My own music mix with allot special effects - Off-topic

Hello people browsing XDA
I've just finished my own little music mix. Lately i've been practising allot with adobe after effects so it has a nice video with some cool special effects. This is my first try and i'm definitely going to make more. At the moment another mix is in the make using samples from other songs and in the nearby future i'm also going to make my own production. I'm not asking for likes or subscribers but if you like it i would appreciate it if you click the button
Hope you like it

All you musicians here, how's it going?
Just a thread for those musically inclined, trained, hobby'd or interested to share their thoughts on music creation and anything related...
While I'm here, anyone keen on an Internets band?

Actually. I am working on a project with multiple musicians and singers. Interested? I play guitar, piano, clarinet, violin, and ocarina

sweet, yeah... I do bass and guitar, whats the project?
Here is the copypasta I have been sending out to musicians:
Hello, I am a songwriter, guitarist, and pianist currently working on making music with a new band. However, I have also been working on a solo album that veers away from the typical sound I play with my live band. I have been drawing inspiration from many artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Gaby Moreno, Nerves Junior, to name a few and I am taking this entire project in an unorthodox approach.
In terms of sound, I am experimenting with keyboards, filters, lo-fi production sounds in a higher quality production environment. Techniques such as recording parts to media such as cassette tapes and ripping audio source to a computer are being used (To give you an idea). Another part of the project is creating tracks with other artists contributing their personal feelings to song lyrics that I write, broadening the emotions provoked by tracks and offering opportunities to artists and even a few close friends that have dabbled in music.
A variety of effects, mixing techniques, and instruments will be used in production and I am mixing it all from my home studio by collecting pieces from other artists which leads to me emailing you.
Essentially the basis for this record would be that I send out lyrics to various singers and musicians and allow them to interpret the song in anyway they choose, perhaps offering minor guidelines like tempo. The artist would take artistic freedom over what they have been presented with. You would be able to sing any way you wanted, in any mood. Just however you feel when you read the lyrics. The lyrics will also be sent to instrumentalists who will create backing tracks based on the emotions provoked by the song. Finally, I will add what I had written the song like, in my own style, and begin a mixing process that will combine elements from every single artist contacted. The process is experimental and I will roll with whatever I am presented.
You won't need to contribute too much if you don't want to. If you simply want to contribute vocals for one section of a song, it is fine. If you want to record the entire song, it too, is fine. At the end of the project, the album will be available for free via bandcamp with liner notes included that will provide listeners with ways to donate to everyone who contributed to the album.
I thank you for reading this if you have and if you have any other questions or if you would like to start right away, feel free to email me.
I'm sitting here at work listening to the Verdi Reqiem, mouthing the words and following my part (Alto I). We're performing it at the end of October...
I also play guitar and have started noodling around with an Alto Sax.

Your three favorites are also the ones that never end. I imagine having to constantly retrieve episodes would be a pain, not to mention the space requirements...
Installed, I haven't tried downloading but the streaming works great!

Download and Video play both stuck for me forever. Any Geo location Criteria ?
Wow what a fantastic app! Will you be adding features to rewind and fast forward? (maybe they're implemented and I just didn't see where). Also, how about adding dubbed anime's as well? Lastly, do you accept donations? I like supporting developers who create apps I enjoy such as this one to hopefully see it getting continually updated!
Thanks

There are exceptions of course, but these exceptions are so rare that there is no reason to include dubs. The producers don't care who they hire for english voice actors, and it shows.
The only acceptable compromise is if the videos have two separate audio streams, so you can manually select english if you really feel the need to...

Jordan's Thread

So, it looks like I completely forgot to do this, oops.
I'm Jordan. I generally do the weekly (or semiweekly) news recaps for the XDA Portal, but I got my start on YouTube with my other channel, http://youtube.com/thisweekinlinux, where I talked about Linux news, created screencast-style tutorials, and reviewed Linux distributions.
I've recently relaunched my YouTube "career" by creating a new channel, http://youtube.com/twildottv, where I'll be talking about not only Linux, but Android, hardware, software, and just geeky topics in general. Feel free to subscribe if you like my content!
I'm around pretty regularly, so feel free to ask me whatever you like!
UPDATE: As of this past weekend, I'm also running a gaming channel on YouTube, http://youtube.com/twilplays, where I'll be doing gaming commentary on all sorts of different platforms, and hopefully doing some tabletop gaming videos as well in the future. Check that out, if you're interested!

Love your videos bro, I actually watch them as soon as they come out. I appreciate the business-like approach and professionalism that comes with good recording equipment! I wasn't a big fan of the jackassery and all-around goofiness that was borderline pompous from previous hosts. You rock dude!

I actually liked the previous hosts as well. They were a large part of the reason I wanted to be a on XDA TV in the first place. I have to thank them for the foundation they helped build for the channel, and I hope that I can continue to do it justice in the coming days/weeks/months/whatever until people get tired of watching me.
You are one awsome host!!!! I have a little more info every time I watch your videos.........like the Molecular structure of Caffeine
Love your videos Jordan
I think we need some more from you on the XDA channel too, share the love to more viewers
Thanks so much, csoulr666 and Quinny899!

Thanks, Quinny! I was trying to upload it to the minecraft.net profile page, yes. Tried just a downloaded one from one of the referenced minecraft skins sites, and then one that I edited myself, and no dice either time. I also went through and did the migration to the Mojang account thing, and tried uploading afterward. No luck.
Definitely seems that the servers are just having issues. I'll try again later today and see if it works.
Jordan, since I see you are a linux guy, could you please do a video about NANDROID for the HTC Touch HD (WinMo phone) which is on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914723 ??
Maybe you could talk a little bit about the ROM and possibly help on our biggest problem to make this ROM a daily driver: Wifi. The problem is kernel related, and all functions work on the SD builds, which run by executing Handheld Reverse Engineering Tool (or HaRET). Of course, with a NAND ROM, we would boot up Linux right away!
I know it's Gingerbread only, and the kernel is only a .27, but everyone is waiting for a fully functional ROM for this device. Maybe later we could upgrade kernel and, who knows, maybe moving to ICS.
I'm not asking for a whole new video about this, just asking you to talk about it when you report the news (which I think is every week).
Thank you for reading,

Video Editing/Creating software?

Hello all,
I am looking to create a new promo video for the LinuxonAndroid project (our current videos are very out dated and boring as hell), this new video would be more about promoting LinuxonAndroid and showing off what i can do and not just a video of it running.
Anyway the point is I do not have much experience in video editing/creation and am interested in what software people recommend for such a project.
I'm willing to look at paid software as well as free (after all if the price is good it could be something I would end up using again and again anyway).
So what software do you guys recommend?
Pinnacle Studio, adobe after effects, adobe premiere, movie maker , MAGIX movie creator, Pinnacle Avid (Free)
Sony Vegas is really good editing software but not cheap.
sent from my captivate glide running ICS (NardROM 0.4 Rooted)
Hi old friend!
I guess pinnacle studio is a go for If you're not a pro and if you don't want to pay thousands of euros. Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere are meant for professionals and they cost an awful lot of money. Pinnacle is actually quite decent considering it costs what, hundred euros?
Sent from my premium potato
Adobe Premier is pretty easy to learn, but it won't do everything that After Effects will.
Pinnacle Studio is very limited, but that may be all you need. It will let you throw video together, add music, some basic transitions, but you're not going to fly a 3D frame with a video on it in from any odd angle you want. That's After Effects territory.
It's all about what you need. Try to download demo versions.
Thanks guys... Really what it as professional looking as possible, willing to spend some time on it etc as at the end of the day the point to the video will be to promote linuxonandroid and get in more users.
Plus give us something nice to put on our homepage

I am still on version 10, and most of my Vimeo videos were made with it.
https://vimeo.com/chrislight/videos
I've been looking into this for sometime now...right now using Cyberlink Powerdirector, i know.
*Vegas pro/movie studio as skinny recommended.
*Adobe Premier Pro too...think i'm gonna give this a try soon.
Industry Standard? I've been told it's Avid.
Also have a look at Lightworks and Final Cut Pro
Avid is popular, but most of the major tv networks use After Effects. I know, because I've sold them and supported them with 3D modeling plugins.
Hmm...these are professional tools, need to learn and use them else it's a waste. Just like how every dumbass today has a dslr.
