A Thanks To Everyone. :) - LG Revolution

I have had a lot of problems with my Revo lately and have gotten a couple replacements trying to fix my issue (dropping data with full bars) to no avail. Verizon decided to send me a RAZR instead for this replacement. So before I leave I wanted to thank everyone for the effort you have put into making this phone amazing. I really appreciate your hard work and support!!! I hope to see you on the flip side!!! Thanks again.

Juice Defender

What everyone's setup? For the life of me, I can't get it to work as it's supposed to work. If I turn it on (the basic setting), it turns data off but never comes back on, not even if I disable it. It takes a full reboot to actually get data back. It's too bad, because when it's on my battery goes forever, but I can't do all of the things that this phone was made to do. Any suggestions for the customization, or any possible fix?
Btw I'm on the latest gv.

I have the same problem too w JD I tried all settings and the 3g/4g still won't turn unless I reboot
Are there a fix?
I even tried uninstall then reinstall the app still nothing
Not sure if it's only GV 1.3 cause I haven't try it on previous version
Bulletproof 512 ledded AWD SuperCharged RC4/GV1.3 - Nullified & Nooped 3072 + Ad-Shot v13 ;p
I used this app on the Froyo rom, but now on Gingerbread I just uninstalled it. Same exact issue with not being able to bring data back
Seems other Revo owners are having the same issue, there's a thread over at the Juice Defender support page. I don't have enough posts so I can't link the thread.

PM the link to me and I'll post it. We should all go add to the thread...the bigger the problem is, the sooner it'll get fixed. I paid for the Ultimate version of it, so I'll use that as a justification for yelling even louder lol.
I'm using the Beta version too, doesn't seem to make any difference as I have the same problem. Hope they fix this soon...JD triples my battery life; really don't like giving that up.
Just sent you the PM

No offense to the guy, but I thought the author of that report was less than helpful in describing the problem; not to mention it doesn't sound like the same issue we're having here, because he can resolve it by entering airplane mode. Likewise, I didn't think any of the comments were that helpful either.
I didn't have anything to do today...well, that's not true, but I didn't want to do any of the things I had to do, so I took a bunch of time away from the things I needed (but didn't want) to do and wrote this up:
http://bit.ly/w42tou
It's on that same site, but it describes the problem in (painstaking?) detail. I also sent them six different logs that cover various stages of the problem. I even gave you guys a shout out at the end of it.
I'd appreciate it if you guys visited the link and voted for/commented on the post. Mostly because I think it'll help encourage the devs to actually do something, but also so I don't feel like a moron for writing something nobody reads. (But it really is way better than that other guy's.)
Voting is probably sufficient enough, but it can't hurt to throw a comment on there to help raise the profile of the post. Like someone mentioned previously, if you're using the beta version of JD, open it up and send a log file when it occurs again.
haha, although I imagine most of you have disabled it at this point, I know I have.
EDIT: The Dev that's working on this mentioned this on the crappy post, along with several other things that never got answered by the original author or any of the individuals commenting. Anyone out there "enterprising" enough to take this on?

Help Make the Revo Better for Everybody! (And enjoy some of jamR's prose!)

I posted this in the JuiceDefender topic, but I wanted to post it as a separate topic as well so more people would see this. I know not everybody uses JuiceDefender, but hear me out on this, you all can and should play a role in this.
I just spent a good bit of (read: way too much) time writing up a report and sending in six separate logs pertaining to JuiceDefender's incompatibility with Revolution/Gingerbread. There was a previous report by some other guy on the LateDroid site, but it sucked, frankly. I didn't think any of the comments on it were that helpful either.
You can see / vote / comment on my new and better topic here: http://bit.ly/w42tou
I'd appreciate it if you guys visited the link and voted for/commented on the post. Even if you don't use JD, think of this as helping out those of us who do, and maybe you will start using it once it works! I think it'll help encourage the devs to actually do something, but I also don't want to feel like a moron for writing something that nobody reads. You don't have to actually read it, just voting on it is enough to save my ego. I even gave you guys a shout out at the end of it (and it really is way better than that other guy's).
Voting is probably sufficient enough, but it can't hurt to throw a comment on there to help raise the profile of the report if you want to. Additionally, if you're using the beta version of JD, open it up and send a log file to the devs when the problem occurs again.
I wasn't joking when I said I really love/depend on this app. Having a smartphone that can go without charging for 3 days is not something I want to give up.
EDIT: The Dev that's working on this mentioned this on the older report, along with several other things that never got answered by the original author or any of the individuals commenting. Anyone out there "enterprising" enough to take this on?

We're pretty close to the top of the issue list and an admin combined the old thread with this one. So they're at least aware of the issue. Woo!
BUT, it's still not fixed! So if you haven't voted yet make like a pair of Nikes and just do it. You can login with your Google account so it literally takes 30 seconds. Also, I'll make cookies for everyone who voted once the problem is solved.

As of right now, we're #1 in the "Hot Ideas" category and #2 in "Bugs". "MMS not sending/receiving" is #1 with 133 votes, so we're almost there. Not bad considering our issue appears to affect only the Revo.
We're also #16 in "Top" which includes every thread in every category (including official announcements/changelogs/etc). Most of the ones above ours literally have hundreds of votes, so I'll take #16.
BUT, we need to keep squawking lest we get shoved to the backburner! Keep in mind that every day you don't vote, God kills a baby panda. Just sayin'.
135! We've officially taken first place, but only by 2 points, so don't stop voting!
Also an Admin has added a nifty little "Under Review" tag to the post--so they're "officially" looking into it.
A recent commenter said he's having the same problem on his Thunderbolt, so if you know someone with a Thunderbolt, get them voting too hehe.
Voted. Not a JD user anymore because of this. Thanks for the solid writeup

I just reinstalled JuiceDefender Beta, and am now using it but with the "Control Data" feature turned off. This seems to allow me to use the other features without disabling my 3G/4G. You might not be able to turn off the data, but you can still control the frequency of Autosync, and that makes a pretty big difference by itself.
I can't for the life of me figure out why that's not included within Android. Not everyone needs by-the-second updates...5-10m synching frequency is fine with me, and saves a metric crapton of battery life--even without being able to control data.
Voted... thanks for your efforts.

We're at 167 votes now; runner-up in the Bugs section only has 90, so we're definitely the #1 issue at this point. We're also #1 in Hot and #10 in Top (not counting three official posts).
Update! Mark (the actual developer) asked a bunch of questions and requested some logs. It'd be great if everyone could hit up that link and take some time to send logs. The fact is that it won't get fixed if we don't help him out. Voting was easy, now it's time to actually contribute!

Both of you: I asked around a lot last week and I was told to go to a Corporate store because they are the only ones who can get into that part of the database and edit it. Apparently it costs some money, idk how much.
Thanks for the replys so far, but I have done all of the above as in so far as to go to the corp store and dial 611 and 228 infront of them, and hello hello hello lol played and nope will not add the esn from the phone in person or at the dealers(any corp or private). The only guy I found here where I live wants 90 bucks to add the esn :{ any other ideas I have a eris running fully flashed and loaded but its not doing it for me any more. Ok thanks for any ideas.

Did not expect to see what I saw coming into xda today. does anyone have a copy of 5.6 they can share out?
don't count on it... when there is drama between users and mods the ban hammers come out quick and fast. links get popped quick.
It is really too bad, but this seems to be entirely self-inflicted and we are left high and dry until another Dev steps up.
Was looking for this thread, I take it KnoxRaid is pretty much done and over with now?
I mirrored v5.6 about a week ago here - Took link down, need clarification on rules of sharing the files on forum, PM for link
Im not sure if I would advise using it at this point though

I'm running 5.5 and it is fine with 1 or 2 minor issues and 5.6 was a consideration... However, I'm not certain that the dev will be working on this soon, he seems to have been trying to play a donation game.
Likely it was a momentary lapse in judgment, but not something that would be tolerated on XDA and rightly so.
Hopefully another dev can step up and produce as good a product as this, but it seems that KnoxRaid is over. Oh well... I just got a Galaxy Gear and I can play with that for a while.

Yeah, its to bad. Well FireNote is top notch IMO, its been great so far. We will just have to wait to see what takes center stage I suppose.
It is quite odd that he sold two Note 3s on swappa just awhile ago though.

It's unfortunate because he certainly seemed like a talented and dedicated dev. Brought a lot of goodness to our Note 3. I also started becoming skeptical of his requests for donations and think he just got caught up in how easy it was for him to raise spare cash, sell a phone and get another. Once he got the M8, I think his attentions turned to that phone and he figured he'd ride the Note 3 wave as long as he could. I don't doubt that he probably would have continued dev'ing for our phone had he been sent a free Note 3...but I'm sure in time "something" would have happened to that phone as well. As I said though, very unfortunate for all of us Note 3 owners as he truly did devote a lot of his time to our phones. He's young and has a lot to learn still...hopefully this is a lesson in honesty and humility that he takes to heart.

As I said though, very unfortunate for all of us Note 3 owners as he truly did devote a lot of his time to our phones. He's young and has a lot to learn still...hopefully this is a lesson in honesty and humility that he takes to heart.

Well stated, my thoughts exactly... Just disappointed now...
I have some of his files saved but not sure if it can be shared anymore, will have to look into that. The rom is sweet, but the things that happened behind the scenes was sour to the core.
Stickied with my post-it-note 3

Best daily driver?

Hey friends! I'm looking to switch ROMS, as the Verizon OTA has arrived and I've read many horror stories about its battery life. What ROM would you all recommend for a guy who values battery life and smoothness (at least as smooth as it is on stock)? Thanks!
Aosp or stock based? I'm using malladus 2.0.2 (4.4 Verizon stock-based) and my battery life has been pretty good so far

Because obviously he posted it in the wrong place. Lucky for him not all of us are perfect and don't mind contributing even in the wrong forum.

No offense, it's not hard to see this at the top of the forum.
★ ☆ ✰ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting do not go in the Development Section. ✰ ☆ ★
I'm still happy to help and it's easy enough to report the thread and ask it be moved by our helpful mods.
Now to the original question - I installed Malladus 2.0.2 recently and it's working solid for me. If you're looking for stock, can't go wrong with the popular ones here, just check the features and try out one that works for you.
CM11 based on 24a
I have been enjoying the stability of CM11 based on 24a for a while now.
It is a huge relief to not worry about a reboot while in calls and at other random times.
I am currently on the 4/5 version.

It's gotta be good gong through life perfect. I've accidentally done the same thing. No need replying that someone made a mistake, just report it and move on. I don't believe it's necessary to post in it to report it.

No harm in letting the OP know so they don't make the same mistake either, of course there was a better way to respond then eskjc did.

Agreed on both points. It just annoys me how quick people are to jump on others for an accident. Anyone who frequents this forum knows it happens and will be moved. I just don't see the need to make an ass of someone because of it. I'll attempt to corral my comments from now on.

You can try xdadebb's rom. I am also on the OTA, I assume you're rooted? There is not going to be a real difference in battery life between roms. Since KK is new, it can take a few days for battery to settle. Do a full charge to 100%, then reboot the phone. I also suggest adding Xposed and Greenify.

Reporting it and letting the OP know they made a mistake is very much the correct procedure here... Reporting it does nothing more than flag it for a mod who can move it to the correct place, and letting the OP know (hopefully) helps them to not make the same mistake again.
XDA is a HUGE forum, arguably one of the largest and most active on the internet, there are rules and procedures in place to maintain order and its usefulness to users.
@mjones73 acted properly and respectfully in the situation... Read your own post, did you?

Me and my girlfriend took the OTA and have noticed a significant increase in battery life. I am usually at 60% battery when I leave work but since the OTA I am in the high 70's. I have never had that much left after 12 hours before the OTA even when the battery was brand new. I have 1 small bug with process.gapps force close when it firsts boots up but other than that it is excellent. My GF doesn't get that error and I have read that it is swiftkey related. It was definitely worth the update. Typically I do a full reset afterwards but I haven't had a reason too with this one.

I think i might try the OTA first in that case! If the OTA doens't work out for me though, I can still root and switch ROM's right?

I'm sure you can, I just don't know the procedure offhand. I was on a stock rooted ROM. I flashed the 24a bootstack and then the ROM I posted on the first page.
