I dont think ive seen this before!! Please check this out and help

hey guys, i am not new to the scene but i have actually run into a big problem.
A few minutes ago i flashed a Hero rom followed by the ebi1 kernel, it booted up perfectly fine and went into installation, still no problems.
Once installation finished i learned that for some reason the home app(launcher) doesn't load, it just constantly gives an error force close when trying to go to the home.
Everything else does work.
I then decided to reflash the ROM, when booting my phone it would not go into recovery, i held the home button and it froze at rogers logo,
I tried again after a battery pull and same result, i thought uh oh, BRICK!
When i rebooted again( holding nothing down ) I learned that it apparently does boot! if i leave it alone, it does the whole buttons light up screen dims thing just before it boots, then the screen dies off and I hear a sound meaning usb connected, **(all this while it is still showing the second boot screen)**
The end button works to turn screen off and on but it it stuck at the second (MLGIN or whatever nexus style boot screen)
I nave now found a way to actually get past the boot screen, if i call the phone it will go into the dialer and I can actually use it as a phone!!, once in like this I can actually use the phone completely except for going to launcher(home), I can make calls (if someone calls me to get into the dialer), use the lockscreen, send a message (if someone sends one to me), enable usb mount.
I have a nandroid and a BART saved but like I said i cannot get into recovery.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Please let me know if my post doesnt make any sense, i can try and get my thoughts out again!
EDIT I CAN get Droid explorer to work, this means i can install any apps that could help! but i dont think i could launch them
-with droid explorer i can use terminal, cant i launch stuff with that? also, when i click Bart manager it says i need to buy a license, aww
- I clicked on reboot into recovery in droid manager, the phone rebooted but it hung at the rogers logo, I really cant understand how the recovery doesn't work!
EDIT it WILL boot into fastboot mode!

Can i install an alternate launcher with droid explorer, I think that if i can do this, when i hit home it will give me the option of choosing which laucher right? i then choose the new one.
Any one know where to get a different launcher? or perhaps the launcher from this ROM so i can try and reinstall it
Because i can use droid explorer, the options are nice,
I still need help organising the above attempt, but if that fails I could also use the flash recovery image option in DE and try that.
Am i right in saying that I should first try and get a different launcher to work or should i go straight for the recovery. If the recovery doesnt wokr could I lose access to the phone booting? (thus droid explorer)

OK I would LOVE some community help here:
I think i wave 3 options
1) install any apk (namely a new launcher and get the phone to atleast function properly)
2) Re flash a recovery image
3) Flash a ROM
All of these would be done with droid explorer, i think i have listed them from least risky to most risky (if i flash ROM and that doesn't fix it i could be out of droid explorer)
Could you guys help me start up, where can i get what, my mind is racing too much!!!

ok, using droid explorer i re flashed the recovery, it now boots into recovery. i am going to reflash the hero rom as i really want to use it!

I am in a great panic mode.
I applied this lagfix : forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7587405&postcount=417 and since I did it I cannot use my phone.
I am not able to start my phone. It shows me Galaxy S logo, and after that I hear the start up music but nothing on the screen (no animation). Pressing hardkeys does not do anything either.
Above all I cannot even enter my recovery mode. When I press volumedown+poweron button, the screen keeps showing me Galaxy S logo and it does not go any further.
Please help me if you know how to getaround.

Were you rooted when yoou applied update.zip?
Anyway,did you try to shutdown the phone removing battery,and then try entering recovery?

the fix did not mention I had to root my phone, it said it would self install.
Yes I did shut down after removing the battery, and then I am trying to get into recovery using volumedown+poweron button but I am not able to get into it. All I see is Galaxy logo and hear start up music after that with nothing on screen.

OK, I am able to get into recovery mode.. I was trying wrong combinations
Now what should I select I get these options:
1. reboot system now
2. apply sdcard:update.zip (will never do this again)
3. wipe data/factory reset (should I do this)
4. wipe cache partition

yes.. you should do 3.) wipe data. If that doesnt solve your problem, you need to flash firmware agian

Why did you choose to install something not on main page, something obviosuly not very tested and something 2 month old (god knows there are close to ten newer or more tested fixes).
If you can access download mode, than reflash. If not... Well, try the exotic methods (dont know them, as I have working 3 butons)

Hey, for a second I thought it did noy fix my problem as I did not get my animation screen and ony heard music.. But then suddenly it starts up
I think I lost my animation on start up though
I still see that MCR Scripts icon on app loader screen, How could I know if its enabled or disabled?

I regret doing something like that.. But it was really confusing as there are so many topics on the forum and I was really tempted to solve the lag issue I started facing recently (I installed too many apps).

hey i have the same problem.. my phone goes up into the Samsung logo and hangs there forever, occasionally blinking and making a weird vibration. i've tried factory reset but that doesn't help..
How do i flash firmware again?

reflash the rom by odin will solve the problem
make sure your kenel is speedmod if u updated the rom from your sdcad，
enter into recovery ，do the wipe then updated ，disable all lagix ，all this work done u could updated the rom

Cyanogenmod7 Boot Loop After Supercharge

Hi All,
I have been running Cyanogenmod 7 on my Milestone for a while. I recently tried out the Supercharger and upon reboot, I'm getting a bootloop. When it boots, I get to the Cyanogenmod7 boot logo, eventually I hear the camera focusing but the logo is still there. If I put it on the dock, it kicks it out of the boot screen and lets me into the phone (phew). If I push where the unlock button is on the screen, I can hear it sliding unlocked but again, nothing. Anyone know what happened? I don't really want to flash it back to stock as I have it all setup nicely. Also, I even "unsupercharged" it and it still is doing this. Right now, I'm able to use my phone since I have the dock but if it randomly reboots, I will be in trouble .

Do a Nandroid Backup via OpenRecovery.
Flash it back to Stock.
And restore the important things (not the whole system).

I ended up just backing up what I needed and flashing HO!NO! Only problem is that I can't seem to get the settings to stick on reboot.

[Q] Fixable? Startup/Clockwork is "broken"

Hello XDA,
For quite some time now I'm experiencing a rather irritating bug on my Galaxy S.
I have no idea on how I got this error, I just did. It pretty much showed up randomly.
When I start-up my phone I get a few weird screens, it looks like my phone is broken. The screens look like a mix of all possible colors the screen can produce, it looks like an ugly, digital rainbow (Currently charging my digital camera so I can provide a picture).
After the weird displays, the Darky's ROM intro pops up and everything goes perfect, I don't experience any problems whatsoever.
I now want to install a different ROM or Kernel but I have no idea on how since I cant go into the clockwork thing, it gives a weird screen like when starting up so I can't see anything properly.
I do however have the ability to connect through USB, any idea's?

Try to install ROM manager (from market) and try to flash new CWM.

Thats the message I get when I try to do that :/
EDIT: hah, I think I tried the wrong option, I now picked "Install custom ROM" which made me select the zip and then boot into clockwork mode.
The clockwork mode thing is responding to what I enter (when the rainbow screen comes I need to press the power button to go to cancel all and boot up the phone)

Hmmm. I would probably reflash with odin. But never actually heard about your problem, so don't take my advice and wait for someone more skilled ;-)
Edit: So the CWM is working?

No, the problem is that when I try to "Install a ROM from SD Card"
it boots into ClockWorkMod and I have no idea on what to press, I'm pretty sure the clockworkmod is actually live, its the the screen thats ****ed.
This is what I see...

You probably don't have the gingerbread bootloaders, right? If so, that's the cause for these graphical glitches..
Also, don't use the ROM manager to flash a CWM or anything..it doesn't work properly on the SGS..

Yes that could be it, I think I got this thing since I updated to a later Darky ROM, a gingerbread one.
Any way to fix it?
HAH, just downgraded to stock rom/kernel then installed new ones.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S 4g Boot Loop without CWM

Ok, I am new to these forms and kind of a noob android user so please make it as simple as possible.
So, I rooted my phone but i never have messed with roms or kernels or anything (mostly because i dont understand them) so everything is stock (gingerbread 2.6 i believe). I was following an online guide to change the boot animation via root explorer and now my phone only shows the word "android" with the shine going through it. The weird thing is, I can turn on the phone and get to the homescreen, but I am not able to see anything except the boot screen. For example, when i turn it on, I am able to turn it off by pressing power then blindly searching for the turn off button on-screen.
I have searched long and hard for a solution, but they were all caused by uploading a CWM roms that went bad, but I didnt do that. I did have it at one point just to backup my rom because everyone said that it was important. So I do have a CWM backup, but no CWM app on my phone. I am able to get to recovery mode.
