Halo Boot Animation Need help - HD2 Android Themes and Apps

Hey themers need some help!
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
My MLG Halo team have alot of HD2s. We were wondering if someone could make this video a boot animation. Will donate to compensate for their time. Thanks!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPPA9m9UygA

do you want the full clip
also do you want sound? may be a bit difficult to get it with the sound (not attempting the sound)
halfway there
it may be a bit big to be a boot animation

Sorry been busy. I use tosti v.10 band ics and thanks for your hard work! Where can I donate?! I'm going to try this out. And yeah with sound and entire clip would be awesomesauce
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA

Do I install thru cwm or rom tool box
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA

Just navigate to where the boot animation.zip file is in the rom using a file explorer a just replace it... I don't know where it is on tosti v10 most probably in the system media file
NAND OR SD ROM?
if it is magldr then copy the zip file to system/media and rename the bootanimation.zip file that is there first (as a back up incase it doesnt work) and paste the new bootanimation file... you may need to edit the permissions as they are the same as the previous boot animation
dont know if there is a difference with the boot animation folder on a sd rom
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium

Thanks I'll give it a try and its nand

What do I do with the JPGs?

Resize them to the screen size of the phone (480x800 I think) and make the text file for it with the times etc... then make the zip file and put it on the phone in the right section. Ill explain tomorrow when im on the laptop if you don't understand... Ill make diagrams..
Also I use a programme called boot animation creater makes it easier to make and it previews it for you aswell

[Q] Has anyone tried modifying the bootanimation yet?

Hey fellow Optimus 2X fans,
I was wondering if anyone already tried to change the bootanimation by overwriting the bootanimation.zip in the respective directory.
I am considering buying a branded version of the Optimus 2X and aside from the carrier apps the bootanimation would be the only thing that I would need to change to make the branding "invisible".
Cheers
aMpeX
Was thinking about it yesterday, but didnt have the time to do it. The bootanimation.zip is located in the /system/media directory. But when trying to rename it to .bak i'm getting an error. Probably has something todo with the settings. I'll check on it later on this day.
Yes, i did it and its working fine
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Premium App
In general you can put bootanimation.zip in /data/local/. If it will work on 2X I don't know, but just put it there and do 'adb shell bootanimation' to test it.
Still haven't tried it, I'm having trouble removing the original boot animation.zip. But I'll try it with root explorer.

You don't have to remove the original one. The one in /data/local/ has priority.
Besides you should be seriously careful what you do in /system, because there are several ways do destroy your phone at the moment, before we crack it completely.
Ah ok well that's the reason why I haven't tried it yet. I'll try to put it in data local first.
I normally don't remove stuff from the system directory.

Attached is a Honeycomb boot animation, i would say thanks to the people who ripped it out but im not sure who did it :/. Ive replaced the bootanimation.zip in the system\media folder on my Hero using Root Explorer and it works a treat. So might be the same on the 2x? not really too sure on this one....
I think what is most important here, is that the resolution of the animation
after all it's only a text file and some png's
I dunno what resolution the hero has, but i suggest using bootanimations with the native resolution (800 by 480) for the O2X
I got the Motorola Atrix 4g Boot animation if someone is interested

Yeah not sure about the resolution.... but when i downloaded it there was not really a device specific requirement and i seen it was compatible with the Evo which the native resolution is 800 by 480 right?

Installed on my 2X currently running Paul's vanilla ROM - looks great, no issues.
I tried the LGx2 bootanim on sgs I9000 and it works, so it must work the other way around I guess.
Anyone up for some testing? Try some from my stash. Link in sig.
Got a very nice xda bootanim.
I dont mind testing at all. I have the OS2x one at the moment . And i got the atrix one as well as the honeycomb one on storage .
I just wish someone would make a snazzy one with the Tegra 2 logo

I have a branded phone from Swisscom in Switzerland. I have used this app and have changed the bootanimation. http://www.androidpit.de/de/android...uctions.bachanger/Boot-Animation-Changer-LITE
There are some stock bootanimations to choose from. The app is been upgraded all the time and should support sound as well.

There are two versions.
One with intro and loop
One with the whole animation in loop

Files can be found here
Hope you like it. If so, use thank button or donation (I'll appreciate it. LOL)
Both look similar but will go for the second one cheers mate
PS - can i just flash this via CWM?
They are the same. I couldn't decide if I liked the whole animation keep looping or just the final part with the Android text
as a loop

These animations will work on any phone running the latest MiUi build. Have fun and enjoy. If you happen to stumble upon a animation no in the op, please feel free to post a link to it and as soon as i can get a chance i will make it..

Please make sure to re boot twice and let sit for a little to allow the lagg to go away

Bounce Animation (clickme)
Fly In and Flip Animation (clickme)
Twisted Animations (clickme)
Stock Android Animations (clickme)
For those having problem's with their phones not taking the flashables i made
First download the animation you want above.
next your going to want to pull your framework apk from the current rom your using by navigating to system>framework>framekwork.apk, place it on the pc your going to use.
rename the framework.apk to .zip and open with what ever program you use to view zips
Now that you have your stock apk renamed and opend in your zip program navigate to the res>anim folder thats going to be the folder we are going to drop the modifeied xmls in the animation zip you already downloaded
now navigat to animation.zip file you downloaded and also open in your zip program
open the anim folder
copy all of those modified xmls and paste them in your stock anim folder that we left open replace anything it asks you too
now you can close out the custom anmation we wont need it any more
now close out the stock zip as well
navigate to the stock file we just moded and rename it from .zip to .apk
and your done
push the frame work apk to the folder you took it out from and enjoy

Can you also make flashables for the overscroll like on CM7? The glow doesnt fit MIUI, CM7 iphone-like bouncing is way better imo ^^
Would be awesome.

Boot Animations (Taking Requests)

I'm going to start making boot animations and taking requests. If you have a request post it below...
Nook Color Exploding into CM7 Boot Animation:
DOWNLOAD HERE
Nook Color Exploding into CM9 Boot Animation:
DOWNLOAD HERE
To install put the bootanimation.zip in data/local & the next time you reboot it should appear.
Holy s**t that cm7 busting out of the nook logo is just awesome! I only ran it once and then rushed back here to comment. I found it on the thread started by whoever requested it in the first place but happened upon this post before i could navigate to the original thread.
Too goddamn cool, really! I only tried it because i thought it was so weak that the guy begged for it over a couple months time, and then ducked out without really thanking you or giving you any feedback.
I have had the animation disabled for forever, it is not something i ever cared about, but that is just great. It was a little choppy, but i have just loaded it the one time. Too cool, man. I'm gonna go watch it again...
Edit: i just saw you didn't put a link to your own work in the post! Let me help everyone out here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?y4qtm4bauhhc3ly
Let me be clear. This is bcvictory's work! He is just shy.
Thanks! This is great. I had to figure out where to place the bootanimation.zip and I can't remember right now. I'll update if nobody beats me on the procedure for changing the boot animation.
EDIT: Using Root Browser (app you use is your choice of course). I put the bootanimation.zip in /system/media/
Make sure to backup or rename to bootanimation.bak the original file in case you want to go back to the original bootanimation.

Sorry, I have been busy since posting the OP I'll update it soon..
If you put the new animation zip in data/local instead of system/media it works as well and you don't have to worry about renaming or losing the original animation.
Files put in data/local simply preempt the stock system files. It is there for the express purpose of customization. Just drop it in and reboot. The ROM does the rest. If you want to return to the original just delete it, and it automatically reverts to the original.
I put it both places first and that's just the one I removed first so I figured it wasn't necessary. Your way is definitely better.

The link for this awesome sounding boot animation is dead. If anyone has it and could point me in the right direction of where to get it, I would be most appreciative.
Thanks, Rick
It is. It is awesome.
I have it on a nandroid, I'm pretty sure.
This is a test bump, though. I don't want to restore a bunch of backups to find it for you if you aren't still looking or if someone else has it anywhere more readily available.
Anyone?
I'm away from my computer at the moment but I'll look for it when I am home. Thinking about doing a similar thing for CM9.

Thanks leap. I should have known somebody'd gone ahead and ended that inconvenience.
Jeez, having that on device has endless advantages, if you think about it. Very cool.
And a cm9 version would be very welcome. I haven't ever cared about animations before or since, but this was cool.
Edit: and...it won't save any files to my sdcard. Unknown reason. The amount of time I spent on this I should have just restored the backup. It also won't successfully email an attachment it upload to the cloud, before you ask.
If bcvictory can't find it, I will restore and post it tomorrow. Not really interested in fixing or learning the app at this moment.

It is because the bootanimation.zip is not an ordinary zip. You need to include it in another zip or rar. I use rar to avoid confusion with install zips when I do attachments.
