Lol, it's simple: noone cares about v20B anymore cause everybody who wants to have a rooted system, simply flashes redy's or other repacks of my howsoever-rooted version and is happy with it. Why aren't you, too?
U always moarn about the root... IT happend, I WAS LUCKY, maybe I am just a LG developer... however, take it as it is, anyone will soon bring out a rooting method, by another exploit and everybody will life happily ever after
Hope anybody can confirm that root was possible then

crying, because I am using HongKong version, V20B now. No root makes my battery draining very fast.
If they had, They already released ICS...
Just sayin'

Why downgrade? what about flashing rooted v20n immediately?
because rooted v20N is not in KDZ format but in backup version of CWM or in zip version.
So CWM is mandatory to flash rooted v20N.
And Root is mandatory to install CWM !

Or use V20B unrooted or use reddies V20N rooted. Tht's your choice at the moment in terms of GB... there is no other option currently!

My package is still having completed LG app, so it still having "bloatware". Or you can use any other repackage based from mine that already removed that things. The reason of V20B still having bloatware, is because it hasn't rooted yet. And to remove any bloatware is mandatory to have it rooted.

hey no expert here but i will have to agree as th only way to root v21b for o3d was to make hybrids of it with v21a and if you consider the fact that we have more devs and more time with the fw in our hands i'd say it is a hybrid of all the gb versions (leaked etc). of course this is not bad as long as you have a working rom with the latest features, but admitting to it won't hurt. you'd still get the thanks meter up...
There is a very simple way to check: get the md5sum of all files from the backup nooby made and compare to the md5sum of the files from V20N. Case closed.
NO~ This thread won't be closed until the root of V20B is rolled out.

Who said anything about closing the thread? I was talking about all the whining about nooby's backup being fake and all. Please try to read for comprehension next time.
And since you brought up the subject of this thread, how is the title "I think LG has the best&superior programmers which are invincible !" in any way related to the rooting of V20B? Couldn't you have picked a better title?

Well then, it's simple, DON'T USE IT!

Hi everyone,
I have the p970h in Costa Rica, and my current software version is V10c. I looked at this page (a page I can't post cause I'm a newbie) that there is V20a for my country, so I tried to get it through the official software updater. When I connect the phone, it does tell me there is an actualization, it goes through all the process and does the update. But, when I check the software, it's still on v10c. And, if I connect the phone, it tells me again that I should update my phone...
Is it normal?
All I want is to get the GB, for battery and speed purposes. I have read the other ways you have posted to do this; but as far as I read in the smartflash thread, the V20x patches there are are intended for lgp970, not p970h, and that can get some troubles, as far as I understood.
My phone is not rooted, and I'd really like to get the update using the program, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. I even tried to fake my country (Mexico, Spain, Germany...) thinking it would do any difference, but nothing.
thank you very much

Thank you, but the roms you posted there are intended for other countries. Isn't there a risk flashing them? Besides, my phone is p970h, don't know if that's all right.
Tell me your country and what v20 firmware you want for p970h (a,b,c ,etc) i'll be happy to help you make one(its specific for p970h , don't worry !)

I live in Costa Rica (which is, if you don't know, located at Central America). I saw there is V20a for my region, but it says it's for Telefónica. Anyways, I want the most reliable version, don't know wich is, and an easy rootable one, because I've listened there are some troubles rooting V20x (Just in case I would need to)
Again, thank you very much.

Rooting is easy. First extract the kdz file into bin and fls (find extract tool in dev section) then inject cwm with a dd command in linux/ubuntu. Then flash superuser.zip and you re done ;-)

Hi there! I'm from Brazil and my device is the P970h too. I'm using Zeus v6.22 V20N Europe Open and I got NO PROBLEM AT ALL. You don't have to worry about different versions of ROMs. Install it and BE HAPPY!!!
Can anyone tell me how to root a P970 V20T? I have searched the forums and can't find a guide for anything beyond the V20S. Either a step by step guide, or a link to a post that is already in place would be great. I have tried following some of the guides for the earlier versions without success.
If it helps the phone was bought network free for use in the UK.

Look into my noob how to. You have to patch the bin/fls files. Assuming you have a kdz file, first extract it, patch with cwm, flash via smartflashtool, in recovery flash superuser.zip, reboot, done

Nice reply - not - and I asked as I am not psychic. Your Gingerbread (v20x) link goes to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480392
You then have a list of instructions which end with 'Dont exactly kno, what it does, but as far as I get it, it roots the device and installs CWM touch. Credits go to poster, if it is successful. '
I would hardly describe this as 'your work', you hadn't even bothered to verify it before stealing it without having the courtesy of naming the original poster, so perhaps you should also take care about who you label lazy.
Another point is that there are 2 options on the list, namely the link above and the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456274
The first points to v20x and the second points to v20* which to me would essentially be the same thing, hence asking which I should follow. That is being sensible - shame someone who happily takes credit for other peoples work is so shallow as to be unaware of how poorly they have laid out the links they have ripped off.

Hey if you feel like writting your own how to... just go ahead. I just tried to be nice to newcomers like you and put together mist of the necessary information in one place. If you think, you can write a better, nicer, more complete one, I surely wont be the one person, that stoos you from doing so. I know how many hours I ve spent on writting it. If you dont like what you see... try to turn your head in another direction maybe.
