You don't need screenprotector for this phone, bcuz i think it has gorilla glass. I've been using this phone for 8 months now, but still no scratches.

PHONE: LG Optimus Black P970
ROM: Zeus v3.2N
KERNEL: Diana v0
ClockworkMod.
I bought and a couple of times they have saved my screen , I bought them on ebay on Italian sites, you must be careful to have this form, look at pictures in the link ,there are different types ,with few cutters are better.
I have to agree that there very few situations where screen protector will help at all.
Only if you actually grinding the screen on sand or metal edges there will be use.
In reality a silicon or TPE bumper will give you much better protection.
I mean the gorilla glass really WORKS on this phone, being so lightweight there is hardly any pressure when you put out down. Off out falls from high enough nothing will save it.
I only have couple of little scratches and they are self inflicted (cutter knife ) to see the actual force that starts to make visible damage.
P.s. And not to sound out of idea i actually had couple of protectors. One was utter rubbish and peeled within a week. The other was good, stuck alright and was hard (ish) enough but there was some obvious loss of sensitivity of the screen - more often undetected button touch, wrong button etc.
So ended taking it of.
I prefer some (possible) scratches but responsive screen and less reflection and natural colours.
I've been using on my phone a Clear screen protector for a month,
But the problem is that the screen protector isn't smooth and it's hard to slip the finger on this screen protector.
Therefore, I've purchased a matte screen protector, once I'll receive it, I will write a review about it, but I've already seen it, and it's so smooth.
I used to have a nice 20+€ screen protector on the phone for about two or three months, then it lost the touch after it gained a few scratches so I took it off and was going to buy a new one.. that was more than 3 months ago and still haven't needed a protector for my screen, over 3 months "unprotected" no bag no silicon, nothing and still 0 scratches. one doesn't really need a protector with this screen.
I had my phone since 1 month, it got some hardly noticeable scratches :S
It sucks... I have to get a screen protector now..
Got a screen protector with a silicon case from ebay for a few euros and the protector is already on it for 6 months and seems to be glued onto it (so excellent one) and the silicon case saved my phone a few times already from being seriously scratched or broken. Worth the few euros for sure, especially if you want to sell it one day (now it is still as new)!!!
I use screen protector. I bought 5 for a bunch of euros. Even with Gorila Glass it's never to much protection
I think we don't need any screen protector.. gorilla glass is too good on our black.. you can see many videos in youtube about gorilla glass durability
Been using 3$ anti-glare for all this time
So far so good

Anyone have tried the invisible shield full protection ?
I....use invisible shield.....from ZAGG.The screen protector is not so good. Its litle "sticky"wnen toy touch him.The all telephone is like "fake"on toch. But protetion is realy amazing..
after i read this thread, took out my screen protector form OB. Now my device looks as good as new. Forgotten how beautiful the screen is without screen protector on it.
Personally I like a anti fingerprint screen protector on my OB... I know gorilla glass is very nice and strong. but I hate it to be super smooth resulting in super sensitive touch. With a screen protector it is not so smooth and I can do some pin point accuracy on the touch screen.
i recomented this...:

No matter what CPU and other specs your phone have you will always look at the screen and I want the best of it. For that reason I'll rather take the risk of taking extra care of the naked screen than even a 5% compromise of screen clarity due to the screen protector. What's the point of the IPS technology if the cover will reduce it to normal LCD or Pentile quality.

Does anyone use the X1 without screen protector? Does the screen scratch easily from normal use?
I had mine for more then a year and don't use screen protector don't have any problems
guess it depend on if one keep it in a pocket with keys or a lit cigar
I gave up on a screen protector ages ago, main thing is to never put keys in the same pocket, another trick is to make sure the screen is always facing towards your body when in a pocket, so if you lean against something the screen does not crack. There are a couple of tiny scratches on my screen, but don't affect performance, would only be a problem at resale time, but i tend to hand mine on rather than sell them.
If those digitizers (4$ from DealExtreme) works as expected, you won't need to use a protector for 2$
My screen protector basically looked like crap (peeling & mad scratches) after almost a year so I took it off. I ordered a few screen protectors and they will be arriving shortly. So for the time being I'm not using any protector and the screen looks awesome and doesn't scratch easily at all. It's been a week and no scratches yet (knock on wood). I generally follow the same rules as post #3 and am very mindful in what pocket I put my phone in. I kind of feel naked w/o a screen protector though, so I definitely need one just for the hell of it.
I prefer to have a screen protector for any phone (or any portable device) with a touchscreen. In any case, I am careful what I keep on my pocket.
Currently I'm using the Brando Screenprotector Ultra Clear which cost me €18 euro After about roughly 5 months of use it only contains a few VERY MINOR scratches which are hardly visible at all. No pealing issues either so I'm happy, lol.
i played around with screen protectors for a while and finally found one i liked. i tried a bunch of cheapo ones, they would scratch easily, and impaired the touchscreen's responsiveness. i finally shelled out $6 a piece for a super high quality one, precut for the X1, and it's amazing. you can't tell it's on, and the phone acts as if it was never there. you can literally rub knives on it and it will never even show a hint of a scratch.
up until i found this high quality one, i settled for using the phone without a screen protector. i figured a new LCD was $100, and with those $4 digitizers, who cares right? well, the high quality screen protector i use now resists fingerprints and dirt like i've never seen. after a day of using the phone naked, it looks like a 5 year old rubbed his morning grease pile of eggs and bacon all over it. now, i can use my screen for weeks and it still looks cleaner than anything i've ever seen.
I hate screen protectors xD My screen is without any scratches...for sure with the a screen protector its saver, but they always look: Uaaagghhh...hate them^^
Some little scratches look better then a screen protector. But my x1 looks very good
If you want to sell your phone after a year and you want to get as much as possible, then use a screen protector

I use an foil from Vestas. Its about 1mm thick and self glueing. I did cut it by myself. 2 weeks ago i had to send in my phone, so i removed the foil and no scratches at all.But the Cover of the phone did look like an Battlefield. ( the Phone did fall aprox. 40 times to the ground, also an hardone with little sharp stones directly on the display). Also no problems using the touchscreen.
recomendation: handle the phone with care, and the advices given in posts above.
I for my part know i am not very careful with mobile devices, so i carry it alltime in an belt bag with bt headphone, so i dont need to put it out all the time.
i use a screen protector called "durasec" from a company called hightec. had one on my X1 for nearly a year and still not a mark on it. its some kind of self healing pvc or something. its also the perfect thickness to bring the x1 screen flush to the body of the phone. cost me about £9. theyre of extremely high quality, very precisely cut. i got mine from ebay but they also have their own website.theyre a german company and provide screen protectors for almost anything and ship worldwide. highly recommended.

i bought some screen protectors from chinese ebay some time ago. until than i used X1 for abouth half a year and it was withouth scratches on the screen. then i put this screen protector on my phone in a couple of hours it was all scrached because of the stylus it was all marked with lines and gestures. this ****ty screan protector was demaged more in a coulpe of hours then X1 screen was in half a year... then i got the well known issue with th phone when sliding out the screen it faded black. i send the phone back to the shop to repair this dreadfull issue now im gettin a new X1 for free. Are screen protectors somehow related to this issue? This post makes it sound like there is a connection. If so, I'm not going to bother with a screen protector.
I use an invisible shield screen protector, been on a year now and looks perfect. I used a cheap screen protector first and that lasted about two weeks before being covered in scratches.
I put Zagg on mine not just the screen but th back too zagg shields are scratch proof and it will give you better grip too.
I used a screen protector for months. Didn't get scratched up, but it was annoying for a few reasons:
There was a sub-millimeter gap around the screen. So now it wasn't just the bezel, there was a tiny valley which was a magnet for dust and gunk.
In spite of my best effort on application, a piece of dust got under it and was forever annoying me.
The clarity of the screen was noticably reduced, even when the screen protector was brand new.
Though it was a pretty high-spec one, it still made the touch-screen slightly less sensitive than before.
It kept my X1 pristine for a few months - and so was hardly a waste of money; but having removed it, life is so much better.
I use my X1 for 10 months now without any screen protector -- I really hate those.
The screen does have a few tiny scratches, but only visible under proper light and proper angle (one has to look for them to see them). Absolutely invisible when the back-light is on and during normal use.
I'm careful to carry only soft things in the same pocket as my X1 and that's the only screen protection it needs
Why don't use screen protector for your phone, for me, it is a must to have items. Protect the phone well for long term using

my x1 is over 1 year and a am not using screen protector... my screen is really messed up and a lot of scratches, but only visible under proper light and proper angle!!!
1. Don`t have it in your pocket whit out a screen protector or ....()
2. Don`t drop it to the ground
3. Don`t point at the screen whit a burning laser, bot whit a 5mw OR 200 whit the lens in not in a burning posision you can control the screen white the laser...
I don't use a screen protector because it looks so obvious that you have one. I just take good care of my phone and I put it in a case when not in use.
I personally never used screen protector, and despite little scratches you can't even see, the display is fine after year of use (unlike the housing... damn cracks )
Just got one for my Milestone, and must say very impressed with the Clarivue screen protectors.
Not only are they actually made in Japan (I can tell since labels are also in Japanese), they give you two, along with a wet wipe.
Was very easy to apply. The Anti-Glare one I got does reduce clarity significantly but at the same time appears to be completely finger-print proof.
It's on special (at the moment), and got a 10% discount coupon from my first purchase so think I might buy another pack (this time the ultra-clear one)
http://www.clarivue.com/motorola-milestone-screen-protector.html
I have Clarivue screen protector on my Milestone also, and it's perfect. The second one I put perfect, the first one still had some dust beneath. Anyway for the money I prefer Clarivue instead Boxwave.
Do you see any orange peel with the screen saver?
whaaat 11$? no way, just go to ebay and check those sellers from HK - you can get these things pretty cheaply (even ten times cheaper)...
I've got the cheapest antiglare on earth for my milestone as I hate fingerprints and also with the antiglare it seems like it is easier to swipe fingers across the screen as they don't "stick" to the default glossy screen.
However I get pretty weird colors probably because of refraction characteristics of the protector. Even though - pros>cons.
Can you suggest any seller for the HK one? At least you tried them already.

If you keep your phone in a "sleeve" or you don't use the phone in dirty conditions - I would say - it doesn't need a screen protector.
However I use a matte protector for two reasons:
-it feels better, my fingers "sticks" to too shiny surfaces like milestone and with the matte protector I think it feels more smooth to swipe across the screen
-no finger prints!
I totally agree. Mine right now sucks. I'd like to try the matte.

The Milestone has a gorilla glass display thats very hard to scratch! It is harder than most metals and there are videos on youtube of people trying to scratch gorilla glass with keys and pens, but fail to do so... so its kinda pointless adding a protector as it will only detract from the smooth feel of the gorilla glass. It will reduce the sensitivity of the touch screen. It is counter productive!

You can find it on google - its a pretty well known fact - The Droid and the Milestone were amongst the first cell phones to use Gorilla glass on the display - youtube should have a bunch of videos too.
But you should understand - this only makes it very hard to scratch the glass - any material that has a hardness value higher than the gorilla glass can scratch it.
I was using a screen protector for a while but I got fed up with it after a while and took it off. The cover I used diffracted the light from the screen caused a slight rainbow effect and was less sensitive to the touch. One of the reasons I chose the milestone is because of the capacitive touchscreen and the cover made it almost as bad as an old resistive screen!
My screen is still scratch free dispite living in my pocket, although the metal around the screen has a few nicks. Gorilla glass is impressive there are some demos on the net like this one http://vimeo.com/8602963
The rainbow effect was because it was anti-glare. With clear protector you shouldnt get any difractions. Also the clear protectors are thinner so you get better sensitivity.
How are you protecting your screen from looking all smudged? And don't your finger "stick" to the glass without matte protector? Because for me that's even worse than having less sensitivity.
Yes the screen permantly has a bunch of fingerprint marks, although I don't notice them much. This will probably bother me more in summer when there is more sunlight around.
I find my fingers do the opposite of stick, they glide over the glass, with protectors I didn,t like the extra friction.
I appreciate it is down to personal preference.

I'm sorry to say that, but Gorilla Glass has one weak point, dust... Dust and sometimes sand have quartz and quartz still is harder than GG. My Milestone has survived so many falls but once, and just once, it slipped in the floor and one small spec of dust fell of the speaker grill and the screen got a tiny scratch from that single spec of dust.
It is hard to scratch it, but not impossible. Today I use a Invisible Shield and I'm happy with it, no more scratchs.
Here I use the phone only in a Noreve leather case... I dropped it only one time, the cover was open and the Stone felt with the screen on the floor and I got 2 tiny scratches on the amazing GG 8-|... I'm using a cheap screen protective film now ^^.
I didnt buy a screen shield because i was told the droid/milestone use gorilla glass which makes it almost impossible to scratch the screen , boy i was WRONG, my milestone has like 4 scratches, two are just visible when the screen is off so its ok , but the other two are VERY VISIBLE, they're almost staring me , when i use apps with white backgrounds such as the messaging app and the browser the scratches "leak light" , i've become obsessed
Theres nothing i can do know but to advise all of you to buy a screen protector
Yes, and I can recommend the screen protectors from Martin Fields The price is average, but it's like that thing is invisible...no touch screen sensibility problems, scratch resistant and light absorbing...
The only phone I'm having which is scratch proof is the Nokia 8600 Luna. I've never saw another phone without scratches...

well, I don't want to sound like a sales representative, but I really have to admit that I didn't notice any change in touch sensibility (at least I didn't notice it)...I had a HTC Tattoo before and bought the screen protector from Martin Fields also for that one and there also was no change in sensibility...
it's only 0,2 mm thick by the way
Why, that's no thicker than a condom.

TBH I have a cheap screen protector and never had any touch screen problems on any of the touch screen phones i have had
Gorilla Glass doesn't sucks... The perception that it is un-scratchable sucks.
Unfortunately this thing is poorly market and no one makes any effort to properly tell you that, altough Gorilla Glass is really harder and really much more difficult to scratch, it is easily scratched by diamonds (well, that is life, diamonds are harder than almost anything) and quartz (which is commonly found on dust and sand). Usually scratches come from friction from jewels with the screen or friction of dust/sand in your pockets or something else with the screen. I can tell you that I take care to not store my phone in dusty places or places where jewels are nearby, and never had any scratch on it, it has even fallen once or twice, screen down.
Mutch better than, per say, my old Nokia E51 (which I love BTW), that had scratchs of just taking it off my pocket and putting it on my pocket...
The main selling point of gorilla glass is its strength, it's really hard to break : It is hard to SMASH AND CRACK. the scratch resistant is just a marketing scheme.

This "Its awesome Gorilla Glass, dude! No Scratches and cracks never ever" is only marketing. There is every time a way to scratch and break this thingy.
THe first thing I am doing after purchasing a Gadget with a screen like Handhelds or Smartphones is to apply a really top quality Screen Protector. I have a screen protector on my Motorola Milestone and I am really glad that Ive done that.
So, don't trust always the adverts.
I use the matte screen protector from hong kong for like 20cent price and it is virtually without any scratches.
Also it is great because it doesn't attract fingerprints and is easier to swipe upon.
Strongly recommended!

Not me. I will never buy a screen protector. All my phones never had one but all of them looks good as new. If you put your phone in your pocket, Never put anything else and it will be fine.
well i use quite cheap screen protector since a few months, before that, nothing happend to my screen either, but i thought it could be good to make sure it stays like that.
c'mon nothing is indestructible.
I used a screen protector religiously on my old Nokia phone, but my Milestone gets beat up every day with no protector and still looks good. At this point, I would consider Gorilla Glass a plus on the spec sheet, but not necessarily a guarantee that the screen is indestructible. Can't hurt, though.
My phone have for some reason only mini scratches, you can only see them with the right light angle, for somehow it cant get big scratches, I tried on a corner ofcourse
Gorilla Glass
I think gorilla glass is a joke. The first day I had my Motorola Photon, I dropped it and the screen broke in a hundred pieces. Had to get a new one and I promised myself I would be careful.. Didn't install a screen saver because I thought the glass would be like a ceramic crystal on a watch. Well, after three scratches on my glass, I decided to put a screen saver on. AS far as I'm concerned gorilla glass only has one good property. That is it's name. For corning to put their name on this product is a joke. Steve
yep, gorilla glass is marketing joke. use matte screen protectors
I've been using a matte screen protector on my Galaxy Tab since I got it. Loved that it barely needed wiping..but hated the "rainbow" color effect it had on the screen, particularly on whites. Replaced it yesterday with a clear/gloss protector and i like it better, even though it attracts fingerprints like anything. I was just wondering, since the SGT has a gorilla glass screen, do we really need to use a screen protector for it?
Does anybody use their tab naked?
(i'm talking about the Tab here being naked, not you)
I just feel like I might be missing out on a better Galaxy Tab experience because I keep my tab in a thick case with a screen protector.
I tired it once. It feels smother actually, and considering the gorilla glass, a protector isn't really needed. However, there's probably the psychological impact of it. You know, glass is still glass.
I use the tab naked and naked ;-)
no screen protector but a case that protects realy nice.

I am using the anti-glare screen guard.. it guards perfectly for my oily fingers hehe..
Sorry man, I don't think you will get a perfect answer. Some people's screens will have never scratched however some do get scratched although they are careful. Gorilla glass is not scratch proof, just more resistant to scratches than a normal non enhanced glass or plastic screen. There may be minerals in all sorts of places (cleaning cloth, pocket, car seat) which are harder than glass which could scratch your tabs screen.
The fact that you have been putting screen protectors in the first place and also have created this thread gives me the impression that you want a perfect screen. But there is always a trade off... no protection gives smoother and a greater touchscreen experience but a protector will prevent any possible scratches to your screen.
My advice would be for you to leave your screen protector on. Glossy is fine as fingerprints are not really visible when backlight is on.
I have used them for a while. I installed a XO Skin on my gtab and my 10.1 io. The best thing, (besides stopping scratches) is they hide finger prints and smudges. Heres a link

Same here and I have absolutely no scratches on the screen. I do however keep my tab in a case whenever it isn't in use.
i guess there is no definite answer to this, as with a lot of things, it comes down to preference...
honestly now that i think about it, having a screen protector gives me the peace of mind that i did everything I could to protect the screen. I let other people use it, i stuff it in my bag with more confidence. If i take the screen protector off I might end up being an over-protective galaxy tab parent, always polishing the screen, always checking for scratches.
I think i'll be sticking with the glossy protector for a while.
ps. can anyone suggest the clearest possible screen protector i could get?
I used my Tab for 4 months naked without issue, then got a little paranoid before going on holiday.
The day after the Techskin arrived (and before I put it on) I drop the Tab on my driveway resulting in 2 tiny marks The marks aren't huge, but I can't help but notice them everytime I see the screen
*sigh*
I have used a screen protector on all my past tablets ( my GT is my 5th tablet ).
Using the protector allowed me to sell my previous tablets (when upgrading to the next one) with a 100% looking screen.
I use the GT without a screen protector (and with a case permanently on), as I intend to keep it for a while - and at the time I will maybe want to sell it, it will not be worth too much whether there are slight traces of use on the screen or not. It does look better and has better touch sensitivity with no screen protector on - no doubt about that.
But if I ever get a scratch on the glass - I can still put a screen protector on, which makes that scratch disappear.
My second current table (iPad) has a screen protector on, as my small kids often play on it . Also, the ipad has no case on it (only a back cover) - so the front is more exposed.
I use skinomi on my tab, incrediable, and ipod touch. They are almost like a vinyl. Very clear and I had very small bubbles when I installed it but the next day all of the imperfections disappeared. Like if you get a piece of dust under there during installation you don't get the air bubble with it. And they are cut to fit.
I was given a screen protector when I bought mine in the shop. They even applied it for me I think it the brand was screenguard.
I have a case for the tab, so i don't know how scratch resistant it is. As for the screen, it still looks great, but at extreme angles, there are coloured grains when viewing whites.
Its overall very good and is sized perfectly, I sometimes forget there's a screen protector!
I used my tab without screen protector. Screen protector is useless for a gorilla glass. I already tried scratching my tab using a key and scissor. No scratch at all. Try it guys.

I got the Invisible Shield protector from Zagg. They had a 50% off deal going for Memorial Day, so it came to like $13. From what I read, I might not need it. But I still bought it, just in case. Now all I'm waiting for is my Tab to arrive from Woot!
I use one of those cheapy anti-glare matte screen protectors. It makes reading things on the tab a bit easier on the eyes and prevents a lot of fingerprint smudging, however it also covers up the nice screen. So it just boils down to preference since the tab's screen is made of gorilla glass.
Screen Protector definitely. I love the gloss screen but fingerprints annoy me and glare can be bothersome. I got 3 for $4 bucks and only used one so I figure if a huge gouge gets in the screen protector the screen will be good and I have 2 extras.
I acquired my gsm galaxy tab last week, and I am extremely pleased with it. However I have been using it without a screen protector or a case. Unfortunately, I have managed to get abminornscrstch on the screen of my Tab. I was travelling with it in my pocket, but I never kept it with anything else, nevertheless I somehow managed to scratch it. So now I am on the lookout for a decent screen protector as I suspect my device's gorilla glass screen is probably not the strongest, all devices are not equal, there will always be some minor variation in quality in the hardware between devices, eg, CPU - some can be heavily undervolted AND overclocked and others freeze even if you attempt a minor overclock.

It is not necessary to use a protector screen with gorilla glass!! Protect your Tab with a neoprene case!

I myself use that plastic film that came on my GTab when I bought it. You know, those cheap screen protectors that are added on at the factory before they get to the consumer. I just carefully peel the screen protector off, so as not to bend it, and then cut the little tab part off of it and rounded it out to fit the dimensions of the screen. Then I will spray water onto the tacky part that touches the screen and place it back on and the squeegee out the water to the edges. Works perfect every time, and it is removable and reusable. I do this will all of my phones too.
Matt screen protector all the way.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages by putting screen protector on my galaxy ace. Heard that som epeople put them, and after they removed it, there stayed permanent damages.
I use a screen protector and have no issues. They used to effect the touchscreen, but newer capactive touch screens have no issues. They protect my screen from a lot of scratches.
A word of advice: buy the more expensive ones - their thicker and leave less bubbles.
When putting one on, do it from the longest edge. You'll be able to line it up better.

theres no real disadvantages. They tend to get grubbier than the screen would, but you dont get scratches (theres a lot of debate over wether the ace has gorilla glass, many sources say it does, but equally many, including samsung say it doesnt).
Advantages, well, saves scratches and once every month or so you change it and get to have a whole new phone all over again.
i actually tend to go with the short side first (generally starting at the button edge) and working up with a credit card.
i just buy a new rubberised case/screenprotector/stylus combi on ebay once a month.. keeps my phone pristine so when it comes to upgrade i can still get a decent price.
but anyway, there will be those that show you youtube videos of people attacking an ace with keys and not scratching, there will be others you tell you their screen got scratched while it was in their pocket.
I cant think of a valid argument for having one. If the girls says shes on the pill, you still wear a condom
personally have one original from Samsung for SGA from retailer since i bought my phone.. it feels pretty good to have a good protector screen remains smooth and no scratches at all.. actually my phone after cleaning dirt looks like just unboxed even after 9 months fell 2-3 times but nothing happened anywhere
The way I look at it is that if you don't mean to beat your phone up, you shouldn't need a screen protector. The galaxy ace comes with gorilla glass and mine hasn't been scratched since I got it in November. I've accidentally dropped it screen down a few times too.
Either way its your choice. Just my 2 cents

Its a must have, no questions asked.
theres a lot of confusion over gorilla glass, samsung dont say it has, gorilla glass says it does.
But, worth remembering. Gorillla glass is SCRATCH RESISTANT, not scratch proof.
For the sake of a couple of dollars, why not have a protector anyway.

Well I see your point there. So yeah, it's not a bad investment. I just wish I could find a mirrored one But you're right, in the long run it will probably be worth it. Just like a case, we don't mean to drop our phones, but it's definately a worth it
no brainer
If your phone gets a scratch without a protector then your gonna have to look at that scratch till upgrade time...............
If you phone gets a scratch with a screen protector then its easy to replace the flimsy bit of plastic
Just put it on and forget about it.
I have a plastic cover on my Ace's screen and it works like a charm. Screen is still brand new too. I actually stabbed my phone with a knife to see how good it was. The plastic has a hole but the screen is still epic
And its not even a hole, its just a little dot. The plastic barely gets scratched too. Its a win-win situation.

Can you post a picture of this please. I just want to see how it looks and then I can purchase it from eBay or a Local Retailer. It sounds to be a Good value for money product
Its not noticeable its nothing bad it just protects your screen with out making a massive fusd, justbiy one you won't regret it.

Knife your unprotected screen, there won't be a scratch either. Gorilla glass doesn't scratch easily.
The screen protector serves a more useful purpose at making the screen smoother, less reflective, and retain less fingerprints.
Erm....gorilla glass.....no scrathes!Unless u realy don't care for ur phone!

I guess accidents doesnt exist in your perfect world.
However, someone in the first page said to buy the more expensive ones, thats just a load of bull. Cheap ones from ebay work just as good. These screen protectors cost 0.1$ to manufacture so that's why they're able to make money even if they sell em cheap.
edit: 0.12$ to be more exact
I don't use any screen protector.
Glas don't scratches like the old touchscreens
which react react pressure.
As per my opinion there is not any disadvantage for using screen protector. It always protect your screen from scratches.
Why?
I'll never understand screen protector users. Our phone has Guerrilla Glass, designed so you DON'T need a screen protector, and it works. I've never had a screen protector on my Ace, or any of my phones for that matter, and none of my screens have scratches or marks.
My Ace Screen looks like it just came out of the box, and it has been dropped, and I have even tested the durability of the screen by trying to scratch it with a knife, keys, and sand paper... and it still looks brand new.
Screen protectors make the phone screen feel less slick and smooth, and they are difficult to put on and remove without air bubbles all while staying centered. You can't even force out most air bubbles with a credit card or flat edge. They also make the screen less responsive, although this isn't much of an issue with capacitive touch screens anymore, it still happens if your protector is too thick.
What are you doing that you need a protector? I carry my keys and stuff in one pocket and my phone in the other, and even if they are in the same pocket, none of my phones have ever been scratched by anything in my pocket...

Every ace is different some aces have the guerilla glass some don't.
