[Q] Youtube HD app - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone has a youtube apk that switches to HD mode? sorry if this has been anwered somewhere, but bored of searching google for another half an hour.
Thanks a lot
edit0: I can't see this thread in the forum, i guess no one else does either. If found by a mod, please delete, i posted it in the QA section again (it belongs there anyway)
thanks!
edit1: and now it's there... what's going on..

I am unaware of any hacks to the youtube app to enable HD for the galaxy s but I would most certainly love to have one.

Was reading over in the SGS2 forum that you have to change the dpi to enable it. It appears as though it is only for high resolution devices. The thread was in their general forum.

Glad you contributed in a way that helped OP...
OP, What steps have you taken to try to eliminate things from causing the issue? What is your kernel etc... number of different things that could potentially cause a problem. Have you done a clean install (full wipe of dalvik/system) then install the rom and install nothing else and still have issues playing the video(s). Give us some details and we'll go from there
I had the same problem...

You have to set your rate lower...I can't remember on the top of my head, but it helps...not to be rude, but if you dig a little, you will find it using the search...it took me awhile, but I found it...also it gives you the correct size to use...my video now takes up the entire screen...
Thanks for helping my kernel is 2.6.29.6-cyanogenmod [email protected] #3 I installed this rom through rom manager and unless tht wiped everything tht needed to b done.. ill have to try tht in a Manuel reboot correct? And I apologize for any possible wrong area post or repeat post. I tried looking for other people having this problem but I was unable to locate people with similar issues I used the search option in the xda app and I didn't locate any topics tht looked like they would relate.. further more I was more concerned tht the lack of certain video file playback might of been an issue with the rom rather then something else I have posted on other sites and topics but no one has helped

Ok I just finished looking at everything I could. Possibly relate to frame rate adjusting.... I had no luck finding anything bout adjusting "framerate" the closes I got was in adw launcher settings and it let me adjust the frame rate for Wht I think were just for the launcher... do u know where I go to adjust tht? This also made me think are my videos are what is causing the problem? Now when I was on HTC - sprint 2.1 I never had an issue with them.. but do u think they are to high/low in quality to play.. cuz after ripping the episodes onto my computer I uses psp9 to convert them into mp4 at the lowest setting ...

When I ran CyanogenMod in the past I had problems playing .mp4's from time to time with the stock apps.
OP - Have you tried any third party apps via market?

You have been a member since July, and still you don't know the questions should be asked in Q&A section.
About your problem, you should have read the OP's posts in CM10 Thread. That is :
> For both - CM9 and CM10:
1) HQ video playback ( need OpenMAX libraries from Qualcomm, unfortunately, they are not going to release them )
2) Native USB tethering (use 3rd party app)
3) Native Wi-Fi tethering (use 3rd party app)

N4 addon's / apps you can't live without it

hi guys,
sometimes you see a screenshot and you want to know what's that for an app or feature. So I thought to open a thread where you can post these things you can't live without it. I'm interested and searching for new things - so let's post!
So I would start:
For me it's an app called swapps. It's like the @ppbar who's integrated in some custom roms. See the screenshot.
Play Store link.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.schiztech.swapps&hl=de
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1992163
Not sure it is related to N4...
Anyway this might be interesting but this app you talk about, I don't see the point as you can do it with recent apps or simply go back to home screen?!
(Sorry about negativeness of this comment^^, this is a good idea to discover interesting apps though)

I cant for the life of me figure out how this apps works. I can seem to get to the S21 Ultra forum which is the only that I currently care about. Is this possible with that app? I can only seem to find random threads that I don't care about...

Been following some forums here again after a break due to the frustration from the format change, so I thought I'd try installing the XDA app again - and I'm sorry, I find it completely unusable.
The old app was very user friendly, brought up your participated and following easily - in the new app, even when I search the forums for a topic, it brings up a bunch of unrelated cr*p. Now, perhaps the forum I'm looking for is in there somewhere, but I don't have time for that.
No doubt there were good reasons for the new format and new app, but not gonna lie - they aren't apparent from this user's perspective. Uninstalled again.
