Try adjbrightness. It lets you set brightness to extremely low levels and it also lets you disable touch key lights.

Your display will always be the main power eater, you cannot change that.
Secondly for our LCD screen even if you use root dim or screen filter the power used will remain the same. Google to see how LCDs work.
Thats the answer that i wanted..

Open adjbrightness. Tap left touchkey. Tap on options and tick 'auto restore' and 'lock screen brightness'. You wont need to restart it.

Just use an app called Keyboard Light Controller and they wont light up anymore
can i use a program to decrese brightness as "screen adjuster" for more battery life or it ll affect the lcd life
I don't know about battery life, but it will decrease the burn in effect.
Sent from some place using the XDA ap.
I use an app called "screen filter" which has been around for years. It WILL NOT save your battery but it saves your eyes and your partners at night in bed and in the morning when the alarm goes of I use it daily.
Is there any way we can reduce the minimum & maximun brightness in rooted phones, by modifying the system files?

Check the build.prop for lcd minimum brightness value. Modify using rom toolbox and check if it work for you.
I was annoyed with the brightness issue. Screen filter solved it. Thanks

A couple of days ago I asked in the Q&A forum if it was possible to disable your physical back home and menu buttons and enable the on screen buttons like on the nexus 4. A guy named: UncleRipper helped me by telling me how to do it, so I want to share it with you guys. But all props to UncleRipper! For an example of how it looks on my phone see the photo below.
So what we want to do is enable the on screen buttons, disable the physical buttons, and stop them from lighting up everytime you touch the screen. I know you can disable this in the settings if you're on lg's software, but I am running cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly.
So first enable the on screen buttons:
open a file manager with root ( Solid Explorer or Root Explorer), go to /system and open build.prop (backup it!!)
add this line at the end of the file build.prop:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
restart your phone.
Now you got the on screen buttons, you want to disable the physical buttons:
Use "button remapper" (search it on google cause isn't on play store) and assign "focus" to home, back and menu buttons.
The app is simple to use and the values to change are last in the list.
After the physical buttons are disabled you want to stop them from lighting up when you touch the sceen:
Prerequisites:
Root
SManager (play store)
SManager widget (play store)
Your phone
this script: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iz6t5eql0w...tkeyscript.zip
First install the app SManager and accept the SU request.
Use a root file browser and move the script from the SD Card your system/etc/init.d folder
Go into SManager and locate the 2 scripts. Click on them and tap the little star button in the top left to make them a favorite. And click the little SU icon while your at it! (optional: click also on run on boot the gear near "su" command)
Add the widget to your home screen, run the script and turn off the display and then turn it back on.
If the physical buttons wernt visible id do this. But i find LMT launcher works great for when a can be bothered doing hand gymnastics to push the back button.

Yep, if the physical buttons went off, it would be good. Could You make it working? ;D
The physical buttons are disabled and they don't light up anymore, so you can't really see them anymore unless you take a really hard look. But hey, it's your choice rather to use it or not! I'm just saying it's possible ;D

Couldn't agree more!
I seem to be having trouble with button remapper. The only option that I'm getting is for the power button and can't seem to access the home, menu, and back keys for some reason. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Open /system/usr/keylayout/touch_dev.kl and remove/comment three lines from the almost end of the file (those with VIRTUAL word). Works, at least on PAC 23.0/CM10.1, not sure if in stock rom will also work. Then use the script from OP to disable lights (I'll try to find simplier way to do it all).
And of course add this:
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
at the end of /system/build.prop
+1 thank you I got it all working now.

hahahahha yes @compacity always problel with the battery life because i change the rom maybe 3 times a week !! and finally when i found a nice and cool one here we are facing troubles so any suggestions Compacity !!
use greenify to control app thats always running, always set brightness (close autobrightness or light sensor) if it got dark theme, use it, amoled doesnt use any led for pure black color. In kernel option, do not OverClock. Close daydream n freezing any app that ur dont use using Titanium Backup (but do this at ur own risk). close any gsync.
thats all, but still, battery saver is not an option.
well.... i see here u enjoy ur fone but please be extra careful when changing or applying any kernel/ROM/tweak.

To add to this (sounds like my daily usage lololololol),
Turn off wifi and 3G when you don't need it, turn off Auto-Sync (its under Data Usage in settings), under Developer Settings tick the long-press back button option (if its there) and the "Don't keep activities) so you at least can be sure that some apps properly close.
You can disable apps under the Apps manager in settings if you don't really want to use Titanium Backup.
Even underclock your kernel if you want and change your governor to conservative or the like, if you don't mind sacrificing performance (although from what I've heard MIUI is pretty solid as is).
But yeah, compacity, sounds like a really good list

or u can use tweak script for auto for force closing app in background n liquidity.
but mr Soryuu, 'tick da Dont Keep Activity' is not recommended, cache quite important in android, if u keep deleting cache background process, it will only drain ur battery n burden da cpu to create it back, eventhough u got more space on RAM, but seriously, RAM is for USAGE, not keep in safebox
