IF I'M USING YOUR RESOURCES.ZIP, LET ME KNOW SO I CAN CREDIT YOU!
I didn't see anyone having done this before on a search, and I apologize if it's been done already. I put together all the audio resources I could find for ringtones, alarms, notifications, and ui, converted them all to very small .ogg's and put them in a new zip. It's a little over 9 megs and has a LOT of stuff. Enjoy.
Oh, and if you have more to add, post them. I'll convert them it and add it to the zip
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
1. Unzip
2. IF you are using a media2sd script, put the media folder on your ext partition. If not, use it to replace the one on your phone. I recommend using adb, or just mounting the thing in linux. It'll make it simpler.
3. REBOOT and give your phone some time to index all the ringtones. It'll take some time.
AudioResources.zip:
http://www.lighthousesolutions.info/AudioResources.zip
EDIT:
A LOT of people are downloading and nobody is posting additional links, which means (I hope) that I didn't miss any sound files. I'm glad I could help people out, and if anybody else has anything to contribute please POST! Thanks.
Also, I forgot to post this the first time. Themers and rom developers (hell anyone) feel free to use the converted .ogg's in whatever you want. They aren't mine to start with, but I figure I better make the statement clear.
Enjoy

Thanks! Can't have too many random ringtones to choose from I say. Already got the giant mega audio resource list from the other topic that includes all the various android phones, this will just help more.

I think this includes all of those, although if you find some that I'm missing, please post them. The main draw of this is that all of sound files are as tiny as possible, making it so you can fit them on internal memory if you want to, or just use less space. The entire thing is only 9.4 mb, and it includes the ringtones from the hero and magic.
Post any ringtones it doesn't contain so I can squish them down to tiny size too.
I can't find any media2sd scripts on the forum. Can any one point me in the right direction?

You don't have your rom in your sig, so my help will have to be very basic. I run cyanogen's experimental rom (not for the faint of heart) and huanyu's user customizable script. Other than that I can't offer much help. What I can say is that if you push the ENTIRE contents of this zip to your ext partition on your sd card and use huanyu's script with media2sd activated, you'll be fine.
Huanyu also has a version of his script for the stable series of cyanogens roms.
I have NO idea how to do media2sd on hero. I don't support hero as an os and will never use it unless the ENTIRE android community decides to go that route.
If you are using another rom let me know and I'll see what I can do.
I'm currently on Drizzy's newest hero build, but the guts are the same. I went back and did some research and that script is working thanks for the help.

No problem, and I'm glad they're working out for you. So far I've got over 100 downloads, so it seems people like this.
Anybody with any additional tones to be added? I'd really like to beef it up!
I'd love to give you some of miine but I don't have any that don't have a copyright next to it but if you want them anyway I'll upload them for you.
Thank you mate!

Are any of them for a released or soon to be released android phone? I could put together a "legal" and a "questionable" vesion, although the latter might have to be off the forum (hint hint). I'd like to keep the one on here being full of nothing but official android and htc ringtones for released and soon to be released (ie leaked) android devices.
Noob Question...
I'm running CyanogenMod-4.0.4 + Recovery 1.4 and the community hero rom and was wondering how I should go about implementing this audio resources zip. Do i apply the update from the recovery? Or is there some other way of getting them on?
You can push them to /system/media....but I'd recommend using hyanu's userinit.sh script instead. media2sd is FAR superior for the number of sound files were talking about here.
any chance of this being posted elsewhere? Was looking to download this, but the site doesn't seem to exist.
Can't use my host for any more hosting of FREE ringtones

Pm me the site ? and it is not about just getting the roms but it is about to get support for the roms as well. I don't think there is anyone else who is cooking roms for desire port and now it looks like it will not happen anymore
You can try and search www.modaco.com to see if there is a working desire port for the N1. If you are unable to find someone working on it then I guess the desire port you want will no longer have any type of support.

Yeah i will try that as well but still dont understand why the thread have been locked
It was locked due to him apparent theft of copying someone else's entire froyo build, while making a new build prop to claim that he had taken it from the ASOP build of Froyo. Therefore, his Md5sum hashes are the same as the ASOP source. But they can't be the same as MD5sum hashes are created with a new hash number. So this is the reason why his threads are locked due to a pending investigation by the mods of these forums.

Wrong there is no way the hash is the same if he changed the build.prop and repacked and resigned
once you change repack and resign something everything changes in the md5 so whomever said that is a newb and needs to stop being a greedy person
Once anything in any file is changed its md5 changes now if he used someone elses Gmail.apk it will be the same as any other Gmail.apk but the archive in which the update was changed like the build.prop it will be different its impossible for the md5 to be the same
that said.. unlock his threadds and stop being stupid whomever said that

I dont understand. Do you mean md5 sums of some particular apk's? Cause the hash will change if he changed build.prop even a little.. As the previous post said..
I'm not using his ROM but I want a "official" explanation.. too much gestapo stuff going on
The "official" version probably goes something like this:
King hasn't actually **built** aka **compiled** from source a full ROM....ever.
King takes others builds (Like kmobs or Chris's Froyo AOSP build) and changes a few things and says he made them all by himself.
King sometimes doesn't even bother to change stuff. He "compiled" a foryo AOSP build last night that matched the md5 hash of the teamdouche one. But, had he compiled it last night with the latest commits his md5 would have been much different. Ergo, he's a moron
go to the g1 thread. he downloaded jubehs rom, changed a few files and said it was his own. it has the same md5 values for all but 5-10 of the files which would be impossible if he compiled his own stuff like he claims
damn people have so much hatred towards him.I don`t know what he did or not but neither i am supporter of king and i believe if he is guilty then he should live with the consequences and i will never ever use his rom or donate since it is not his work.
We will find out once the investigation is completed and we all have our answers

1. What ever happened to Open Source?
2. Who are you? What have you developed?
3. If he recompiled an entire archive the MD5 will be extremely unique it was I am sure coinsidence that it was nearly the same its impossible after recompiling something that the MD5 would have just 5-10 characters different everything changes!
4. FIles within the archive (of course will have the same hash as other files!)
5. King has always been using other people stuff and he definantly lets the people know he uses them.
I could care less for one ****ing ROM I know he worked on his own when he released his latest build for Sense UI because no other person has been able to fix the **** that he has with the rom or posted another version of Sense UI other than modaco which he said he used something thanks to him!

Learn to read. It wasnt 5-10 characters, it was 5-10 files that had new MD5s. Everything else was the exact same.
4. FIles within the archive (of ****ign course will have the same hash as other files!)
No they wont, if you compress files, it will change the file and result in a new MD5 hash. He took jubehs rom, replaced the build.prop, a few other files and called it his own
5. your a ****ing idiot for being such a **** and unreasonable
6. King has always been using other people stuff and he definantly lets the people know he uses them.

Once again, Read up on the Apache license
With the Apache License, developers can choose what terms they would like to include with their release. Most developers here require proper credit be given for their work. With the Apache license, developers are not required to open-source their work. Why do you think HTC's Sense is so hard to work with?
The fact that KingKlick did not give proper credit to jubeh and even claimed jubehs ROM as his own is the reason that his threads got shut down.
*eating popcorn emoticon thingy*
I love this thread
I'm still have no chance to trying "his" rom, but whatever.
I feel sorry for him.
This king guy is highly unintelligent, and anyone making an argument that using other peoples work as your own under protection of "open source" is even worse. The grammar in this thread alone breaks my heart .

CyanogenMod 6.1
Download
Use ROM-Manager or the teamdouche mirror.
Description
The official release of CyanogenMod for the Legend.
You know the rules. But let me repeat them for your reading pleasure:
Read before you post. Read the whole thread.
Requests for builds, features, fixes or apps to include will be ignored.
Do not ask questions. This is the development board.
Add-Ons
For those who want 2.6.32.17 here's an experimental and unsupported update package:
cm-6.1.0-Legend-kernel-2.6.32.17.zip
Be warned as 2.6.32 is still unstable resulting in the device not suspending correctly when bluetooth is on.

Wow thanx

Thank you very much aliba
Which radio do you recommend for the stable release ?
here we go!
EDIT: I guess "latest" gapps still are 20101020, is that right?
EDIT2: damn it! teamdouche web is down and I couldn't download the ROM... if anyone has any mirror would be great
Cannot download out of this link....The download starts but after a couple of moments it cancelled and the file is incomplete.
Cool, keep up the great work ali ba!
*Scratch that*
Found it
Thx I'll try the 2.32 kernel asap
If only I would have visa ,...
Thank you (I hope you're keeping track of these )
Download doesn't work for me not via ROM manager, not via teamdouch mirror, it is like zip file is damaged.
tried with the new kernel without wiping and..... raging thunder 2 finally runs smooth!!! 3D performances seems way better!
thanks ali ba!
Downloading it through the ROM Manager is definitely not working. I'd prefer to use the ROM Manager for the gapps, but no such luck. Ali Ba's link worked fine, but again, I prefer downloading straight through the ROM Manager.
Took me some tries (well, 8 automatic retries from wget) downloading it from the teamdouche mirror, so I figured I might as well mirror it to help:
http://oysteivi.tihlde.org/update-cm-6.1.0-Legend-signed.zip
(I haven't actually flashed it yet, but the md5sum is correct, so it should be a good copy).
thanks oysteivi
I want to give the new kernel a try and I'm sure all you guy are going to beat me up. But how do I update to the new kernel? Can't find any documentation about it With RomManager like a CR?
I've also set up a mirror:
http://www.alice-dsl.net/simonemartitz/asdf/update-cm-6.1.0-Legend-signed.zip
Don't forget to check the md5sum before installing, it was correct on my machine.
Thanks for the update and mirroring guys!
Trackball wake doesn't work properly with the new kernel. (after 20sec or more it doesn't respond anymore)
I've did some research a while ago (when I was trying to mod it into stock foryo release) and it had something to do with the new kernel I believe. (It works fine when plugged in (USB/charge))
I came across this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=703539
But I have no linux knowledge and I'm still learing so edditing a kernel is still a bit too hard for me.
Hopefully this helps
1192+ (2.6.32.17 @768MHz) in Quadrant, nice!
Just wanted to let you guys no that you can now go into the downloads section of ROM manager and you'll see the Sonofskywalker3 section. Blackhole is not quite ready for release yet, so you won't see it there, but I have put up a large collection of live wallpapers, multitouch keyboards from camelot, boot/shutdown animations, and launchers that you can now flash easily straight from your phone. I haven't been able to test these since i don't have a vibrant, so i'm relying on you guys. Please post any problems you have wiht anything in ROM manager to the official error reporting thread at www.androiddoes.net/sonofskywalker3 or right here in this thread and i'll try to keep on top of it. thanks for all your support guys.
Awesome! Checking it out now.

Dude, can you please send me instructions on how to get this added to rom manager.... I have tried koush with no luck.
Awesome you were able to!
Will this need a ROM Manager update, or is it all ready to go? (I'd look myself, but I'm flashing back from CM at the moment..)
Edit: Oh wow, is this nice. s15274n- It's under the download rom section. I know it mentions something about the premium version, click that.
to answer both questions at once: www.github.com hosts all koush's code for rom manager manifests. If you open an issue there with the code you want added one of his team will add it. once it's added you show up in rom manager instantly, no upgrade needed, because when you click donload rom in any version of rom manager it parses the code at github.com in manifests.js and looks for any vibrant = true tags, and if it finds it, it displays the info. I personally forked the manifest, edited it, and used a pull request to get it committed to the main manifest. if you want help getting yourself in rom manager, look for me in #sonofskywalker3 on irc tomorrow evening and i'll be glad to chat with you and walk you through it.
I love you...whomever the fark you are!
(Awaiting the final...mac fag sadly).

If it's that easy, why aren't the ROMS in there? That would save so much time and heartache.

I'm afraid you have me confused with someone else. I have never released a ROM for galaxy tab, only one before this was the version for fascinate, and it's working great on my own phone as well as many others. Also I have never posted here asking how to make a ROM. I got started by reading tutorials online, getting help from other devs in IRC, and a lot of trial and error with my own phone before I ever released my first ROM. I don't mind criticizm, and welcome error reports, both are ways to improve the final product. However they are only helpful if they are true. If you can link me to the posts where I supposedly did these things I may better understand what you're talking about.
As far as the live wallpapers they are from the fascinate, I was hoping they would be installable without modification. Is anyone else having this issue with other roms? could you please get me a logcat during an fc so i can see what it's doing? also please try the digital rain wallpaper, it's from the market so we can use it as a kind of control group. thanks.
Sonofskywalker,
you will have to excuse the comments and tone of some in here. Recently this section has many unacceptable outbursts. I agree, issues must be raised in a constructive manner, rather than just being rude.
thanks for your work and I'll take a look.

Actually, the bootanimations are firmware independent, so they'll work fine, the keyboards have been tested on 2.1 on the fascinate and they worked, so give them a try, and the livewallpapers came from 2.1 on the fascinate, and don't work on at least 1 2.2 rom, so if you can try them out that'd be great. and all these updates do is add an apk file to your system partition, so there's no worry of bricking as long as you have a nandroid backup.
that being said, I need a few people to test the final alpha build before i release it as a public beta, just got it uploaded this morning. Please email me at [email protected] if you're interested, and i'll be glad to send you a link. please note you'll need to have a jk6 modem and kernel installed, but i'll be glad to send you links for those too.
Below is a format that is a guideline to be used as an example of how a rom thread should look. It doesn't have to be exact. I suggest that you stay creative and use all the features in the advanced panel when creating a thread.
Name of rom, team, etc
Introduction
Changelog in code or list tags
What's included in the rom in the (apps, tweaks, scripts, addons, mods) in code or list tags
What works/what doesn't work in code or php tags
Credits (Users name-with link to (profile/github/or thread u got tweak from embedded), and what they did to help you)
Screenshots (2-10 different screenshots of different aspects of rom)
Kernel with either link to thread you got it from or github (if stock sense or cm please state that and that is enough)
Instructions on how to install the rom (also if special instruction for a2sd or beats audio...etc)
Do's and Don'ts of the rom
Questions & Answers section (I find this helpful to write out asked questions with solutions at the bottom of the op. I find that it cuts down on the question being asked a million times)
Finally the dl link
Additional add-ons (this can go into first post or reserved posts after)
I find the embedded link looks and feels better throughout the op if possible.
All sections should have a header with enlarged text and spaced out so people can read it easily.
I am hoping that this helps to make this section a little cleaner and easier. enjoy
The way I look at this is that it takes you weeks/days/hours to make these roms....we can take the time out to make sure that the op looks professional and clean
Not to toot my own horn but here is a link to one of my own rom threads as an example. Link
Also Make sure the op is fully ready before posting. I know we all get excited to release a rom but stating that half the stuff will be updated as time permits just shows that you are lazy and in a hurry which doesn't look good cause if thats the case then how does your rom run....
No posting a a rom thread without a DL link either. If posted then the thread will be removed
Thread title format
Just to add to Papa Smurf151's post, when posting something, please use this format for the title:
[What it is][last updated][Version+stable/test/beta/wip/etc]Name of rom/kernel/etc
For example:
[ROM] [15nov12] [4.3.1BETA] TheBestestKangedROMEver
