I'v been installed clockworkmod from rom manager, but when i select the recovery reboot option, it does not reboot, HELP!
Did you root your phone already and install superuser? And also install busybox.
If the reboot recovery is the problem, then just install AnReboot then select Recovery

Just tried it, but it does not reboot
ROOTED? SUPERUSER INSTALLED? BUSYBOX INSTALLED? then install CWM again and try to reboot again.
access to recovery via turning on phone
hi guys,
I have a little problem with my optimus black:
I have the rooted v20o and rommanager+cwm recovery (touch)
I can access into recovery by selecting rommanager on the phone and using "reboot into recovery" option. This is working, no probs.
But
when I'm turning off the phone and turning on, I cannot reach the recovery by repeatedly pushing hw buttons when the lg logo appears
I have tried all buttons, conbine them, but nothing works.
Is there an option in rommanager I forgot to check or...do you have any idea?
Thanks in advance!

For accessing recovery by hw buttons you need to have eRecovery or gRecovery..
Looks like you are using stock rom which does not allow to reboot to recovery using hw buttons.
Try the other custom roms like zeus or flash e recovery from the thread in development section..

What link are you talking about here...?? The link I posted is for a zip file download. You will have to flash that zip with your current cwm by selecting the option of "install zip from sdcard".
The zip you downloaded will not install cwm but will modify your pvrsrvinit file so that it will allow booting to recovery when you repeatedly press g button when the leds are flashing... I hope you get what I am trying to say...
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4629711/zeus/huexxx-eRecovery-V20N.zip
Now flash this zip through cwm recovery mode. Its for V20N but most probably will work for your base too. If it does not then pm heuxxx.

I was running Ginervolt 2.0 on ZV7. I chose to install the Stock ZV8 rom using LGNPST. It eventually installed ok. Afterward it successfully installed the ZV9 Rom from the Big Red Mothership. I used @dexter35803 's VZ8/9 Root utility to root the rom and it worked. SU is installed and is allowing root access to cachemate and RomManager. However, I am not able to install Clockwork Mod.
I used Easy V8 to install CWM. it reported access denied.
I tried to install CWM using the one click method and it reported access denied errors.
My attempt to confirm CWM recovery was to use
Code:
ADB Reboot Recovery
from the command prompt to force it to boot into recovery.
That resulted in the LG Boot logo, followed by a black screen.
I used the PWR + VOL Down button to gain access to CWM, it proceded to wipe the user data like the stock recovery,
Lastly I used RomManager to install Clockwork. It succeeded in gaining root access via SU, and proceed to reboot. Now it's Stuck @ the LG Boot logo.
After waiting 5 minutes I pulled the battery. Now if I use PWR + vol down, it will wipe the user data, but again hang at the LG boot Logo.
What should I do?

use root explorer and go into system/etc/ and delete the file called install-recovery.sh
The reason why you aren't getting clockwork recovery to work is because the install-recovery.sh is a shell script designed to over write any recovery back to stock recovery on each boot. So when you run the cwr tools and the phone reboots the script immediately erases what you just did. So deleting this file before you run the tool will allow the tool to install a perminant cwr
then run V8 all in one root plus cwr here https://www.dropbox.com/s/l1090uvf1iw3jux/V8%20All%20In%20One%20-%20Root%20and%20CWM.zip
and choose install root and cwr options and viola
+1 on removing the script.
But before all that your going to need to flash the v8.tot in emergency download mode, use the test mode fix, update, use the v8 aio, and hope you have a nice day. if cwm doesn't stick then try removing the script described above and rerunning the aio smile and have a brewski for your time and trouble.

You should really read his second to last little paragraph. He used Rom Manager to install CWM when it's not supported for the phone. So now he'd have to install ZV8 through LGNPST to have a working phone again. Also, This should really be in General instead of Development.
Where should I start?
With the Phone @ the LG Boot Logo screen, the LGNPST windows application will not recognize the phone nor will ADB.
Update, found something
1. pull battery
2. pull USB
3. hold [PWR] + [vol Up]
4. Plug in USB
5. Wait for display to flash and read "Downloads in progress. Do not Disconnect cable. "
But this only lets me update the phonebook, not flash a rom or use ADB. what now?
When you select the phonebook file to flash, use the instructions on selecting the v8.tot. It'll flash everything, not just the phonebook.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't cwm not available for v9? So going higher than v8 is useless until the way to install cwm is figured out, besides I don't remember seeing any posting that there said that there is a custom ROM for v9 yet.

able to flash rom
I found an old machine in the basement today with Windows XP installed Nativity on the machine. I was using an XP VM for this. I was able to use LGNPST to successfully flash the TOT files while the phone working. I was not able to flash after bricking it.
Now with a native XP machine, I am able to flash the rom.
Sorry all for the noob-ism. Its been a long weekend here.
Also, is there no CWM for ZV9? How would I find out? I thought there would be a Sticky for that.

test mode fix
I found the thread on
Code:
[URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26737282#post26737282"]Test Mode Fix[/URL]
But it just crashes in XP native. Any thoughts? I have installed DotNet 3.5 Framework, but that doesn't seem to work.
Well, I found the zv4 TOT rom that I could download from. (most of them now only let the owner re-download.)
I flashed it with LGNPST. So with this FroYo rom, it no longer reported to be in Test Mode, when plugging in a USB cable. However, it also would not update through
Code:
Settings Menu --> About Phone --> Software Update --> Check New.
I used LGNPST again to flash the ZV7 rom over ZV4. However the phone again reports being it test mode @ startup and when plugging in to a PC.
I hope the VZW store can fix this, i am all out of ideas.
I would try the test mode fix on another computer first. Test mode is an obvious sign you did something you weren't supposed to do
You may have to run it a couple of times for it to fix test mode. You'll know when it works, after reboot you will see USB icons in the notification bar.

How do i install cwm recovery (rom manager) so that i can boot in recovery mode? I installed flash recovery but had no changes.if i use the power button when phone is on, cwm is not in the list.
My phone is already rooted!
I'm not sure what you meen. You need root for rom manager to install cwm.
If you're rooted already just pick your model in rom manager and it will install cwm for you.

For touch version through rom manager you need premium licence I think.
You can download their *.img from cwm site, rename it to recovery.img, put it on your external sd and flash it to recovery with "dd" command in terminal.
"su"
"dd if=/storage/extSdCard/recovery.img of=dev/block/mmcblk0p21"
Make sure you get the digits in the end right or else you might not be able to boot again.
I cant find the thread.if i search i get tons of threads.maybe you have a link?

[HOW-TO] Enable Three Button Combo [RECOVERY]
I also made a cwm flashable .zip with cwm-touch 6.0.2.7
Just flash it in cwm or twrp. Enjoy.
I downloaded from my phone.now i open it and it ask if i wanna open with 7zip or rom pre-install.i used rom pre-install.it ask boot and install.use that one? Or first extract?
reboot and install.
alright,i charge my phone battery first and then i go for it
what if i check; wipe data and cache on,what will happen?do u recommend?because if i go to battery,i see 2 android proces running
Yeah do that. Never flash with a bad battery
Nothing needs to be wiped for a recovery flash.
Wipe data will make a factory reset and wipe all your apps and user data, so dont.
You can wipe cache and dalvik cache without loosing anything. Cache rebuilds itself, but first boot takes a very long time..be patient.
thanks bro.
do you know why my battery shows 2 android processors running? (phone settings>battery) i get this list:
Internet
Android system
Android system
mediaserver
rom manager
mobile standby
so whats up with the 2 android systems?

Thats an extended power menu. You won't find it in stock rom.
Reboot recovery from rom manager or use vol+/home/power combination.
alright,i will try that a other time.thanks again!!
My home button had stopped working, but for the warranty I think I should remove CWM and root. but is there any possibility to boot into download mode and into cwm to do the procedure with triangle away unroot and so on...?
You can give it a try with Rom Manager you can download it from the google play that app let you reboot into recovery without the 3 button combo.

This might work Best I could come up with right now.
1. Use triangle away if needed.
3. Use terminal emulator, type:
su
reboot recovery
4. Flash stock recovery in CWM and reboot.
5. Use terminal emulator:
su
reboot download
6. Flash stock rom in odin.
7. Make factory reset in settings.
8. Reboot and make sure it's unrooted. If not, open supersu app and make full unroot from it's settings.
9. Reboot and check root and systemstatus.

I think of installing stock jellybean with ODIN and use a custon kernel through DD command method, but I don't know how to root without using the recovery. Any other solutions? Is there a way to install TWRP directly on cyanogenmod 10.2? Why goo manager doesen't work? Rom manager do the same thing, instead of flashing my rom, it reboots in recovery. Please help me, i'm desperate. Basicaly I want to install ROMs or TWRP recovery WITHOUT USING THE VOLUME BUTTON.

I think that we do not have any CM kernel that has TWRP. And you can't install separately recovery from kernel. Maybe you can do this, install CM11 kernel - it has touch CWM. When you swipe up it goes up, when you swipe down... But you must be carefull, and to get 100% working CM11 zip in your recovery, to avoid getting a bootloop. Unpack it on PC and see if zip of it is not broken,
You can install CM11 kernel by getting it from CM11 zip, copy it to the phone and use Universal Kernel Flasher from Play store. After installing it I think that you can't go back to CM10.2 anymore, you will end up with a bootloop. So you must install CM11. And another thing, I am not sure if reboot recovery works well, you will end up with nothing if it does not. So do everything at your risk, do not blame me if you fail...
We do not have working ROM manager or similar thing.

So I should unpack the CM11 zip and flash the kernel in CM10.2 that I already have? If I will end up with bootloop how should I enter the recovery? The only way to do it is through reboot to recovery option in my rom, if I get stuck in the bootloop I will not be able to do anything. Can you explain one more time, step by step?

I can't guarantee that you can reboot to recovery, because sometimes it does not work. This process is risky... You can't go to download mode too after that.
1. Download CM11 zip, get boot.img from it
2. Install Universal Kernel Flasher and some root explorer
3. Install boot.img with Universal Kernel Flasher
4. Reboot recovery
5. Install CM11, do factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache...
I wouldn't try something like this with those risks, I will rather get my volume buttons fixed before trying this. I think chances to fail is greater then not to.
I understand now.. as you said is too risky. Can anyone help me with a method to get root on stock jellybean without using recovery or to use goo manager? I want so bad to try kitkat but I don't want to brick my phone in the process. Thank you Shutdown anyway for the help.

I think Goo manager is not working because it is not compatible with our device. Its developer needs to make it work with our phone. So I think there is no other method for rooting except the one we have, zip file and flashing it in recovery.
Why there isn't an odin flashable method for root as for gingerbread? I am sorry for bothering you, but you are of the most experienced dev/user of our device.. My volume flex can't be fixed unless I change the motherboard wich is far too expensive compared with the value of the phone. I also have a very unstable version of cm 10.2 (I installed it like 10 months ago) so my camera doesen't work in video and I have the in call volume bug. If I just could root stock jellybean with other method, I could use twrp and install any 4.4 ROM I want. It is frustrating because I am so close yet so far..

There is not Odin flashable root method because we got that Recovery method that is easy and does not increase binary count, and devs did not make the one for Odin. Anyway you can't go to download mode too if Volume buttons is not working. You need to press volume up to proceed...
I built a long time ago a CM10.1 kernel with TWRP recovery... CM10.2 CWM is touch recovery.
@cristinel13 Method by shut_down is perfect, but if you aren't not sure to do it do this:
I built this file for you, download it but don't extract, leave as it is
Open Odin and put that file in "PDA"
Open Terminal Emulator on your device and write first su, confirm access then write reboot download
Now your device is in download mode without need to press vol+ to confirm
Press "Start" on Odin
Let the device starts, then open again Terminal Emulator, write again su then write reboot recovery to enter in recovery. Now flash any KitKat ROM that you want

I think that you need to do factory reset... Can you use ADB? Try to delete data/data folder in root with ADB. You can use this if you need GUI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2105707
