I'm amazed of pace of ICS development for Hero.
Too bad our Pulse device (msm7200a) failed to hold ICS properly due to minimal RAM on it.
Your development helped me to fix trackball, being as a mouse pointer before.
Good luck.

What gapps did you install? I just flashed the last cyanogen nightly with the latest gapps and it updated to the latest market when I signed in.
Man, I miss being over here. So glad I rooted my brothers Hero. Now I need to figure out why I can't install any of the RUUs and Radios for his device. >_<

""Shooter on Deck""
It just won't let me RUU it. Keeps giving me a USB error. And it won't let me install none of the sense Roms, or Radios. So, instead of messing with the updates, it at least allowed me to install the last cyanogen nightly.
Can you believe the sprint store kept him on Cupcake? They must have really wanted him to upgrade to a new phone. He took it in last week and that's what they recommended. He fell back in love with the phone when I updated it.

My setup is clockwork 2.5, and Rom is the last cyan nightly; which is 252. Cpu is 710, jit, non firat, regular setup, ex explorer, with every eye candy feature disabled.
What I was trying to do is setup two roms. One being sense and one not. Was going to use sense to change the prl and update the latest radios, then switch over to the nightly, but it just wouldn't work out that way.
Funny about the nand. I did do one, but gave me a md5 error when I tried to put it back. I've never came across such a troublesome Hero before. But, you know how that goes, there's always that "one" that wants to be unique.
But at least I got him running on the nightly. So he's really excited about his Hero again. Now people are not receiving his text hours later like before. His girlfriend is happy.

Well, an example of something I recently tried to do and failed is adding native DarkTremor apps2sd support. Although, I did kinda have a reason why I gave up.. anyways yeah some form of apps2sd (other than the crappy form that comes with froyo) is requested a lot I've noticed. I still don't fully get why.. I mean how many apps are these people wanting on their phone that it causes it to slow down
Will attempt to add this tomorrow before i post a link then. plus the fact it still won't let me.

See above or the 31DEC release of it that was done by CM. I think it was the last 6.2 entry of the Froyo releases. Although, rumor has it that they picked up on the Froyo nightlys again. Might want to check that out too.

Hi all. I'm wanting to do a custom rom/kernel on my girlfried's G1. What I want is something that she won't have to worry about with regards to stability. He also complains that her G1 is too slow. Sadly she's gotta wait until late summer to get a new phone. Overclocking options within the kernel would be nice, as I presume this would help with the speed of the phone.
So, what's the best that's out now? I did a bit of searching around but didn't find anything definitive. I flashed CM6 on there once before and it was a pain, so i'd rather be able to pick a rom and stick with it ;-).
Thanks in advance.

So, if I've already flashed CM4 and got it set up and running how would I go about flashing Super D if I decide to? I should of course do the necessary data/cache wipes but as far as flashing the rom, do I wipe, flash the defangled base, and then flash the Super D rom? If so I may do it as CM4 doesn't seem to be as quick as I had hoped... then again it's difficult to judge going from my Epic to my girlfriend's G1. I'll hve to ask her what she thinks.
Also, what kernel did you run with Super D? I'm still on the stock kernel with CM4 and if I flash another kernel, should I just wipe cache and install the kernel over whatever is on there now? I want to make sure it's essentially the same as flashing on my Epic befre I mess something up and have to do the entire process over again.
Thanks for all the help once again.

If the browser doesn't work download Opera or Dolphin. Will work just fine. We optimized that rom to run pretty damn good in these old heros. Just don't fill up the home screens and tons of apps or it will bog down.

Oh ok sorry.
The Sensible Gingerbread says to flash FR-recovery. What is that? I currently have ROM Manager and the Clockwork Recovery. Whenever I try to flash Sensible Gingerbread with that, it reboots into recovery every time I try to reboot it.
firates is just a tool that partitions your sd card for better memory management theres a thread in development on how to set it up.

Is there something different that I need to do for Sensible Gingerbread than I do for most roms?
The original thread says
How to install(might be a waste of time)
wipe ALL, flash FR-recovery, wipe ALL, reboot recovery, flash ROM, reboot. It is also recommended that you have an s-off bootloader, since FR is a recovery modification. It installed fine for the testers, so YMMV. But be warned, bricks are your fault, not someone elses Also, the CPU frequencies are now 245xxx (needs to be fixed, keep reading) - 729xxx (careful, some phones can only handle 691xxx). You need an overclock method (setCPU, overclock widget) to change the frequencies to 264xxx - 691xxx.

Update to Build 4.08.605.19 Published on February 1st, 2013 Written by: Kellex DroidLife.com
The original DROID Incredible by HTC, a device released almost three years ago, is set to receive its next OTA update. The update is minor to build 4.08.605.19, and simply includes a fix to reduce reboots, but man, how random is that?
We didn’t think anything could top the randomness of the Thunderbolt Ice Cream Sandwich update that popped up yesterday through Big Red’s support site, however, it’s safe to say that this just topped it.
The update is 4.2MB in size.

Well considering the extreme annoyance caused by the 2am reboot thing that was introduced with the last OTA, this update was long overdue. Hey, an update to ICS would be truly awesome but it would be a bit bigger than 4.2Mb I dare say (and would involve a whole lot more time and money to develop, something that would be very majorly hugely unlikely for a three year old device like this).

Verizons excuse is they didn't want to have to repartition the internal storage which would be required to fit ICS and all their bloat.

Cm 10.1 doesn't even fit well on the inc without some tweaking. There's no way a sense ICS will fit on 250mb when AOSP is smaller than sense. Do you remember how the sense build that I worked on with puremotive needed symlinks to fit and that's the lighter version of sense?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Coincidentally, I was thinking of sending my old Incredible back to stock in order to attempt maximizing its stability, because I'm giving it to my kid as a games platform for travel, etc.
The phone is no longer registered on Verizon's network, so I'm guessing that means I would not get access to an OTA update if I placed the 4.08.605.15 RUU on this phone - correct?

Yes the update is now active. I saved it if anyone wants to root it and or check it out. I have not installed it.
I have the stock ROM.. I got prompted to update an hour ago.. it went through fine. I was hoping it would fix the proximity sensor bug which drains the battery (dialer process in battery view). Haven't checked whether it was fixed yet, but I doubt it.
FYI, I'm using the phone through Page Plus.. which relies on Verizon's network. I never expected to see an update for this phone..

The OTA was pushed to my phone while using the Sparkplug rom. I saved it but I have not installed it yet in fear of losing root. I have 3 Incredibles and they all belong to my kids. I'm going to attempt to root it and install it to see how it runs.
