Hi guys i want to move a mp3 ringtone to internal storage on my OB also i cant create a folder. Please help me guys i have the latest CM nightly, Thanks in advance!
Take root explorer or ES File Explorer to do the task. You need to mount your filesystem, to be able to write. Then just Copy and paste it
how do i do that ? i already have root explorer and es file explorer
You have to enable it in the settings of ES File Explorer.

Open ES file manager push menu/options button, settings, scroll down to root explorer, check the box, click allow this app to have SuperUser rights and save the setting (check box), mount datasystem (/ and /system mount) (it s a checkbox below root explorer), copy your file and paste it wherever you want to

I have Root Explorer installed and I am trying to rename a file in the directory system\media and copy a new .zip file to the location. When I have executed the process it changes back to original file.
I have checked the Mount R/W button at the top of Root Explorer as well.
I have checked to make sure the superuser is in the whitelist for Root Explorer.
I also can not add .apk files to the apps folder as well.
What can I do to resolve this.
TIA.

Hi guys, I have a problem with my I9000, when I try to copy a MOD or someting to System/app for example, I can't paste bcoz I don't have enought space to paste in that folder...
Sorry for my english.. and I hope someone help me..
Best thing to use root explorer and go to that folder. You can see if the folder is mounted as read only(ro) or read write (rw). And you can see how much space do you have in that folder. If you have enough space mount system/app as rw and you can copy files to it.
Find root explorer on market best for working with files.

I figured I had rooted my TP but have just tried to change some file attributes (so I can delete a ui image from moboot) only to find that it won't let me. I've tried accessing the files in ES Explorer and Root Explorer with no luck so now am wondering whether my TP is rooted at all?
Can anyone tell me how to do it (root the TP and change permissions of files) please?
Thanks
In es file explorer in settings you need to select "root explorer" and "mount system" then you can long press on a file and select properties and change permissions.
Thanks mate. Will try that right now. Cheers
Any knows if there's any script or mod to set this? Instead it being located at the internal folder.
thanx!

Works if you set ES File manager as your default program to download.
Use this it swaps your internal memory with external memory http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180733

Older versions of TWRP incorrectly set the permissions. Use root explorer or ES File Explorer to set the permissions properly.
