t9 dialer - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just curious if t9 dialer is missing in SGS RC4.2 ROM only or its missing in all custom ICS roms..i badly miss it?

Haven't used it, but I think it's a feature for the dark knight rom

hi
the problem is that i depend on arabic language
and the roms available in here dont have arabic language
so that i cant use a rom does not have arabic
cyanogen rom is good but the problem is in browsing the internet
the letters are inverted
if i can fix it i'll use but i cant fix it so any help?????
Hi brother,
you know, as I'm using Arabi too, I flashed back to the original "stock" sbf cause of the arabic issue from CM 6.1.1
After that I missed the cool look etc, but with ADlauncher and launcher Pro you can even use gingerbread theme over the stock 2.1 update 1.
you can find it in the market.
good luck

[Q] ICS or videocall?

Hi, any chance to see a ICS rom with videocall?
I'm using the Teamhacksung's one and works really well, but i miss the native videocall from my GB Darky's rom.
So.... again, is it possible to see a ICS rom with native videocall for SGS?
As far as I know clean ICS don't have videocall option. In our beloved Galaxy S it was added by Samsung for their devices and not Google. Darky's Rom is just a modification of a stock rom, so it have native videocall option...
Maybe some day developers from this fine community will make a mod for ICS to add this option, but for now, as long as ICS ports are at beta/RC stage... Well, you know...
I know.
Videocall is a feature added by samsung and kept by Darky's team.
I wish someone adds it to one of the ICS rom.
It's the only thing i miss from gingerbread.

[Q] Best ICS ROM???

What is the best ice cream sandwich rom with/without best battery life ever created, modified or developed.
IMO it's the KingDroid ICS NoteMania Edition v1.6 TouchWizz UX. It is very fast and beautiful, it also has the Google play apps and the s-pen ones.

There is nothing called the best rom.It really depends on what features you want and with what rom you feel comfortable. As of now,you have the following options for safe ICS roms
1.CyanogenMod9
2.Asylum ICS
3.MiUi
4.ParanoidAndroid.
5.And other ASOP/AKOP roms build on cm9.
The roms other than above are built on lp1,lp5,lpy or lpf F/W which has the potential to brick your phone.
what is KingDroid based on??

If you flash Kingdroid, would you lose any of the S-Pen functionality? I've heard it does :S
I am using Galaxy Note for a long time. I was always far to the custom roms since they have various bugs mostly. But after a long time I changed my mind when i see the Paranoid Android rom. It is really cool with its Tablet/Phone hybrid functions and views. I can easily say that it is really smoother then the official ICS roms. And the battery, performance, speed, stability etc everything is just fine.
Maybe you can give a shot on this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662802
by the way it is a CM9 based rom and it is safe to use (doesnt have the brick bug)

first go back to any gingerbread rom by odin http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
then flash zimage of cwm recovery by initial cf root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784
then flash downloaded zip files of paranoidandroid(then google apps) or kingdroid.
Miui is the most beautiful rom in my opinion
It has additional features and a great battery life.
Hit thanks if this post was helpful
(And sorry for my english^^)

The advice Ayush770 should be ported over to development for the unsure, noobs or just need a plain straight method.
My preference is CM9, any ROM no matter how good that has a PINK unicorn (angry looking or not) & message's you your a jerk when you disable said PINK unicorn...........well you decide!

Using Kingdroid NoteMania v3 with Speedmod kernel #k3-3.
S-Pen works great and so does all S-Pen enhanced apps
Battery life is good. Single charge gets me through the day with Exchange push mail, Gmail, Skype and Plume running all the time
Speed is fast. Of course, after you flash Speedmod kernel, it takes some time to settle down. Initially it may lag but as you use it and it creates the dalvik cache, it gets faster
TouchWiz5 is better than TW4 though I use NovaLauncher. There is no lag in either but I like the clean look of Nova over TW
Replaced Samsung Email with AOSP Email client and Samsung Messaging with AOSP Messaging. Now all messaging apps look homogeneous (Gmail, Email and Messaging)
Do not use Live Wallpapers as it hogs battery. I use a plain black wallpaper with screen brightness at ~70%. Still battery gets me through the day
Go to task manager and clear RAM once a day. Close apps you are not going to use for sometime
Cheers

Xperia ICS Dialer

Hi there,
I'm on rooted stock ICS 4.0.4 LRG Odexed Rom. I would like to change my GNote Dialer and contacts to Stock ICS dialer/contacts or Xperia S ICS style dialer without changing ROMs. Is it possible to do so just by swapping phone.apk and contacts.apk?
Can somebody point in the right direction?
Many thanks

I dun think so. Most of the time it requires framework and system ui to be present as well unless it is native Android which I dun think so in this case.
