Yeah, HD doesn't show up cuz the market automatically hides apps that aren't compatible with your device... The HD one showed up when I clicked Rovio's name on the web market (https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Rovio+Mobile+Ltd.) and the comments seem to show that EeePad Transformer TF101 with version 1.0.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab with version 1.0.1, and Galaxy Tab 10.1 with version 1.0.1 are all compatible. The XOOM shares the SAME EXACT Tegra 2 processor as the GalTab 10.1 and Transformer, which is even BETTER than the processor in the original GalTab. I really see no reason for my XOOM not to be compatible; same resolution, screen size, processor, etc. as both the Transformer AND the GalTab 10.1, PLUS the Transformer is also on ICS 4.0.3... Grrrrrrrr. I'm kinda angry. I just wanna give Rovio my money .
Hmmm it appears that both have the same version 1.01, strange
I am running teameos wingray nightly 84 and it doesn't appear. If I logon to play.market.com and look at Angry Birds HD it tells me that some of my devices are compatible. The device that is compatible is MZ604,which is my stock rom, but not Xoom which is what the teameos rom shows as.
Interesting. I'll check it out in a few.

That is not what I see on build 84 of EOS...
I can buy it, and it is compatible with my MZ601 with TeamEOS ICS 1.0.0...
Xoomed with my Motorola
This is ridiculous. I can't install it on my WiFi-only Xoom. After checking on the web Market --uh, Store-- it shows up as available for one of my devices: my Xoom when I had changed the build.prop to the Verizon Xoom.
That is, again, RIDICULOUS. I decide I'm going to spend money on these guys to support them and I can't because I have a WiFi-only device?
**** them, I'll pirate the HD version whenever I find it.
Yes, there's a free version which works fine and still looks beautiful... but, come on. This is just stupid.
</rant>
The game is really fun, btw.
It says it's compatible with my Wingray. I'm running the stock rooted ROM.
For some reason it now says it's compatible... URGGGGGG finally!
NM, not gonna get the HD version. See http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/03/23/angry-birds-space-hd-is-finally-available-in-the-play-store-for-2-99-but-honestly-rovio-why/ because apparently it looks and practically is the exact same.
I downloaded Angry Birds Space HD to my Xoom and, with the exception of fixing the improperly sized intro graphic, the game looks nearly identical. The free version looks just as good on my display. Which leaves me to wonder what I just spent $3 on. Maybe the differences would be more noticeable on the Transformer Pad Infinity, or the new iPad, but here on an Android tablet that actually exists, that $3 seems to buy you absolutely nothing.
I don't have a problem with paid versions of games. In fact, I'd prefer it to the alternatives. However, Android, as a platform, is built so that you don't need to have multiple versions to support different device types. From the ground up, Android has been designed so that things like screen resolution or aspect ratio won't break an app. So, when a game developer deliberately breaks off an "HD" version, it's annoying. When that "HD" version doesn't actually offer any improvements over the original, though, it feels like theft.
Oh, and not to add injury to insult or anything, but if you're considering buying this app now anyways, take a look at some of the reviews first. It seems that some users are experiencing crashes and difficulty loading the HD app. If you're feeling gutsy, though, here's a widget just for you.

Quite honestly, I'm glad someone else made the same exact mistake I almost made right before I made it. I was disappointed and happy at the same time when that popped up in my RSS feed...
Want to see something weird? See the file sizes for the Free and the HD version. Free is ~23 MB, while HD is ~17 MB. Yes, you read right: 23 and 17.
How is an HD version smaller than a normal one? Apart from the ads (which don't come with the game, since they're downloaded off the net)... what's been added onto the Free version? Or, even worse, what's been substracted from the HD version?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-3
That's really strange... good find! Maybe cuz it only supports our resolutions and screen size instead of all the different phone ones? Hmm... That shouldn't be right...

Problem with trying to find the right version from GameLoft is there are several different devices to choose from. Each is a different software version to match hardware. Unfortunately I'm not sure which device this version matches.
Will post link to the Archos forums, where I found it. (had it installed on my Archos 70it, and tried it on the GTAb to see...to my pleasant suprise.)

None of them work -- I tried every one...
I can confirm that v3.4.7 will load up and initiates a download of the extra data (232 MB!) but it seems to be the wrong resolution and not even centred on the screen...
Still testing though...
Update: Was just the splash screens that are odd -- once past them the game goes full screen...
Where did you find 3.4.7?

using clymson's rom ontop of vegan 5.1 here (also have chenglu's quadrant loop feedback loaded as well)
I'm also on Vegan 5.1 -- but with the stock kernel...no other hacks installed yet...
Again, none of the links from MyDigitalLife work -- only 3.4.7 and above work...
So you can try getting it from Gameloft directly on a phone and then side-load it into the tablet -- as long as it is 3.4.7 or later...
The build I found was listed as being for "other phones" (whatever that means)...There are some newer builds available but I haven't tried them -- I stuck with 3.4.7 since it was stated that it works.
Found a video saying that it should be out by the end of this week and it is demoed on a Xoom so that means it will be tablet compatible.

Will be free on Amazon Appstore...
Will be free of charge on Amazon App store for a day some time end of this month.
From the web:-
PopCap is finally bringing its quirky, bright colored games to Android. The Seattle based company has signed an exclusive agreement with Amazon to bring its first Android games to the Amazon Appstore. Leading the launch will be the googly-eyed furballs game, Chuzzle. And at the end of the month, the fan-favorite Plants vs. Zombies will be made available. Both games will be featured as the "App of the Day" in the Amazon Appstore and will be free of charge those days. After that, the games will be priced at $2.99 each.
I hope everyone is right and this is coming tomorrow.

Thank you thank you! The lepad version is MUCH better than the Amazon market version by a mile. Guys, you will have to delete the Amazon version before installing the optimized version or it will not work. I suspect they will put another version out. Something has to be missing in the v1.0.0 build.
I suppose this explains why I see two different versions of PvZ out there, but to be honest I will just stick with the Amazons versons...No, offence to plants vs zombies levono, but I usually like games like this that are still fully supported and can be updated with a click of a button like with android market and amazon appstore.
But ty for clearing up my confusion as to why their are two different looking versions of PvZ.
thanks for posting the tablet ver it looks so much better than the one on amazon... i still got the amazon anyways so when they do fix it i can just redownload it

I know, you'd think it'd be no problem, which is what I assumed. Perhaps support for the OMAP4 is coming via update?
That would be my guess. I think the D3 is the first with OMAP 4 in it, the Bionic is next so once a few devices have it and are selling Netflix will see a reason for it.
There is also multiple different netflix's out there, have you tried all of them?
Hi I tried netflix on cyanogenmod 7 and it worked fine, but when I try to do it in coredroid it said my phone was able. What sup with that.

Well if you can't wait just use a 30 day trial from playon.tv and get netflix that way.. I would imagine they will have the app by the end of this month or early next
Same here with the green crap. Audio actually does work, by the video decoding is busted. I used 3 or 4 different version of Netflix, some crashed my phone, others had the busted decoding.
It's compatible now, or so it says. Mine isn't working. It streams but everything is all green.

Yup same here. It will allow me to download and install from the market, but I get the green pixelated screen followed by a reboot.
Confirming, officially supported, and still officially broken.
The version you are downloaded is the 1.2.2 and we have to wait for the "official" 1.3 update. It seems Google is possibly being a little slow?
The 1.3 update just hit the android market and it now works for the D3... Although the colors are not as good as it looked on my old Droid Inc.
Maybe some tweaking can resolve the color issue...
Confirmed, updated version is working for D3 quite nicely.
Originally came out for iOS a month or two ago, came out for Android today.
Showing as incompatible for my Xoom running Eos 2.0.0, but compatible for my Nook Tablet running CM9 so I bought it and am going to try and side load.
Is it showing up as compatible for anyone on their Xoom on a different rom?
Edit: Sideloading seems to have worked, downloading the hundreds of mb worth of stuff now. So if you have a device that is compatible, you should be okay. Note, that sideloading without purchasing likely will not work, as I'm pretty sure it still checks to see if you purchased.
Edit2: Download is complete, game is running and looks great.

I haven't been able to get Osmos to work, though others have. Other than that and the above-mentioned camera, it's a great tablet. (Admittedly, it would be easier to just buy a tablet built for Android like the $200 Nexus, but since you seem to have a situation where it's a one-for-one trade, it's still a great tablet.)
