How can I swap ?

Hi all,
I've made my own "theme" (the word is a bit exaggerated) by using DHD-PowerControl-1.72.405.2_notxt and cook it with UOT.
The result is in blue in the screen below.
But, I'd like to swap it with the one made with the one made by he_stheone64 in PowerNotificationWidget2.2.1 (see the red rectangle in screen below).
The problem is that PowerNotificationWidget2.2.1 changes other things I wouldn't like to be scrashed (like icons above or non-transparent carbon-look background below).
Then I tried to do the same of what I did for the white one : cooking framework-res.apk. But I had the long error log you can also see below.
So, could someone help me to do that swap and perhaps if possible, make the little bars below each toggles a bit more green than blue.

I'm working on something similar as well - a notification bar power control, based on the latest 2.1.1 services.jar and the customisation app. The idea is that it's as close to stock framework as possible, so that it can be uploaded to UOT (or otherwise themed with metamorph etc.).
This is mainly just a learning exercise for me in decompiling and modifying files, but if it works I can share it. I find the toggles show up better on a black background than a white one, so hope to include black background as an option - though I think that might break compatibility with UOT kitchen, so there might have to be 2 versions. It's a work in progress, though, depending on my free time, so I can't promise when it'll be done. I'll post here if I get it working though!

Hi Preach,
So far, I managed to swap the toggles png's (taking png's from he_stheone64's file) but no way to find and put the black background.
I would also like to have the little bars below more green than current blue. For this I guess it's in an xml file, but can not find which one (and how to do).
Liamstears told me there's was a mistake he_stheone64 could fix, but it's seems not to the case. He also told me he could help me to fix that, but he certainly doesn't have time.
I don't know in which direction to go but if you have any idea, I would be happy to make tries with you.

I made for myself something like this It is a little bit tricked but effect is like on screen. This mod has no transparency in notification but it looks as STOCK as possible cause i prefer stock one
To change colour of those indicators u use app (which is installed with PowerMOD) U got there color picker. With bacground it`s not so easy thats why i tricked it a little removed bacground of toggles (made it transaprent) and set up whole notifiacion with chosen background and effect U see is below:
Will post this mod in my thread tommorow if somebody will need this

This is exactly what I'm looking for (and probably the same for Preacher65).
As I can see, your framework-res.apk is cookable in UOT (battery).
Below notification, you manage to keep carbon background instead of white background, is it made with the same tweak ?

I`m afraid my mod isn`t compatibile with UOT ... only leamstear framework-res.apk is cookable in UOT. All thing I do is manually changed by me. It is the easiest way for me Guys cook in OUT icons U want and than manually mix them with for ex. my mod. Thats easiest way I make all my icons/mods/ manually automat will never generate icons I like Will post it as soon as possible. The trick is I set up ONE bacground for notification and Power mod ... this is only ONE SINGLE background ... PowerMod background is transparent so wee se background from notification (which is carbon one) So when U slide up notification area U see how background moves behind Toggles But in static position it looks like on the screen (for me PERFECT and AS STOCK AS POSSIBLE)

Ok I downloaded your PowerNotificationMod by Krzysiec but it doesn't look like your screen above (see mine below, where there is the carrier and the DesireHD mark at the bottom).
And I have to find a way to include the icons (see other screen) I cooked from UOT which has more than battery icons..

About icons... just pull them off from framework-res U cooked in UOT and drag and drop into my framework For battery U must replace all needed files and three compiled xml if U got different animation than BASIC from UOT.

Ok, for this, I can search for all the considered icons by comparing with the one shown in UOT and I guess they will crush over the existing stock one.
Is that right ?

I'm not sure to understand what you mean.
My battery icons are the one you see in my previous screen called "Version B, White numbers". So I think this is the basic from UOT. Aren't they ?
If not what are these 3 compiled xml and from wher do I take them ?
EDIT : I saw that you updated your thread at 14:55 (CET) so I thought you updated the file. But it's still the same look... Perhaps you didn't update ?

About icons...
Unpack framework-res.apk and go to res/drawable-hdpi(-v4) folder. U got there every signle icon. Names of them are the same as mine (they must be the same to sytem recognize them via xml)
For battery:
U will see plenty of icons in res/drawable-hdpi(-v4) folder too... as many icons as percentage in Your battery U will see it when U unpack Your framework.
About XMLs U need to pull three xmls from Your cooked UOT framework from res/drawable:
-stat_sys_battery.xml
-stat_sys_battery_charge.xml
-zzz_stat_sys_battery_1.xml
Those files are responisble for whole battery indicator. Just replace them with Your cooked one.
EDIT: should be fine now :/ YEs it was updated than ... Hmmm strange ... Wait a sec.

Checked graphic and there`re no more graphic like on screen (they were there at start but not now).
If in some way U won`t get it to work... Install my PureBlack skin and use it ... This will DEFINITELLY change those graphic. But How i said there no way to still have those hraphic there. Will check again for sure.

EDIT : I cleared my cache, DL again, and same file seems to have different amount of bytes. I try again.

Just fresh flash (16:07) on mine and it looks like this (default skin):
I don`t know what`s wrong than :/ Maybe U flash all the time the wrong file which have the same name?

See my EDIT above : same name of file => so kept in FF cache.
Cleared cache, last file a bit bigger. Flashing now.

That`s definitely reason FF tought it was the same file so didn`t downloasd it again. CHROME makes it too saomtimes.

Extract two framework-res.apk from my and UOT... Put them in different folders. Than pull via WinRAR /res/drawable-hdpi-v4 from both (in their folders) Than mix graphic U want from Yours into mine and but them back into framework-res.apk of mine ... U don`t have to sign anything. After mixing put "new" frameowrk-res.apk into my zip and viola!
Of course i`m talking about statusbar icons only because if U change whole folder U won`t get effect like on screen U must see te structure of drawable-hdpi
If U like my battery animation do not change xmls i mentioned earlier If U don`t like it change them from Your UOT framework
PS. Now U understand HOW I DID THE TRICK with carbon background in my mod

The artwork is made by walfas himself~

PS: It's a transparent PNG so you have to send it via Mail to your phone or use the Windows Phone Device Manager.

I like the fact, that the transparent stuff is black at first. So I made this cute one with little Okuu and Orin~
Edit2: I just noticed, that my PNGs get converted into JPG when I upload them here D: I added links to them. You can treat the attachments as thumbnails

Musashi Lock Screen
So i am a bit of a Japanese culture fan and love my Samurai so i made this one based on an illistration of him. I cannot attach it though, how did you get the jpg uploaded and avoid the file type check?
(for now i have zipped it up, just save, unzip and email it to your phone)

For some reason I can't get the lockscreens to work, I did everything as it said, did I miss anything or am I supposed to do something else to the phone before I set the lockscreens? If I could get some help I would really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

you have to either email the png( image) or copy to device through windows device manager.... and set it as lockscreen... and it is black but when you touch the screen you can see through it....

Thanks. I'll go back step by step, see if I did anything wrong if not, I'll have to do it through WDM. Also can regular pics be turn into see through lockscreens? I got a couple that I would like to see as transparent in my lockscreen. Thanks again

In PhotoShop anything is possible lol if you post them to a pm I'll have a go at tweaking it.

I just figured out why the screens didn't want to work. Apparently taking my pasword lock off was the solution. If I put the password lock back on it doesn go transparent. I guess that's the price you pay for having a great looking screen

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you go around saving this thing anyway? It only allows me to save in .jpg format when i open in my browser i.e. chrome, IE mailing the jpg to my phone doesn't seems to have the transparent effect

Save the jpeg on your desktop. Now right click on it, and open with paint (The windows paint program.) Once its open, click the file/save as, and change from jpeg to png. Now email it to your self. Open the attachment on your phone, and save as wallpaper.
Job done.

Done that, but still it doesn't gives the transparency effect =S, it just came up with white b/g. I use win 7 default paint program to convert

Windows Paint doesn't support the 6bit transparency of a 32bit png. You have to use either Photoshop, GIMP, paint.NET, etc. When you save it it has to be a 32bit PNG. Also you have to send it via mail or use the WP Device Manager. ZUNE doesn't support PNGs. The transparent stuff is black unless you touch the lockscreen.

Don't bother with it when you plan to update to Mango since it doesn't support translarent PNGs anymore. I'll post my current Lockscreen in my first post instead

Hello Everyone...I can confirm that transparent Lock Wallpapers still work for Mango...I used paint.net to edit the wallpaper and emailed it to myself and the transparent wallpaper works...Oh and I can also confirm that using a password works with transparent wallpaper as well...

can we show battery% on default?

just have a look the systemUI.apk and found out that there have 100 png with different percentage of battery icon, can we make the status bar battery icon shows percentages?

I have 7.0 plus. I used UOT Kitchen, which worked but images were too small. had to find a custom set with larger batteries and copy them over. It worked, now shows % in system panel pop up as well.

If you don't mind having an extra icon in your status bar, download Battery Circle from the Market. Of course once we have custom ROM's you won't need this anymore, but for the moment, it's the next best thing.

All battery PNGs are in "framework-res.apk\res\drawable-mdpi" and are named as "stat_sys_battery_XX.png" and "stat_sys_battery_charge_animXX.png"
from my previous experience in modding framework-res and systemUI the procedure will be like that:
- mod via UOTkitchen the 2 files (with 100 set of icons - incl. charging)
- edit resultant apk's by replacing PNGs with the new desired ones (check also attached zip) - must be 32X32 pixels (should be resized and orientated)
- make a flash-able zip.
- apply in CWM.
Could work, depends on UOT .

I'll try to find another icons set; pngs from attachment were used in HTC Desire S and are horizontally oriented (phone); maybe in other forums I'll find some tablet-specific icons.

tablet icon would be great, seems all UOT battery icons are 38x38

[APP- New instal file] PopUp Browser, Fully Resizable, With Mini App Launcher Icon

I have changed Popup Browser, and now, it shows an browser image in task bar and configuration window.
Also I've released other little changes.
Credits to pidio1 as "originally released it without the icon"
Thanks to mjrshark for the image I've tooked from this forum.
New version ------ Now, the attached apk must see well in GT-P31xx devices.

Just a thought: You should change this threads title to something like "[APP]PopUp Browser, Fully Resizable, With Mini App Launcher Icon!" just so that it is easier for people to find it.

When you go full screen Browser, its become a total full browser. Mini app is closed and then opened standard browser.
I think you don't go back.

First of all, thank you tuxafgmur for porting this to work on the tab. Is there anyway to resize the mini app tray icon for this to match the size of the rest of the icons in the tray?

My device is Tab2 10.1 and I can see same size as other icons in the tray.
I am missunderstanding you, perhaps.

Does this have to be put in /system/apps? I just downloaded the APK and installed it from the downloads folder and it says installed but is not in my miniapps list

Thank you for taking a look. I have the Tab 2 7.0 and in the Mini app tray the icon appears shorter and wider than the rest. I know it's a silly thing to notice.

Help customize my Lockscreen

Hey Guys,
can anyone help me to get rid of the clock on the lockscreen? I don't want a big ass clock there!!! just a regular clock on the statusbar would be good enough. I just wanna have the Lockscreen to my wallaper.
For any help/advice/tips on how to achieve this I would be very grateful. I hope I don't have to decomplie systemui or anything.... maybe thru the new themes function? I saw they can change the font color and so on... maybe setting it to 100% transparency?
with help of a xposed module called Costum Text I was able to get rid of the text at the bottom saying something like swipe to unlock! U know my s6 is set to german and in german the swipe to unlock text is like 2 full sentences!!! Who needs that? like WTF? as if someone after using his phone for 5 minutes hasn't already figured out how to unlock his phone!!! am i the only one who thinks that about the text @ the bottom?

Haha, luckily for you. I created a small app using tasker to disable the wallpaper and clock and enable it if like. but you need root.
Just unzip the file and install the apk within.
EDIT: Please explain more on how to use custom text to disable " swipe screen to unlock "?

So u just install costum text and choose the app u want to change the text for in this case it's systemui. There u will be presented with bubbles where u can put in the original text that u want to change. Fox example u put in Swipe screen to unlock it has to be 1:1 like Swipe not swipe. And then u just put a blank space in the new text field if u want it to disappear, otherwise u can also put anything u want. Ecall is by law suppose to be there so no. but i can remove the camera...

I've read before that phone is there by law, but I hoped it was not for the international.
Thanks for the "ex-camera" link anyway. It is a start and I'll give it a try first thing tommorow.

Wow so glad I opened this thread! So the only thing that's left is the Phone Icon but i think that can be solved by setting the transparency to 100% of that Icon which should be in systemui or the systemui theme apk... I will have a look at this in few days I need access to a windows machine and I hope samsung uses .png's and not this qmg shiz.... the shortcut will be still intact but at least not visible which is still good enough for me.

Hahaha, very good idea. I hope you succeed because i use themes on my phone. And previously lollipop v5.0.2 I was able to take out the qmg from the theme\lock-1\base.apk and convert to png, make it transparent and put back the png into the apk without decompiling. That work, camera and ecall was transparent. Now if i try it with the new themes on lollipop 5.1.1 the apk fails toe work and the default theme is loaded.
So yes, if you can change the systemui for lock screen then it would be superb..:good:
