[TWEAK][DooMKernel v20] Real FPS uncap patch [16 Mar] - Xperia Arc Android Development

Since DooMLoRD has enabled debugfs support in his latest kernel, I am able to "uncap" the FPS on our arc. Take note that this is NOT the debug.gr.swapinternal tweak which causes artifacts and tearing. This method disables vertical sync (vsync) and allows the GPU to render faster than the refresh rate of the display. It will also decrease input lag and therefore, a more responsive UI.
Thanks to zdzihu for his findings.

Thanks, don't know why I didn't notice it.
Flashing it now

EDIT:
Mine showed glitches when I scrolled slow, I flashed the recap thing now and it looks fine again.

Our displays have a refresh rate of 60Hz. That means that it can only display correctly up to 60 FPS.
Raising this limit will always cause graphical glitches.
Also, you include a install-recovery.sh in your update package,
meaning that Link2SD will definitely be broken after installation.
You could put the script in init.d instead.
Attached is a zip that doesn't break Link2SD.

It works on stock ICS beta kernel too.

I get a compression error when I downloaded either of the 2. Files came out as encrypted and not zip.

Converting from EXT3 to EXT4 - It's possible (and pretty easy)...

I've just compiled a custom kernel with EXT4, converted my partitions to EXT4 and then flashed a modified boot image with the appropriate mounts.
IT WORKS!

Awesome! I've been thinking about getting this phone, but wanted to check things out first because my contract runs out in June. But seeing how much progress you have made already I couldn't wait, so I called my carrier today. They were willing to delete the early breakage fee next month if I signed a new contract(a cheaper one actually) with the phone on payment. Win win for me
Nice work! I can't wait to get my hands on a vanilla custom rom.
Thanks Paul!

that would be quadrant, it's on the market. btw, this phone scores 2500 without any modification already, so this thing is a beast! Appearantly changing the filesystem to EXT4 is turning it into super beast ;-)
Didn't the Nexus S acheive 4k with a 60% overclock? Jesus christ wait till the overclocks come on this beast....
im betting... 60% overclock with all the tweaks added to boost quadrant, custom roms etc... will result to 6k quadrant score

No 'Gyroscope' or 'Horizontal' calibration options on jellybean.

Does anyone know how to get to these options?
My S Pen isn't showing true in use, showing the hover marker higher than the tip of the pen! so I'm following various guides online, and can't seem to find these options to carry on!
Thanks

For gyroscope goto settings => motions => sensitivity settings => gyroscope calibration
As for the calibration of the s-pen I use this app

Requires root access
Hope this helps

I I have a Lenovo P770. I have flashed 2 custom ROMs. After flashing for the first time I had seen that motion games aren't working properly. I flashed another ROM, but to no avail. This means that probably its a matter of my phone. So I wanna recalibrate the horizontal calibration. Please help

SDSL4 kernel. I don't know if it's faster than last ZoeRom, you should compere it on your own, it's subjective opinion )
I'll upload screenshot with recommended peformance settings to get the best results.

This Rom looks great. I will try this for a few days. I also like your Ligux rom, but only problem in Ligux is playstore problem. In this MokeeOs rom playstore is OK.
Thank you for your good work.

I don't think that you can use this feature, which btw is just a modification of the sistemui.odex, which logically will only work on the stock v20x version.
But I think that almost every rom has this feature, I'm currently using the MIUI rom from MIUIAndroid.com and it has this feature build into the rom itself.
I think that AOKP rom has that too - but not sure which version exactly.
And CM, they don't have this build into their default roms. But, I'm not so sure, I may have seen a mod somewhere which enables this exact same thing.
:fingers-crossed:
So this mod will actually show which network speed? From Wifi or phone Reception?

Yeah, I know that there is another thread in which everything works as you wrote, but I was thinking to myself if this solves the problem of the Internet app not working in the Qslide mode.

Fly-On gives me bootloop on any Gingerbread ROM, but still - I don't think that any of these scripts will help, because CM7 has no lag at all on that box without any script.

Nope, it's happening on every clean stock ROM flashed with odin. I tried DDKQ8, XWKTM and XWKTR. That's not a problem with the launcher, because it's lagging in all applications.
If you're rooted, then edit your build.prop.Look for debug.sf.hw=1 in your build.prop and add a # before it.Dont forget to change permissions, and it MAY give you a white screen instead of bootanimation. But rest will be fine
