Is this an invalid question? If it is, sorry, I didn't know.
I thought it was a valid and actually a really good question. I haven't heard of anyone trying it though. You can revert back to the stock GB rom but I don't think that's what you're asking.

yes, i wanted to revert back to one of the custom roms. Since i had to update HBoot to flash ICS, i didnt know if a GB rom was dependent on the HBoot version. Or will reverting back to stock GB rom thr only way to use custom GB roms again?

I would suggest using thecubed's method which he posted over in the development section. Direct link is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529669
safest way to do it I imagine would be to return to stock and then re flash a custom boot kernal and rom
OK, ill try to flash stock GB, then try to flash a custom Rom.
Hope it works out OK,
Thanks for your replies.
Just an update in case anyone was curious.
Flashed custom GB rom without reverting back to stock GB first and everything seems to be working fine. Phone booted with no problem and been playing with it for about 1 hour and no hiccups.
Been running HBOOT 1.85 from ICS with no issues with a GB Sense ROM for a few days now. Radio from ICS seems to be fine with the GB ROM also (don't seem to have any Ril issues).
That is good to know thanks for sharing.

Hi guys,
Just noting that although phone calls, GPS, data, and Wi-Fi don't seem to be an issue on a GB ROM using the ICS radio (3.02.4740.14_34.22.701040.19L), I do notice that the signal bars average 2 or 3 out of 5 in my area. When using an ICS ROM with the same radio, the average signal bars is around 4 or 5. As far as signal strength goes, I cannot tell the difference during usage. However, I do see that it shows less bars in GB versus that in ICS.

Hello,
can i upragde only the radio fw version ?some people are reporting better battery life with the new baseband fw. And if so, can i flash back the old "downrev" fw back, if i had problems ?
From :
Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31.zip - OLD, standard in 2.1 Roms
to
Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25.zip - NEW in Chinise Froyo 2
I currently have the unrbanded wwe version 1.25.405.1 installed.
This is something I too would be interested to know. I have tried to do some serching but this is the first case I can find regarding the new 2.2 radio from the chinese rom.
I am currently on Puzzlerom 7.3
Once the v8 rom / v8.0.1 is stable I will go to that. Unless we have ourselfs a 2.2 froyo rom out before that. As I use my phone in a variety of ways and in multipule situations, I cant go without it for very long. 2 hrs at a time max.
Hope to be able to test things though ^_^
Peace
Just Made the update trough recovery .now iam running at the 2.1 Rom with the new radio firmware active from the new android 2.2 chinese rom. Actually I see no problems at all

All components are working fine (gsm/umts,wlan,gps and bluetooth).
Only the frst Time GPS FIX takes a bit longer after update.
Also, the battery life seems to be a bit longer and the handy seems
to be more stable during calls with active data connections.

Are you really willing to stay on stock velocity? If not, id recommand you Dark Raider rom
Sent from my HTC Raider 4G LTE running ICS.
Agree with Ideal, I have my Velocity on Dark Raider ROM and it is solid. Only problems were Tethering stopped working, got it working as per the many posts about that, and Weather widget kept force closing. This only required cleaning out the Cache from the Weather provider and we're all good now.
Otherwise, you might want to go to this thread that has gone live a couple hours ago.
Good luck Aussie mate!

I had same problem with Telstra Velocity on Dark Raider ROM, not sure why this occurs. I tried both Kozmik RC1 and Beta 7 without luck. I know that other Velocity users use Kozmik kernels and DR rom OK. Anyhow, I re-flashed the ROM with Holics kernel and the wi-fi worked.
The only other problems I had are listed above, otherwise we're sweeeeet

Go in fastboot (assuming you know how and you have correct drivers and stuff) and enter the command "fastboot gervar cid" and post me the output.
That way I will be able to forward you to the correct RUU to run.

i like custom Rom but when i use custom rom, only my wifi get problem
i test with various kernel but ... not worked
tested
Roms : Stock HK ICS Sense 3.6 - deodexed rooted zipaligned
velocity2_nightly5
HOlICS_0.6Beta_en-beats
kernel : kizmik RC1 , stock kernel
I had the same issue when i would reboot my phone it would revert back to the previous kernel and i would loose wifi ( no one has been able to tell me why ) maybe go into phone options and see if the same thing is happening with you? The way i fixed it was to run the ruu and then a custom rom but after that the next time you fastboot a kernel you will have the same problem? ( 2 different phones using different roms and kernel set ups had the same issue ) it would be awesome if someone knew the reason because its a pain in the ass having to run the ruu with every update!
this thing bugs me a lot. why costum gb roms have slow wifi speed? i tried cyanogenmod 7 - slow wifi, then tried cm9 - wifi is ok. but games are very laggy so i'm back at gb with gamerz rom but wifi is slower again, but acceptable. so i'm thinking about restoring original wifi drivers/settings to have normal speed wifi but i don't know is it possible and which files i need to overwrite. to mention i don't have slow wifi, it's 1 MB/sec download, and it needs a few secs to load google, when i'm at ics or stock gb it loads instantly.

Its strange you should mention this as I only got this phone today and I flashed a custom rom and my hsdpa speeds were awful , like 15 k a second max, I tried a few others same result, im now back on stock and its flying, i know it isn't WiFi but its got to be related in weird way !
Custom Rom uses modem that might not always be the best for your region. If you think your stock Rom has better speed, try to download the modem file for that rom and flash it after you flash the custom rom.

Yes I think that must be true ,I found some interesting information and modem files here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1548815&page=46 its seems there isn't anything or any problem that somebody hasn't solved lol, I love this site !
ok, i'll try first that modem from nexus s, if it won't work better then i'm going to flash original modem files
edit: it says for ics, cm7/9 and miui. wil it work on gb? i'm not planing to migrate to ics.
edit 2: nope, nexus s modem not working, gives me error.

Yes these are only for cyanogenmod roms and ics I believe, I'm not sure if the modems can be extracted from the original firmware for use with gingerbread but hopefully there will be a guru who can tell us if it can be done and how to do it, maybe there are some modems for 2.3 on here somewhere, I will have a look as this is something I would like as well ! I would migrate to ics but my data speeds are awful on it!

Hello XDA community!
I'm a new user here and fairly new to rooting my HTC IncS.
Well anyway a few days I rooted my phone and flashed it with the latest lacoste 4.1.2 mod. All is running brilliantly except one thing.
When I first tested calling function I was told that i'm echoing and that the background noise is terrible, then I saw that noise suppression setting was off. After I turned it on everything seemed normal again.
Although today the noise and echoing was back, and the suppression was still on. I tried turning it off and it got normal again, no echo no noise.
Unfortunately during the call it got worse again, just randomly, I didn't touch the settings.
I tried searching for that problem with CM10 but seems that nobody has it, can somebody help me ?
All the best,
Erlend
Try re flashing the ROM. Or try the unofficial CM10. If this problem still persists, I guess you'll have to S-OFF and flash a different radio.

Okay, ill try reflashing it tomorrow, but if I need to flash another radio, which one to choose. Im currently running 20.74.30.0833U_3831.18.00.11_M.
Is there a newer one out there for jelly bean?
Thanks,

Well it's more dependent on the area you're staying in. I've been using the same one since gb and I have no issues.

hi guys
my i9000 boot loops a bazillion times before it finally decides to start up normally.
I was wondering what could be the cause of it and if there's a way to fix this
the phone is rooted on stock gb 2.3.3
(just rooted the phone, didn't flash any custom rom or kernel on it)
everything else works great, except the boot loop problem when I reboot the device sometimes
if flashing is a solution, please recommend something that works great with the i9000
I'm really thinking to flash it, but thought to ask here first
thanks!
