//////////// WE'RE BACK!
Hello again everyone!
After a far too long hiatus building out the Whisper app, (whisper.sh, check it out). We're back for some Senti madness. We've learned a hell of a lot over the past year and are ready to drop some delicious app goodness on you guys. We started by rebooting Wayk. We rebuilt Wayk from the ground up to be a lean, mean, Wayking machine. It's working wonderfully, and we're soft launching this puppy one more time. We've got some sweet features and upgrades in store for you guys and just can't wait to get it all out!
Glad to be back,
Cheers!
////////////////////////// Original Post
Hi everyone,
This is Zed, a noobie developer at Senti. We just soft-launched our first app and I wanted this wonderful community to help us test it out and gather feedback before we started to promote this bad boy.
The app is called Wayk. What we've done is try to completely revamp the way you interact with your alarm. We've created an actual wedge clock that makes setting most alarm times only two taps away. We've also made it so that you just have to wave your hand over the phone to snooze it in the morning. You're greeted with a voice response. We've added your calendar and news feeds for you to read when you wake up in an easy to read format.
We've got a lot to add to this app, but we wanted to guage your interest before putting in the time, because we do have quite a few apps in the labs right now.
We'd really appreciate bug reports, feature requests and improvements you might have!
Thanks!
P.S. You can see screenshots in the market description or on our website http://senti.in

Great! Looking forward to your feedback

Looks cool, will also test tonight.
Edit:
Downloaded, installed without a problem. Ran a test alarm. Initially very impressed with the app design and modern style. The wake up voice addressing you by name and telling you the weather and opening Cnet was awesome. The swipe to snooze feature works for the most part. In the morning in a groggy state I don't see it working well enough to be as convenient as a quick mindless swipe, you would actually have to make sure to slowly go directly over the sensor for it to trigger properly. However I need to actually sleep and then try it before I make any real comments.
The only negative things were that on my mdpi HTC Aria on cm 7.2.0 the first pane of the tutorial goes below the viewing area and you cant swipe down to see it and cant go landscape. Also that on the alarm time set screen with the radial menus, the listed alarms and times go below the viewing area so that to save and finish the alarm you need be careful not to mess up your alarm settings while doing so which I did a couple of times on accident.
Also, on the radial menus you can set any time by five minutes, but how do you set them to any number in between? For example I want to set an alarm for 7:33 in the morning, so I tried messing with the smallest inner circle bar and could barely ever get it to move when I wanted it to and ended up going to another interval five minutes later.
Overall really impressed over the improvements from the default alarm. Will try tomorrow in a real sleep and then wake up setting to see if everything is still good.

Wow! I appreciate the feedback already. I can see the issues are mainly stemming from our weak accommodation of mdpi devices. We'll get that sorted out asap.
If you had been able to read the clock screen on the tutorial, it would have told you tapping more than once on a 5 minute wedge adds a minute. It's interesting that you tried interacting with the minute wedges themselves. We'll look into adding support for that, since it seems to be a (more?) natural interaction.
Thanks a bunch for your input so far! I look forward to seeing how it works for you in the morning!

I suggest you test it out real quick now, if you have something important to wake up for in the morning. Just in case.

Love the app so far.
Just did a quick test to see if it works, and it does.
It did have a problem loading my Calendar, it just said Loading...
The waving thing worked
Some suggestions:
I really like how to overall UI looks, when you start the app it shows ALARMS in a organized manner and thats really good, but when the alarm actually rings, I think you should change the sign from the sun to something else, or that in HD because it showed up really LOW res on my phone.
Also Make the MENU button options icons like NEW ALARM, SETTINGS etc. a better suited color. Green, red, etc does not look good on this simplistic white/blue UI.
Another problem; When selecting what time the alarm should be go off on, we cannot choose by exact minutes, or am i doing something wrong? You should probably add the feature to just press the [TIME] and keyboard pops up and then you can customize the time.
Also how does the voice work? I'm going to sleep right now, and do not want a weird voice talking to me and freaking me out in the morning so i've turned it off for now, but i'll report on it later.
edit: also you should probably add a alarm clock icon to the notification bar and make it optional to remove/keep it so people know if the alarm is active or not.

Here we go. I love it. The UI is awesome and simple. Everything works. You guys should try and add voice command!

You can set exact minutes by tapping on the currently highlighted 5 minute wedge. Each tap adds a minute to the wedge.
This is obviously an issue though. We failed to deliver a sensible minute setting method.

We understand that the stock android voice is terrible, so we made the voice interaction as low key as possible. We think it turned out really nice and unobtrusive. You should try it out!

I think they were asking for a notification in the notification bar that says when the next alarm is going to ring with the option to enable or disable it in the settings. Would you like to see that feature included as well?
Btw, thanks again for all the help everyone. It's invaluable and we really appreciate it!

I've downloaded and installed it. I'll let you know how well it works tomorrow morning.
Honestly, there are too many good clock/alarm apps out there. I have Dock Clock for when my phone is charging at work in the morning, Alarm Clock Plus for work after noon (I like to listen to music at my desk and ACP has an awesome option to include widgets on the Dock Clock, meaning I can have google music controls while still displaying the clock), and some combination of those and stock alarms for waking me up in the morning. Now I get to add this to the mix as well!

Great App.
Very clean and easy to use.
Will there be a 24 hours clock?
Created with Galaxy S AOKP

Nice app indeed, i really like the whole concept of making available the infos you need in the morning all at once.
I had some problem though:
-the ringtone the alarm uses is not the one I choose but the stock one
-except for the first time I used it, it force closes when snoozing and doesn't show any of the feed selected
Probably the FC i due to the fact that I run a custom rom. I will test a little more thoroughly, may be I find out what's the problem.

There are no plans for adding a 24 hour clock. We'll run a poll to see if there is enough interest. We have plans for a possible overhaul of the clock. Adding a 24 hour option would be really easy if we went with the plans for the new clock. I'll keep you posted.

this app is awesome...however is there a setting to make it so i have to press a button to disable the alarm...i think simply moving the phone is wayyy to sensitive...in a half-sleep state i feel like i could easy touch my phone and fall back a sleep...especially if im trying to "wave" and enable snooze

Can't confirm it right now, don't have my phone, but there is a option to disable the waving feature but im not sure how you would snooze after that..

[req] alarm clock with g-sensor

I have an idea for a app that would use G-Sensor... Alarm clock to replace the "not so good to use wm6.1 one"
It could turn off the alarm when shaking the phone... Tilting your phone face down would give you pre configured amount of extra time after alarm...
Also fullscreen buttons for deactivation and snooze would be nice... The stylus tends to be really crappy to use in the mornings.
Mp3 support...
Could easily pay 20EUR for a working software like this...
When people wake up in the morning they are usually very tired. I can easily see people losing grip on the phone while shaking it to silence the alarm. The consequences might be hard.
Nice Idea, sounds logical and doable I hope a serious developers picks up the idea. A nice finger friendly way of setting would be great as well. You should probably put a link to this thread in the G sensor apps sticky.
think it is a great idea !
yeah there was some mention of this in the Schap's 5.00 ROM development page, but yeah if someone could make a stand alone program which uses the G-sensor, or at least big finger friendly buttons to turn it off, that would b gr8

YES to that !!!
Also, it would be nice if the alarm notice on the Today screen, will show not only the time of the next alarm, but also the amount of hours left for the next alarm (like in SPB Mobile Shell).
This is a great idea! The alarm on my phone really pissed me off this morning (you have to dig through the task bar to get to it, menu item to snooze, blah!). I'll have it done sometime later today or early tomorrow!
Doh - Koush was faster...
i also like this idea!
Yep - Very good idea!!

Actually I've already implemented this function in my user interface. It stops alarm, but I could also add an option to delay alarm, that's a good idea!
Schaps, you're just the MASTER of Rom Cooking.....
Yeah - great idea...
Easy alarm setup from somewhere within the touchflo interface would be great.
There should be an option if shaking kills the alarm or just acts like a "snooze" function which delays the alarm by 10 min...
We need that
alarm
Is this out yet? would be awesome! looking forward to this!!
Hi all, I finished the alarm program as promised (I'm calling it Klaxon). I'm working on making the application look pretty now, sadly I'm not very artistic. If anyone wants to donate some bitmaps that I can use as the buttons, that would be awesome!
I'll provide a link to the CAB shortly.
Features:
Unlimited number of alarms.
You can customize the alarm in the following ways:
-Alarm sound file (MP3, WAV, WMV)
-Snooze Time
-Expire Time (so it doesn't go on forever)
-Days of the week to use the alarm
-Time of day to go off (obviously)
-Enable/Disable
-Flip the phone over from any orientation to "snooze" it.
-I'm thinking about putting a shake functionality to turn it off, but sleepy people may destroy their phones!
-Big finger friendly buttons.
Let me know if you guys have any more suggestions!
Sounds great Koush! I look forward to help beta-test the alarm program!

Koush,
Once you set the alarm to wake you at a certain hour, is it possible to see on the "Today" screen, not only the time that the alarm suppose to start, but also the amount of hours that are left until the alarm will start ?
For example, if the time now is 11:00pm, and you set the alarm for 7:00am, then on the Today screen it will show: "7:00am (8 hours from now)".
Koush,
Another suggestion: is it possible for you to add an option that once you set an alarm, the device will switch to Silent Profile, and once the alarm goes off and you deactivate it, the sound profile gets back to what it was before ?
Everytime I set the alarm at night, I also need to switch the profile to Silent, so no one will wake me up while I sleep. When I get up in the morning, I need to set the sound profile back to normal. It would be nice if your alarm could save the hassle.
Hi Koush, fast work, how about turn the phone over twice, or over and back, to kill the alarm, once to snooze? Looking forward to your cab. Thanks
Excellent Idea
Wait fro the CAB

[APP]Klaxon - G-Sensor enabled Alarm Clock

This is your standard Alarm Clock with some new features!
Flip your phone over to snooze the alarm.
Customize your snooze time.
Wake up to songs on your SD card.
Version 1, and this is XDA-Devs so I'm counting you guys to give me constructive criticism and report bugs.

Grab it off the Market!
This should work on top of the pattern password. When the alarm goes off it needs to pop up on top of everything on the phone.
It looks exactly like the Alarm that comes on the phone and I kinda dont like that since I want to be able to distinguish the 2.
tnx great start

Klaxon can use your phone's accelerometer:
Flip your phone over to snooze the alarm.
Shake your phone to turn off the alarm.
In addition, you can now pick a song off your SD card to use as your alarm sound!

Try "long" shakes as opposed to "short" or "quick" shakes. The accelerometers are right next to the speakers, and are very sensitive... while developing this, I found the alarm sound itself would make the accelerometer think it is being shaken. The only way I could fix this was by responding to only certain types of shakes.
Hahaha, the default alarm is not something to be used in a very quiet office environment. I about pee'd myself.
Hey, first off pretty good app and its useful..
i know it might be taking a chunk of your time..but how bout some options like "join the dots" maze or something like that for us heavy sleepers
something like the g-alarm...if you know what i mean...
It doesn't seem to work all the time. Sometimes I shake and it works other times it doesn't work, cool app though! This should be posted in apps thread.
is there anyway to set a default snooze time and a default alarm sound... or u have to set that up with each new alarm that u create....?
The flipover for snooze is really cool. I shook the phone like a crying baby and it would still not turn the alarm off.
How hard and with what intensity does one have to shake the phone to silence the alarm?
BTW: Default alarm made me think the fire suppression system was going off in the data center next to my office.
Unfortunately I had to remove the shake to turn off feature: it's too hard to distinguish between when someone is shaking the phone and when the phone is just vibrating because music is playing.
In fact, there used to be a bug where the alarm would turn off because the music "shook" the phone. Sometimes it would register readings of up to 2.5Gs... which is a lot.
The Diamond didn't have this problem; I am guessing this is because the accelerometer location is probably closer to the speaker on the G1 than it was on the Diamond.
I added customizable snooze this last version too.
The flipover for snooze is plenty enough for me. Definitely a fun and very functional app. Doesn't always like to snooze if its on a soft surface I noticed. I stuck it between two pillows and reached in and flipped it over... took a couple flips to get it to recognize the flip. Works perfect on any hard surface like a desk or countertop.
what about this for an idea: when you pick up the phone upright, it acknoweldges the alarm- when it's flipped over, it snoozes?

Check this out: Lockscreen Widgets

I haven't tested it out yet but this caught my eye... put widgets on your lockscreen like Touiteur or Mixzing... etc...
For only 99 cents!
http://androinica.com/2010/07/16/wa...ckscreen-get-widget-locker-video-app-reviews/
I've now tested it a little more... You can also add shortcuts and change the style of the lock...
It does show the stock lockscreen for a second sometimes before it loads up and sometimes hangs before unlocking... but like mixedlemon said below... its a lot better than Lockbot... and does widgets!
I'm using xtrROM3.0.3 @ 748mhz
Saw this, it looks pretty sweet. Don't have any cash on my card at the moment though, so I can't try it out.
This is awesome, it's working great.
Nice find!
I saw this app the other day. Apparently, the developer is going to be releasing a new verison within the next week which will include different slider styles as well as sliders that can have different functions. Seems pretty sweet. I just need to know if there's any lag when in use.

i actually have noticed some lag every now and then... still trying to decide whether it bothers me enought to return it or just keep it... its only a buck i guess....

You can see it showing the stock lockscreen for a fraction of a second sometimes, but it has a nice fade effect to the widgets, so it isn't too obtrusive.

After viewing your video, I decided to give it a go. It seemed pretty fast when I used it (xtrROM 2.1/OC-710mhz), however, I really couldn't think of which widgets to put on it haha Also, it seemed to interfere with the Handcent sms popup feature. Anyway, thanks again for the video! Very in-depth...
Thanks! I'm glad I could help.
I've never really used handcent, what are the advantages of its SMS popup over, say, putting a messenger widget on your lockscreen?

I like it because it pops up over the lockscreen, but if you don't access it within the normal screen timeout (I think), it goes behind the lockscreen. The popup allows you to delete the message or do a quick or voice reply. You can have it set to mark the message as read if you close the popup, but if you press the back button on the Eris itself, handcent still shows the message as unread, which I find useful if I want to do something else but still have that reminder in my notification bar. I also have my Eris set up to go to the compose screen with a long click on the search button.
Sorry if this is confusing. It's just my personal preference.
downloaded this morning and really like it. Very flexible. anyone notice any performance or lag issues since install? mine seems to be solid so far.

Yes, I have as well. I got curious about what could be causing that. In addition, I've noticed that often when I unlock, my Pure Calendar widget shows no events. Occasionally, even LP itself has to redraw all the homescreens, which takes at least 5 seconds. First, I tried changing the LP memory settings to "medium." No effect. Then, however, I thought that maybe the "Helper" app that the developer suggests we use as our home app, has something to do with it. So, I decided to change the default home back to LauncherPro. According to the dev, there is some sore of 5 second delay when pressing the "Home" button on the device if the helper app is not set as the default home. I have found that contrary to what he has said, THIS IS NOT THE CASE. I can unlock via my custom sliders AND the Home button, and there is virtually NO detectable delay compared to using it with the helper app as the default home.
Observations after resetting LP as the default home:
-- No disappearing events in Pure Calendar (scrolling enabled)
-- No redraw on exiting lockscreen into homescreens
-- WidgetLocker STILL replaces stock lockscreen at boot
-- Battery life versus helper app as default home: I used the phone for several calls (one as long as 26min), texts, and occasional data, and was able to squeeze around 17 hours out of it. This seems to be better than using the Helper app as the default home.
-- If you enter WidgetLocker from your app menu, News/Weather widget will cease rotating among news items. However, if you reboot and let WidgetLocker replaced the standard lockscreen by itself, it will act like normal.
My setup:
-- XtrROM 3.0.3
-- No OC
-- Nexus One lockscreen patch
-- LauncherPro 0.7.1.0
-- WidgetLocker notification bar icon disabled
Sorry if this was long-winded and confusing. I hope this helps anyone on the fence about buying this app or those on LP or with Pure Calendar who are experiencing similar problems. After these tweaks, I can now say I'm glad I paid for this app!

[APP][UPDATE 10/10/2010]CarMode V3

Thread moved to - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=806018
Please unfollow this thread and visit the link above instead for latest updates.
Introducing CarMode, an alternative to Car Home. Basically what it does is it shows you huge buttons to important apps that you might use when driving a vehicle with less distraction than manually waking your phone, opening the app drawer, etc. Unlike Car Home, this app will give you more flexibility and more settings to poke around with (even better in future updates).
Looks best with MDPI devices (320x480 resolution, e.g. Droid Eris).
As of now, this app is currently in Alpha phase. What you see right now does not reflect how it will look like and work in the future. I'm working hard to make changes and add more features. Currently NOT in the Market but available on GetJar.com

* Dialer
* Messages
* Call logs
* Shazam
* Navigation
* Voice Search
* Contacts
* Music
* Maps
* Display
* Settings
* Notes - opens a built-in note-taker with save and load features.
To-Do-List:
Where-did-I-park? feature
Be able to set apps to open by default, 3rd party apps (Dialer One, Handcent, etc)
Add more tools, options
Fix layout for HDPI devices
Auto-fill when hiding apps
Fix landscape layout
Choose own apps to launch
Changelog:
v3 October 10:
Changed theme
Removed button sets (temporary)
Added more buttons
Reworked layout
Added a persistent option to hide/show buttons
v2 October 5:
Changed app icon.
Added two button sets
Added several settings options
7 total buttons
v1 October 1:
First release
What else should I add? The less the better 'cause I don't want people to be distracted too much when driving! Please do suggest! If you're familiar with App Inventor and is good at it, may I ask some advice from you? Send me a PM. Thank you!

Whoa it worked?! Nice Thank you for testing it!
And yeah, I just need to fix the graphics and such @[email protected]
For the Display, I directed it to the Display settings so you can put the screen on for whatever time limit you want before it goes off, useful if you're driving so you don't have to press the End call button to wake the phone xD
Nice job. I don't use Shazam so I can't test that. Everthing worked fine except the dialer button. It FC every time I tried it. Maybe because mine is themed or because the rom I'm on has a different dialer than the one you created the app with.
Great work. Looking forward to seeing a custom icon.

Oh, the Dialer actually uses the "Dialer One" app. You can get it from the Market. I'm actually working on it. Fixing and stuff. I'll let you guys know for changes. I'll be posting a new version by the end of the day.
Thanks for trying it out!
V2
V2 works well for me again. One thing that I notice is that when I hide one of the icons they come back when I open the program back up. It would be nice if the settings would stick. Nice progress though
I like the themes and the option to hide unwanted apps but a few things that I noticed:
Can you only display the disclaimer at initial open?
I get FC when navigating back from any given app.
Large file size.
Keep at it, it's coming along nicely.

Good one, I'll try to find a way to hide the disclaimer and not be very intrusive.
The size is my problem too. Probably because of the themes. I'm thinking of making another package for themes but I don't know how to do that yet. I'll find ways to decrease the file size.
Again, thanks you two Your feedbacks will help me improve this app by A LOT!
The file size really isn't that big a deal (apps2sd) but if you find a way to trim it, it would be nice.

Yeah, A2SD FTW
I'm somehow looking for a way to modify apps from App Inventor so I can publish them to the Market so updating would be easier.
New update tonight 10/09/2010
v3 is up! Please test it out? Thank you so much!
screens look awesome. gonna try to dl and try tonight.
Well........That was a major improvement! I love the new interface. It is very quick and smooth. Keep up the good work. Its coming along wonderfully. Again major improvement over v.2!
Awesome app! Much more stable than the last version. I tried everything and couldn't get it to FC at all. I like the different tabs and the hidden disclaimer...and that it no longer has the stock icon. A few constructive suggestions for V4:
When apps are deselected in the settings, have the main screen autofill (it currently leaves a blank box).
Fix orientation for landscape so you don't have to scroll down to see the rest of the apps.
There was a blank app box (not sure if that's supposed to be there).
Is it possible to let the users select their own apps/settings for it to call on? This would eliminate the need to add a bunch of apps and have the user deselect unwanted ones.
This app has come a long way. Can't wait to try out the next version.

-Autofill
-Landscape mode
-Fill in blank box xD That was just a filler cause I didn't know what to add there.
-Ability to select own apps
-Where-did-I-park? feature
Thank you for the suggestions, I'll try to find ways to add those. They're good ones too. My only problem is that the landscape and the choice to add own stuff would probably take a while. I have to find a way around App Inventor. It has a lot of limitations that's why I can't implement some other stuff.
But again, we'll see. I appreciate the output!
Hi,
Does this work with HTC desire? I tried to install it, but it closes down everytime I start phone oglor an app that has to do with contacts. Navigation is working fine
I tried to disable the empty button on page 2 and now I get an error when trying to open settings?

Yes, I made an error and based the actions/intent on Froyo ROM. I forgot that this differs with every ROM/version/phone.
If you could help me, if ever you have LauncherPro as home replacement app, could you go to your desktop, hold down screen and choose Shortcuts > Activities and look for the app that force closes and give me (if you don't mind), all the things that has starts with a com.* etc, etc under the Dialer for example. That way, I can fix it

[Android 3.0+, ROOT] TabletBar Hider - fullscreen in Honeycomb without system bar!

TabletBar Hider
Want to use your honeycomb tablet in *true* fullscreen, without that pesky system bar in the way? Now you can! (REQUIRES ROOT!)
This app allows you to hide the system bar in landscape mode, where it gets in the way the most. Then, if you need to access it to leave the app, just rotate your tablet to portrait and the bar appears. When you're done, rotate it back to landscape and the bar disappears again. You can go back to the app and end that behavior at any time.
There is currently an issue with apps that prevent rotation - you may get stuck in them! But worst case, you can always reboot and everything goes back to normal. I will work on a fix for that if people like the app!
I am new to Android app development so please let me know if there are any issues! I have created a free demo version that you can run to verify that the app will properly hide and restore the system bar on your tablet. I have tested this on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but not others yet! So please make sure to try the demo first.
Note that the demo is only for verifying that the app can kill and restore the system bar. It does not feature the automatic rotation service that the full version contains.

Well thought! tested the demo and working well on arabic rom p7510jpkg5. Though expected demo to be a little more useful beyond just hiding and restoring the bottom bar. Couldn't revert to home screen after applying the tweak. The full version could have been free.
well done.
It's useful...thanks
Works great on my Xoom but some time in future development it would be nice to have the option of a transparent status bar too.
Bought it in hopes that you'll be further developing it. Further development on this that could really turn heads would be access to the full apps list with the ability to check mark which ones you want the taskbar hider to work with (and more importantly, which ones you don't).
Great idea. Looking forward to where this might go.
Please consider making it work with multitouch gestures.
I have my tablet set to always stay in Landscape mode (unless an app forces me into portrait mode). So the current way of hiding and restoring the status bar is a PITA.
What you could (should) do is this.
Two finger swipe down off of the screen = Hide status bar.
Two finger swipe up onto the screen = Restore status bar.
Does that make sense?
It's a great start!

this would be really nice!
It would be great if it would work with wizz or have like a wiz type bar where i can click bottom middle during any app and bring up home and back and multi task and then even better like wizz i can add my own!
edit:
on adw ex I have swipe down as notifications. with this thing enabled. I swipe down and my notifications dont pop up really wished that I could swipe down for my notifications with the bar off
O well, guess its good for specific apps although I would really like to see it as a more accessible thing like wizzbar

Yes, I know its a simple app and it could be free, but this is kind of an experiment for me to see if I can make money writing apps. It also will provide the encouragement I need to keep developing it. And yeah, the demo is just to make sure people don't get stuck buying the paid app and have it not work. Its not really intended to be useful.

Actually I was originally going to hook into the volume buttons, and have one hide it and one restore it, but I found that background services don't have access to the volume buttons. Orientation was less ideal, but It was something I could hook into from the background. I'm not sure if background services can see the gestures, but I will look into it! One thing I know I can do is look at the accelerometer instead of the orientation. That way even if you're locked, you can still rotate to show the bar. Of course.. then its sideways, and that's weird. But thanks for the words of encouragement as well!

Ooh, yeah the app kills the process that contains the notifications, so that is one area where it won't work. Also, I said this above but I'm not sure if I can see gestures from a background process. But I will look into it for sure! That would definitely be better.
I also realized that if I implement the suggestion above about selecting which apps to disable my app on, I could have it also disabled on the home screen. That would be nice.
-Taylor
So, I just realized that the Market app doesn't allow rotation, and it can appear that you're stuck. I will definitely have to add a way to filter which apps this is enabled for.
For the meantime, you're not actually stuck in Market. Just use the menu on the top right and go to "Contact us" and it will open the browser.
Silly, for sure. I'll try to add the fix soon. Probably not till the weekend though.

Awesome Work!
I have Wavelauncher installed and it's a good workaround. If I'm in an app that won't rotate I just swipe for Wavelaunch. It can show recent apps and user defined apps. If the app you want isn't listed, just pick one that does portrait to get the system bar back. If this app can come up there must be a way for you to do a swipe gesture to bring the bar back,
Anyway, thanks for this app! Love watching movies without the bar at the bottom!

I actually found virtual button bar in the market, works like a dream. Lovin the fullscreen now!
]
A nice feature would be:
Have the system bar timeout and hide itself after a set time amount of inactivity. Say... if you do not touch anything that has to do with the system bar for a whole minute, it will automatically hide itself. Swiping up could bring it back up or something like that. Would be extremely useful. Kinda like how Windows has the auto hide taskbar feature to give more screen space.
Honestly, I think auto hiding the system bar should be something Google should cook up and bring natively to the Honeycomb tablets. It makes sense to do that if you think about it. I know that the icons and such will dim down to white dots after a few seconds while using certain parts of the system apps, but something like auto hiding the entire system bar altogether will be far superior.
I still like the idea of checking off the apps this is allowed to work in on a list. I imagine that's a lot of work.
Perhaps in the mean time, you could implement a hidden button that could toggle the taskbar by tapping in the extreme upper right or left corner. That (I imagine) should be a lot simpler to do for the time being.
I wouldn't hesitate to spend $2.00-2.50 on the finished app.
I hope you could get it to work with the international 3G Xoom. MZ601
Hey guys,
Man, I don't get what the deal is with forums *not* e-mailing me even though I have notifications enabled.
But yeah, I have been brainstorming ways to make this work better. The simplest idea, and what I will try to enable this weekend, is shaking the tablet to toggle the bar.
Hooking into rotation was the simplest thing and I just wanted to get off the ground and see if people liked it. Clearly you guys do (thanks!) so I gotta make this app easier to use.
I looked up how to do swiping, and apparently background apps are not supposed to have access to touch events, for security (imagine if an app secretly waited till your banking app was running and then watched locations pressed on the screen when you typed your password). So people seem to think apps that run in the background and read swipes are using some kind of unsupported security holes, and my initial search only found people not willing to talk about it. Still, I haven't spent much time on it yet, busy week!
But I will look at it this weekend and see what I can do to improve it. I also gotta shoot a youtube videos as I have what feels like a high rate of returns - I think it would be really helpful if people saw how it worked before downloading.
And I finally got a review, yay! Of course if you have any opinions on the app I'd love a review!

Does it not? Is your tablet rooted? This app cannot work without root, unfortunately.
Let me rephrase it. According to the market, your app is not compatible with my MZ601. When i do a search through the market it doesn't come up in the list. Its strange though since I was able to download your tester and it worked. I really would like to have this on my Xoom. And yes' I am rooted and running the Hammerhead ROM.
Have you checked your spam folder? A lot of times emails get marked as spam specially ibes coming from forums.

Hmm... weird. I haven't purposefully hidden it from any devices. As far as I am aware it should work with every Honeycomb device.
I'll look into that this weekend.
And I checked my spam folder. Nothing there. I'll double check my notification settings.
