Is there any program to reduce the in call ear piece volume. I have to keep the phone at least 20 cm away from my ear during the call even the volume is minimized.
There is a bug report about this problem. I was just wondering does anybody know any program or solution to this problem, because there is nothing happening about the official bug report.
uhmmm, turn the volume down ??
i have the same problem. with CMs rom the in call volume dont seem to work
Same here with CyanogenMod...

What seach??? Never heard
Thank you, i test it.
At first i was using the headset with music . and when i was pressing the button next to mic it was doing nothing. So i tought it was just because it's not compatible with the media player. But when i receive calls and my headset is plugged activating that button does nothing even if im talking with someone it doesn't hang up.... Basically that button next to the mic does nothing. Do i have to activate something or do i have to hold it for 2 min each time... maybe its broken ? but i bought it like 1 week ago and i pay attention to it... anyway any feedback is appreciated... Thanks

Are you using i9000 based ROMs or stock or cog? On cog roms, headset button has never failed me. I believe i9000 based roms have an issue with the headset.
well i am using stock rom, but i just rooted the phone (wich now looks like a failed attempt)

WOW, that is a shame, I like it and it works for me, well keep looking, maybe someone will chime in here.
still no help... please someone help here...
Hi guys! Need a solution or a direction to further dig the problem.
The issue: Navigon directions are barely heard on my car stereo via bluetooth. Music sound volume over bluetooth is ok, call volume too. There are separate volume adjustments within the app's Iphone version (system and Navigon) that are not present in Android.
Device: HTC One Dev Ed, stock 4.2.1 rom
Thanks!

Nope. The problem is within android Bluetooth, there are rumors that it is going to be solved in key lime.

I did find that while voice is speaking (press the icon in the bottom left to make it speak) you can press the volume up. The internal app volume will then increase.

Thank you. Well, I think I've tried everything, including your tip, in vain. For now I am not using Navigon.

About those buttons: apple earphones send different button codes than the typical android earphones if we can find out those button codes we can create a function for them in android!

Because when you will see the 4.3 update you will observe that the current existenz rom and 4.3 are almost the same.niaboc79 has done a great job..so for me using existenz is lyk using 4.3

Hi everyone!
I'm not sure if this is apropriate place to ask for it, but I have similar issue - few days ago I flashed CM11 on my Xperia SP and from that moment I can't use buttons on my earphones to change volume and/or skip songs. On stock ROM everything worked well. Now on CM11 each button works like "enter" in PC. Buttons on the unit works well (skipping, changing the volume).
Thank you in advance for any help.

You might want to try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55265611&postcount=2092
Looks great but how can I check what codes are assigned to buttons in my earphones? I saw somwhere that it is the way to "decode" buttons (by some kind of application I think), but I don't know it for sure. Can you help me?

No no, you don't have to decode that or some sort! Just edit the lines, exactly similar to the post and you're done!
My english is not so good as I want, so I'm making "shortcuts" here and there
I wrote about decoding because solution describing only one key. My earphones have three (answer button, vol+, vol-).
On stock ROM JB, Play Music and Sony Walkman app worked well with these buttons. When display was off I could start/stop music (with answer button) change the volume (short pressing vol+/-) and skip songs (long pressing vol+/-).
That solution allows me to start/stop songs using the answer button. If I could "read" codes of the vol+/- buttons on my earphones I could bind them with proper functions (changing the volume and/or skipping songs).
Maybe you know that codes?
Ok - there is "Key test" option in CWM. That's the results:
Unit:
vol+ 114
vol- 115
shutter 766
Headset
talk 256
vol+ 257
vol- 258
I made some changes in Generic.kl to assign exactly the same functions as in unit to headset buttons, and it WORKS
I can change the volume and start/stop the music. I can also skip the tracks by holding volume buttons on the earphones. :victory:
...
key 256 HEADSETHOOK
key 257 VOLUME_UP
key 258 VOLUME_DOWN
...
