[Q] Superuser not updating su binary - LG Thrill 4G

I upgraded to v20p and rooted using megatron. Every time i try to update su binary it sails receive manifest failed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled busybox. I've tried to uninstall superuser, but after i uninstall it just says "open" and "update". so when i uninstall it just uninstalls the update.. i've tried using titanium backup to uninstall but it doesnt see superuser installed. so i have no way to uninstall superuser to reinstall. I have no idea how to fix this problem. Maybe the su binary server is down? Does anyone know how i can fix this?

Are you trying to update with wifi or data plan? I haven't had any problems updating my SU binarys.

this exact thing happened to me also when I had v20c yesterday...I am on completely stock v20p right now and havent rooted yet.
But this happened to me with v20c.

[Q] ROOT... kind of?

rcvd an orange branded DHD yesterday but was able to run Visionary 14 and run temproot then permroot as device wasn't upgraded.
Applied jkoljo easy one click radio off, sim unlock and super cid thing with all looking good with radio s-off confirmed. Also from terminal emulator I have #su access.
Via clockwork Mod installed a modaco custom rom - all looking good.
My problem now is that titanium backup says it could not acquire root privileges?
I have tried downloading a clean busybox but it fails on the verify stage. Sometimes I get error: application superuser (process com.noshufou.android.su) has stopped unexpectedley.
I've also tried clearing data for both TB and SU from settings > apps > manage apps... no good.
Any ideas?

if you flash your backup (you did make one right?) I assume root and SU are still intact, if so possibly a bad flash of modaco, try reflashing or flashing a different ROM and report back
I did make a backup but hadn't tried re-flashing. I'm giving it a go now.
OK so dropped into clockword mod recovery, cleaned dalvik, wiped fatory reset and cache then re-flashed modaco rom.
All installs fine however still have the force close when trying to run titanium backup and get the error can't get root privilege.
SU reports it is up to date but trying to run su in terminal emulator gives the com.noshufou.android.su stopped message.
Apart from not being able to restore/backup using TB at least I can still install ROM.
The root problem is in the rom you are using, try for example Android Revolution 2.0.3. Some 1.72 based roms have problems with superuser.
try re-installing updating Superuser via the market see if that helps as it does sound like an issue with Superuser itself

which MCR are you using? is it a pre-baked or cooked one?
A baked one on the r2.

appears to be a known issue with MCR r2 a possible work around is after a FC run superuser yourself and then the app might run normally if you try launching it again.
Edit: on further investigation, there is a patched SU available over on the G2 Forums apparently it's and issue on all 1.72.x.x Sense ROMs, wouldn't know personally as I don't use Sense

Cheers buddy, I ran the patch and now have Titanium Backup, Clockword Mod and Terminal Emulator all with SU!

[Q] Why is superuser not granting anything permissions?

So I just rooted my Motorola Droid since my contract expired with Verizon. I'm using this phone as practice so I'm not afraid to brick it. After using the superoneclick method to root the phone, it installs superuser fine, and I can access the app. I installed ROM manager for obvious reasons and every time I try to flash a recovery, it freezes at the point where the app is supposed to ask me for superuser permissions. I tried using titanium backup and it is not asking for permissions either. I then go into the superuser app and did the "Tap to check for updates" under the Su binary v3.0.3 label. The update fails every time on the "Gaining root access..." step. I tried unrooting and rerooting and everything. I went into the superuser settings and set the automatic response to "allow" and am still getting nothing. I have also force closed superuser, and then cleared all the data before restarting.
Am I just missing something important? Or am I just unlucky to the point where nothing I ever try in regards to rooting works the way it is supposed to?

Have you tried updating the superuser app itself? not only the su binary

[Q] SuperSU not working

Hi I'm on Badboy 4.4 and for some reason my SuperSU is not working. I'm trying to use DriveDroid and my phone won't give root access to Drive Droid.
When I tried running SuperSu, it says "There is no SU binary installed". I tried flashing a newer version "UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.69" but when I flashed it, SuperSU doesn't even show up in the app tray. What am I doing wrong?
it happens

Lost root trying to get Android Pay

I tried turning off\disabling root to get Android Pay to work and now I can't get root back.
Whenever I open SuperSU it just says the binaries are missing. I've tried flashing the SuperSU zip in the recovery, but it still just says the binaries are missing.
I've also tried uninstalling SuperSU from the Play Store, and it just removes the latest update, doesn't actually uninstall it.
Ideas?

There will be no root support for android pay. Explanation here
Yeah I know, that's why i was trying to temporarily get rid of root, but now i can't get root back. Any ideas how I can? SuperSU just keeps telling me there aren't any binaries, even when i try to flash the zip
The exact same thing happened to me when trying out android pay. Did you ever figure this out? Thanks!

For me, I solved the issue by flashing the beta SuperSU from Chainfire's site.
I used SuperSu-Me by forum member gatesjunior. $3.99 in the Play Store.
Kingroot has its own superuser app and will unroot your phone if you uninstall it.
SuperSU-Me freezes Kingroot, installs SuperSU, then installs Kingroot while keeping root.
