I'm using GDX v.23b with Google Play Store 3.4.7.
Is there a way to "force" an automatic update to a newer version? Or is 3.4.7 still the latest version for the X8?
I'm confused because I know there is a newer version (3.5.15) out there, but I don't know if there are different versions for different hardware platforms.
Should update to 3.5.15 by itself (at least it did for me on v023b)
Well, it should do, but it does not on my X8, that's why I'm asking.
Maybe some configuration I missed or messed up?
You can always download it and install it yourself..
Now I updated the apk manually an everything looks good.
Some things still remain a mystery.

Hello everyone! I have stupid question: Is there any way to update via android market applications that are not installed from the market? I am sure many of you out there have outdated apks that needs to be updated. So you install an apk and if it is outdated, market app should find it and update with the latest version existing in the market
Like i said maybe a stupid question
If an app is on the market then it will update .If its not from the market then it will not update unless updating is built into the app .

You may need to go into Settings -> Applications and find the Market and do a "force close" and then a "clear data".
The next time you open up the market it should rebuild the list of 'installed apps'.

Download the apk, install it. Avoid play store, it's going pointless crap errors. As for the second part. I heard that Broadcomm released some drivers, so there is a chance, but I might be wrong, or even if I'm not, it can take quite some time to start working with them.

Not working, tried whith single APK latest version and also with GB Google apps from goo.im
I am on the 6.11.10 en build, rooted. Netflix app works fine and it's the latest version but for some reason I have no option to download for offline viewing. Is there an easy way to fix this? Anyone else having this problem?
Could this be a location based problem? Downloads is US only right now, I think. Check your location and see if that is the issue
I am located in the U.S. My Locale is also set to english/ US Really not sure why it's not working for me.
Had same problem. Switching to EU rom fixed it.
I'm on the EU rom.... Which one are you referring to?
I'm on the latest rom from xiaomi.eu and I'm able to download movies.
I'm now on 6.12.8 but when I first switched from the official stable to the earlier EU version it fixed it. It also fixed the problem with Google Play movies not playing.
Got it to work without changing roms. I wiped data and uninstalled the app then reinstalled from the play store and it worked just fine. Guess it had something to do with restoring from titanium.
Netflix download is only available for certain devices. Currently not all android units are supported. See Netflix blog
