Ubuntu style lock screen available? - Android Themes

I recently recustomized my S2 to look like it's running ubuntu using ADW launcher. However, I was wondering - if anyone has tried such a theme - if anyone has an idea or available ubuntu theme for go locker or widget locker (I have both). Any help, input, questions or comments would be warmly welcomed! Thanks in advance for participating, hopefully this can be of use to someone other than myself as well.

How would that look like?

Well I was hoping someone else would have an idea because I'm not too sure what to look for. I could easily use widget locker, use an ubuntu background and some random slider but I'm thinking something more along the lines of a (probably fake) login screen. Maybe something like this
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=ubun...xtT4G5Jc2E2QXa74DyAQ&zoom=1&biw=1043&bih=1657.
It would be cool to be able to use a profile picture of sorts on the screen and probably instead of the password input just something that can be tapped to unlock. Clearly I'm not asking anyone to develop something just for me - rather, I'm just trying to see what may already be out there under the dirt as I haven't found anything yet.

There's a few Ubuntu-related themes for Go Launcher and ADW that I've seen in the market, but I'm sure you've seen them already as well. Haven't seen anything that sounds like what you're looking for though. However, just thought I might pass this along:
Here's the new lock screen design for GNOME 3:
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/02/gnomes-new-lock-screen-design-goes-online/
And here's the new LightDM (Unity Greeter) login screen for Ubuntu 12.04:
http://www.webupd8.org/2012/02/unity-greeter-gets-new-session-chooser.html

Yeah I'm already using an Ubuntu theme with ADW launcher. I'm using GO Launcher with an ICS theme and using the launcher background, so it fits - just doesn't look like Ubuntu at lock screen. I appreciate the links, the Unity lock screen is more or less what I expected but the Gnome 3 was new to me! If nothing else I'll get by with what I have - my friends that don't use Ubuntu won't know the difference anyway lol.

LauncherPro Beta

This post is targeted towards all the leakers out there. If you're still looking for a Nexus One-style home replacement app, look no further than LauncherPro Beta. It has an app launcher drawer with a *very* smooth 3D fly-in effect, a la the Nexus One. Home screen scrolling stutter is also eliminated, and overall the app just flies performance-wise.
I'm sure many of you have heard of it; this thread is for the people who haven't. Please no flaming.
EDIT: You can also "pinch-zoom" the home screen to get a helicopter view - just like the Sense UI.

Yeah its a decent little application, However you should probably post this in themes and apps as it doesn't relate to development. Not flaming just saying you posted in the wrong forum.
I agree with you that it doesn't really belong here, but I was hoping to ward off a lot of the people complaining about not having root and how they can't make their phone look like a Nexus One. Maybe my efforts are futile...
I use LauncherPro on my Eris. I have one tip to throw out there for root users who want to use this... the app doesn't (yet) have a feature to customize what the dock icons do. And on a Sense-based ROM, you will probably be getting the HTC Messaging app by default with no way to switch it (at least that's what happened to me). That's fine if you use that, but I only use Handcent SMS, for example.
So I had to use ADB to rename /system/app/Mms.apk to Mms.bak... no adverse affects seen from that yet. Handcent took over automatically. Downside being you can't use the HTC app anymore unless you reverse the change.

Yeah all you have to do is remove Mms.apk and Browser.apk and you get handscent and xscope as defaults (if u have them installed of course). Not technically custom, but still what I wanted
Try updating to his newest release. 0.2.0. I have mine themed and since his newest release on 5.19, my sms opens to chomp. should work with handscent as well, I have not deleted my default sms.
hope that helps.
I like...has anyone confirmed sense widgets working with it yet?
Sense Widgets do not appear as an option in adding onto the launcher pages.

sense widgets will not work with launcherpro. it is a stock home replacement. only android widgets work. however, flip clock and weather widget is an app that mimics the htc flipclock. you have to install the ht7 theme for the flipclock and weather icons. looks identical. either that or beautiful widgets. there are no other apps created that mimic the rest of the widgets tho... yet. however there are a few android widgets that will suffice tho. use them to your own liking. I wish htc would create Senseui replacement app. Meaning, open source skinning for sense ui. its one of the main reasons why i rooted my phone. We all like the functionality of those widgets, but they wont make them open source. that would discourage many from rooting and voiding thier warranties. id pay for that app and themes as well!
yea, doesnt belong here, but launcherpro IS SWEET!!!!!!!
I really liked LauncherPro Beta... but i also fell in love with HelixLauncher mostly because you can customize the bottom bar for any apps that you want and its also free on the market
The developer of that app is actually working on updating it to be able to customize the bottom dock. I did a lil reading here on the boards & found a way to re route the messaging shortcut to handcent. Works like a charm. Til then ill still rock with sense until that update comes along. If your rooted and using ported hero rom, try adw launcher. Its the best so far. Now it has the customizable bottom dock. Its A flashable file so use at your own risk. And do not forget to do nandroid backup.

Its called Weather Widgets and its made by the "Android Apps" people. It looks JUST LIKE the sense Clock/Weather widget and functions the same way too. Its what I use with the Launcher Pro Beta. Looks just like sense. I believe its a paid app though.
Also, Weather Widgets (yr.no) by Thomware is very close to sense also.
Just installed LauncherPro Beta, and I LOVE it. Now that you can change what the shortcuts on the bottom go to, I believe I'm going to completely abandon HelixLauncher. This one is WAY better.
I use LauncherPro Beta. I love it. Customize the dock, change screens
Pretty fast too. MFLOPS 3.34 @ 1.62 sec, 3.358 @ 1.61 sec, 3.323 @ 1.63.
Not too bad. OC to 768.
Is there a way to replace the stock launcher home (not rosie) with this launcher been trying all day....i really want to be a pro and put the new launcher in system/apps as opposed to data/app
is this possible ?
Edit: nevermind I got it
ADW
Guys, ADW launcher is in the market now. just search adw
I find this blows even launcherpro away
edit: and it's free too, just like launcher.
I just installed adw a few days ago, switching from launcherpro, so trust me, I don't have anything against launcherpro
ADW is pretty cool. Was using Launcher Pro. Think I'll use ADW for a while.

Fullscreen Wallpapers

Hey, I know it's in these forums somewhere I just can't find it. How do I get fullscreen wallpapers on my Samsung Captivate, will froyo offer it?
Thanks in advance
What exactly do you mean? Wallpapers can already cover the entire screen...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Well the way the wallpapers are now they stretch over however many home screens we have. Well, I went minimalist having only one screen and it still gives the stretch look. I just want the fullscreen as the iphone has.
Thanks
In Launcher Pro you can disable wallpaper scrolling. I think that would get you what you are looking for.

Requesting LCARS Please...

If someone more talented then I would do an LCARS Live Wallpaper, Boot Animation, or full blown Theme, I would certainly put you on my xmas list! I know others have done it for other devices, but I need one for my new Tbolt. It has the power to be really nice.
Thank you in advance if anyone would like to tackle this challenge! I would gladly donate to make this happen!
What does this look like ?

Like the computer panels on StarTrek The Next Generation... Do a Google search for it and you'll see...
Oh that would be cool!

have you tried the tricorder app? its pretty sick too
got some neat features
beam me up scotty
Someone made a boot animation that looked like an LCARS terminal booting up with sounds and everything... It is very cool. I'm trying to adapt that to the Tbolt, but I'm not having any luck.
That boot animation along with a full blown theme would just be awesome!
I know that Sweeter Home had an Lcars theme that was pretty slick. Haven't used Sweeter Home in a long time so not sure if it is even still around.
I looked for Sweeter Home and everything I could find indicated it was gone...
there's this one, but it only works on certain screen sizes
code.google.com/p/lcarswallpaper/downloads/detail?name=lcarswallpaper_1.1.1.apk
Here's a theme:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gau.go.launcherex.theme.startrek
And LWP too:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.exitbrain.livewallpaper.startrek
Gosms:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rd.gosms.theme.enterprisetheme
Gokeyboard theme:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.gokeyboard.theme.enter
Gocontacts:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jbapps.contact.theme.enterprise
Golocker:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=go.locker.enterprise.modo.lab
I don't like go apps at all personally, but with all the above themes, sere one so inclined, he or she could have a full lcars UI... Besides the status bar and such...

Do you have a link to another device that uses the same version of sense that you are using? I can port stuff pretty fast, besides I need a new project anyway.

[Q] Cyanogenmod 9 Alpha 2 Trebuchet question

Hello. Currently, I have CM9 A2 on my TouchPad. Trebuchet is amazingly simple and I love it, except one thing. There's no dock. Is there something I can do to get it? In launcher settings when I click dock it doesn't lead to a new menu... And I do NOT want to use a different launcher. Thanks!
Not yet there isn't. The Dock is something that's in the works for the launcher. That's why it doesn't go anywhere - because it's a stub until they put something there. Keep your eyes peeled, and something should happen at some point.
So far no dock support, I suggest the simple to use ADW launcher, there is a nice free version and even better paid version. It looks good on the touchpad screen without taking away from ice look, even lets you dock 3 or 5 apps

Customization quandary

Is anybody else just at a complete loss of how to efficiently organize their homescreens in a manner that's aesthetically pleasing as well as efficient? I'm just not used to this much space. :V
I leave spaces where I swipe to make sure I don't open apps by accident lol

I always have this problem with my Android devices lol. Even my phones have open spaces because I don't know what to put in them. Sometimes I find myself just putting a large widget there I'm never going to use because of it.
This is no exception! I have like 2 screens with stuff, and one of them is the big Play Library widget that was already there in the first place. I must admit I've become quite fond of it.
I am having the same problem too. I have had nothing but phones from HTC with Sense so I am used to using widgets and UI that are more polished and feel the same. The different app widget designs with the Nexus bother me some.

Well, I'd like to think that my screen is somewhat organized. It's simple, but it works.

Easy fill up the background with fish & you won't notice the space.
