So I somewhat got Wiiremote support on the Vivid. I extracted the Bluetooth.apk from a Cyanogenmod rom.
1.) you need to have a odexed rom (I used rumraider b3)
2.) install the attached file by putting it in /System/app (i put it on my sd card and used root explorer)
3.) install Bluez IME and the HID addon (google it )
4.) follow the IME's instuctions and select Wiimote (HID) for the device.
known problems:
lights continue to blink, it's connected and won't turn off but the lights blink instead of show the 1
use at your own risk, this worked for me, no one else has tested it. Let me know how it works for you
Sry if this is off topic ,will this work for ps3axis controller

i'm not sure you can try? i don't see why it wouldn't.
The HTC Sense bluetooth apk is the "roadblock" for pairing the remotes. swapping it out should solve problems for all the pairing problems.
You know, I never would have thought of trying this on my own. I've got a bluetooth device that won't sync properly with anything stock on the vivid but I had GB ROM that I think used the telstra bluetooth stack that worked perfectly. Since going to ICS it had stopped working again but after reading this post I decided to pull the Bluetooth.apk off that old ROM and it works perfectly again.
Thanks for the tip.
Is this possible on the new stock ATT ICS rom? How can I backup or get the original installer for bluetooth on this rom? Thank you.

You can use a file browsing app like Root Explorer.
The Bluetooth.apk will be in system/apps. Mount system to R/W
move the original file to your sdcard somewhere.
And take the one posted in op's post up above.
And paste and install it in system/apps.
You need root permissions to do this though. Good luck.

It looked like I was able to just open the apk file posted and install it. Do you think this is possible? I didn't want to screw up my phone if I didn't have the original to replace it. Thanks.

it has to be put in the system apps folder because that's where the phone looks for the bluetooth support. also it needs some elevated permissions and isn't made to comply with superuser.
you can make a backup just in case
Had it sync fine the first time I tried it, and then my dad called and my screen off profile was too low so my phone restarted lol. Now I can't get it to sync again! When I Activate Bluetooth with Bluez IME selected I get a "pairing request," and if I choose it from the notification menu it says to enter a PIN on the phone and device (which I can't because you can't enter a PIN on the wiimote, plus the IME isn't touch input anymore).
My steps:
Activate Bluetooth
Scan for devices - Nintendo RVL-CNT-01
Select Device Driver - Wiimote (HID)
Select IME - Bluez IME
Anddd the wiimote just times out. Any insight?
try uninstalling the apk that you installed via installer (not dropping in system/app) if you haven't already
then maybe try reinstalling bluez IME?
i wish i could be more help!
Keep getting a "Disconnected: Software Interference" Are there limitations on a per-app basis as far as functionality is concerned?

What can we say? finaly
This will be included in or as a package in my rom(s)
(will update with more info after a night with sleep)
I cant seem to get it to work . I did notice that on the device compatibility list there are two different types of wildfire listed , one with an MSM72K usb controller and then another one with an msm_hsusb controller . Im not sure but i think that could be the reason its not working for me .
When i flash the zip it does disable all usb connections like its supposed to but after launching psfreedom.ko via terminal and following the instructions on the ps3 side it does nothing lol.
Ok got if working after flashing v6 puzzlerom , can't backup any games so i guess this is the version with backups disabled .
Can confirm, it works
A flash to disable would be fine, flashing back the nadroid backup takes to long
Can make backups but can't start.
Please can someone make a How'to or a patched version with enabled Backup support.
Translated for you guys
Hey all. I don't even have a wildfire and I'm translating this for the good of the community out of the kindness of my heart! (I've got a desire though!). Oh and it's italian not spanish but you can be forgiven for that. The two are so similar that I can translate it even although I don't speak any italian whatsoever (only spanish which is why I decided to translate this in the first place!)

[Exclusive] Port of PSFredom (for) your HTC Wildfire.
POSTED BY MRNAMELESS ON SETTEMBRE - 7 - 2010
(Translated by MrVarioII)
Thanks to the members of our team, Alephzein (thank you!), we now have the ability to use PSFreedom with your HTC Wildfire.
Follow the instructions and link below.
Prerequisites:
HTC Wildfire (with root)
questo file.zip
a terminal emulator app
Installation guide:
Download the zip file
Extract the zip file to your desktop.
Copy the file 'signed_090710_225229.zip' to your Wildfire's SDcard
Go to recovery
Perform a Nandroid Backup
Select the option "Choose zip from sdcard"
Select "signed_090710_225229.zip" previously copied to the SD.
Restart the phone.
Open terminal editor and issue the command:
-
su
- insmod /system/lib/modules/psfreedom.ko
Now we goto the PS3:
Playstation3 FAT: Switch off the console using the switch at the back.
Playstation 3 Slim: Unplug the powercable at the back of the console.
Disconnect any devices attached to the PS3 via USB.
Connect the 'Nexus One' to the PS3 (assume he means wildfire???)
Restart the PS3.
Press (or tap on the ps3 fat) the power button next quickly touch/press eject.
Enjoy your Jailbroken PS3!
hehe thank you!
sorry, i was tired last night and dident noticed it was on italian. but give me a slize of ham and i will tell you the diffrance between "Prosciutto di Parma" and "Jamón Serrano" in my sleep
Hi,
Since I am an android noob deluxe i wondered if anyone can redirect me to a guide to rooting the wildfire (as I imagine that is needed to use the PSFreedom).
I saw that there were some guides on this site but I don't know which one to use (my head is spinning with bootloaders and roms at the moment).
(Slaps myself, so that you dont have to, since im guessing this is a dumb question that has been asked 10 000 times before)
Thanks,
After a little testing I enabled Backup support.
It's quite simple.
open the psfreedom.ko in signed_090710_225229.zip with any Hex Editor and search for dev_xxxx and replace with dev_bdvd. Now Backup should work
Problem running psfreedom.ko
Hi, i am running a rooted wildfire with unrevoked. After installing the zip with recovery. I enter the code into a terminal. But, it says "can't open /system/lib/modules/psfreedom.ko". Thanks for the help.
I hack my PS3 using dingoo and PSfreedom, I install PS3 backup manager and PS3 FTP server
I order teensy++ dongle to use it with PSGroove

Hi, after 2 nights of strugling i managed to root my phone, using unrevoked.
Got Recoverymod running.
Made a backup in the Nandroid part of the menu.
But i keep getting the error "No sd-ext found. Skipping backup of sd-ext".
Is it still okay for me to continue flashing the Psfreedom.
And would Restoring still work even though i got this error.
Or how can i fix this error?
Thanks in advance.

After much google searching, and searching here on XDA, I'm at a loss. I have the Allshare.apk and .odex, however I have had no luck installing them. I've tried various suggesions, including pushing them from adb shell, and nothing seems to work.
I would love to continue using custom roms, but not having Allshare is a big reason for me to just use rooted stock. The rom I'm trying to install it on is Cognition Beta (Froyo).
Titanium Backup also doesn't work for this. It tells me that it backed up Allshare, but when I try to install it, the restore button doesn't even show up.
Also, a quick question for Rom Manager. With the rom backup feature, can you only restore a backup for the rom you are using? (i.e if you want to restore a backup for another rom, you have to flash the rom first, then restore?)
Although posted in the wrong forum... I'd also like an answer to this. Running CDE and would really like to have AllShare to stream movies off my media server.

Still at square one. Altho the .apk and .odex are now in system/apps, it didn't affect anything. Also, looked up root explorer, and how to use it, then downloaded it. It won't remount my main file system as read only...so it's permanently in r/w now.
Also tried flashing to killer23d's rom, to use titanium backup on the allshare he has in his rom, still wouldn't work.
So....clueless at this point.

At one point, I had this same problem, and the only solution there is, is to reflash the rom. It's a PITA, I know. And don't worry about what your filesystem is mounted as in Root Explorer. After every reboot it reverts to read only again.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be my case. Even after reflashing Cognition, my file system is still R/W. Didn't even have to hit the white button on root explorer to paste files into system/app.
Also, adding dlna.apk and dlna.odex into system/app still isn't giving me Allshare.
Edit: Well, I've found a better solution. I'm gonna go with Killer23d's rom...looks alot more like stock Froyo, is based on the I9000, has Allshare, AND Mobile AP. Both features that I wanted.
Thanks for trying guys. If anyone does come up with a solution tho, please feel free to use this thread, as searching for allshare.apk on google results in this thread being either the 2nd or 3rd search result (can't remember).
Works for me.
I just put AllShare back in, using the attached file, and it's working fine.
I'm running Cognition 2.2 Beta 9.1.3 and put the file into "system\app" using Root Explorer.
I also changed the permissions of the file and selected just the following:
USER = READ + WRITE
GROUP = READ
OTHERS = READ
Remove any other checked permissions.
In case you don't know how to get into the permissions, just long-press the file, from within Root Explorer, and choose "Permissions" from the list that pops up.
Don't forget to reboot right after.
Your issue is most likely because you are trying to reintegrate an odex'ed AllShare while you are using a de-odex'ed ROM. Ozone777's file looks to be about the correct size for a de-odex'ed AllShare. Just move it into the /system/app folder with root explorer as mentioned above and you should be good to go.
I used terminal to drop the APK attached in the previous post into /system/app and it works beautifully. CogYo 2.2.9

Should this be something I should be worried about?
No. That is the standard Android warning when installing any keyboard.
Anyone know if Swype is working on here yet?
Can't get alternate keyboard to enable
After I get an alternate keyboard installed, I can't get the checkbox to enable. I get the warning described above but then the keyboard doesn't enable and doesn't appear as a choice when you do the long press and select input method.

I was able to get SlideIt to work by installing it and then copying the apk file from /data/app and pasting it in /system/app. Then make sure to Mount R/W in the system folder and change permissions of the copied apk so that User is read/write and Group, Others is read only. Mount R/O. Now reboot. It should work now.
I am using TnT 2.2. There shouldn't be any need to enable it in the settings either. It will act like a system keyboard and will always be enabled. All you have to do is change input method by long tapping on a text box and selecting the newly installed keyboard.
I have tried this with a couple of other keyboards and it didn't work. Swype just says that it won't work with the screen size of the device.
I read this in another thread somewhere here. I can't take credit for this. Hope this helps.

From what I can tell, ES File Explorer can't see stuff in /data unless it is started AFTER the phone is rooted. Maybe the same goes for iFileManager.
So what I do is use z4root to get temporary root, kill ES File Explorer, then start ES File Explorer again. Then it can see /data.
Hope that this helps.

Hi, I've searched, read, looked - and I'm not finding out how to do this. I've run several roms - and am liking the Precision line - but in the latest one, the swype keyboard was removed...and I really like the swype keyboard. Are there directions on how to get this working in my setup once I've flashed to the Precision 3.5 rom? I cannot figure out how to get a swype keyboard added - regardless of the rom, if it's not already there.....
Currently I'm running one of the other roms - just because I cannot figure out how to get this working. Sorry if I've missed something, I appreciate the time and work ya'll do - so trying to make as much effort as possible before asking repeat questions.
Cheers!
In the ROM you are using now get "super user" access (though I bet you already have it). Then download a file manager that will show root files (I use "Root Explorer" but it is a paid app); the only free file manager that I know of that will give R/W access to the root folders is "Android Mate" (just watch out it tries to be a little more than just a file manager and will try to become your home app, so don't let that happen).
Navigate in your current ROM to "/system/app" and find "swype.apk", then copy it to your external sd card so you will still have it when you load your new ROM.
Load the ROM you want and get "super user" access, download the file manager you used above (Paid or Free), go to your external sd card and copy the "swype.apk", navigate to "/system/app" and paste.
You should now be able to select and use your swype keyboard!
You can also use the free app Super Manager but it also tries to be more than a root explorer. Imo root explorer is well worth paying for.
Jeff,
Thanks - did that; so I'll reflash and try that. Do you know, will this approach work for the life wallpapers also. I started searching for that and gave up since that wasn't a rom deal breaker for me. :/
Thanks again!
Trying to use both the free apps failed - i.e. copying and pasting the Swype.apk does nothing i.e. I'm not ending up with this .apk in my system folder or any other folder I try. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, if you can't actually do this, or what. I don't want to buy something to try and change my keyboard....kinda silly TBH. Anyone know what might be going on?
Cheers!

Dear all,
I am desperately looking for a STK.apk from the ICS SDK.
I am currently unable to install the sdk since I have no access to a computer right now.
Can someone please post a link to the latest stk.apk?
Sent from my I9000 using XDA App
Edit:
I have found another STK.apk than the one from post 3. The latter one has been extracted from OneCosmic's ICS Beta 1. It works fine for me as well. Apparently my Dual SIM adapter does not need all functions of STK, so it may not work for sending provider codes.
Anyone who is able to use the attached STK with provider codes, please provide feedback for others.

Success
To all it may concern:
I downloaded the STP.apk (SIM ToolKit) from the ICS Apps Dump , copied the apk to "system/app" and changed the permissions to Owner: RW, Group: R, Others: R
To do so, use any Root Explorer app.
As I am not yet allowed to paste links, please PM me if you want me to sent it to you.
Works like a charm now...
Steps:
1. Download 'stk.apk' and copy it somewhere on your phone
2. Move it to '/system/app' with a root enabled file manager
3. Change the permissions as described above
4. Reboot
F.y.i.: Root does not work on my ES File Explorer.
I use 'File Manager HD', cause it's easy to use and it is free.
Dont forget to enable root in the settings.
Permissions can be changed by long press on the file.

Well I am on Onecosmics great RC1 with "updated" kernel, which is also 4.0.3 and it works perfect. It works even better than on GB.
I am using a dual SIM adapter which needs STK to switch between SIMs. On GB Stock, the process crashed from time to time and I had to restart the phone in order to be able to switch SIMs. Now, I doesn't crash anymore.
- Did you copy the file with a root-enabled explorer and assign the correct permissions?
- Do you have any radio related issues on your ICS installation? (e.g. incoming/outgoing calls working, no mobile data issues etc.)
I did all the things above, can't instal it....
Need other version of stk.apk?
Greetz
I don't think that you need another version, since this one is from the ICS System App Dump and it works perfect with 4.03
Do you receive any FCs on the Phone process? Can you copy stk.apk to system/app ? Did you check permissions (i.e. rw-r--r--)? Is the stk.apk still in the correct folder after reboot? Did you reboot?
A detailed description of what happens would be an asset if you want help.
I did everything as described here. Seems that app somehow works, but something isn't like it should be. My confirmation through stk doesnt reach back to server I guess.
STK depends on RIL!

I'm not surprised... this is the same behavior I saw on CyanogenMod 7.
SIM Toolkit is heavily dependent on the Radio Interface Layer (RIL) implementation. As I understand it, the RIL is the hardware/software component which interacts with the phone's modem/baseband in order to call, SMS, 3G, etc. SIM Toolkit and USSD codes are all dependent on separate functions in the hardware, and the software layer must also implement hooks for them to work properly. The original poster's SIM switching gadget might work because the functions it relies on are implemented, while the ones we need are not.
Also, I've noticed that certain operations work on Onecosmic's ICS which don't work on Teamhacksung's, such as *522#, my bank's mobile interface. STK has only ever worked for me on Samsung stock ROMs.
More info about Android's RIL software and how it interacts with the hardware: http://www.netmite.com/android/mydroid/development/pdk/docs/telephony.html
Thanks aorth, for this detailed insight.
So I must consider myself as a 'lucky guy'.
Could the issue be fixed by using or porting a Nexus S modem?

Damn, it won't wok properly then?!
Thx, and I'll keep hoping
I did everything in the steps. It's installed. I can't seem to find it in the app drawer. Nothing in my app drawer is hidden. So, since i can't find it. I can't run it.
Solutions?
Hi, with 'installed' , do you mean 'copied to \system\app' with correct permissions and still there after reboot ?

You must be root and you need a file manager with root access.
c.f. instructions on first page, post #3.
If you are not used to do this kind of stuff, be cautious and follow the instructions step by step. PM me, if you are unsure.
Do it at your own risk. I am not responsible for whatever could be the consequences of your doing.
I've just downloaded and followed the instructions for installation at post #3 and it worked fine! I'm using Onecosmic's ICS RC3.1 in my SGS.
Thanks...

What exactly does not work? Do you have working root access?
If you are not able to copy the files to the specified location, then either your root is not working or you have not enabled it correctly.
In the app I mentioned, you must do the following:
- start 'file manager'
- press left button and select 'settings' from the context menu
- tick 'Root Explorer' and 'Mount system writeable' checkboxes
- allow the app root access whenever asked...
