[Q] How to install Android Market app on CM7

Dear all,
I've installed the CM7 on my LGP990.
However I can't find the Android Market application.
Help me to install the application.

To avoid licensing issues, the CM build doesn't include Google apps. You need to download it separately.

It's Temasek's release that I added it to.

i tried gtalk video with my friend. he has the o2x, too. We see each other but the cam/picture freezes after a few seconds. We are both on CM7.

Google Play 942 Error

hello everyone ..
recently i flashed dark knight ROM
everything is great and all except the google play store ..
i can't find some of my apps such as forsquare,pudding.to and streamzoo
i've downloaded 1Mobile market to get them .. but when i download them i get this message :
"Foursquare" could not be downloaded due to an error. (942)
can someone help me please ?
P.S: i live in saudi arabia were the google play is not supported

although some apps are not available for download in some countries, this error is peculiar... what rom version are you using?

i used to download them before using Team ICSSGS RC4.2 ROM
my version is ICS 4.0.4 Dark Knight 4

JUST USE THIS, REAL APK LEACHER, OR INSTALL GOOGLE PLAY AGAIN, I PUT IT IN THE ATTACHMENTS

I can't install forsquare etc as apk
Everytime I try I get this message : app not installed

what are all the other apps that you want so that i can give them all to you in a zip folder

What do you mean by ZIP folder ??
So I can flash it in CWM ?

Here are the apps you requested, sorry it took me awhile, please as i helped you help me and click my thanks button, there apk just put them on the phone memory, and then open it, press install,

when i try to install them i get this message : application not installed !

you have a problem with your phone then

I posted a comment in the ROMs thread and they told me there's a problem in ROM itself thanks a lot for your help

Yay, just tried it when i woke up, and didn't work... Seems like google solved their problem... everything i tried works now!!!

im having the same problem.

Rom: ASNET i9000 v2.07.09-Multi
Galaxy S i 9000
ive flashed with the asnet rom and now the game does not work.
when trying to access on play store it keeps telling me 942 error.
if i try to go by browser on my PC it says application not compatible
before this i had remics Rom and the game was up and runing perfectly. ive tryed clear cashe, fix permissions Real APK. and none of this worked out.

I have this error code 942 too,
I flash rom MIUI_V4 build August 27, 2012. and some application has error 942 (GO Backup).

Me too..I have the problem with Super Backup : SMS and Contacts
I'm lucky because I made a backup for the app first..

Youtube problem! There was a problem starting up...

Hello, Im using Xperia x8, stock rom and when I go on YouTube app it says: "There was a problem starting up. Please check network connections, and check that the system time is set correctly." And it's kind a wierd because I'm connected to a wireless network and i can normaly go to internet. Please help me :crying:

He said he's on stock rom (eclair)
Solutions:
-clear YouTube's data from application manager
-set time to automatic (in settings/time & date)
-make sure YouTube is available @ your country (ex. In my country its blocked!!!!)

Maybe the latest version of YouTube is not supported or completely unstable in the stock éclair ROM so I recommend you to search the Web for older version of YouTube in APK file format its totally free!
Because the latest version of YouTube app is needed the Google play services to run. That's maybe the point.

Yes! even in my X8's youtube app is works great with my new X8 that i buy 6month ago i still remember it and now No Eclair in my Device!

Youtube problem
Was this fixed? I also have the same problem. I'm using Sky Vega a820L (Korean Android phone), rooted, MIUI rom, and lately after updating my youtube app the thumbnails began not to show anymore and every time i open it it pops with the same error "there was a problem starting up. Please check your network connection and system time."
I have tried the following solutions (see below) but it never worked:
- clear cache
- clear data
- un-install/re-install app
- downloaded different versions (apk file)
please help! :crying::crying::crying:

Had the same problem on the stock version...
- tried to install Youtube for froyo !
- tried different time settings
- Changed DNS
I think the problem is relied to this version and Google servers. Because, sometimes without doing nothing, Youtube works again !!

We can say this issue is solved now :
if it's not relied to time (cause of certificate validity..) or connection problem.
Try to verify these things :
1- Check if you are using any firewall app witch may be blocking Youtube or some of google servers... Allow it
2- Like many mobile geeks, I'm sure you are using an Ad-blocking app like Adaway, disable it to restore original hosts status..
If it solved the issue,
You need to apply new filters again, and edit the hosts file that you can find in /system/etc
And remove any ads server relied to youtube or Google
Google sucks for this ! Good luck

i had just upgraded my android version from 2.0.2 forroyo to CM 10.1 in LG P970
- Google play crashes during launch
- even I cant install application from web directly

Do all three wipes then install ur ROM and then the gapps..

and don't forget to install the proper package (cm10.1 = jelly bean)

[Q] Instagram on Android 4.0.4

Hi Guys,
I recently updated my LG P970 to Android 4.0.4 (rooted) and I installed Instagram from the Google Play Store however when I try and upload an image it will allow me to crop it but when it comes to selecting the filter the image doesnt show up and when I try to exit the app freezes. I done some searching but found no direct answer. I tried installing an older version of Instagram (3.4.0) however when I try to login it just tells me to update to the latest version.
Any idea on how to fix this?

same here, looks like Instagram created a bug for us lol...

I have the same problem, but im using cyanogenmod 10 (android 4.1.2) i installed instagram 3.5.3 but it does the same thing, i read something about editing the build.prop and the "debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer" setting but i could not find it or add it, does any one have a suggestion?

Hi! You did not do it correctly.
Step 1: update it to the latest instagram and login using your account.
Step 2: install the apk file of 3.4.0 version of instagram (the OB will ask you if do you want to replace the file that is alrrady install, just hit ok). After the install, thr instagram should work again.

I did that exact process... not working even. :-(

For rooted OB install latest version Instagram and logging, install Titanium backup and backup Instagram(app+data)
Now uninstall latest version and install v3.4.0 not logging go to Titanium backup and restore ONLY DATA not apk.Testing on several ROM's
For ICS and all 4 + rom's
