Most of you should probably know how to use torrent files I would assume, so here are a couple of links. Everything I found on stock roms for thrill were dead links......This is Not ! Will be alive for a long time...
This link is a very large file....It has all flash tools, drivers, V20C kdz, V18E.fls, V10E.fls, Super 1 click, Megatron, thrill recovery manager, Froyo_GB file....Instructions, links, etc..
File size is about 862.8 MB

This link is for V20C KDZ file, GB Root exploit, Drivers and Instructions ONLY !!
File size is 429.75mb

SUPER quick question.
Why would a torrent be needed for this? :?
A typical .kdz file is about 300 - 450 MB.
The flashing tools I provide are less than 50 MB as well...
Also, this is the wrong section. :?
Super long answer
No reason that a torrent is needed i guess.....
Except for the fact that there are so many dead links
to all of these files... Mediafire, megaupload etc... are so
unreliable. Even in these forums there are links to the V20C kdz
that are "dead". Stock Froyo rom/baseband was almost impossible
for me to find.
This to me is just an easy reliable way to have everything in 1
package. Alot of the upload sites that I found also had limits
to the package size, torrents do not. Torrent files download
much faster than direct downloads if the file is healthy and
people seed as they should !! The second torrent has been
downloaded about 40 times already ! So apparently it is being
used and is necessary. Granted, the first file is rather large
and should probably be redone as i left Compressed and
un-compressed duplicate folders in the torrent, and it is probably
7-800 Mb larger than it needs to be.....
If you still see no reason for this, I will take them down.. LMK
Thanks,
Dwayne
I understand it, however, my Mediafire is a payed account, so files will stay up.
You can keep the files up if you'd like. I just don't think the 1.8GB file is a reasonable download, when the tools I provide and download .kdz file is about 4 times smaller.
You are correct, I am going to modify the first link, as it is an unnecessary file size. but, does not include just 1 Kdz, it includes stock Froyo, V20C Kdz, recovery manager, Flash Tools, Megatron, Super 1 click, links etc.... But yes I doubled the filesize by not deleting all of the Zip files first.... should be bout' 900 MB
Also, props on your biohazard Rom, I am running this on the V20C, and it is so fast and stable it is not even funny. Battery lasts me 18 hours of heavy use...WI-Fi, Angry birds, texting and phone calls... A+++ for Lestat
As well, I am not really talking about your account, as I found all links worked.
Mostly links like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1270832 were hard to use because everything is dead and should be modified or taken down. Please check it out !!

Now that sounds about right. Is the stock Froyo a .kdz file, .bin file, or a ClockworkMod .zip?
Thank you! I spent forever on it. Haha.
Oh! I have that file hosted as well. I suppose I should add that to my Guides/Tools thread.
Stock Froyo is A .bin .FLS file..
I also have one that says "stock froyo update rooted" and
has some kind if an .IMG file in it... so you know what that is ??
Thanks,

The main problem I see with using a torrent file is that not many people seed them. I personally will not seed a torrent file as I will not use my bandwidth to allow others to download. I prefer Direct Download links myself
That is a good point, but I did put these up around a time when alot of direct download links were not working. People were asking where to download them so I decided to help.
On a large file, it takes forever unless you pay for direct download services.
On a torrent file you do not have to be a premium member to take advantage of
full download speed capabilities.
Just a matter of preference I guess, as I can seed out at almost 1 Mbps and not be punished for using bandwidth.
Thanks,
dwayne

The .bin and .fls files have to be flashed using SmartFlash. .kdz files are just the .bin and .fls packaged together and encrypted. Since the .bin and .fls files are unencrypted, you can modify the firmware as you see fit using WinHex and flash it using the Smartflash tool.

That's great that you have that kind of bandwidth available. I'm supposed to have up to 1Mbps up but only see 512Kbps at most uploading. I can download like a rocket but up is really slow for me. I like to use Dropbox for posting Direct Downloads. You can download pretty quick without having to pay.
Thanks,
Never heard of Dropbox. I will have to check it out.

This is being released for TESTING PURPOSES ONLY. This is not intended to be a full release.
This is an SD Card release ONLY, if you want to flash the entire phone, visit the original thread. Beyond that, the build is 100% unchanged from the 7/10/2010 release of Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2 [Deodexed] [RLS10] - this is not the all languages release, just the standard RLS10 as downloadable from here.
All original information is in Incubus' original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712310
I may just be being impatient, but this froze up on me a couple of times right after completing setup and beginning sync. Still, I have been able to fully install, boot the phone through HaRET, get text messages, and a little more. I've barely had much time to test this, but it's a step above your traditional proof of concept, so try it out!
Note, this release is not intended to either show up Incubus26Jc, nor claim his work as my own. I simply made the conversion and RAR'd it up. I'm sure Incubus26Jc chooses not to make an SDCard version available for his own reases and possibly doesn't want his name associated for whatever reason, I didn't clear this release in advance, and if requested, I will delete the thread.

What exactly did you "convert"? And what software did you need? From first glance it just looks like you just threw the tar in with all the sdcard files found in other builds. The extracted tar and tgz are the same size... and you said that it's 100% the same thing... so why do we need a separate thread for this? Just ask Incubus if he could add the andboot files in a separate download in the original thread...
Well, in most basic terms all I did was convert the TGZ to a TAR, then grabbed the necessary HaRET files - but after this many releases, Incubus has intentionally had no SDCard version of his releases, so I just thought I'd toss this one out there for those like me who were interested in trying his latest release, but don't want to completely make the switch to Android and just like running it through WinMo.

I read a post a while back by dzo on incubus' thread that in order to boot the TGZ from HaRet, you need to modify something in the default.txt (add a couple of lines in the cmd). Thanks for this though...

I am using Androidinstall.tgz files. Just install it to the SD card using the norootfs method that has been used for a while. His builds aren't anti-SD card from what I can tell...
Thanks for the kind words, EGZ. Wasn't trying to take any attention away from Incubus at all, I just wanted to tinker with it, myself, which was why I released it! I don't really intend to keep up with future releases, unless people actually want me to continue.
And the reason I had to spend money is because I don't currently have a single Linux machine in my place, and WinRAR doesn't make TAR files.
NuAngel
Do I understand this correctly?
Are you basically just wanting to install the Incubus FroYo build on the SD card? I was unsure about the exact method to do this as well. Here are the steps I followed to make it happen.
I think I did something similar to what you are doing here, except the convert the tgz to tar. All I did was take the tgz file and rename the extension to tar. No zipped or rar file program needed. Then I grabbed the basic haret files from Myn's eclair along with the updated zImage file. I threw it all in the andboot dir on the SD card. Everything installed just fine. Is this what you are trying to accomplish?
Vivafutbol - yup, pretty much the same process - I just never expected renaming the TGZ to TAR to work - they're similar fromats, but not identical... surprised it worked!
Still, if anyone is interested in checking it out, they can download it from the link above, no need to do any work.

There is no need to spend money for what you did. TGZ is just a gzipped TAR file and many freeware archivers can extract TAR from TGZ - like 7-Zip http://www.7-zip.org/ ..
Also, HaRET can handle TGZ..

Doesn't HaRET just boot the zImage? Then in the kernel is where you would activate the system image like in the old days, or the adroidinstall.tar or tgz?
Forget I tried.
Oh, and 7-Zip will extract TGZ's - but the TGZ had folders in it, not another TAR file - thus getting those folders back in to a TAR required another piece of software - 7Zip doesn't create tar files.
It's okay, it was like $10. I didn't expect this to become the focal point of the ROM. Jesus.

It's great that you tried. You won't get the experience unless you do try.
The only problem I have with all of this is that you indirectly asked if people would donate to you. You couldve done a little research and found out that you didnt need to spend any money.
I'm not trying to attack you, you just couldve went about it differently. Asked Incubus if he could host it in the original thread (and at least given you credit), or if he would mind if you opened a new thread. I'm not speaking for him but I'm sure he would'nt have mind.
Again, I think it's great that you tried this on your own. We need more people like that in this community.

I did it manually as well, and I didn't even rename the .tgz to .tar
I admit I had to hunt around for some files, so this does help, thank you
Its not my rom either. Its dzo's rom. I just done a few things to it. The reason i never put up sd install files in the roms is because of all the problems people usually have until they flash nand and all is better. I can put the haret files on the OP if you would like. No harm done buddy.
I saw your windows rom but haven't tried it yet because i'm still using nfsfan. Apreciate someone new taking an interest in vogue. Also I did flash froyo to my sd card but did have to read quite a bit. I am sure I would have appreciated being spoon fed. Thanks.
Since the last few posts have been pretty positive, one thing I might work on is slapping in an updated zImage file, since I did use a slightly olde one to try and boost stability (those who know my Windows Mobile ROM know that's my central focus).

Also, the initrd.gz is very old (Maybe before the .tgz support was implemented). Try using THIS ONE (taken from HERE) with the tgz to see if it works.
I hope you did not take my post on the negative side. At the very least this thread has created some good conversation about how these files actually work together. I did have to search around for a while to get an understanding of which files should be used.
I personally like the SD version of the builds, because I don't have the guts to wipe out the windows install and risk breaking this great little device.
Hi,
I just spent the past 3 hours downloading Rodriguez' MIUI mod on my computer because my connection is so slow. I usually download ROMS straight from my phone.
This time however, about an hour in, I realised that OSX Safari will unzip the ROM as soon as it finishes downloading automatically. I got into Preferences>General and change that setting, but it seems as though it didn't come into effect because I changed the setting whilst the download was in progress.
Anyway, is there any other way I can compress the ROM (which is now a folder) through any terminal commands either on the phone or on the computer?
I've already tried compressing it normally like any other folder with MM's Gingerbread ROM I downloaded yesterday. When I flashed it, I bootlooped so....
Oh and I can't download it again. I'm on the brink of going over my bandwidth allowance.
Thanks!
Well, You can use WinRAR like application for MAC (I Don't use OS X) so cant specify.
Select all the files and compress it to zip! Done!
Donate to me by clicking the Thanks if I helped you!
In theory, it would just be to compress it normally with the use of any archiver program which compresses to a .zip file. Not too familiar with OS X, so I cannot guide you into what program you'll need and how to do.
You need to re-compress the ROM files and sign the ZIP.

Signapk? But i think signing a rom is not neccesary anymore... Just turn off signature verification in recovery or use 4ext
I have had the same situation. Safari extracted the file automatically.
After waiting for 3 hours until the download completed, because the website is restricting my download speed to 100 kb/s.
I tried zipping and compressing the file both by a Windows system and a Mac. IT DID NOT WORK.
I have to download the file again.
Okay, I'll keep it short and simple.
1. Got the phone and activated it. Running froyo
2. Rooted and installed CWM with the .bat one click file (I think it's the program MT wrote. It wasn't revotoolkit which I know is thecubed).
3. Realized I want to use gingervolt, so I need to update. I use the .bat file to un-root and go back to stock.
4. Try to manually push the OTA download through settings>about phone. Updates the phone to VS910ZV6 which is froyo 2.2.2
5. Try to update again (need gingerbread, which is VS910ZV7) and it keeps telling me "No new Software Update Available"
What gives? I'm thinking it may have something to do with the root? I also tried doing the manual update, you know the one floating around the internet using a .tot and LGNSP or whatever the acronym is, but Megaupload and Multiupload don't have the files anymore. Right now I'm downloading TheCubed's stock shipping rom and see if I can install it and get the update to go through.
Is there any fix that someone might know of? I ask because I've read several topics where people say they went down to stock shipping rom but they still couldn't update to gingerbread...then the topics just stop. Obviously they found their answer, so I'm hoping someone will share. I NEED TEH GINGERBREAD.
Thanks for all the help!
I had the same problem,
I was able to directly push GB using this method

Followed the instructions to set it back to the stock rom-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129117
Now My build version is VS910ZV4 and my software version is VS910ZV6
O_O
Can it change the build version without changing the software?????
Tried to update, no avail. Nothing happens, I just get the "no software available" crap. Shouldn't it atleast try to update the build version? and is there a reason why it changed my build version to V4 but not my software?

ok so i got started with internet explorer quick question how big is the .tot file??? and then is the dll specific or is it universal with v7?
Three things:
1. I was able to open up that .dll with 7zip. if you right click and try to open with 7zip it wont work. Open 7zip and navigate to the zip, then extract it.
2. You'll have to download the .tot (and possibly the .dll) under IE. The .tot file is 637 megs.
3. The .DLL seems to be universal. Once you open it with 7zip it's the exact same size of the link he gave. I'm 53% into the upgrade so I'll let you know if everything went ok.
EDIT: added a third
Everything worked. Installing Gingervolt 1.3!!!!

After extracting .kdz, you get a .dz file. I tried dz extractors I found, but I can't extract the dz file.
Maybe there's someone having more knowledge about these things?

I hope for a big community for the O4X because of this.
It may sound really stupid and I don't know **** about this subject but just want to think with you guys and maybe help a little. Maybe you can rename the .dz file to .img and then do the normal thing. Don't know if it works and you probably tried it already so...
I don't think renaming can convert a .dz to .img.

It should do the same good things to us. I already extracted the ringtones, wallpapers and icons of it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1635301
It is not terrible if one does not manage to extract the .dz.
An extraction would make it possible to see optimizations of the o4x and thus to use that in the o2x.
Only the total interface of the o4x for Rom stock o2x.
I wasn't able to extract anything either. The usual tools just won't work and even some strange Korean exe files from Google didn't help.
@flix: I hear you're called extraction superman... do you have any idea how to extract a p990 Baseband from a kdz file into a SINGLE fls file? I can extract them into 4 fls files, Paul OB had a way of getting a single fls file but I couldn't find any method for that :-(
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA

I tried that, too. Obviously, it works with the "copy \b" command like the .img files but I didn't try such a copied baseband yet. But you could try it at your own risk.
The new LG PC SUITE for LGP880 thus I also think compatible for O2X also :
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdat.../RST-1204-00311_LCsetup_5.1.15.20120413_4.zip
The .dll for flash the P880 :
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdat...8/[LGFlashTool1377]LGP880_120518_Download.zip
For finish, the name of firmware .bin : LGP880AT-000-V10a-TMO-XXX-MAY-18-2012+0.zip
Please help to recover .
I cannot in which section thus put that if my post is badly placed thank you to move it to me in the good section.
Why does every stock rom file hoster have such slow speeds? I have tried 5 mirrors and they are all like 200-300kbs. Is there a utility to download from mirrors collectively?
There is a tool called Samfirm, however it downloads the file as a .enc4 and I cannot figure out what the hell to do with it. Renaming it as a .zip only results in file corruption via WinRar. Guess well just have to waits days for a Sammobile download to finish. If it doesn't get interrupted. Kinda sad there is no clear cut guide on how to do this with the tool.

Try again. The tool automatically decrypts it into a zip, just make sure to select that. (Check attached screenshot)
