The unlocks just remove different protections on the ROM that prevent customisation as far as I know. Ultrashot is credited with allowing the search button to be mapped to different functions while the DFT unlock allows native code applications to be run like Opera Mobile.
As for the different between the XAP IE installers - no idea! Both will do the same thing I imagine.

my latest mi7rom_1.2_18_lang already has ultrashot, xbmod, ceesheim and contabl_miro cert cooked in! i´m over test and upload it............

- ultrashot unlock (premissed) will be possible to upload officiall updates over cab sender

it contain all other unlocks, the dft method also =
- generally to instal xap (no difference)
- pervent zune to relock the device again
- install xap over ie mobile (no difference)
- run native code apps (old wm apps, like opera mobile 10)
+ ability to remap the searchbutton function
is the best, latest unlock on a custom rom ...........

I have tried all Opera builds but not one of them seems stable enough to support flash!
In V7 I've used latest Opera build 15316 as cab so I leave it up to you what you do with it.
One thing do, because of the latest Esmertec Jbed Opera is improved a lot!
Internet Explorer 6 is stable and support's flash, Youtube movies play excelent in it smooth and clear!

A warning before you flash this rom!
You must flash HardSPL first to be able to flash this rom!

An alternative is USPL, it doesn't change your original SPL!

Tips about flashing the rom:
Best is to have your device fully charged
Switch off your device by holding the Power button untill a menu popsup.
Go to bootloader by holding Volume down + Power button at the same time.
Connect your device to your PC
Start BlackStoneCustomRUU.exe and follow the onscreen instruction's.
An alternative is to flash your device from storage card:
Rename RUU_Signed.nbh to BLACIMG.NBH and copy it to your Storage card
Follow the above steps to go in bootloader
A messages will popup, push power button to start flashing or Volume down to cancel
After it's done a new message popsup, softreset your device.
Aldo I have tested this rom many time's and it's currently running on my device I don't take any responsability incase something goes wrong with your device!

Love your work, Laurentius. Have used your ROMs many times. I'm curious about the 8mb pagepool. Do you think it might be the optimal size? I'm currently playing around with my own ROM, and have set my pagepool at 16mb. Seems to be quite responsive, but if it's excessive, I should change it. In Canada, I'm on Rogers, which supports Caller Name Display. It will show who is calling, even if they are not in your contacts list. I've replaced the rilphone.dll from the Rogers Diamond ROM and it is working, which is why I'm trying to cook my own ROM, but I'm having trouble with my packages, they seem to install, but I don't have any shortcuts in my Program directory. Do I need to do anything special when I create a package from a cab?? Thanks for any help I can get.

IMPORTAND READING FOR MULTILANGUAGE USERS:
-There might be some language/timezone issues due to localization.
This can be fixed by go to start menu/settings/system/reginal settings and choose your country.

My tips on how to flash a custom rom:
-Do not let battery be below 50%
-Keep the device on a secure location (so that it wont fall and loose connection to your pc during flash)
-Enter bootloader (rainbowscreen) pressing power button and volume down simultaneously (hold the buttons untill you enter bootloader)
-Connect to pc (activesync)
-Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow onscreen instructions

1.) If you want a slightly larger softkeyboard (standard wm sk) enter settings/Input then you will see the options to choose either large keys or small keys.
And ofcourse you wanna check the option for large keys, since that was the purpose of this tip
2.) If you wanna use bbc iplayer, you could add this string to opera.ini (thx to fards for pointing this out)

3.) Remapping softkeys will not work using conventional methods as regeditors etc. You will need as a temp sollution
to install a application called HD-Tweak made by Monte Cristo over at Blackstone forums. This app mods Manila, and
will work remapping softkeys. DO NOT USE THE SOUND TWEAK OPTIONS WITH THIS APP, THEY WILL HAVE OPPOSITE EFFECT ON X1.
The rest of the tweaks listed in HD-Tweak, you can safly try to apply (NEW 05.02.09)
4.) -Some might experience that common tweaks are not included after installation.
But I have added a Touch-IT.provxml (updated/fixed) file in attachments. Copy it to your sd-card, then run advanced config
click menu in right bottom corner, then choose import provisioning xml.. browse to the Touch-IT.provxml file, select it, wait a bit, then reset when asked.

Additional info on v3.5:
-ALWAYS PERFORM A HARD RESET AFTER UPGRADING TO A NEW ROM. IF NOT YOU MIGHT HAVE ISSUES THAT IS NOT ROM RELATED
-Opera is set to WWE only on all languages. I dont have the language files that translates this version correct.
In my eyes the advantage with this Opera version outweights the disadvantage (wwe only)
-You will most likly need to run Connectionsetup manually, you find it under startmenu/settings/connections
-For some reason landscape cab from Angelusz unfortunatly mess up camera settings in my rom. So my advice is to wait untill he ev. updates.
Info to users of Russian rom:
-I could not fint the locale paths to start menu\programs in your rom (perhaps I need russian support installed on pc?? Cause all I saw was alot of numbers. So the Touch-IT folder is installed to this path: Startmeny/programmer/Touch-IT you can copy the touch-it folder using total commander to the correct path (or another place of your choice), after that you can delete the folders that is in wrong language.

-Please state what language you use if reporting bugs.
-Try as best as you can to describe the issues you have
-Perhaps make some screenshots of the issues if you can (attached MyMobile123.zip is great for screenshots. Install on PC)
-Also write what X1 version you use. X1a or X1i
-Dont start yelling about the rom is useless (Or similar) just because a feature you use is not working. That is to me really demoralising to read, and it most
certainly dont encourage me to respond to your issues.

No. I include the new Version of Manila (Build 1911.1733). This is the new Version, wich came with the new HTC iolite.

Thanks for this information. I try today to fix this bug.
analog Clock Problem was fixed.
I put an other Version of this ROM, who cames with original Manila theme. In this ROM you can put your own Manila theme.
The other ROM, who cames with my costumize theme, I remove the analog clock, so you can't restore the analog clock in this Version.
How do we enable the 3G back from within the registry?

Hi,
go to Setings => Phone => klick the tab "Band" => Change your Network type to WCDMA...thats all. Now you have 3G.
I edit only that this ROM should prefer GSM Network.
Any chance for a german version of this ROM? (I don´t own a Jade but a friend of mine.)
Maybe later, when HTC release the German ROM.

The marketing image of this ROM is with a theme installed for the TF3D (MetalV2). The ROM looks like the standard TF3D when the ROM is installed.
NEW: This is a small maintenance release. I have removed XT9 from it because of problems with the Fn key of the X1 hardware keyboard. The ltje R3AA003 XT9 cab is provided. But it too has issues with the hardware keyboard. With other words: T9 in a stable form will only be provided when Sony Ericssons releases their R3 ROM with a stable XT9 customized for their keyboard. The HTC IME_Engine unfortunately messes up the Fn key.
NEW: Advanced Config now provided as a cab installer due to a missing shortcut in the start menu.

This ROM is built with the ´Xperia Kitchen WM6.1 (21042.1.6.1)" with OEM 2.621 with 2.622 Patch applied. It contains the latest Manilla/TF3D 2 from the HTC "Rhodium".
This ROM was originally planned to be UC capable but I haven´t managed to get a working UC build.
Instead I have used the application "AutoInstall4" by plenTpak of the PPCGeeks forum to create an auto installation system in the ROM. One good thing with this application is the ability to auto install cabs without the need for a hard reset. But when I find a working UC I will add it.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING AUTOINSTALL!
GPSToday for example has some popups during installation. When they pops up the autoinstall stops temporarly. Just click OK on them - the autoinstallation continues fine when it´s done.

INSTALLATION
The device needs Hard-SPL first.
I´m not responsible for problems with Hard-SPL and installations of custom ROMs - this one for example.
The installation procedure is:
1. Copy the KOVSImg.nbh file to the root of your memory card.
2. Shut down your Xperia.
3. Push the vol down button.
4. While holding down the vol down button - push the on/off button and hold down until the bootloader screen shows up (three color screen).
5. Accept flash.
6. When it´s tells you the flash was a success - hold down the left and right softkeys and use the stylus to hold down the soft reset button (in the round hole). Hold down this three buttons until it asks you about hard reset.
7. Slide out the keyboard and press R and when it´s resetted - press the spacebar.
8. You are now set and are ready to use the new ROM.

*AutoInstall4. Simply unzip the attached "AutoInstall4" from the Tools folder to your memory card. Read the attached ReadMe for further information about it.

A notice:
For those who are customizing the Start menu and get messages about "insufficient permissions to move file": in the file manager (Resco Explorer for example) enter Properties and double tap on System to unselect "System". I realized some .lnks can´t be moved because of my decision to flag them as "system" when I made the OEMs for ROM cooking.

The new Kitchen is on it´s way and the new dialer will support video calling. When it´s ready I will update the ROM to 1.2 with video calling support and some changes to the application packages.

Windows Live Panel
It seems the Windows Live application has some problems. Downloaded directly from Microsoft Mobile but there´s problem with log in according to some users. I think it´s better to use Sony Ericsson´s WLM Panel:

Does this support video calling?
Sorry to say, the dialer don´t handle video calls. The only thing to hope for is an updated dialer with that support. When such a thing is released I will update the ROM with it.
I haven´t tried other dialers with the ROM.
A Rom based on the latest builds WOW....if by any mean this one is faster and\or performs better on video playback and youtube (compared to touch it 5.05) am flashing !
weird...no feedback bout ur rom by any user...its either nobody flashed (which i think its impossible)....or ur rom is simply perfect .....in both cases i encourage those who have flashed to share their experience
My experience of it is good. My idea with this ROM is "a ROM as I want it".
It´s fast and effecient and the Rhodium apps works very good. But I´m waiting for the new Kitchen - it will add video calling.
When it´s done I will release an updated version. New Kitchen is awaited today so I´m planning to cook when it´s available.

Notice regarding GPS Today during autoinstall: when it asks for soft reset - click NO. When everything it´s installed the AutoInstall4 will say "autoinstall complete - softreset".
Does quick dialling from people tab work with this dialler? Swapping it for the previour Rhodium dialler the supported 3GVT it wouldn't call the dialler corrrectly.
I will check the dialer and people´s tab and if there´s a problem I will try to add the Rhodium 2G dialer again and in that case have two dialers - Rhoidum 2G and Blackstone 3G.
Edit: I´ve tried the tab and it can´t access the dialer. I will try to cook a ROM with both Rhodium 2G and Blackstone 3G and see if it´s working with two dialers. If not I will create an 1.2 RD (Rhodim Dialer) for those who prefer that one.
I hope a Rhodium Video Dialer will be released soon so the need for the Blackstone version is gone.
Edit: Both Rhodium and Blackstone Dialer can´t coexist during cooking. I will release the 1.2 RD with Rhodium Dialer instead. The current version will be the 1.2 BVD (Blackstone Video Dailer).

I have now cooked the MustangROM 1.2 RD (Rhodium Dialer). Will upload it soon.

Is it possible that you can provide a ROM that uses the ROM Update Utility? This is better rather than autoInstall4 because it is prone to errors. I hope you can make one in your next version.

Yeah that's what I'm referring to. You just need to connect your X1 to your PC, use ROM Update utility, Update your ROM and that's it. All programs are installed in one procedure. No need two steps (Update ROM and AutoInstall). It is just a suggestion specially for newbies like me.
Anyways, you're ROM was great. Keep up the good work and keep it close to perfection You're Good!

Flashing Tutorial for Beginner and Proffesional
Are you beginner?
Before flashing your X1 handled, you should notice that your handled has been hard-SPL. You can check it by entering bootscreen:
To enter bootscreen:
- In "off" status handled, press and hold camera button then continue to press power button
- Release all the buttons when your handled is showing gray screen for seconds. Then rainbow or tricolor screen should appear and show;

To do hard-SPL if your handled's SPL is still in original SPL:
- Connect your handled via ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Centre
- Run X1_HardSPL.exe
- Follow next onscreen instructions
To flash custom ROM:
- Extract the package (CustomRUU.exe and ruu_signed.nbh)
- Connect your handled via ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Centre, *You also can connect via bootscreen
- Run CustomRUU.exe
- Follow next onscreen instructions
* If you can't connect your handled to PC due to unavailable data cable, unsuported OS, etc, you can follow these steps:
- Rename ruu_signed.nbh to kovsimg.nbh
- Copy the renamed file to the root directory of your memory card
- Enter bootscreen and wait till your handled to finish flashing

Are you proffesional?
If you flashed your X1 handled many times, I recommended you to perform Task29.
To perform task29,
- Connect your handled via ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Centre
*You also can connect via bootscreen
- Run Task29
- Follow next onscreen instructions
- While the "black screen" appear, perform "entering bootscreen" maneuver
* Press and hold camera and power button
* If you are late in performing "entering bootscreen" maneuver, try to reset it and try again
- Now you can perform flashing new ROM to your handled

Are hardware keys defined in Nitrogen? Otherwise people will have a hard time figuring out how to control Nitrogen ;-)

Well... finally managed to download the Walkman ROM today, megaupload kept cancelling the download halfway!?
Flashed the rom, first impressions were good.
Then I started Nitrogen to see my skin in action...
went to the key config...
huh? the option is missing!
Turns out the ROM has Nitrogen 1.1 instead of 1.2 which doesn't have the option to config hardware keys so can not be used in combination with the Walkman skin!?
Luckily the Walkman player is uninstallable, so I've attached Nitrogen 1.2 and the skin to fix it (though you'll probably miss the nice Walkman player icon now).

My Review about your ROMs
Since there're many people give their comment, let me tell about my point of view about your ROM:
- Your 'new' Walkman ROM is nice. For performance, I prefer your LV ROM. I think with "real" Walkman Player and with "Black Walkman" theme, I think Walkman Beta ROM is better. Anyway, why don't you also post that LV ROM here?
- XPure ROM is still the good ROM with the best interface. One thing, I miss from XPure is the video playback. Please let me know if the video playback is fixable
- 7Pure is the cheapest way to have a different style for X1 and it's very fast.
Overall, you are the most innovative chef in this forum eventhough I have to say that some of your ROM is not perfect. Others are kinky with HTC Stuffs (no characters among them)
