Guys i just flashed cm7 r.c 5.6 and having a huge battery issue, my battery is draining drastically, within like half an hour it goes to 25% from 100%
P.s i have installed one stock app i.e Task manager and rest all app are installed from market as usual.
Is it a basic ROM bug/problem or should i wipe my phone once?
in my opinion, last release is better. it has more features.
but, yes, also have some bugs.
open cyanogenmod settings -> performance -> spare parts -> battery information.
when charge your phone, see the battery information. make sure its showing 'Full' instead of 'Charging'.
Did you also install the first update for the version 5.6???
The download for it is below the ROM download. That was supposed to correct this issue.

Reading the Mosaic III Q&A I see that Maps will give you problems if you let it update so they say to freeze it with TiBu.
Is this common across all Gingerbread ROMs?
Which version of Maps should we be running for Gingerbread ROMs? (can you upload the apk? or a link to one?)
thanks.

As of now, this is a known issue on all the GB Rom for captivate. You should use the map that comes bundled with all the GB roms.
Now coming to the issue part. If you update the map and use it, then Android OS will start squeezing battery juice a lot faster. Normally Android OS should not be using battery a lot, say something like 8-10% in 24 hours period (that's what I usually get with moderate to high use).

When I flashed to Continuum5.4.1 it left all my apps in place (something I haven't seen before... ) so I'm not sure if I'm on the right Maps version or not...
my version is: 5.4.0

5.4.0 is the current updated version. I'm on 5.2.1 and don't have the update battery bug.

I can see the option under Manage Applications to uninstall updates. I could try that I guess but not sure how far back that will take me. Is there a thread that helps resolve this? (I'm looking)

Could you post your map version? Only backup I can find is 5.4.0
I guess since I'm no linked to the market it means I'm running from my own backup (v5.4.0) and I can't do the uninstall updates... right now I'm seeing decent battery life though... but I haven't used Maps today.
Does anyone know if the app "Captivate Keep Alive" is compatible with ICS?
I had been using it, but since I upgraded to ICS, it launches and shows the icon in the status bar, but only shows it initially in running services, then still in status bar, but soon after doesn't show it in running services, no battery drain (apparently it's stopped) and won't close, have to force stop to get it out of the status bar.
Tried to find on the Dev site, App Brain, etc. any documentation, but can't find anything about compatibility with ICS
Unfortunately my phone suffers the random shut downs, especially at high battery levels, when idle.
Thanks
Ive heard of it not working before with ICS based ROMS. But specifically im talking about the Team ICSSGS ROM. So first, you need to tell us what kernel you are running and what ROM. Because I switched to the Glitch new build 2 days ago and have yet to suffer a random shutdown or charge death which I got almost daily with the old build. We will see if this lasts though.

Thanks,
running Doc's Master ICS V5 with the included kernel Glitch V14-B5 Kernel
I also wasn't having any shutdowns, and thought maybe it was solved with this ROM/kernel, but then had an overnight shutdown about a week ago, but still overall probably better, because when I get up in the morning and see that captivate Keep Alive stopped, and battery is at over 80% and didn't shut down, so looking better, except that one shutdown.
Ok, B5 just had a new release a few days ago but for some reason the dev didnt change the title or update the thread. He just made a post about it. I just want to be sure, are you running the kernel I have linked in this post? It was just posted 2 days ago.

Haven't updated to the most recent version, still the version that came with the ROM, which I downloaded maybe 2 weeks ago. Didn't see the kernel was updated, now wondering if I should consider updating the kernel to the newer version, notice he indicates Nandroid backup should work, which is nice.
Edit: not clear if the other version is the right one for my ROM, maybe should stick with the version I have.
Edit 2: I guess that's the only glitch kernel, as you mentioned he hasn't updated the title/name inn a while (on my phone the version from 2 weeks ago shows V5)

I would. Thats the kernel I am running and have found it more stable than the older release. Its a simple download and flash through CWM.
EDIT: If you are currently running ICY Glitch, then an update will not effect anything. If you are currently running another kernel then you will need to check first. Post in the Q and A for your ROM.

Thanks, I'm seeing that, just not as clear without the updates to the version number, etc. Will do.

i used the version you can download on cyanogenmod website and installed it normally via cwm (with full wipe and everything)
i never touched anything related to bootloaders (just used the standard one i guess...)
Did you use stock CM kernel?
I didn't tried the latest cm nightly, but cm kernel has a weird bug causing the CPU to stick at 1000mgz all the time.
Use some apps to see for yourself, cpu spy.
I use trikster mod app to properly set the cpu.
And I recommend avatar rom, it is like CM but has a suport/option for miui themes.
Rom is super smooth and has god memory menagement/multitasking, even the stock clock alarm hasn't failed me.
Sure it has all the known CM bugs like panorama not working, same kernel bug, ect. but it's stable.

So i'm seeking for the less buggy rom for my phone, less battery drain any proposal? Rom must integrate French langage
Huge thanks for help
What's your battery drain? Some screen shots to see what’s draining?'
See attached screenshot.
Thanks
I can't see the battery graph, so i'm not sure if you charged it, but
27 hrs uptime and down only by 33%....How is that bad?
Here is the graph.
Thanks

I also faced same problem before, tried different kernels, Cyanogen Mods but nothing helped then I tried MIUI which is the best ROM so far. Very battery friendly. You can download ROM from here - http://www.miui.com/getrom.php, LG Optimus 4XHD is listed as LG P880. It comes without Gapps so you have to install each app manually (as I did). For play store install it as system app or you can not download app from play store from browser. ROM comes with 3 languages English, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional). You may find other language patch here (I hope) - http://xiaomi.eu/community/categories/miui-multi-language-project.81/
there's miui gapps, no need to install th e packages manually....
anyhow even if ou recharged a bit the drain doesn't seem so bad..
Ideal consumption in this phone is about 1%/hr when idle, check if your consumption matches that
Also you can install better battery stats from android apps and check in detail what's draining your power

Hi,
I was on stock jb rom with philz kernel had used sweet rom v10 for about 2 weeks flashed some crt off animation zip file...went into bootloop..so went back to stock jb rom indian version DDLSC via pc odin and download mode on phone ..
following this i have noticed that charging times are considerably prolonged.
Flashed the rom 6 days ago and time taken for an average full charge is close to 6 hours.Previously this used to be 4 hours.
im still on philz kernel and rooted.
Any idea how to fix this?
check for wakelocks.. uninstall unwanted stuff, use rom toolbox pro to stop unnecessary apps at boot.
