Anyone know if the Amaze camera app is available for the vivid outside of the custom roms? My vivid is my work phone and I don't have a solid backup right now, so all I've done is use the RUU to update to stock ICS for the time being.
No not until an ics build comes out for the amaze i dont think
Thanks WC for the quick reply!
WC's right, I found an apk somewhere, don't remember where, but yeah...it didn't work.
It would load up, but force close pretty much instantly, or after trying to do something.
Can we get the stock ICS camera?
there is no ics build for the amaze ive answered this...no ics build no amaze camera on ics....

Sorry, I meant to ask if the camera app that the galaxy nexus has is available for us to install, not the amaze one. I saw on the market someone made one very similar, but I'm curious if we could get the same apk or if that one is Samsung specific only.
Easiest way to get your answer would be to download a nexus from extract it and find out..

Since the Samsung Vibrant browser has the ability to use plug-ins(like flash lite) would it be possible to Flash 10.1 in place of the flash lite plugin? Developers were able to do this with htc 2.1 phones(and fairly simply too), so it should be able to work on the Galaxy S devices, or any phone that accepts plugins really.
Any thoughts?

I was able to install the Flash 10.1 on my Vibrant and it works pretty good.
Haven't have any problems in loading any flash games or websites.
How were you able to do that? Is there a thread on this elsewhere, or is it something really simple? Please share lol.
+1 on the sharing how you did that. Adobe says its only available on the nx1 running 2.2.
^^^ I had the Adobe Flash APK for 2.1 since I had my HTC Evo.
You can find it here on the HTC Evo Forums or just send me a PM with your email and I'll send it to you.
I installed it on my Galaxy S since I got it.
I'm a noob here so I don't know how to post it here.
Here are a couple of pictures.

I installed that flash for 2.1 from that other thread you posted the link too. It's not working for me, is there something else I need to do to configure it?

Any real dev wanna give us an answer? i know for a fact that the flash apk that they provided wont work. it only works on HTC devices. A dev needs to modify the apk so it acts as a plugin and installs in the right place.

The pictures I've seen posted here, could have been working using flash lite that's already installed... I can install it and have it show up in my apps list as installed, and still display things using flash light, but if you go to m.flash.com it will tell you that it's not working. I could be wrong, but I'm guessing that the people that think this is working, it's not really. They are seeing stuff using flash lite.
Got bored, decided to make a random post. Seeing the version of HTC Sense on the phone is poisoned with Facebook, how long would it be before an Facebook Sense (FaceSense? SenseBook? It's gotta have a sexy name) ROM starts popping up for other devices? I wouldn't mind trying it out..
Well, its just Sense 2.1 customized for facebook, but we need either a rom dump or a leak or ruu before a port can be put into action...So, unless you have one, not happening any time s00n... -_-
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA Premium App
It will be nice to see the dump... At Wildfire developers are struggling to get Sense 2.1 work with Gingerbread. This pohne seems to have similar spec as Wildfire it might be lot easier for them to port.
Hi, any dump or RUU file available to download for Salsa?

I've tried to do it..problem is I can't seem to get apktool to work with sense 3.6...can't even install the HTC dependencies...in other words I can't decompile or recompile the framework-res.apk...if someone knows how to do that please help me...then I can see about maybe getting CRT animation (its an easy mod to do...as long as you can decompile and recompile apks...)
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
I've tried doing the apk decompile of the framework-res and the bool value the guides out there tell you to change is already set to false, as the guide states, therefore, it won't do anything if you recompile it and stick it back in.
I haven't been able to fix this yet... The user Bananacakes has this feature as a TODO for Holics ROM, so perhaps he will come up with a method that will work on other ROMS as well.
I too would really like to see this feature.
Has anyone asked bananacakes if he has had any luck on his progress, maybe he forgot about it and he can add it to his next holics update if he knows people are still intrested in it?

De-Sensed v1.5 rom be wajee finally got crt off animation
Thanks to some pointers from Wajee, I'm going to try to add the CRT effect to Holics. If that works, I will likely be able to produce a flashable for any att based Rom.
I'll be taking a crack at it tomorrow.

Good luck...alltjough I think HTC removed it from sense completely.....wahjee is using aosp frameworks which still has it
Could be 100% wrong, I have no idea what wajee said or what frameworks wajee is actually using...good luck tho

That could very well be true, but Wajee seem to think it should work. I guess I'll fing out one way or the other.

That's what I figured...the reason it doesn't work with sense based ROMs is because HTC completely removed it...de sensed ROMs use an aosp based framework I believe...which does support crt animations

Hello all here is the issue. My girlfriend has the HtC vivid and I have rooted it and obtained s-off with the wire trick. After I was done with this I attempted to find a good ROM for flashing there are very few. I decided on Virtuous Inquisition after installing VI I was fairly happy with the outcome no sense is the goal here. After the flash I noticed the signal bars not working like descired in almost all the non-sense HtC vivid ROMs. This seemed like no problem because the phone still technically had service right?
-well after using it for a few days my girlfriend disconvered that her text messages would fail to send sometimes actually sending them sometimes not. It would take serveral attempts to send the message and once it finally sent the recipent would sometime recieve for than one messages even though the vivid says it only sent 1. The same thing occured with phone calls she would have to try to call someone four or five times before it would go through. It also works the other way and sometime she will not get messages or calls for long periods of time.
This all occurs in VI and in [TEAM CODEFIRE][ICS]De-Sensed Rom by Wajee 1.6. I have tried using the stock kernel and the provided kernel with both of these as well. I have also used several different APNs and they all do the same thing.
I just flashed the stock kernel and ROM back on to the device and I am seeing if she has any problems. Could the wire trick have damaged the phone? I have not heard of anyone else having this problem.
What else can I try
Both of the desensed ROMs have plenty of issues. Wajeeh's is probably the better bet if you wanna stick with no sense. Otherwise Google wcx illuminati and go with that. It's the best ROM for the vivid by a LONG shot.

I always flash the faux007 kernel because i get better battery life with it. you can always try different ones to see how they run
Well I think I found my problem. I unlocked the boot loader on the phone the first time I flashed a ROM but re locked it. I just noticed it was lock so I unlocked it and installed wajee 1.6 and so far so good.

This is for 4.2.2 based ROMs, do not flash it on 4.1.2 or it might not work. Also don't forget to do a Nandroid Backup beforehand.
On the second or third page, he put a link for a 4.1.2 version.
