I am going to use a Droid for WiFi calls only.
I have a Droid X but it has really weak WiFi (With CM7 - but it also had weak WiFi with Stock ROM)
Is a Droid A855 any better?
I am looking for one I can purchase for not too much ($100 or less)
I know the LG Optimus V has good WiFi but it also has 320 x 480 Screen Resolution.
I much prefer the Droid's 480 x 854
Any thoughts?
FWIIW: I just flashed my Droid X back to Stock (602.sbf) - the WFi is a lot better than CM7 #154
If this is the wrong place to post this - I am sorry.

So, I'm looking at new phones right now, and I can't figure out the value proposition for a Moto X when the Turbo is out there.
Per http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/help/bands-turbo-support-t2914818 , the Turbo seems to work on non VZW networks (although I'm a VZW customer, I resent being tied to the carrier), and it has better specs in pretty much every department.
The Moto X is cheaper, but once you bump up the internal memory to 32 GB (+$50) and add the TURBO Charger (+$35), you're within $15 of the base model Turbo which includes both, plus the improved battery, processor and screen.
Am I missing something?
The Moto X is a better looking and feeling device. If it had a larger battery I would chose it over the Turbo.

This. Plus it's closer to stock Android. Verizon moved stuff around in the menus and renamed things for no reason in the turbo.
Yeah, I'm not on Verizon so for me the choice would be between the Maxx and the Moto X which as near as I can tell are running very nearly the same software set. In other words making the Maxx kinda like an X thats been hitting the gym so it becomes a why wouldn't I question considering the small price differential. With the Turbo versus X question however outside of the (too) small battery the X would be my preference to as much as possible avoid all things Verizon.
I Owned The First Gen Moto X, And It Was Amazing. It Was A Personal Best For Me, Unfortunately My Moto X First Gen Got Stolen And Now I'm Debating To Either Purchase Another Moto X Or A Moto G 2014. I Really Don't Know Which One To Get. The Moto X 2013 Clearly Has Better Specs, With An 4.7 Inch (Tiny) AMOLED 720 x 1080 Display, 2 GB Of Ram A Better And Faster GPU and CPU, 4G LTE And A Bigger Battery. The Moto G (2014) On The Other Hand Has A 5 Inch (Average) IPS LCD 720 x 1080 Display Which Is Larger But Not As Good As The Moto X. Basically What I'm Asking Is Can You Notice A Huge Difference In Performance And Quality Between The Two Devices? (For Everyday Use).

Always go for higher specs ... I suggest you to choose moto x only because after using a device with higher spec's probably you will feel some kind of hiccups or lag or what so ever in the moto g , as you know moto g second generation comes with only 1gb ram so probably you will notice difficulty in multitasking. I am not saying that moto g second generation is a bad device it is a pretty awesome device for its price tag... And if you want to choose a device with 5 inch screen display and if you don't care about any slight hiccups and not better but good multitasking then you can go for moto g ...

Greetings dude, for a while I owned both moto x 2013 and moto g 2014, at that moment both running Lollipop 5.0.2, honestly for a normal and everyday use the moto g it's enough, however, depending on how many and what type apps you use frecuently, the moto x have a much better capability to manage it, due to his 2 Gb of RAM, and it shows. The Moto X always have a fantastic smooth touch, but the Moto G 2014 it's very capable to manage the every day use and have a very good screen that it's more confortable for web browsing and multimedia consumpsion, (Isn't better but comfortable), and have a microSD slot.
In hand the Moto X give a better feeling, seems and feels more firm and better builded.
In use, the diferences are not huge but are appreciable. Remember, some apps of "everyday use" can be a very "RAMeaters"
I prefer the Moto X, for me it's really better device, the only thing I miss are that 5" screen.
I hope I could help to clarify your doubts
I suggest you get moto x.
even though moto g runs pretty good, the high resolution screen coupled with the low ram and cpu gives a feeling of general sluggishness as compared to the x
I got a Moto G 1st gen for a week for testing, and even thou it has a quadcord 1.2Ghz vs. Moto x dual core 1.7 I must say I like the Moto X a lot more for several reasons:
The camera quality of the Moto G 1st Gen with 5mp is just a joke, you cant really use any of the pictures, so if you want to take some pictures, forget the 1st Gen series.
The 2nd gen Moto Ghas 8MP (moto x 2013 10MP) so thats better already
The Moto G 2nd Gen (without 4G and dual sim) doesnt have any LTE, so the Moto X is better for that, too.
Also the G 2nd Gen has a bigger screen, Im a fan of smaller screens, so my vote goes for the X 2013 there, too
And the big difference is the RAM, 1gb vs. 2gb, for daily use I must say I really can feel the difference. Like when playing Ingress and then switching to gmail, opening some magazine apps etc. on the Moto X I can still return to Ingress without starting the app from scratch again, with the Moto G it really needs to boot up the app from scratch again-->huge downside in my opinion.
But the G has a notification led, I like that more than active display...
Hi everyone, this is for those who have owned both the 2nd-gen Moto X and the Droid Turbo. I'm currently a Turbo owner but I'm thinking about switching to the X for a few reasons (onscreen buttons, faster camera, less bulky, terrible wifi on the Turbo). I realize that the Turbo has much better battery life; however, this is not a concern for me since I work at home and have constant access to a charger. I also don't care about the display resolution as 1080p is just fine for me, and the Snapdragon 801 in the X also doesn't matter vs the 805 since there are fewer pixels to push.
My primary concern with making this change is the camera quality. I don't care that the X has fewer megapixels since 13 is still pretty good; however, I've heard that the 2014 Moto X doesn't have a very good camera quality wise (then again, I've also read that it's mostly comparable to the Turbo in that regard). Is there anyone who has owned both of them who can give me an idea of how the cameras compare between these two phones (particularly in low light, which the Turbo does NOT excel at)?
Thanks!
Hmm, I owned a 2014 X before the Turbo, and in my experience, the camera was noticeably improved with the 5.1 OTA. IMO, you will find it satisfactory

I can buy only this Moto X1, Moto G2 or a LG Spirit 3G (wich includes mediatek processor, not snapdr. 410 like 4G variant)
does the moto x is a good phone in battery terms?
The next thing i caree about after battery, is performance and screen. I those phones i mentioned got good multimedia aspects, but Moto X performs better.
But i'll sacrifice performance and i'll take the one that brings better screen time (with airplane mode but wifi enabled while web browsing, mid bright)
in the reviews everyone says the battery is ok but when it comes to users most of them says it has a pathetic screen time (2-4 hours). Is this true moto x users?
does disabling active display and touchless control help significantly?
I come from a Moto E wich gives 5-6 hours of screen time in conditions i mentioned, so i expect at least the same.
Help me, you'll decide wich phone would be my next phone. Thanks for reading at this point.
Moto e is better in battery consuming but performance and screen resolution is low as compare too moto x.. Moto x battery is ok it gives me 160 mins max on h+ and 4hrs+ on wifi with auto brightness.. Performance is also nice of moto x compared to other variants you mention..
1: moto x
2: moto e
3: lg

The Xs display is definitely very nice, the battery is average, for me it's around 4 to 5hrs OST, but that depends on the user.Ofcourse the battery life is also very much affected by the S4 Pro soc, which is powerful, but power hungry too.
This phone cannot be compared to the others you've listed.
