I looked everywhere for this question and found one but it was old topic. WOnder if anyone has found a way to connect their touchpad with android to a tv or monitor?
Dalingrin said it wasn't going to happen through usb. It'd have to be with an app.

Hi All,
I've recently bought a dock with power and usb port, but unfortunately and for some reason, my USB OTG cable doesn't work. Anyway since my dock will be connected to the PC, OTG might not be needed.
I need a program for windows to control my galaxy note through USB. I don't want to see the phone display on my computer, I want to use the laptop's mouse and keyboard to control the phone as if am connect through OTG. Ideas?
refer HERE
I have already searched the forum for a solution and I couldn't find one. VNC or screen cast are not what I am looking for. The idea here is to transfer control as if you're connected through OTG, without the need to stream the display to the PC...

dude, no offense, there are better ways and apps for the same thing, there's too much effort to go through with what you've posted.
but actually, I'm also curious as to the OP's question

Airdroid is pretty good for this over wifi... Just allocates a port under your ip address and you connect through browser.

Sorry, just read your post properly, this ain't what you're after at all I should probably go back to bed.

Dear everyone!
I read of some other forum about nexus 7 can connect to 3g usb & work well. So, can Hp Touchpad android connect to 3g usb like this? i hope this thing is happen, you know touchpad will awesome with this mighty thing.
Plz teach me how, if you guy did it.
Many Thanks
Unlike Nexus 7, touchpad micro usb doesn't provide any power. That said, you need a Y connector and a power source to get the USB Host functionality.
Therefore it is not portable and painful setup if you want to use it on the go. Another thing is the driver for the 3g dongle itself, its possibly already implemented in the driver, if not its never going to happen, since its a pain in the ass to write a new driver specifically for the 'old' touchpad.
If you need internet connection on the go, I suggest you to get one of the portable hotspot device like huawei e585 or similar kind or you could even share your android/iphone internet (wifi tether)
Just to give you an idea of how messy the setup of the OTG on touchpad is:

Thanks for your Information, i heared that before and now i'm using my phone to tether internet connection for that. It's just a little hoping for miracle thing on touchpad. I always believe a day when touchpad rising again ^^.

This would be a workaround. I had one similar to this that was rechargeable .

3g dongle works with hp touchpad now. Check Josh's PPPWidget forum. I am using a ZTE MF110 with it on CM9 and get better performance than on a win7 machine.
Hello hello, So i just bought a SGS3 mini, and as i now can.. well watch vids on youtube, my data cap has been reached very fast.
I do not own a wireless router, but i do have a good wired connection, and have been trying to reverse tether the phone for a few days without luck, Its rooted and with maclaws latest 4.3.1 ROM.
I have been considering if i should buy a Wifi dongle, and use that to reverse tether, anyone know how that would work?, and what to look for on it, surely ad-hoc, but is there anything else, anyone tried this and had it work?
Apps ive tried with USB cable, and setting usb debugging on; Reverse Tethering, USB reverse Tethering, ReverseTethering 3.02 from thambaru(Windows only, it did not detect the phone..)
I do have the samsung drivers installed from maclaws site, so that should not be an issue
Please help :|
-.-, so no one has a clue how to get this working lol
I wonder, would a wifi dongle work?, done alot of googling but not sure if it works right with android phones -.-
Before anyone says router or Access point, too strained on cash for that.
I have a client who has a M7 and a Tab Pro 10.1 and he wants to know how to stream the screen of his tablet to his TV or PC at his office to use for a demonstration and use kind of as a remote whiteboard. He saw someone doing it at a meeting he went to last week, but did not ask how they were doing it. I have searched all around and it looks like he has to be rooted to do it, but it seems unreliable and I don't want to have to fix or set this thing up every time he uses it. I am sure he wont mind rooting his tablet if it means he will be able to stream his screen. I was hoping Chromecast would be able to do it easily, but it looks like that is not a feature yet and it can only be done fairly reliably through Chrome on a computer.
Has anyone done this yet? What do you recommend?
He has a:
HTC One M7
Tab Pro 10.1 (stock)
Intel Nuc running Windows 8.1 Pro 64 connected to the TV
Chromecast
Vizio 70" TV
Thanks in advance!
hello! im new to this forum, and this is my first thread so sorry if i happen to be posting this in the wrong place, but ive been looking all over trying to find a remedy to my problem so now im turning to the forums for help.
i have a newly acquired 2010 chevy malibu LTZ, with a freshly installed pioneer SPH-DA120 APPRADIO 4 double din headunit. it loooks amazing, and it works great with an exception of a HUGE headache. i have a google nexus 6, and ive been told multiple times this phone is compatible with android auto, and i have even seen videos of it working, but i cant get i to work at all on my head unit. now mind you my headunit is compatible with car play, mirrorlink, and appradio and theres videos of it running android auto. my problem lies when i plug the phone into the unit, the only message i get is an error on the unit reading "incompatible usb". the device ans the headunit are at the latest firmware, and as added measure, i reset the device, and tried applying the parking brake, and enabling USB debuggind, all with the same end result. im at my wits end trying to figure this out, someone help please!

The head unit isn't compatible with Android Auto. The Pioneer Avh-4100NEX runs Android Auto out of the box.
Sorry to bear bad news, but that model does not support "Android Auto": http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/AppRadio/AppRadio+4+(SPH-DA120)
It supports CP, "AppRadio" mode and Mirrorlink.
I think it's unlikely to be upgraded.
Well in that case does anybody know where I can get a cheap HDMI to micro USB splitter for app radio mode then..

I can't answer that.
But if you are going with AppRadio, you may want to look into AppRadio Unchained or Reloaded; it seems a lot of people prefer it to AppRadio.
