as the Galaxy S Advance - only thing that differs is that this device has 1 GB of RAM.. and S Advance has 768 MB instead...
PS: The 4.1.2 update for S Advance may be the "last" official update from Samsung... but on other side the S3 Mini may even get 5.0 update..
But I'm SATISFIED with my S Advance... if you do the "proper" Tweaks and Modifications then this phone might get too fast for you to handle
Warning: If you are planning to buy a Galaxy S Advance then make sure its i9070 and NOT i9070p... The "P" version is the NFC version - here on XDA only one developer has this and that too is bricked... so you might not get any dev support if you own a i9070p!!

I Think we might get future updates....as our device is equivalent to S3 mini......and it is a recent release also!!
if S3 Mini can be updated(i am asuming it will go to 4.2 or larger) i dont see a reason why our model wont be?
But that is just MY perspective!
Don't buy it if you expect development.
It's a solid performer but nothing more. I came here from a ****ty, low-end htc device that had more development done in a month than SGSA since it had it's own subforum on xda.
So for the time being you can choose from:
1. JB update X or JB update Y - both provided by our hefty russian branch :>
2. two custom kernels which do have some bugs and glitches (but hey, nothing's perfect right?)
Device was released nearly a year ago. Do the math.
The only reason i would recommend you to avoid samsung smartphones is problem with keeping dialer and sms applications locked in RAM. So far i have not seen the device (from ancient devices like spica or i5500 to s3) that manage this properly without custom rom (@official samsung software dev's wtf?). So i would probably go for LG/Sony

Neither s3 mini or s advance will get 5.0 that much is assured. Only note 2 and s3 have the hardware to run such a hefty(I'm assuming after seeing the RAM eaten by JB) so it doesn't really matter whether s3 mini or the advance is depends on personal preference only!

But I'm just guessing.. the rest depends on Google and Samsung
discussion about future OS's is almost irrelevant for this topic. you cannot expect from any mid range phone to support many future os's so this won't help him with his dilemma. IMO only relevant thing could be that samsung usually don't support AT ALL models older than approx. 1 year, in favor of selling newer, more expensive models. which is not the case with some other manufacturers

HTC is way worse than Samsung......
P.S. I was an X-HTC user

It doesn't really matter what updates will samsung release, that I've learned while owning an original Galaxy S. The last fw officially relased to it was GB 2.3.6. Right now it rocks Jelly Bean 4.2 stable. (yes, of course CyanogenMod ^^)
It's quiet an old device, but still, the dev support is amazing! And do you know why it's possible? Firstly, sales. More than 10 million sold. More popular device means more devs, usually. Secondly, it's hardware is identical to Google's Nexus S which received an official Jelly Bean and that means source codes released in timely manner to work with!
As for the S Advance, the only problem is popularity. It was an awful mistake to release it with gingerbread instead of already long available ICS. This repels users, who are interested in tinkering with their phone. This means only those few people (and to whom I thank their efforts) are here and capable to do anything with development for our device. Honestly, the list of roms and kernels are short.
On the other hand the chipset is quiet popular and I'm sure other handsets with the same chipset will help somewhat to keep this device up to date for as long as possible.
Cheers!
Hi everybody!
I am a fully satisfied Galaxy Wonder I8150 user, however - since I found an offer for the Galaxy S Advance I9070 for about 200€ - I am thinking about changing my phone.
What would you suggest?
Are you happy with the I9070?
I am a bit worried that you do not have many ROMs available - while I8150 has plenty of them and good developers, just to name one, arco! - and it seems to me that the I8150 is not very widespread...
Opinions and discussions are more than welcome, tx.
The number 1 advantage in s advance is good value for money and good specs for that price. If specs are your only concern try s3mini . It may be costlier but has more ram. As regards s advance, now after Jb update development has picked up and we do have at 3 least good custom ROMs and other mods. CM10 official may come soon and there will be more ROMs based on it.
But if you are buying a phone now look for something newer as Samsung mostly won't release next android update for advance

... And take care with the P version...

@ Sadvance: I surely agree with the fact that I9070 seems to be good value for money.
I would go for S3 mini (although I prefer the design of I9070 actually!) but paying 100€ more for having 1GB Ram instead of 768MB is not justifiable imho.
Are there other significant differences between S3 mini and I9070 (I cannot find any other)?
@R_a_z_v_a_n: what do you mean?
Should I look for the P version since it also has NFC reader?
Or should I look for the normal (i.e. NOT P version) because it seems to be more widespread?
Tx a lot.

[Q] I want to hear your opinion on the development of GT-N7000

Especially those people who owned the Note since the beginning in Q4 2011.
What do you think of the development of our Exynos-based Note?
How do you feel after one year that CM for our Note even our little brother S2 is not fully working?
Are you satisfied with the stock ROMs provided by Samsung?
How about the superbrick fiasco? Do you think Samsung should have done something more quickly?
What do you think of the Jelly Bean update for Note? Quality is there?
EDIT: One more question. Will you consider a Samsung for your next device?
Development - good not that bad
CyanogenMod - Not working at its full potential but it is still my daily driver
Satisfaction with Samsung firmware ? - Are you kidding ?
How about the superbrick fiasco ? - I considered selling selling my note when Superbrick bug was detected but there were no other 5' phones at that time. Even now, non-removable battery (Xperia Z and others) is a deal-breaker for me.
Jelly bean update - It does not have professional and finishing touch as I quoted your post in other thread.
Am I happy with my Note ?
I am happy because I'm content and I am content because I am happy
For your every question it's a no.. There are not much development even some peps here think uploading the stock deodex rom with xyz name adding some mods which are already present on forum individually is a developmnet..? A big no, but the elite xda-developers who are trying their best bringing cutting edge work and something innovative to android development world is called development and i am very thankful to them.. But still it's not up to par.. I wish i bought a nexus device in place of note regarding android development and modding.. And sammy is just to lazy in providing update to our device and providing source codes, stock jb is just unacceptable for me it's too laggy for anyone who uses cm as a daily driver.. I am afraid to say that cm is also not fully functional, the memory leak sometimes make me go crazy but have to live with this sh*t truth about my beloved note.. After all i love my note than any other device owned by me in past and please don't term me as complainig it's all what any note user has in his heart to say.. And yeah how can i forget about brick bug, when my note firstly got affected by it i was like what the heck is wrong with my baby it is dead and you will not believe still i fear from doing any wipes it doesn't matter if i have modified kernel or not and the black crush issue is like never gonna sorted out

Development - we hamper our own progress, more politics than codes, groupism, lack of feedback, squelching of viable ideas
CM - an alternative to explore but not be ruled/smothered by.
Samsung performance - Good in many ways- stable, battery friendly/new features/ frequent updates. Good inspite of black clipping, highly priced devices and poor build quality.
Brickbug - never existed beyond the walls of xda and/or rooting process.
Jelly bean - better than ics
Had a lot of fun with my Note. if i didnt have it , with my past experience of it, Id go for a Samsung product but would wait for price to go down first.
NB - Can you really hope for an unbiased answer ? where you become popular and part of the herd if you call Sammy Crapsung and start off your OP with a statement like - I hate Touchwiz , and thanks are heaped on you for it ? Hate begets hate.
I never put forth my views for argument so dont even try.
1 No development to full potential without Exymos drivers, still ppl did best they could. Most devs left by now
[email protected] ... ... ...them.
3No, but some custom ROMs are/were good.
4My phone has sane chip - they should recall vulnerable devices or deliver sw fix earlier.
5For me on AllianceLSZ it is as close as possibly, but I did not tried stock version.
Last one. I don't think so. They grow to big market share - lame corporation. They are lying, promising and not delivering. All I liked -big screen now is no longer Samsung's only thing. I am not fond of cheap plastic too. I liked sd card and removable battery.
Time will tell. HTC one Motorolla X LG who knows?
Development you can't talk about it since it is for every device separate and the devices high end life is under 6 months so developers are using the hit and run tactic since after awhile the device isn't popular and if you now add the delay of source to be given from the manufacture tell me what can - could you await from the developers. Who they make this with 0 to low profit gain except few of them, but that's another story.
You can't compare s2 with any device out there. S2 is legen wait for it dary .
Samsungs firmware upgrade policy was ok till ics came out, the updates where faster then you could find all the changes from one. After the second ics firmware the things did go worse, if I remember right it was s3 comming out time. And before the note 2 was introduced there was the end.
Profit rules them all.
If you don't buy that you will buy the other. Tell me a company who is making a good device with great support? None.
Google isn't producing her own devices.
Apple? Come on you can spend your money somewhere else.
As long smartphones aren't as PC's where you can add 10, different self picked, parts to make a phone and after that you pick a OS to install on it with the drivers for the parts. Till then you will pay to be happy when you will get a fully operating device with SOME of the things you need.
Own a DBT N7000
Flashed first time on JB leak since till then, the device and OS was enought/had nothing to offer more, to my needs.
Cm never used it. But N7000 without spen? Huge respect to the guys and girls for supporting so many devices ofc.
Let the "flames" begin.

1 [Development]. Well, there are some sweet ROMs and mods, but my mate that recommended looking for stuff here some time ago said there's everything here, and TBH I don't see it, was looking for ported S Memo for JB, ink effect for S Pen only and other small mods and didn't find anything
2 [CM]. Never cared about it, I picked Note for features built around TW
3 [Stocks]. Until JB, it was pretty good, new features, not too much crap, stable and efficient
4 [Brick]. Terrible mistake and marketing failure, didn't affect me fortunately
5 [JB]. Nope, it's a total disappointment, I was eager to update it ASAP, but after I did it I was like "WHAT THE HELL MAN?". Sad, sad update
6 [Sammy]. I never considered any Samsung's phone other than SII or Note, so no
I am still very happy with my Note...with some work to be done, JB is very fast and stable and bugfree...i tried all CM and his derivates and they are great, but i still like modded stock most, mainly for all the features coming with it or possible to add - and it lags 0 (in words ZERO) for me...brickbug was an awful mistake, bricked 2 devices for me (one i got repaired on warranty)...i dont care about blackclipping cause it never affected me that much...
And cause this seems to be the 'bash sammy and note 1 thread' i am looking forward to some public flogging
I am also happy with my note.
I feel there is a strong but disappointed community regarding development. Most developers have strained that Samsung closedness in regards of hardware level drivers have halted back development months if not a year.
I personally feel the folowing is true: because of difficulty in basic os openeness guys like CM team have found time wanting in further development then basic os. I saw endevours in spen functionality and firmly believe if Samsung was more open, not only would rom development taken off more but also the app development. Just gettting rom functional has sucked the living daylights out of a lot of good devs. Had that not been the case they would have been motivated and have time left to revolutionizing further spen/apps stuff. This is a cascading effect.
I in that sense having seen burnouts and close burnouts with certain devs, am definitely not dissapointed in the devs. Greatfull for their devotion and spirit. In Samsung, yes definately dissapointed. I love what Samsung did with JB. But this whole ordeal is not a good example of transforming an opensource platform into a true community platform. That Samsung can do better. Must do better, because the XDA community is already speaking of moving from Samsung to more dev friendly mobiles. Samsung needs to turn that around.
Their future lineup is promising, but with this trackrecord, its not gonna appeal the devs into storming buyin.
More and more users are following favorite devs, if those devs move away, so will xda members following those devs. Time to step up the game Samsung, we know you want to.
Note is a great device(except battery) for me.Yeah,I miss more ported roms from other phones too,but today we have so many different chips and without sources for drivers I know it's hard...

Read somewhere that Samsung denied CM Officials' request to release TW Source. IMHO, I don't know if its true or actually a matter of concern but it is quite noticeable that other manufacturers' devices have amazing CMs whereas TW based phones are suffering.

No.
Dear Samsung, Nobody wants your ****ing motion sensor voodoo you call "Smart-this-Smart-that" and annoying visual/audio effects you call "Nature-Nature". Your idea of using a Digitizer with a phone? Excellent. Making a phone that is a Milestone for Smartphones? Fantastic. Providing Dedicated apps? Orgasmic. ****ty optimization? You lost me.
How about the superbrick fiasco? Do you think Samsung should have done something more quickly?

Probably. When it comes to RAW Power, Samsung doesn't shy away. That's the beauty of it.
Note has many achievements.
1. It tasted 3 flavors of android.
2. Its the first >5 inch phone which changed the way of users habit.
3. It has seen the mist development more than galaxy nexus. It got all tge major custom releases with tw stock roms as a bonus.
4. Its the only phone which even after 1 and a half year life has a place in users heart.
5. It was a future proof device of its time and the way dev helped it groom is remarkable.
6. Thanks to devs who despite being annoying contributes so much to make our experience good.
Entropy, dr.ketan,Eybee1976, chasmodo, Criskelo, and so many others who take out time to make things better.
