[Q] Tether my own wifi?

Is it possible to connect to my own wifi, and then use my usb cable to tether that wifi to my computer?
My current setup is, i have a computer that is too far to be wired to the router, and i dont have a wireless dongle to use.. for now.
So, can i connect my captivate to the router (using wifi) and then tether from my phone to my pc, would it use my wifi data? or my 3g data?

This root app will let you tether via usb but I believe you can only use your 3G data connection and not your wifi.

if u need a temp solution easy tether lite will do it for ya for a trial period, $10 for full license. and this does turn your phone into a usb wifi adapter but u need software on your PC to run this

[Q] Reverse Tethering a PC to a Tab

I believe it is possible for a laptop to get internet access from a tab though the USB tether, Is it possible for it to be reversed?
Recently I broke the wifi trying to get it into ad-hoc mode, so I can't use the wifi to connect to the internet, marketplace, etc.
Is there a way for me to get a connection from my laptop to the tab?

Do you mean use your laptop as the wifi access point? In that case you will have to replace the default wpa_supplicant file. Search for the thread here....

Not as a wireless access point. I believe normally, you use the USB cable to get the internet on your computer from your Tab Data plan (Correct me if I am wrong)
So, I was wondering if you could use the internet connection from your laptop and forward it to your tab through the USB cable.

I use my tab as a wireless access point several times already-mostly at work because of network restrictions at the office.(Settings/wireless and networks/Tehtering and portable hotspots)
I don't know if you can use USB tethering from laptop to tab-probably not.....

You can get a form.of reverse tethering over WiFi by using an application called Connectify (works best on Windows 7). Install Connectify, tell it which connection you want to share, then connect to the created hotbot on the Tab.
Obviously, if your Wifi is properly broken this isn't particularly useful, but Im not aware of any way that the USB interface could be used for tethering in that direction.

Yed as agc93 said, connectify shares your pc internet connection through wifi. You need to setup static ip address in the galaxy though.

Kies Air to connect to Ad-Hoc instead of Router

Hi, is there a way to connect to Ad-Hoc network on a laptop rather than connecting to Router when using Kies Air? I don't have a router at home.

Use Connectify on PC to make your laptop a Wifi hotspot
And then use AirDroid from Android market

Connectify just creates an ad-hoc which was what i do using windows 7 easily and AirDroid still needs a wireless router to connect to. Ayone has another solution?

Can Mini Wifi shared by PC

Hi,
I want to know the possibilities that can we share our mini WiFi by PC, but PC does not having WiFi only wired (Ethernet). We sharing internet (Modem) by tethering so any possibilities we can share our Android WiFi as PC WiFi.

minimum Bluetooth is required by the PC
turn on wifi tethering on your mobile and switch on Bluetooth on PC then in connection area find the wireless connection and connect

Did u tested friend, actually my question is not connecting PC and mobile phone, my Q is using the pc is try to use android wifi as a part of PC, so now the wifi is PC wifi.....
Can I know the possibilities????

OK, this one make me little clear but my another doubt is If you have a PC with wifi and my PC having no wifi, then i try to use Android WIFI as my PC WiFi temperaly, Is this possible.

there is nothing mentioned about the wifi
and no special button to activate it
so I can say that wifi is not there why not just try Bluetooth instead of asking

Describe me for example if ur laptop is defaultly enable Bluetooth, I want to communicate ur system thru Bluetooth, but my PC does not have Bluetooth, can I use my mini Bluetooth as a PC Bluetooth (possibility of sharing android Bluetooth temperarly as PC blutooth) ???????:beer:

I don't think if you can use your mini's wifi to have wifi on PC but you can try connecting through wifi and then through USB tethering supply data access to PC
not sure if this will work

From what I get,u wanna use ur wifi internet connection on ur PC(that doesn't have wifi), of course you can connect your phone to wifi and then use the wifi tether app to share internet via USB.

Hi,
It is possible Connect PC with Wifi without Modem?
I want to clear what is wireless router, wireless lan card, usb wireless router?
I have Modem with internet connection, but my modem is standard Modem does not have the WLan Enabled....
So I want to know to Idea I want to communicate my PC with WIfi Facility With the help of Wifi Lan Card and Not without Wifi Modem...
Simple How to make Wifi Network between My PC and my Android Phone with the help of Wireless Lan Card attached to the PC, Standard Modem and not without help of Wifi Modem....:good:
