Hey guys,
there is (was) a general problem with multi-sim-cards of different provider by using Tablets.
If you have such multi-sim-cards, and you put them in phones, both rings when a call comes in.
but if one of the sim card is inside an android tablet, the device cancels the phonecall, because it can't handle it. The phone with the second card doesn't ring or just shows a missed call. The caller just gets a busy line.
Apple, Samsung and HTC already fixed this problem on their devices. But I don't think Dell would do that on the Streak devices.
Is there any patch that I can apply on my device to solve this problem?
I couldn't find any resolutions on this yet.
thanks in advance
Jason

When you are calling someone that has another call (Call waiting), your PPC do not show in a notification or beep that the second party is having another line.
This is available on any very basic symbian phone.
Is there a cab to fix that?
Share a solution if you have one..
This is a feature from your carrier.... Call waiting works just fime on my Kaiser

Call waiting works fine on my Kaiser as well.
The carrier here has this option.
This is not the problem though.
The problem is when you call someone up from a PPC and that party has another line.
You should get a beep or a visual notification showing that the person you are calling has another line (my call is waiting on his phone).
So, if someone has a solution for this; please share.
Ok what I think your talking about is when you call someone that is on the phone, you hear a quick beep indicating that they are on the line, correct????
If this is what you are talking about, YES it is carrier specific. For example, when I call my father on Verizon and he is on the phone with someone else, after each ring there is a small beep. This is telling me that he is on the line.
There is nothing you can do to the Tilt to change this, it is carrier specific.
True... and there are also some PBX systems that provide the ring/beep when you are the call waiting. It usually depends on the phone system of the person you're calling.

I think that is carrier specific too.. if I am calling some someone who is busy on another call, I get a completely diff to ringing tone.. Infact in most cases I get a audio message that the person I am calling is busy on another call and I should wait or call back later... Atleast thats what we have on all major carriers here in India...
ok we know that carrier has to support it, i know t-mobile does...
i used an old nokia to check and it works, it beeps and the whole screen says CALL WAITING, then it starts ringing...
i haven't seen any Windows Mobile touch screen or not that can do this
so its a carrier thing, yes t-mobile supports it.. windows mobile doesnt support it though!!!
so there is no way to make a .cab or something to fix this problem
It's not broken so how can you fix it? It's just not a feature that is offered.
it is not about the carrier. for instance when i had a nokia, when the other party was on the phone i had a beep in my phone, but with the WM devices, you cannot see that you call is waiting.
Hi,
My HTC HD7 is having a bit of a problem. The caller id does not funtion properly all my contacts have the area code prefix for all the numbers. When I receive a call the caller name is not shown only the number is shown. But if I remove the area code the caller name is shown. But then all the sms (text messages) I receive shows only the Sender's number and not the name. Please let me know if there is a fix for this.
Thx
Well known problem and still without solution.
Probably we'll need someone to hack the registry and we can find the key where the caller ID match the number.
Mine also has the same problem.
same here
Mine is having the same problem... is an HTC issue... I searched everywhere and there's no solution yet available... Can't believe HTC made this error....
Hi,
Any news about fix the caller ID problem on Mango Update ?
mango 7712 still has that problem
Having updated my phone to mango 7712, I´m still having this problem. I wouldn´t say is and HTC problem but a windows Phone 7 bug. It´s hard to believe they did nothing about it.
Turn off international assist under phone settings and your problems will disappear. Once off, power cycle your phone

I have the same problem and turning off international assist won't do anything to help. I've reported this twice to HTC and once to @winphonesupport on twitter (lots of back and forth and made them understand that many people are having this problem and they said they were aware that other people are having this issue and that they will let the right people on the WP team know).. Yeah so hopefully this gets fixed with mango, but im not too optimistic about that.
Have you tried? I had that problem as it adds characters in the numbers, then it does not recognize from the list of contacts. It worked for me, all works now....

I have! i wish it did work! you're in australia which is probably why it works. An htc rep actually called me (i was really surprised) but i was running late for a dinner so i barely heard what he had to say. he was like yeah we have that problem with some countries like lebanon(mine) and iceland and htc is working on it for future phones but not this one or something like that. i was late and couldn't talk so i said ok thanks and hung up.
First of all, I want to say that I found people with the same issue using Android everywhere and with a lot of different phones, so it's probably an Android bug rather then Moto X itself, but I wanted to leave my report.
I came from an S3, which suffered from the same problem when using Cyanogenmod. When using official Samsung ROM everything worked as it should. Now, I'm getting the same issue on my brand new Moto X.
When I try to call someone, sometimes it just doesn't call, after I press the dial button, it just hangs (without ringing) and finished the call with a "Cal ended" message. It happens randomly, and sometimes I can't call anybody for like 2/3 hours.
The simcard has been changed from the S3 (micro) to the Moto X (nano), so it's probably not it. Also, with the Samsung ROM it didn't happen.
I can still receive calls and messages, and the signal strength is fine most of the time. I just can't call.
Today I faced this problem and then I tried calling from my girlfriend smartphone (samsung ace IIx) at the same time, which is from the same carrier, calling to the same number, and it just worked fine. Mine still didn't work though.

Don't know what to do.
i've had the call not go through as you've described, but have never had a phone not let me place "any call" afterwards. i always chalked it up to poor performance (limited RAM, too many processes, etc). My DROID3 would do it and often times when it finally did make a call, there was zero sound and I would have to reboot the phone.

Hmm, it doesn't seems like poor performance. I ended up every task and it still happened.
However, I noticed that when I check the "2G ONLY" option it comes back to work. Maybe it's something with the HSPA/HSPA+ connection.
it could be completely carrier dependent then. my experience has been with vzw.
Moto X "Call Ended"
I have experienced this same problem in Houston on the T-Mobile network after switching over to Android. My T-Mobile rep told me they have had towers vandalized for copper which has impacted service for them, I believe he said it was about 15 towers and 10K a pop to get things corrected. What gets me is I was on a Bold 9900 and while I had signal problems in the affected areas of town I didn't not experience the "call ended" issue. I can also call other T-Mobile phones from those same areas but not land lines so to me this seems like a possible network routing issue which I have seen before between specific carriers.
If the problem does continue I may have to switch carriers. T-Mobiles service was previously outstanding in Houston but recently had not been great after the 4G LTE upgrades. I support multiple hospitals and need service to work correctly and will work with the T-Mobile Engineers to see if I can make headway on that front. I noticed another MotoX user reporting he only had the issue when flying in to Houston for work and that everything worked for him outside of Houston. His solution was to operate in 2G mode which for me is really not an option. I have to handle a lot of tasks over the network while on calls.
Anyways I would appreciate it if others could post if they are experiencing these issues and give as many details as possible so we can try to isolate the root cause of this problem and if found to be a carrier issue we can escalate with them. Thanks

Call Ended Issue Resolved
Hi All,
I see this Call Ended Issue in many brands. So I assume the error is a combination of the Network along with the SimSlot.
I tried various combinations for my Moto-E mobile.
Before i post the solution i found, Let me provide a brief about the problem.
I use Vodafone network on sim1 slot and Uninor network on Sim2 slot. I started facing the call ended issue on my sim 1 vodafone network.
I inter changed the sim's and found the network working absolutely fine. This makes me to understand that the sim1 slot with the vodafone carrier has some network issue where that IMEI code has some problem.
i tried to place the vodafone sim again on the sim 1 slot and found the problem persists. So i came to that conclusion.
Hope this might help you and provide a instantaneous and temporary resolution.
Thanks,
Praveen.
Call Ended problem still going...
Hey,
I just rooted my Moto X (XT 1053), like 5 min ago, in the hope to fix this same problem. I`m no programer/developer and have nothing against rooting, I just don`t think I`m that kind of user. Anyway, about a week ago my phone started to drop my calls right after dialing. I restored factory settings, updated it and nothing worked. I took it for service and they offered to charge me 150 bucks to restore factory settings and update the software. So I was kinda forced to root and try to fix it this way. The problem is that I probably don`t understand half of what you guys say, so if there are any kind souls out there, please help me out.
To sum it up:
- No Sim Card error
- I get carrier services and can use mobile internet (3G because 4G is still too explensive here in Brazil)
- Directly drops my calls
- Won't receive calls
- Won't send or receive text messages via carrier (just over 3G or wifi)
I`ve tried another carrier's Sim Card, no go.
I`ve tried my Sim Card on another phone and it worked just dandy, so I really don`t think it`s carrier related.
I`m running Android 4.4.3, as the other updates weren`t available for my phone via Motorola. I thought maybe updating to a newer version of Android might do the trick. I just have no clue on how to do that on a rooted phone... or on a non rooted phone for that matter.
Can anyone give me any tips/pointers/etc... ?
Thanks!
I have the same issue with my moto x on Verizon. Have you been able to figure it out?
I am seeing issues when receiving calls. The call connects but after a min or 2, I hear static then the caller can not longer hear me, I can hear them. Then the call drops,
Anyone else seen this? I am heading over to AT&T to see if they can swap this one out.

ATT is going to swap it out.

DId the new phone have the same issue? I've gone through 3 phones, pending to swap my 4th. First one I swear didn't have it, the last two did. My calls didn't drop, but I had static and lots of it.
I just started a thread to see if it was just me or if it's on all the Nexus 6 devices: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...aker-static-white-noise-t2962949/post57273176
If it's a software issue, then I'd gladly keep my phone and wait for an update, but if it's hardware... I need a new damn device!
I'm new here joined hoping to get clued in,
I have a new to me tab active 2 and it suits my needs and I like it but I am a bit confused over a lot of different information I run into,
In my case I'm using a tello sim for service which is good for my area and the sim came with a phone number I assumed from online reading i could make calls and use the tab for text but it would seem I can not tello said my device doesn't support voLTE so I hope some of you gurus can tell me what I can and can't do with this tab call and text wise perhaps suggests apps,
I do not make many actual calls so in most cases I can use Facebook messenger call feature if it's a friend but what about that once in a while I need to call a restaurant or car parts store etc I'm I simply out of luck making such calls on this device?
And so does that also rule out text messages, for example if i wanted to use that tello number so a craigslist buyer seller could hit me is that out of the question too on this device?
Many thanks,
Bats
