I try a lot of roms and for now ICS Final by Jusada is the best rom.
Check my signature for other tweaks
I use this setup now like 4-5 months and no crash, no speed drain, battery 2 days, etc

I live in Pakistan. So there are no regional issues in installing your said rom?

CM 7.2 for ace and when maclaw releases a stable build of CM 9, that will be the best ( ICS )

I was using CM7.2 by FrozenAceTeam and I was very happy with it. You can of course try some modifications of CM7 but i recommend clean Cyan ;]

Which CM 7 ROM has better battery life, no speed drain???
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App

When I tested, vo-1 seemed more stable than FAT. vo-1 is also updated more often and seems better built (none of this constant framework battery fix issues FAT constantly have, vo-1 uses a recent CM source which doesn't need it).
Actually for a novice, I'd probably go for The End which is based on vo-1 with updates and tweaks rolled in. That ROM is very well maintained by Kevin, he's always working hard to listen to his users.

[Q] Recommend me a ROM please

Hi there.
I'm new here and new to the Android platform aswell. I recently bought a Galaxy Mini GT-5570B. I run Gingerbread 2.3.4 on a stock rom (JJKQ5). I just rooted it using this guide: (THANKS!!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1576202
Now, I'm looking to apply a ROM. I want the most stable one, which has only the very basic stuff. I want my phone to run as fast as possible with at least bugs or crashes. After reading a bit, I found out (correct me if I'm wrong) that CM7 is the best one to suit me.
However, I still don't know which to apply!
I found 3 topics that I think are the best, but I still don't know which of them is stable or the fastest.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1572092

Please, help me pick one or suggest another one you find working good.
Also, a very simple guide to apply it would be cool
As far as I understand, all I need to do is install ClockworkMod and just boot into it and install from SD, just like I applied my root. Is this correct?
Sorry for these nab questions, I know you probably heard it a few times (Tried searching for a similar topic, couldn't find anything that satisfies me).
Thanks for any help!

Hi. Yeah the people who are longer active here have heard these question a lot. But everybody here was a beginner so thats no problem.
You did some search yourself so you have already read the most.
All you have to do is flash cwm via odin. There is an older one 4.0.0.5 or a newer 5.x.x.x. I recommend you the older one.
After that you can use cwm and install custom roms. There are plenty you can choose of. As I used a mini my favorite was the cyanogenmod from mebitek. Try the last version or the one before.
Good luck.

Try the official one & nightly builds.
Very content about Chocobread. Stable, fast, compatible with adrenaline boost, builtin app2sd and the owner will release a completely new update to it in a few weeks probably.
Thanks for all the comments, I installed official CyanogenMod 7.2RC1 and I'm very happy with it!

Yes, that's my pick also, there are two builds from pure CM based on Mebitek's (The galaxymini and the nightly (I guess weekly now ;-) )
I installed the latest weekly on top of the Galaxymini (that hasn't been updated since march 18) using the deodexed version without wiping data and it's working great. You may try the odexed version for space and maybe bit more speed but believe me, this is the smoothest ROM I've tried (Used squadzone's, chocobread, emanon, more, etc.) but this one hasn't crashed a single time. I use Overclock to 729 + slaidyboost and WOW, great ROM. Battery is not that bad as it can last as much as stock (maybe even a bit more).

[Q] What ROM for ICS / i9000?

Hi,
which ROM can you recommend? I'm on DarkyRom 10.4.2 and want to change to ICS.
Is there any ROM contains tun.ko module for using openvpn or anyconnect? I can't find any information about this.
Hey,
There are so many ICS roms you can try from, we've really got great developers for our device.
My current favorite is ICS333:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1618757
It's really stable and everything works!! There's even a guide to install it on the general section.. Here it is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1637966
tun modules are supported by the kernel. ICS333 comes with semaphore kernel by default, which supports tun modules.. You could check and ask more on the ics semaphore thread in the development section..
For me there are only a few good ICS Roms.
The best ist Dark Knight 3.
But if you want a really stable and fast System, don`t take an ICS Rom. Take a jvt, jvr or jvz custom rom. My favorite is Tornado.
Thanks for you answer.
I've looked at many ROMS but the decision is difficult. My favorite after reading the different thread is SLIM ICS. But I'll now have a look at ICS333.
Should I use nandroid to make a backup before trying any ROM?

Yeah, making a nandroid backup would be a good idea. Although don't restore your GB Titanium backup on ICS, it will create issues.

What are your reasons to go back? Was it not stable enough, or battery drain?
For now the CM9 nighltlies are working fine for me no issue.the battery is also fine runs for around 12-15 hours moderate to high use with semaphore kernel 1.1.1s.i tried a DOCMaster's rom also it also great...SLIM ICS is also good but if you are new to flashing you will have some difficulties in it since the dpi is 182 in it and some market apps wont be compatible.Onecosmic was great but since there is no new development i wont recommend it.For now CM9 with Semaphore kernel.Waiting for Gamerzrom with ICS

Exactly what i tought about ICS, until i gave TWICS a try.
I'm on TWICS 2.5, its fast, Battery fine (like Stock JVT) , no FCs., no Lags (after switching from TW4 to Apex launcher).
I use my phone mostly for calls,SMS and a little Tapatalk, no Facebook.
Don't get Faceunlock working, maybe a Face problem *g*, i don't care.
Thats my experience, other user reports some problems with Battery life, check the TWICS-Thread.

Hi!
With ALL ICS Roms on all devices i got a worse Benchscore on QS, Antutu, CF Bench and Vellamo. The "feeling" is even slower too. ALL Roms are buggy. Nice to see what is ICS and nice for flashaholics like me, but nothing for stable daily use. DK 3 is ok- no battery drain- but bugs too. The DK 4 and 5 is poor and DK 5.5 ok but slower than 3 and GB.

You seriously have no idea what you're talking about.
ICS is perfectly suitable for daily use on your phone. Not only is it smoother than GB, it looks better. And there aren't really any bugs. None that you'll see with normal use. It's perfectly stable.
Pick a ROM, any ROM. SlimICS is great; Dark Knight seems popular; CM9 and AOKP work wonders. Take your pick and never look back to the past that was Gingerbread.
I think CM9 is the best. I definitely recommend ICS as it has hardware acceleration and is sooo fast!
There's nothing like ICS isn't stable.. There are loads of roms to choose from.. I'm on ICS 333 for a week now and i haven't faced any bugs, lag or fc..
Everyone has their own views.. I think the best option is to try it out on your own n make your choice.. If you like ICS, great! If not, you can always switch back using a nandroid backup..
Enjoy!!

Doesn't matter, just flash Semaphore. It does. And it's one of the top ICS kernels.
The original release of Samsung Galaxy S [GT-I9000] has come a long way and still powerful enough to accommodate the latest Android release - Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.x.
Read my article here:

Sorry, but not my view to ICS.
Since today I got the official german ICS for Galaxy Note and now i know, WHY there is no really good ICS Custom Rom for any device!
ICS is the future? LOL
Only on 5 percent of android devices, months later as planned and in a few month jellybean release.
I suggest Elite GTi9000_IMM76K_RC_1.2

Most stable ICS rom?

Hello
I am trying to flash an stable ICS rom for my brothers phone but I really can't find anyone without major bugs. CM9 = to much bugs, Nyx RC 5.0 is just pure ****, Slim ICS (what the **** is wrong with the font?) So can someone recommend me a nice and clean ICS rom that is stable enough for daily use?
I just installed CM9 today and it works pretty good despite the camera and the radio (and now there are alternatives to avoid those bugs too).

CM9 is sluggish as hell so I wouldn't recommend that either. However I don't really understand your font issue with Slim ICS. It does only have 5 system languages but you can install additional fonts to display languages via the "Updater" app included.
In your case as you've eliminated Slim ICS, I guess ICS333 (Team 3xtr3m3) is probably the best one out there. AOSP based with toggles from AOKP and offers a good balance between performance and battery life, with no bugs I can really tell.
Team-Nyx (RC5) yet the most stable rom for me on ics and its pure AOSP

Actually I find cm9 to be the fastest. I've gotten the highest benchmarks compared to slim ics, aokp, etc. Plus I have a bit more trust on cyanogenmod than aokp. Team nyx is pure ics stock but its really slow. Cm9 all the way for me always.

Hi !
Unfortunately, though ICS is extremely good the Custom ICS has it's quirks !
This is because they are developed without source codes from Samsung and no matter how good they are, at a certain point they show their lack of support which they never received from the manufacturer in the first place and therefore after a few days ( or if lucky, weeks) things don't work properly and needs reboots frequently.
Having ICS is like having a short love affair.
Use Gingerbread or change phones.
Sad fact, but true.
Look at the custom ICS camera and look at the original ICS camera. Do you think that we are going to get all the goodies in the SGS ?
Similarly, there are many great features of ICS which the developers cannot give us.
Time to move on.
Take care.

Now I am on RC5 from Team Nyx. It's stable. The only thing that doesn't work is YouTube. Flashing another kernel from Devil (2_0.94) will help.

Hi.
Can you please stop posting these opinions as facts, when the "problems" can easily be fixed. This is a development forum, at least it used to be, and you cannot expect everything to work right out of the box like official stock firmware (even though it does most of the time). It's not like you've been scammed by a car salesman selling you a car without an engine.
No offense intended, but please stop it.

Everybody has his own taste, some people like AOSP, some people like AOKP, some people like CM9 while some people like slim ROM regardless with few bugs ... also there are people here in this forum (like you) who install ROMs incorrectly n find it **** (yes i am pointing to Team Nyx's ROM). [Q] what rom for day to day use?

Hi, I'm quite new here and I'm overwhelmed by the quantity of roms in the developers section. Though I'd like to, I don't have time to try them all out... The only rom I tried and the one I'm currently using is a nightly build of some weeks ago of official CM7, I like it but there are some minor annoyances/bugs, so I'm waiting for first stable release to come out... but I'd like to know, what roms are you currently using that are most stable and appropriate for day to day use?
For example, is the CM9 unofficial faster/more stable than the one I'm using?
I'm also wandering, why not set up a monthly poll where you can vote which rom you're using? This way one could at least see the most popular roms and if he doesn't have a lot of time like me try out only those... Or something similar allready exists and I missed it?
Stock ROM. Install CF root kernel and use smartassv2 governor. It's stable and fast.

Or

thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
as I thought, everyone has their own favorite, so I guess I'll have to choose 3 or 4 of the most popular ones and try out at least those...
what about the poll idea?
i use joyos with my modification...when i play game full can make battery dead in 6 hour..and if only listen music, social media like twitter can 2 hour (1 day = 6 hour i sleep so can 2 hour)
AFAIK
ROM's that you can consider for daily use is :
CM.7 by vo-1
LeWa
dont use any modified CM.7(LeWa is other thing) or stock based
modified CM.7 = confuse
Stock Based = lame
CM.7 official is lack some feature....well....its minor...but annoying

Well,it really does depend on your need.
For Eye-candy: CM9 if you don't care about camera preview and bugs
For perfomance: Any CM7/CM7 based rom
For stability and battery life: Stock rom
My preference: Stock based roms
Lewa : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506952
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360889
used both for more than a month, Lewa i think is a bit better!
The myth Or Apocalypse . Personally , i prefer apocalypse . Both roms are great though
So, I tried Lewa, and it seems nice, but not really my thing... Stocklite is amazingly responsive! That definitely seems good for everyday use, though I like some things of CM7 better (the app drawer and more customization in general). Will have to try out apocalypse.
BTW should I try a CM9 or ICS based rom, are there problems then going back to a CM7 or stock based one? I'm using Titanium Backup to restore apps
I would recomend apocalypse rom, very fast andy stable.
Good battery life due firekernel, and gets always updated by his dev., so it has very good support also.

I've tried others but I've always returned to this rom. I love it. Tried CM9 but its too buggy still. Camera, GPS, battery issues keep it from being a daily driver. Well at least for the time being.

Im using stocklite v7.1 with libiSC battery extender kernel, check by yourself..
It is pretty stable and fast, with stock rom (GB) interface, and with a little bit of more internal space.

[Q] Which is the most stable Custom ROM?

Hi Guys! I am a bit lost here due to the number of ROMS available for this device.
My mom owns this phone, and she would love to get an update for her phone. She currently runs stock, and I was wondering which custom ROM do you think would be most stable.
It doesn't have to be the best. The most important part is the stability of the ROM. My mom is nowhere near techy. She even gets lost in Facebook. So I don't want to complicate things for her during her use. She needs a custom rom with memory managment but stable. ICS would be great and all, but she can stay in Gingerbread if that is the only stable ROM available.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this! Have a great day ahead!
Well if your mom is not all that techie then don't make a leap to a custom rom, the only 100% fully stable rom is the stock one right now. If you want, root the phone for her. If she wants an ICS look install Holo Launcher and get some ICS wallpapers, that is the best you can get to making the phone ICS-like.
But as for your question, the most stable are these:
1. Stocklite v7.1 (Closest thing to stock, but better because it gets rid of the Samsung bloatware.)

2. Apocalypse ROM (CM 7.2 based for best perfromance i.e. faster gps locks, better memory optimization etc, but you will take a battery hit, not a lot but battery drain will be higher here)

I've used both of these roms for months on end and they never game me any problems, so you are safe with anyone you choose.
Happy Flashing.
I came across the Apocalypse ROM in my search. It looked promising. Nice to know a confirmation from a user. Thank you very much!
Hopefully I won't have to keep maintaining the phone for her. I am used to having my data backed up and wiped, then restored, but she doesn't like the whole flashing cycle.
Thanks again! I will proceed with the installation tonight.

Most Stable ICS Rom
Hi Pals, which would be the most stable ICS Rom out here.
Please help me, i am new to this forum.
Myth 2 for me hands down + INT2EXT+ = best thing to happen to your Ace.
Thanks for the suggestions guys! I went ahead with apocalypse for now, but when the ICS or JB builds get more stable, I might offer her another update. For now she is really happy with it.
i think for stable custom rom, you can choose :
- apocalypse
- droidace V2
- Miracle V4
but if you want something different, you can choose new MIUIXXX rom, im still using it n i love it..

I agree with him, use the MIUI GB ROM MIUIXXX. It is really smooth and stable + it has free themes like Vapor Ice online.

Really? I haven't tried any MIUI build before. As far as I know, they were built to imitate the iOS with now app dock, right?
Hello, I recommend an old and good CM7.2fat and CM7.2 democracy, now I'm on android 4.0.4 CM9 from maclaw and also I'm happy.
CM7.2 fat is rather most stable of these have given.
Hey try adrenaline final, its the simple and best ROM you can find, give a try. You would like it.
