With new RC 5.6 i had contacts crashing and speedlist crashing
I've fixed it in this way
1) you first back up your phone numbers
2) Settings> Applications> Manage applications> ALL.
3) Look for "Storage contacts", Clear data
4) Look the process "Contacts", Clear data
5) Go to the menu, go to contacts, there will be no more contacts import numbers from back up
it works
Thanks

I hate to 'me too' but I have the same problem. I'm trying to reinstall the Facebook App. I can't find it in my backups but the Market tells me I have, it so I can't install or uninstall it!!
Help me Obi One Kanobi!
What all of you have to do is wipe your ext's. Then re-download the apps.
To avoid this from happening in the future (let's say you switch roms) ...or whatever....
Set up the phone as you normally would (signing in and all that), go to settings > applications > manage applications > CHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS "UNKNOWN SOURCES". This way you're guaranteed to have ALL your apps. Paid and free.
Then and only then do you go to the marketplace > downloads and check your apps. They'll be there.
And if you do have to download any of the apps again, make sure you don't leave the the "download screen", because if you do you'll lose "record" of the apps you had downloaded and will have to re-download them again.
Hi,
I have used myback to restore all my apps from my previous kang-o-rama ROM to my current Leofroyo ROM.
any application that has been restored, does not show in the market's "Downloads" list, so therefore i wont be able to update them.
Also, when i try to find the apps in the market, it says that they are not installed (even though they are)
once i re-download and install them from the market, then they appear in the "downloads" list.
however i have too many programs to do this, is there a way around this??
I had this problem whenever I wipe and restore using Titanium pro. What i got around that is to install any free app, reboot the phone and all the market link magically show up.
All you have to do when changing ROMs once your applications are restored, is to just go to settings> applications> manage applications> touch the "ALL" tab, find the market and clear cache and data.

THANK YOU!
all of the apps show in the list now
1 ques, do you know any backup/restore app that will restore all the apps at once without the need to install each app separately?

Titanium Pro + donation for batch restore of app + data.
Wipe data for Contacts Storage and Google Services Framework.
Really easy, this will fix either android.process.acore force closing or google.services.framework force closing.
WARNING!: This will wipe contacts. It seems acore fc's when there are corrupted contacts. Usually by restoring contacts on an incompatible ROM....
And will temporarily wipe market list. So backup your contacts!
Step by step:
Code:
0. Make sure Sync is off, leave it off for some time!
1. Go into settings
2. Select Applications
3. Select Manage Applications
4. (If you are on 2.2) Select the All tab
5. Scroll down until you find Contacts Storage (select it).
6. Wipe data+clear cache(If available)
7. Hit back
8. Scroll down until you find Google Services Framework (select it)
9. Wipe data+clear cache (if available)
10. Reboot and enjoy
11. (optional) Enable Sync again
Enable sync again when your convinced that the error has gone.
If this works for you, can you reply stating what ROM your on? (Eg, Stock 2.2, Cyanogenmod 5.08, MIUI 0.9.24, etc)
Or if it doesn't work for you, do the same thing?
Thanks guys!
NOTE:
It can be caused by corrupted database entiries in ANY of the syncs, Gmail, Calender, etc, but I've found contacts are the most likely culprits. This is a band-aid solution, if the problem is reappearing than there is probably something wrong with the source data being synced. Or an external application trying to do modifications (eg, a custom contacts application).
If you don't want to wipe all contacts:

It happened on my galaxy s too, when I viewed my contacts I got force close.
But after I tried many contacts backup tool on the market, I found that my contacts had 1 contact with no first name and no last name on it.
So I use contact removal from the market to remove that contact.
After that I got no force close again.
And my contact do not need to be wiped clean before.
Maybe this can resolved the contact error for some.
At least this worked on my galaxy s.

So far most users are able to fix the error using the above steps, except Droid Incredible's seemingly...

This solution will work in some cases but not for others. Read this guide for why the problem is happening and how to fix it: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google Mobile/thread?tid=23c329285968cd2e&hl=en
It is most likely a corrupted record on one of the services that you are syncing.
Good luck!

Ok... hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question... but does doing this delete the contacts from your phone or from the cloud?
Just local contacts off the phone
Cloud will remain unaffected

Just checking to see if the fix you are suggesting is for this kind of error message? I'm getting this on an HTC HD2 running Android.
Sorry!
The application Google Services Framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Happened out of nowhere. Everything was running fine. All I did was reboot to WinMo (not the first time either). Then when I booted back into Android it started FC'in all over the place. Market failed and I couldn't view my Contacts either. Speaking of which, it hasn't been updated either unless it was syncing or updating contact info in the background. Who knows...
Everything's working great... just had to give it some time to restore all the downloads and whatnot.
Hi guys,
After flashing Slick2x-G, all my contacts are gone. I did a full wipe since it's neccesary, but after turning my phone back on all my phone numbers are gone.
I remember that when I saved a new contact I always chose LG PC Suite in the options. Is there any way to get them from somewhere?
Thanks!

If you backed them up before a wipe then yes.Else no
I did a clockworkmod backup and i did a backup with titanium backup, but no idea IF they saved it and if they did, where the files are.
Could you explain me?
The ClockworkMod backup wont help, but look for Contacts in Titanium.
I tried, but in the new rom I'm using right now is no titanium, where can I find the backups?
Should be in /sdcard/TitaniumBackup

You can do another thing.Full Wipe the phone restore the clockworkmod backup.Reboot phone.Open contacts.Press the options "hard key".Select more.then select Import/export.Export to sdcard.Wait for it to finish. It will save all your contacts in the sdcard. Then boot to recovery.Full wipe again.Flash the desired Rom.After that reboot phone.Open contacts...Select import/export from options...Import from sdcard.Select the file.Wait for it to finish. You will have all the contacts.A little long process but the best.
Thanks for the explaination, I'm going to try it tomorrow or so. I guess it will work! Thanks!

If you did a Titanium backup you just have to re-install Titanium and restore your contact app + data. it's what I do for Go contact. If your contacts were set as google contact they should be back automatically with sync.
Edit: doesn't work I looked at my contacts and only the google one are restored. You must use the built-in save feature in your contact app our use a specific backup app.

Yes, at some point I would recommend changing all your contacts from LG to Gmail contacts. Not only is it far easier to sync, it helps prevent issues that arise from apps that also use your contacts list, and it allows you to easily sync contacts onto any future Android phone.
I changed back to my backup since i couldn't get my contacts back. Is there any way to make Google contacts of all or do i have to do it one by one? Thanks!
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
very easily yes
in the contacts application, select menu, select export to SD, then select all contacts and these will be saved as a vcf file on the SD memory
then go back to the contacts application again, select menu, then select import from SD - it will ask where you want to import to, select import to Google contacts and it will be imported and synched to your google account.
After that you can delete all the phone contacts and just leave the google contacts - easiest way to do this is turn off view of google contacts first, it will then only show phone contacts, select all and delete them and finally turn on google contacts view again.
When i select export tot sd, it only exports like 21 of my contacts, which are my whatsapp contacts. Can't find any options to change that?

Hello everyone.
I use Titanium Backup to primarily backup and restore my contacts list, along with my calendar entries. Within Titanium Backup's Preferences sub-menu, the options - Auto-sync TB settings and Migrate system data have been previously enabled.
However, after moving from RocketROM v12 to Criskelo's ICS V11.2 (both custom TouchWiz Ice Cream Sandwich firmwares), and precisely initiating the Data only restore of Contacts Storage 4.0.4-XXLRK (CONTACTS/CALLS) entry within Titanium Backup, the following error appeared -
Unfortunately, the process
android.process.acore has stopped.

The said error appears every time I attempt to launch the Contacts app. Presently, I have cleared data from Settings > Applications > All; for the Contacts and Contacts Storage apps, which has stopped the aforementioned error from appearing, albeit, my contacts list is empty.
Please help me troubleshoot this error, such that, I am able to restore my contacts list.

Your not going to like this but youve actually tried all the main options there are...it appears to be a problem with the apk file itself or more correctly something stopping it being stable with the system, i had it just recently and had to wait for the next update on the rom im using but usually people have to wipe cache and dalvik..ie reset...and if that doesnt work its a reinstall the rom job m8

@pdolton2000, I am sorry about the late response, but I was away from my residential area/state. Additionally, I was resorted to using a colleague's laptop, without a medium of internet connectivity. However, most of the previous work was subjected to being offline.
Coming to my issue, I have been wondering if, manually formatting and subsequently mounting the /system, /data, /cache and /sdcard partitions via custom recovery, would be beneficial, or of any help in remedying the underlying issue, reported in the initial post of this thread?
Reiteratively, I will be eventually flashing Criskelo's ICS V11.2; a custom TouchWiz Ice Cream Sandwich firmware and attempting to restore system data; primarily my contacts list, whose last backup was performed within RocketROM v12 (another custom TouchWiz Ice Cream Sandwich firmware); via Titanium Backup.
