if recovery wasnt erased you can take the battery out, put it back in, turn on the phone and when the softkeys start to twinkle(be quick) press power+volDOWN to enter recovery from there flash a new rom, always before flashing remember to wipe data/cache and dalvik cache in recovery.
Try the new Echelon is great and LFD is gonna be updated next week.

i tried both these but i didn't make any resluts please help

Hmmm.... In my opinion its quite unlikely that the tutorial link i posted got no/bad results.
When Smartflash doesnt do the trick (asuming you did it right), well, thats bad
I got bootloops many times but i always saved my phone with the smartflash tool....

Yes, I was on froyo... missed this part when replied.
But I think it could do the job, even if he is on 2.3, well, that's what google shows when I search for "rooting android 2.3".
Am I wrong?

If you have unbrick your ob with v10a, yes you can root with Gingerbreak 1.20.

No, you can NOT root any v20/2.3 software/gingerbread on optimus black with gingerbreak. It only works on froyo, even if it s called GINGERbreak...
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk

method with smartflash tools :
* v10a + apk Gingerbreak
* v20x + flash superuser.zip from cwm

Now let's be honest, this name is really confusing, right? Gingerbreak and only works with Froyo?
Maybe it's this way because by rooting your phone you'll be able to flash Gingerbread? hahaha.
Just sayin'.

can i dual boot?

can i dual boot 2 roms?
Yes and no. The closest thing to it is through an app called bootmanager that installs roms on your SD card which doesn't take long to switch between roms. But you can't truly dual boot off the phones internal storage.

Our device is not supported.
It won't help with trying to get the KU900 V30 to work on our P970 as it doesn't boot. I am not sure how they do this from what I can tell they boot much later by mounting their file image then booting from that. The problem we are facing happens before that, but it does look interesting.
EDIT: Those sizes you are looking for can very easily be found using any terminal emulator or adb shell.

To what extent does can it "emulate" the alternate ROM booting. Can we alter bootargs that are passed to kernel by u-boot. Their website actually tells me very little about how it is actually done.

Just the kernel won't help. We need to alter stuff before the kernel gets initialized and if we make a mistake then we might lose the ability to go into SW Update mode and we can't risk that.
We can easily re-flash kernels as is so that's not the problem.

[Q] Could V20B come back to V10B(Gingerbread to Froyo)

Hello~
I would like to know whether there are any means can turn my V20B HONG KONG ROM to V10B?
For example...the KDZ updater?
I would like to try the ROM if it can come back to Froyo.
Thanks
Don't use kdz, use r&d tools from Ilko in dev section. He gave a complete guide for it.

Yes, I moved from gingerbread 20N 2.3.4 to froyo 10D (due to lack of my language)
Do a factory reset before and after. It's very important
Reset before and after should always do. More stable work.
OK~I See. I will try it when free, thanks a lot

Easiest way to downgrade without waiting a lot for R&D Tool is to use smartflash (from HERE+Tutorial) and have these two files :
LGP970AT-00-V10d-SEA-XXX-AUG-08-2011+0_CP.fls
LGP970AT-00-V10d-SEA-XXX-AUG-08-2011+0_AP.bin
or any version you like from the link below
Flashing firmware : LINK
-Just add this line to the tutorial in V20a thread :Check if Windows Enabler is ON and check "Erase entire CP" before pressing Start.
No need for a connection to internet to reflash your phone.

It is patched with cwm and when the smartflashtool ends and your phone reboots you flash superuser.zip from cwm.but smartflashtool wipes data so any apps you installed won't be there after this procedure.

So isnt it mandatory to root bfre flashing? I mean hw can v flash without rooting??

With smartflashtool you only need to be able to enter software upgrade mode.then the firmware is flashed through the program and when it is done it reboots in cwm.from there you flash the superuser.zip and you have a rooted version.basically smartflash is a quick way to unbrick your phone since it takes some minutes for the whole procedure.except the patched bins that you have to download before which depends on your internet connection speed.

Did you flashed the rom.correctly like wiping all necessary things
now go.back to stock rom through odin and then try that rom again
this time before flashing the rom wipe cache partition , dalvik cache, factory reset formar data , system cache and flash that rom again
i think that will work if not then revert to stock rom and try another rom

I guess that its bricked. Try to download the stock rom from Sam Mobile and flash it via odin. Your phone will be good as new. If you're a newbie, try not to experiment with certain roms and please don't use Rom manager on ace, it would brick your phone...!
