[Q] How install ADW Launcher EX - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When i install ADW Laucer EX throught APToide i can't see it on settings.. Why?? How can i do to see it as a CM7?

Maybe u should install the paid version via play

I hace still cree versión and it don't appear con setting.. I can't configure it

That feature only works with non paid ADW and it needs to be the only launcher installed in order to show under system settings, all other launchers, EX included use their own settings menu.

In cm7 adw is a system.and on stock.roms a user app..

What you were seeing in settings was the "ADW Launcher's Settings", Not EX's.
CM removes "ADW Launcher settings" option from Settings as soon as you install ANY other launcher.
PS: I'm using ADW Launcher EX since last ~7 weeks and I find it super awesome.

Adw launcher EX is the best !!!!

[Q] Launcher Pro / ADW launcher help...CM6 RC3

hello there everyone...
i have my nexus one rooted with cyanogen mod 6 rc3 . it comes standard with adw launcher and just recently i have installed launcher pro which i think runs smoother... so wen i run them is there any way to stop adw from running automatically or uninstalling it because it doesnt let me uninstall it. also i think its wasting my memory running in the background for nothing. thankss
Remove it using ADB or Root Explorer.
It should ask you which one you want as default after flashing a new rom. Forget if there is a way to set that after initially done.
When i installed launcher pro at first. It asks me wen i press the home button which to make default. And i set it to launcher but the adw still runs in the background. I ll try root explorer to uninstall to see if that works

ok so i got adw uninstalled... but now does any one know how to change themes and icons and stuff for the homescreens of launcher pro

ADW Launcher by default

I am currently using di11is5.1. My question is after setting ADW as the default launcher can I remove the others. Just want to free up space. I really like ADW over Launcher, Launcher Pro, and TW Launcher. And to clarify I have already set ADW as default and if uninstalling the others will cause problems then I am OK with leaving them.

Yes you can.
How do I go about stripping the other launchers out. I have reflashed and I am now on di11is5.3 in this ROM other than ADW that I have installed is Launcher Pro, Launcher, and TWLauncher. I want to completely remove them. I have tried to use the manage apps in the settings menu. I have also tried TB. TB does seem to do a little but it did not remove Launcher Pro from the switcher menu.
In Settings, Applications, Manage Apps, I usually go to the "All" option. There, I can find any third party launcher apps I installed. Click on the launcher you want to remove, and there should be an "uninstall" option for the app. The uninstall option doesn't seem to be there for Android stock launchers.

Other launchers recommended ?

i always use go launcher ex ~ it's my fave launcher used to use launcher pro but EX just surpasses it by a mile , but all the mods seems to come stocked with launcher pro ... so i would just dl EX app and use it as my default launcher , but then my phones starts to go nuts , apps crashing , lag like heck and many other prob ...so it is because of me using other launcher than the stock killing my phone ? or is my w8 is considered special case? oh by the way why does launcher pro so favoured by many? is it because of it's smoothness?
my verdict = use stock launcher it's a 1000x smoother
Complete launcher : GoLauncher EX
Miui launcher : MIUI Launcher 3.1
Iphone launcher : Espier launcher
Zeam Launcher = Smoothness
Regina Launcher = HD and PRO
Leave a thanks if I helped!
Launcher pro is simple but very smooth.
miui is adw ? wow seen regina it's sexy !! but it is heavy on my w8 ? my phone is lagging so planning to change both the mod and launcher
Try Helauncher, Zeam Launcher and Nemus launcher, they are all light and consume a very little memory

REQ: TWLauncher/Stock launcher

Hey guys, can some one provide info about any Stock launcher (Android stock launcher, not touchwiz) for tab with 5x5 layout OR TouchWiz (4/4.5) launcher modded for tab ?
Tried using the available TouchWiz 4.0 launcher in Themes section, whose version is 2.3.3. But it fails launching.
I am with Overcome 4.1.0 installed. Am too sick of this native TouchWiz interface. Have tried a lot, but haven't found these. If someone can do any help, please...
have you tried ADW EX launcher? i dont believe you can set a different grid size with the stock launcher, but you definately can with ADW, it also allows you to get a close to stock look.
ADW.Launcher is free, ADWLauncher EX is paid, try out ADW.Launcher first and if you like it i suggest you pay for ADWLauncher EX.

But still its simple, brilliant and beautiful.

Which launcher is everyone using?

I used the touch wiz launcher originally, but want to try the google now launcher. But now none of my apps show up. Am I better off starting over from scratch with a factory reset?
Which launcher are you using?
I am using nova.
Assuming you did not disable the TW launcher, go to setting...scroll down to applications and select. When that menu pop up, look to your upper left corner you will see three dots going down...click it. Choose default applications, than you will see the option to choose your default home screen under "set as default".

I like Apex, but it was becoming difficult to tell what themes, icons, launcher would stick. I'd fix one thing and something else would vanish, got tired of that. So I found a theme from the Theme Store and now I can stand looking at Touchwiz!!

The Google launcher works fine as long as you don't set up the secure folder, after that is done all the apps disappear from the app drawer...

I am currently using Nova Launcher Prime. Also have Apex Launcher Pro Installed and running in my Note 7 as just in case.
There are reasons that I am not using TouchWiz UX (Grace) Launcher nor Chrome Now Launcher as you will see below:
Here are a 4 Home Launchers that I didn’t choose to stay with after testing with the Note 7
Google Now Launcher – Way too limited. Didn’t transferred the app icons to the App Drawer. So I can’t even copy the Phone Dialer icon over to the Apps Dock. Disappointed since I was wishing to truly integrate Google vanilla experience to the Note 7.
Go Launcher Z – They only allow you to use their Widgets and no third party Widgets. WHAT!!! No Go! They also are getting into Ads and charging lots to get rid of ads (GO Launcher Super v i p price $19.99 (45% off the full price). Go Launcher Prime is $5.99 which I have.
ADW Launcher 1 (New) – Getting less customized and more Google material style. For an example I like transparent App Drawer. The new ADW Launcher only gives you colors like 90s websites for the background in the App Drawer. I used to love ADW, but they are now going backwards.
TouchWiz UX (Grace) - Very lagging, no default access to Live wallpapers, you can't see some of your icons in landscape mode, etc. I really tried to stay with TouhWiz UX. The one thing that turned me to another home launcher is that I am tired of having to go portrait mode to select apps when I am already in landscape mode.
There are serious enough problems with TouchWiz UX to give good reason for the power user to switch home launchers. TouchWiz UX is lagging, no default access to Live wallpapers, you can't see some of your icons in landscape mode, etc. We can get around that with a custom home launcher like Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher, etc. I found that both Nova Launcher and Apex Launcher doesn't get in the way of Samsung's features. Meaning both of these home launchers allow all Samsung features to work within these launchers on Note 7.
Personally I don’t like "3D" home launchers. Which is the reason I didn’t try them with Note 7.
Recommendation Note:
I recommend trying either Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher. Both worked wonderfully with Note 7 and provide much customization. Nova Launcher is the first one I would try out only because of the third party customization for the Nova Launcher.
I use HomeSmack to switch between home launchers. Works flawlessly with Note 7.

Not sure what you mean by "...can't see all icons in landscape mode...." for Touchwiz. I don't remember Touchwiz rotating to landscape on the home screen. One reason I've not liked it since about donut or was it gingerbread?
Nova Prime here as well.
Nova Prime, but might try AL3 ( Action Launcher ) down the road...
Nova Prime here as well
